T.C. Robinson
T.C. Robinson, 82, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. Ron Curtis officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Robinson was born and grew up in Desdemona. He moved to Abilene in 1935 and attended Draughn's Business College. He was a Navy veteran. He owned and operated Master's Cleaners from 1945 until his death. He married Dorothy Crawford in 1939 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; two sons, Phillip Robinson and Clark Robinson, both of Abilene; two sisters, Wanda Martin and Ina Barker of Desdemona; and four grandchildren.

Mable Jo White
Mable Jo White, 71, of Abilene died Monday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 U.S. Hwy. 277 South.
Mrs. White was born in Merkel and attended Abilene High School. She retired after 31 years at Abilene State School. She was a Baptist and the widow of Barney D. White, whom she married in Abilene.
Survivors include four sons, Russell Foster, Rodger G. Foster and Therion J. White, all of Abilene, and David R. Foster of Eula; one stepson, Tommy White of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Debbie Sanoniego of Tuscaloosa; her mother, Jeneva McKay Stenson of Abilene; 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two nieces.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country, 3113 Oldham Lane, Abilene 79602.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Melba Hail
KINGSLAND -- Melba Hail, 72, of Marble Falls died Saturday in Austin.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joannie Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet County.
Mrs. Hail was born in Oklahoma and was a homemaker. She moved to the area from Abilene in 1996 and was a member of the Full Gospel church. She married Wilbor Virgel Hail in 1946 in Plainview; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Hail and Gaylon Hail, both of Austin; three daughters, Kathy Mathis of Granite Shoals, Tina Hail of Kingsland and Winna Fisher of McKinney; one brother, Hansford Davis of Humble; one sister, Nadine Hail of Abilene; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizens Center in Marble Falls.

Dolores Gorka Vokes
RIO RANCHO, N.M. -- Dolores Gorka Vokes, 65, died Wednesday.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenburg, directed by Rio Rancho Funeral Home.
Mrs. Vokes was born in Wharton County and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a bachelor's degree. She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a master's degree in business administration and was listed in Who's Who Among American Students. She was an elementary school teacher in Houston, Abilene and Lubbock before retiring. She volunteered at St. Martens, Joy Junction and Barrett House and published recipe books of White House dishes.
Survivors include two sons, Mark Vokes of Grand Prairie and Mike Vokes of Arlington; one daughter, Marie Anne Dierke of Rio Rancho; one brother, James Gorka of Richmond, Tex.; one niece, one nephew and numerous family members in Texas.
The family will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-noon Thursday.

Eric William 'Bill' Almquist
ANSON -- Eric William "Bill" Almquist, 89, died Monday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bethel Cemetery in Ericksdahl with Kent Wallace officiating, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Almquist was born in Hamlin, grew up in Ericksdahl and attended Swenson schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a farmer and a rancher. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church at Ericksdahl.
Survivors include two sisters, Catherine "Cay" Purcell of Hawley and Helena Purcell of Abilene, and several nieces and nephews.

Omar 'Mitch' Mitchell
COLEMAN -- Omar "Mitch" Mitchell, 74, of Odessa died Sunday at a Cuero hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Hamp Linehan officiating. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mr. Mitchell was born in Coleman County. He grew up in Coleman County and graduated from Coleman High School in 1943. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and had lived in Odessa for 40 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Coleman and attended North Side Baptist Church in Odessa. He was a retired salesman for Ponca Wholesale in Odessa and was a member of the Stamp Collecting Club in Odessa. He married Ella Locke in 1970 in Del Rio.
Survivors include his wife, of Odessa and Cuero; nine children, Allan Dale Mitchell and Bob Whitworth, both of Cuero, Adell Marie Mitchell of Tulsa, Okla., Dean Odell Mitchell of Odessa, Caroline Biles of Talahassee, Fla., Karen Sue Rios of Fort Worth, Wesley Roberts of Kerrville, Glenda Roberts of Kempner and Bobby Paul Cox of Abilene; one brother, J.T. "Pete" Mitchell of Odessa; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and one niece.

CISCO -- Altus Page, 80, of Breckenridge died Monday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Oakwood Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Clareman officiating, assisted by the Rev. Steve Bezner, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.
Mrs. Page was born in Fort Cobb, Okla., and was a homemaker and a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Breckenridge. She married Louis Tipton "Tip" Page in 1936.
Survivors include one son, Thomas Phillip Page of Abilene; one daughter, Kay Page Adkins of Las Vegas, Nev.; two brothers, Lynn Phillips of Concrete, Wash., and Jack Phillips of Comanche, Okla.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Jerry Wayne Jones
ANSON -- Jerry Wayne Jones, 57, died Sunday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Finwick officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery in Abilene, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was born and grew up in Arkansas and moved to Abilene in 1990 and to Anson in 1994. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and, for 17 years, a truck driver for Parker Henifen Truck Company. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He married Lil Daniel in 1962 in Amarillo.
Survivors include his wife, of Anson; one son, Curtis Jones of Midland; three daughters, Chandra Martinez, Sue Wilhoit and Kathy Young, all of Fort Worth; his stepfather, Elmer Hestand of Merkel; four sisters, Joyce Green of Fayetteville, Ark., Barbara Bonny of Berea, Ky., and Sherry Spencer and Brenda Blanton, both of Waldron, Ark.; two brothers, David Jones of Anson and Kenneth Jones of Waldron; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Polly Fisher
MERKEL -- Polly Fisher, 85, died Sunday at her home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Griffith officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fisher was born in Detroit, Tex., and was a self-employed bookkeeper. She graduated from Fulbright High School and attended Paris Junior College. She taught school in Red River County for five years and, with her husband, owned two Fina stations and Merkel Auto Parts. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star 212. She married J.L. Fisher in 1934 in Hugo, Okla.; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include one sister, Mildred Lee of Garland, and several nieces and nephews.
