J.V. 'Red' Norris
ASPERMONT -- J.V. "Red" Norris, 90, died Monday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Brown Cemetery in Aledo with Kenneth Norris officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Norris was born in Rule and worked as a truck driver. He was the widower of Oma Fay Gilley Norris, whom he married in 1925 in Aspermont.
Survivors include four daughters, Edith Pierce of Old Glory, Barbara Brown of Aledo, Connie McKeehan of Granbury and Virgie Lynn Malone of Weatherford; two sons, Leslie Clyde Norris of Granbury and Kenneth J. Norris of Sanderson; one brother, Cecil Norris of Swenson; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Agnes Kemletz
Agnes Kemletz, 87 of Abilene died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Kemletz was born in Pearl, Texas, and lived in Abilene for 80 years. She was the widow of Albert William Kemletz, whom she married in Baird in 1940. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include one niece, Peggy Ray of Bullard, Texas; and two nephews, including Wilbur Vance of Abilene.

Crystal Ann Gayle
TYE -- Crystal Ann Gayle, 21, died Wednesday in Abilene.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Merkel First Baptist Church with the Revs. Todd Rasberry and John Hadley officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home of Merkel.
Miss Gayle was born in Abilene and graduated from Merkel High School in 1995. She attended Cisco Junior College and was accepted to study at the University of Texas. She worked as a sales clerk at Hastings Books, Music and Video.
Survivors include her father and stepmother, Curtis and Patti Gayle of Tuscola; her mother, Lou Ann Willson Gayle of Tye; her paternal grandfather, Bill Gayle of Abilene; three uncles; and several cousins.
Memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

Gracie Miller
CONTENT -- Gracie Miller, 77, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Lawn Baptist Church with the Rev. Price Mathieson officiating. Burial will be in Counts Cemetery west of Content in Runnels County, directed by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Mrs. Miller was born in Comanche County and moved to Content in 1940. She worked as a dormitory clerk at Abilene State School for nine years. She then managed the Fashion Shop in Winters for five years before managing the Winters Laundromat for 15 years until retiring in 1996. She was a member of a Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Abilene and Lawn Baptist Church, and was the widow of Bayne Miller, whom she married in 1940 in Novice.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Miller Gully of Content; one son, Rex Bayne Miller of Content; two sisters, Janie Richey of Content and Emma LaBaum of Stephenville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Dovie Hicks
HOPE, Ark. -- Dovie J. Hicks, 80, formerly of Abilene, died Tuesday.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Harmon officiating, directed by Herndon Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hicks was born in Abilene and was a retired nurse. She was the widow of Mack Hicks. She was a member of Garrett Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Ruby Bryan, of McNeil, Ark.; one grandson, Terry Baxley, of Mount Holley, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

Rosa Ingram
CROSS PLAINS -- Rosa A. Ingram, 90, of Abilene and formerly of Cross Plains, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Lenz officiating. Burial will be in Cross Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Ingram was born in Cross Plains, where she lived most of her life, and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Leonard L. Ingram, whom she married in 1929 in Lovington, N.M.
Survivors include two sons, Harold Ingram and Paul Ingram, both of Abilene; two daughters, Betty Brooker and Jeannette Cloud, both of Abilene; one sister, Edna Ramsey of Caps; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon today in the funeral home.

Sandy J.F. Wagley
BAIRD -- Sandy J.F. Wagley, 28, of Carlton, Ore., and formerly of the Baird area, died Saturday at his home from an accident.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Parker Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ross Ellis officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Ross Cemetery Annex.
Mr. Wagley was born in Huntington Park, Calif., and moved to Putnam. He graduated from Baird High School and served with the U.S. Marine Corps during Operation Desert Storm. He married Georgia Martin in 1994 in Baird. He moved to Carlton, Ore. in 1994 and worked for WesTak in Forest Grove, Ore. for the past four years.
Survivors include his wife, of Carlton, Ore.; two daughters, Candiss Wagley and Christine Wagley, both of Carlton, Ore.; his father, Bill Wagley of Charlotte, N.C.; his mother and stepfather, Connie Wagley and Glenn Kitchens of Albany; one sister, LaLena McNish of El Paso; one brother, Morrison Wagley of Gladewater; and his grandparents, Evelyn and Ron Bruneau of Sun City, Ariz., Mary Wagley of Baird, Jo Ann Wagley of Putnam and Floyd Archer of Las Vegas, Nev.

Larry Don Whitley
CLYDE -- Larry Don Whitley, 26, formerly of Rotan, died Monday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rotan First Baptist Church with the Rev. Werth Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin East Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee Funeral Home of Rotan.
Mr. Whitley was born in Rotan and graduated from Hobbs High School in 1990. He married Tena Louise Hudson in 1994 in Clyde and worked in the fast food business. He was a member of the Goat Association and Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Clyde; one daughter, Courtney Dawn Whitley of Clyde; his parents, Gerald and Brenda Whitley of Clyde; two brothers, Travis Whitley of Abilene and Eric Whitley of Clyde; and his grandparents, Buster and Winnie Donham of Rotan.

Wilma 'Bud' Davis
WINTERS -- Wilma C. "Bud" Davis, 85, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Winters First Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis was born in Dale in Runnels County and was a lifetime Winters resident. He graduated from Winters High School. He was the widower of Blanche Key Davis, whom he married in 1932 in Ovalo. He married Jimmie Alexander Mayo in 1980 in Ballinger and was a farmer and a carpenter. He served on the Runnels County Soil and Water Conservation District, the Elm Creek Water Control Board, the Coleman County Electric Co-op. He was a member of the Lions Club and was a Winters school trustee. He taught Sunday school and was a deacon at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Winters; one son, Don Davis of Winters; one daughter, Wilma Jeanell "Jiggy" Davis Pate of Fort Worth; one stepson, Lynn Mayo of Midland; one brother, Robert S. Davis of Santa Ana, Calif.; four grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Winters First Baptist Church.
