Asuncion Nunez Gonzalez
HAMLIN -- Asuncion Nunez Gonzalez, 85, died Tuesday in an Abilene hospital.
Rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today at Foster-Adams Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating. Burial will be in Hamlin Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Nugent and lived in Hamlin most of her life. She was the widow of Paz Gonzalez, whom she married in 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivor include three daughters, Barbara Gonzalez of Abilene, Julia Guerra of Hamlin, and Nell Ruiz of Anchorage, Alaska; her stepmother, Margarita Nunez of Hamlin; 19 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Edward Gus 'Edd' Poehls
WINTERS -- Edward Gus "Edd" Poehls, 81, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Winters Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gayland Broadstreet and Ryan Prater officiating. Burial will be in the Wilmeth Cemetery.
Mr. Poehls was born in Old Dime Box, Texas, and moved to Runnels County as a young boy. He was the widower of Mary Mildred Murphy Poehls, whom he married in 1939 in Norton. He was a farmer and a member of the Norton Lions Club. He served on the Valley Creek Water Conservation Board. He was a Sunday school superintendent and deacon at Wilmeth Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Poehls and Ronnie Poehls, both of Wingate; two sisters, Anna Lee Bilbrey of Ballinger and Gladys Keezee of Bronte; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Juan Munoz Garcia
O'BRIEN -- Juan Munoz Garcia, 60, died Tuesday in a Haskell hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church with the Rev. Kevin Fagan officiating. Burial will be in O'Brien Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home in Knox City. The body may be viewed at the church.
Mr. Garcia was born in George West and lived most of his life in O'Brien. He married Julia Portillo in 1984 in Rhineland. He worked for the O'Brien Gin. He was a member of the Santa Rosa Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife of O'Brien; four sons, Domingo Garcia of Knox City, Eulalio Garcia of Hobbs, N.M., Ricardo Garcia of Garland, and Juan Manuel Garcia of Harlingen; seven daughters, Elda Garcia, Sayla Diaz, Luzelida Rios and Concepsion Pedroza, all of of Knox City, Rosario Guiterrez of Raymondville, Remedios Casillas of Garland, and Yvonne Garcia of Harlingen; two stepbrothers, Manuel Ysazuirre of Amarillo and Louis Ysazuirre of Houston; three sisters, Ramon Contreas of Visalia, Calif., Estella Escobedo of Amarillo, and Lucia Y. Lara of Greeley, Colo.; 33 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Terry Hill Rives
WINTERS -- Terry Hill Rives, 50, of Kirkwood, Mo., and formerly of Winters, died Sunday in a Missouri hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Don Roach and Jim Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, directed by Winters Funeral Home.
Mr. Rives was born in Winters and graduated from Winters High School and Texas Tech University. He married Beth Berry in Lubbock. He was a retail manager for K-Mart and had lived in Kansas City and St. Louis. He was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Kirkwood, Mo.; one son, Christopher Rives of Ballinger; one daughter, Katy Rives of Kirkwood, Mo.; one brother, Larry Rives of Aubrey; one sister, Kay Lynn Strickland of Winters; and one grandchild.
Family visitation will be 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center.

Willie Maxine Davis
ASPERMONT -- Willie Maxine Davis, 69, of Swenson, died Wednesday in a Swenson nursing home.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Aspermont Church of Christ with Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Double Mountain Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born in Fletcher, Okla. She married Bob Davis in 1946 in Aspermont. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of Swenson; one daughter, Kay White of Swenson; two sons, Bobby Davis of Amarillo and David Davis of Dalhart; three sisters, Amerena Singleterry of Brownfield, Claramae Dunham of Hamilton, and Dessie Walker of Muleshoe; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Agnes Kemletz
Agnes Kemletz, 87 of Abilene died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Elmwood Memorial Park with the Rev. David Cason officiating, directed by Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd.
Mrs. Kemletz was born in Pearl, Texas, and lived in Abilene for 80 years. She was the widow of Albert William Kemletz, whom she married in Baird in 1940. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include one niece; and two nephews, Wilbert Vance of Abilene and Gene Vance of Henrietta, Okla.

Floyd Eckols
Floyd S. Eckols, 77, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories with the Rev. Mike Woodard officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
Mr. Eckols was born in O’Donnel and was a World War II veteran. He moved to Abilene in 1964. He married Lucila Noemi in 1969 in Malta. He was a retired mechanical engineer with Kiser Engineers International. He was a 50-year Mason and was a member of Orient Lodge 15 of Green River, Utah, and Al Malaikah Shrine Temple in Los Angeles. He also was a 32nd Scottish Rite mason of the Valley of Los Angeles and was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; one son, Joe Eckols of Granger; one stepson, Ronald Willingham of Georgetown; two sisters, Julia Dollings of Breckenridge and Estelle Seely of Lamesa; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Gladys Miller
Gladys Joy Miller, 89, lifelong Abilene-area resident, died Wednesday at home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Miller was born in Georgetown and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Thomas Odell Miller, whom she married in Ovalo in 1927. She was a volunteer at Abilene Regional Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of TOPS. She also was a member of a sewing club and Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd R. Miller of Midland and Gerald O. Miller of Ohio; three daughters, Bobbie Lou Wilson and Wanda M. Burleson, both of Garland, and Jo Ann Brooks of Abilene; one sister, Alva Chaffin of Grand Junction, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be at 441 Jeanette.

R.B. ‘Breland’ Wallace
R.B. "Breland" Wallace, 71, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Elmdale Baptist Church with the Revs. Knox Waggoner and H.G. Barnard officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, directed by North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mr. Wallace was born in Ranger, where he grew up. He married Jene Ball in 1948 in Ranger. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He operated the Pontiac dealership in Ranger from 1956-58. He moved to Abilene in 1960, where he operated Pine Street Motors, The Auto Auction, East I-20 Wrecking Yard, and Elmdale Motors before retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Eastland.
Survivors include his wife of Elmdale; two sons, Breland "Dusty" Wallace of North Richland Hills and Sandy Wallace of Elmdale; one daughter, Lerena Wiggins of Checotah, Okla.; one brother, Farrell Buchanan of Pearland; and seven grandchildren.
