RISING STAR -- Lucy Curtis, 95, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Higginbotham Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Simmons officiating. Burial will be in the Romney Cemetery in Eastland County.
Mrs. Curtis was born in Romney. She was the widower of Wilburn Lee Curtis, whom she married in 1920 in Nimrod. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, D.W. Curtis of Fort Worth and J.B. Curtis of Grand Junction, Colo.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

James Ardon Everett
THROCKMORTON -- James Ardon Everett, 91, died Wednesday in a local care center.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at the Merriman-Archer Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in the Throckmorton Cemetery.
Mr. Everett was born in Throckmorton. He was the widower of Ruby Lee Ash Everett, whom he married in 1928 in Throckmorton. He was a farmer and an oilfield pumper until retiring. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Sue Everett of Grand Prairie; one sister, Ruby Terrell of Midland; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Julie Robinson
COLEMAN -- Julie Robinson, 46, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Coleman Cemetery.
Mrs. Robinson was born in Friendship, N.Y. She served in the U.S. Navy. She married Joe Robinson in 1972 in Bainbridge, Md. She moved to Coleman in 1974 and was employed with Hummingbird Home Health. She taught Sunday school and was a member of Fred Sorrells Women’s Missionary Union at First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Coleman; one son, Tim Robinson of Georgetown, Ill.; one daughter, Cherri Martinez of Coleman; her parents, Joe and Joyce Craft of Arcade, N.Y.; two brothers, Joe S. Craft of Vancouver, Wash., and David Craft of Houston; two sisters, Diane Rose of Arcade, N.Y. and Elizabeth Harrison of Houston; her grandmother, Ethlene George of New York; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Dixie Barnett
BORWNWOOD -- Dixie Barnett, 65, died Thursday at a local hospital.
Grveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Greenleaf Cemetery, directed by Heartland Funeral Home of Early.
Mrs. Barnett was born in Bastrop, La. She moved to Brownwood in 1989 and retired from Janie Clements Industries. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
There are no known survivors.

Erminia ‘Minnie’ Reyes Rodriquez
KNOX CITY -- Erminia "Minnie" Reyes Rodriquez, 87, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Rosa Catholic Church with the Rev. Oren Keys officiating. Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery.
Mrs. Rodriquez was born in Campellton. She was the widow of Vical L. "Bill" Rodriquez, whom she married in 1935 in Campellton. She moved to Knox City in 1947 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Altar Society of the Santa Rosa Catholic Church.
Survivors include seven sons, Martias Rodriquez of Hobbs, N.M., Ernest Rodriquez of Boyd, Ray Rodriquez of St. Paul, Minn., Richard Rodriquez of Brush, Colo., Mike Rodriquez of Odessa, Henry Rodriquez of Abilene and Leonard Rodriquez of Knox City; three daughters, Anna Flores of Rule, Margaret Ribela of Hamlin and Elma Garcia of Hobbs, N.M.; three brothers, Ralph Reyes of Flint, Mich., Mike Reyes of Jordinton and Procopio Reyes of Campbellton; three sisters, Phyllis Artiz and Lola Suarez of Bakersfield, Calif., and Mary Arigro of Pleasanton; 21 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Frank Vasek
STAMFORD -- Frank Vasek, 87, lifelong Jones County resident, died Wednesday in a Midland care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Stamford First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jay Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, directed by Kinney Funeral Home.
Mr. Vasek was born in Jones County and began farming in 1933. He was a charter member of Texas Cowboy Reunion Art Foundation and also was a member of the Sons of Herman Lodge 228 in Old Glory, Texas Cowboy Reunion Oldtimers Association and First Baptist Church. He was the widower of Dimple Leora Wilson, whom he married in 1934 in Stamford.
Survivors include one daughter, Fran Shamburger of Midland; two brothers, August "Fats" Vasek of Stamford and Joe Vasek of Littlefield; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard Robb
CLYDE -- Leonard M. Robb, 73, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Clyde Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Watson officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Robb was born in Oklahoma City and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Rosetta Baggs in 1979 in Anson and moved to Clyde in 1986 from Oklahoma City. He worked as truckdriver for 37-1/2 years, including 17 with Yellow Freight Lines until retiring in 1984. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, of Clyde; six sons, Leonard Eugene Robb of Amarillo, Kenneth Dewayne Robb of Baird, Ronald Eugene Robb, Randy Robb and Danny Robb, all of Oklahoma City, and Robert Robb of Aurora, Colo.; one daughter, Tammy Robb of Oklahoma City; three stepdaughters, Vickie Kozicki, Debra Lynn Crow and Dixie Ann Bradford, all of Abilene; his mother, Opal Abbott Robb of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Arthur Robb of Timpson, Calvin Robb of California and Raymond Robb of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Jerry Sturgeon of Bristow, Okla., and Ginny Baldwin and Sandy McKean, both of Oklahoma City; 30 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Martha Zellarene Herndon Knox
Martha Zellarene Herndon Knox, 82, died Wednesday in a local care center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today in the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Jack English officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Knox was born in Anson, where she graduated from high school. She moved to Abilene in 1936 and married Robert Erskine Knox Sr. in Lampassas in 1951. She retired from the Abilene school district with a total of 25 years as a dietician and food service associate. She attended Baker Heights Church of Christ and was the widow of Capt. Finus Brown and Lois Clark.
Survivors include her husband of Abilene; two sons, Robert E. Knox Jr. of Dallas and Retired Col. Don H. Clark of Austin; one brother, Leo L. Herndon of Abilene; a sister, Alice Bristow of Houston; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Eula Florence Reed
Eula Florence Reed, 91, owner and operator of Reed Beauty Shop for 52 years until retiring in 1989, died Friday in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Central Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by North’s Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Reed was born in Burnet and moved to the Hamby area in 1917. She was a charter member of Monday Night Circle for Working Women. She sang in the choir for many years at First Central Presbyterian Church and was the widow of Leslie Thomas Reed, whom she married in 1926 in Abilene.
Survivors include one son, Winford Glenn Reed of Merkel; one sister, Fern Marie Penney of Orange; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
