Henry M. King
(October 12, 2012 - January 1, 2012)
A graveside service for Mr. Henry M. King, 85, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2011, at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving, Texas.
Mr. King was born on October 12, 1926, to the late Thomas King and Pinky Jones King in Joaquin, Texas.
He passed away peacefully on January 1, 2012, in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Mr. King served his country in the United States Navy.
He owned and operated his own dry cleaning business.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by his family and friends.
Henry is survived by his daughter, Pam Daniel and husband, Donny of Kemp, Texas; one granddaughter, Jennifer Baker; his great-granddaughter, Madison Baker; and five sisters; as well as numerous other extended family and great friends.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, and one sister.
Alexander Martin Sonier
(August 4, 1930 - December 4, 2011)
Funeral services for Alexander Martin Sonier, 81, of Timpson, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Timpson Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Justin Coburn officiating.
Interment will follow in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
Mr. Sonier passed away December 4, 2011, in Timpson.
Born August 04, 1930, in Beaumont, TX, Alexander Martin Sonier was the son of the late Moise and Bertha (Brown) Sonier.
Mr. Sonier retired from the U.S. Navy after serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and then retired from Southern Pacific Railroad.
He was a member of Timpson Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Janie Sonier of Timpson; son James Sonier of Jacksonville, FL; daughters Sheila Adams of Garden Grove, CA, Anne Sonier, Lydia Sonier, and Robin Wells, all of Houston; step-daughter Debra Merrick of Houston; sister Evelyn Thompson of Lubbock, TX; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 6 step grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Alexander Sonier was preceded in death by his brother Olin Sonier and sisters Anitha Hitchcock and Lois Jolin.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 7, 2011, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.
Cecil Edward Denison
(January 1, 1955 - December 10, 2011)
Funeral services for Cecil Edward Denison, 56, of Timpson, TX, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Timpson, with Bro. Cliff Hughes and Bro. Eric Pledger officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 3:30 PM, Tuesday, in Munnerlyn Chapel Cemetery, Mira, LA.
Mr. Denison passed away December 10, 2011, in Hope, AR.
Born January 01, 1955, in Shreveport, LA, Cecil Denison was the son of the late Billy Sanders Denison and Annie Belle (Adcock) Denison.
He was a graduate of North Caddo High School in Vivian, LA.
Mr. Denison was a welding inspector for Center Point Energy and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Timpson.
Cecil and Nancy Decker Stephens were married August 19, 2006, in Timpson.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Denison of Timpson; mother Annie Bell Denison of Mira, LA; brother Billy Denison and wife Theresa of Avinger, TX; sister Nina Dickerson and husband Greg of DeBerry, TX; daughter Anna Austin and husband Brad of Vivian, LA; stepson Andy Stephens and wife Jody of Timpson; stepdaughter Emily Jordan and husband Bill of Greenwood, AR; grandchildren: Landry Kate Austin; Hayden and Nathan Jordan; Allysha, Jamie, and Xander Stephens; and “granddaughter” Gretta Oliver.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, December 12, 2011, at Taylor Funeral Home, Timpson.
Wanda Milford Clay
(April 23, 1932 - December 16, 2011)
Wanda Elaine (Milford) Clay went to be with the Lord December 16, 2011.
She was born in Timpson, TX, April 23, 1932, to Simmie and Thelma (Bussey) Milford. Wanda was 79 years of age.
Wanda graduated from Timpson High School in 1950.
She then worked for Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator in her younger years.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She taught Sunday School for many years, she loved the Lord, and was of Baptist faith.
She was a people person, loved to talk and never met a stranger.
Wanda Clay was preceded in death by her parents Simmie and Thelma (Bussey) Milford, two brothers Kenneth Paul Milford and Damon Earl Milford, and one son Gerry Michael Clay.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Harold Clay of Lake Jackson, TX; son Jeffery Clay of Lake Jackson; daughters Debbie Klatt and Lisa Chapman, both of Lake Jackson; sister Sue Milford Belflower and husband Steve of Laneville, TX; daughter-in-law Belinda Clay of Loganville, GA; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
Howard K. Fory, Jr.
(December 11, 1922 - December 20, 2011)
Funeral services for Howard Keefer Fory, Jr., 89, of Longview, TX, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011, in Centre Presbyterian Church, Longview, with Rev. John Woodard officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, TX.
Mr. Fory passed away December 20, 2011, in Longview.
Born December 11, 1922, in Big Sandy, Texas, Howard Fory, Jr., was the son of the late Howard K. Fory, Sr. and Nettie (Wilson) Fory.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Howard received an Associate’s Degree from Kilgore Jr. College, and he and Nell Sue Mauldin were married July 11, 1950, in the First Christian Church, Longview.
Howard was a member of New Salem Masonic Lodge #87 for 60 years, a former member of Cherokee Country Golf Club, and a member of Centre Presbyterian Church, Longview.
He retired from Amoco Pipe Line Company after 35 years of employment.
Survivors include his three children Gina Anderson and husband Raymond, Nanci Bassett, and Robert Fory and wife Carol.
Also left behind are seven grandchildren: Nathan Eubank, Jason Eubank, Seth Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Brandon Baker, Lacy Turney, and Beau Bassett; four great grandchildren: Noah Turney, Madison Eubank, Bailey Eubank, and Logan Turney; and sister-in-law Fran Fory.
In addition to his parents, Howard Fory, Jr. was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Nell (Mauldin) Fory and brother Frank Fory.
Betty Ellen Lewis
(July 27, 1920 - April 27, 2011)
Betty Ellen (Freeman) Lewis, 90 of Richardson, Texas and formerly of Harrisburg, PA went home to be with her Lord on April 27, 2011.
Born July 27, 1920 in Ford City, PA to John and Mildred Freeman, she was married to William Lewis for 32 years, all whom preceded her in death.
Betty ”Bet” chose to live her life in Harrisburg, after being widowed in 1973 and in spite of some of her family members, she devoted her life to help raise two of her grandchildren Kim Harris-Bragg(Bill) and Thomas Dopp Jr.
She was employed by several local retailers, and volunteered for civic organizations.
She was avid homemaker and gardener.
She often stated that her life was complete after moving to Texas with her granddaughter and her husband (with whom she resided).
The last ten years were spent traveling throughout the country.
She was fortunate enough to have met and count as personal friends some of America’s most well known celebrities, of today and yesterday.
Her selflessness extended to animals, as she was very active in the rescuing and fostering of unwanted pets.
She was preceded in death by an infant son (1956) and her only sister Margie Freeman.
She lovingly leaves behind two daughters, Linda Carley(Don) of Port Allegheny, and Sue Mulvihill (Jim) of Harrisburg, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren and her extended family in Harrisburg, the Packard-Walker’s.
“Bet” always had a kind word and smile for everyone.
Mrs. Lewis requested that she be laid to rest near her residence in Texas and with her late husband and infant in Harrisburg.
Her interment in Flower Mound, Texas will be on May 14, 2011.
A service in Harrisburg will be scheduled at a date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, her granddaughter requests a contribution be made to any animal welfare or no-kill shelter.
