Opal Marie Brewer
MUNDAY -- Opal Marie Brewer, 94, died Saturday at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Johnson Memorial Cemetery with Dr. H.B. Graves officiating, directed by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brewer was born in Forestburg and moved to Knox County from Montague County in 1932. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Benjamin Earl Brewer in 1923 in Montague County; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Lea May of Rule, Earleen Kuehler of Munday and Annette Stubblefield of Hurst; one son, Bob Brewer of Rule; two sisters, Darleen Harris of North Plains, Ore., and Cloreen Moore of Pampa; 11 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Kay Anthony Fox
COMANCHE -- Kay Anthony Fox, 58, died Sunday at a Dublin nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Comanche Garden of Memories with the Rev. David Blagg officiating, directed by Hall & Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fox was born in Fort Worth and was a bookkeeper-clerk for Fort Worth National Bank for many years, retiring in 1995. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sisters, Kathy Culpepper of Comanche and Gail Youngdale of Sugar Land; four nephews and two nieces.

Mary Mae Gullion
MALAKOFF -- Mary Mae Gullion, 65, died Friday in Tyler.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Malakoff United Methodist Church with Frank Upchurch and Erskine Riveire officiating. Burial will be in Malakoff Cemetery, directed by Tomlinson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gullion was born in Sweetwater and moved to Malakoff from Plano in 1976. She was a technical engineer for Texas Instruments and was a member of First United Methodist Church and the church’s singles club.
Survivors include her husband, Bob Gullion of Malakoff; three sons, Michael Gary Taylor and Rick Taylor, both of Plano, and David Taylor of Malakoff; two daughters, Lynette Taylor of Tampa, Fla., and Kristina Ballenger of Malakoff; two brothers, John Gantt of Georgetown and George Gantt of Marble Falls; one sister, Dena Gantt of Alpine; and five grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Herbert Fick
LAKE LEON -- Herbert A. Fick, 75, formerly of Odessa, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Eastland with the Rev. Bob Hayes officiating. Burial will be in Merriman Cemetery.
Mr. Fick was born in Cushing, Okla., where he grew up and graduated from high school. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He moved to Odessa and worked for Atlantic Richfield Co. He retired in 1946 and moved to Lake Leon in 1986. He was a member of the Lutheran church in Cushing and attended Lake Leon Baptist Church. He married Jacquetta Palmer in 1946 in Odessa.
Survivors include his wife, of Lake Leon; two daughters, Bonnie McQueen of Independence, Mo.; Debra Jean Walls of Rohnert Park, Calif.; three sons, Michael Norbin Fick of Stephenville, Duane Robert Fick of Saginaw and Gary Herbert Fick of Colleyville; three brothers, Edwin Fick of Cushing, Henry Fick of Stillwater, Okla., and Melvin Fick of Andrews; two sisters, Emma Macuila of Brownfield and Louise Nolan of Andrews; five grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials to Eastland Centennial Memorial Library or Lake Leon Baptist Church may be left at the funeral home.

Amanda Salazar
BROWNWOOD -- Amanda Salazar, 68, died Saturday at an Abilene hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Davis-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignor Benedick Zientek officiating. Burial will be in Greenleaf Cemetery.
Mrs. Salazar was born in San Angelo and had lived in Brownwood for 47 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Paul Salazar Sr. of Brownwood; three daughters, Amanda Urteaga, Alma Tobias and Olga Castillo, all of Brownwood; two sons, George Salazar and Paul Salazar Jr. of Brownwood; one stepsister, Frances Salazar of Brownwood; one stepbrother, Joe Aguirre of San Angelo; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Fizer
BRECKENRIDGE -- Jacqueline "Jackie" Fizer, 65, died Sunday at a local hospital.
The body was cremated. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Morehart Mortuary funeral chapel.
Mrs. Fizer was born in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School. She attended Oklahoma University and was a licensed vocational nurse in California. She attended the Episcopal church.
Survivors include one son, Billy Don Baker Jr. of Midland; one daughter, Janet Lou Schwartz of Temple; and three grandchildren.
Memorials to Meals on Wheels may be left at the funeral home.

Kevin Thomas Russell
Kevin Thomas Russell, 38, of Abilene died Saturday at a local hospital.
The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Dyess Air Force Base Chapel with the Dyess chaplain staff officiating. Cryptside services will be Saturday in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Russell was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., and moved to Abilene from Randolph AFB in San Antonio six years ago. He retired after 18 -1/2 years in the Air Force in February. He had been in aircraft maintenance with the 39th Airlift Squadron at Dyess. He was a Methodist and a member of the Radio Control Club. He married Diane Eubanks in 1982 in Omaha, Neb.
Survivors include his wife, of Abilene; three sons, Kevin Thomas Russell Jr. of San Antonio and Kenneth Ray Russell and Wesley Alan Russell, both of Abilene; his father, Harold H. Russell of Oklahoma City; his mother and stepfather, Charlene and Bill Crossland of Choctaw, Okla.; one brother, Mark Harold Russell of Anaheim, Calif.; one stepbrother, Patrick Crossland of Oklahoma City; and one stepsister, Denise Cox of Wellston, Okla.

John Stubblefield Carter
John Stubblefield Carter, 48, of Abilene died Sunday in Abilene.
Services will be Thursday in Magee, Miss., directed by Upton-Mims Mitchell Funeral Home. Local arrangements were by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Carter was born in Magee and moved to Abilene from Oxford, Miss., in 1979. He was a self-employed geologist. He married Carmen Miller in 1979 in Little Rock, Ark.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Carter of Magee; and two brothers, Denver Lamar Carter II of Magee and William Carter of Houston.

Donita Pounds, 47, of Dallas died Friday in Kansas City, Mo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Holt, Mo. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in McBee Cemetery near Ovalo, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mrs. Pounds was born in Kansas City, Kan., and moved to Dallas from Holt 15 years ago. She managed a Pro Cuts barber-beauty salon in Dallas.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Pounds of Dallas; two sons, Josh Campbell and Eli Adams, both of Kearney, Mo.; one daughter, Donna Jo Maher of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Ronald Coble of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Ginger Shanks of Kansas City, Mo., and Janet Rouse of Excelsior Springs, Mo.
