Lavelle Phelps Lee
EASTLAND -- Lavelle Phelps Lee, 75, died Wednesday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Flatwood Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Beggs officiating, directed by Edwards Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lee was born in Eastland. She was the widow of Wes Lee. She owned the Blossom Shop Florist in Ranger. She was a member of Gunsight Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed her friends, fishing, arrowhead hunting and was a rock hound.
Survivors include one son, Jerry O’Brien of Odessa; three sisters, Billie Beggs and Johnnie May Tucker both of Eastland and Kate Compton of Lake Leon; two halfsisters, Gene Daugherty of Taylor and Patsy Harvey of Burkeville; three halfbrothers, Jim Phelps, John Henry Phelps and Tommie Phelps; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

D.C. Andrews
COMANCHE -- D.C. Andrews, 65, died Thursday at his residence.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Pendergrass Cemetery.
Mr. Andrews was born in Longworth. He married Marcene Ellis in 1951 in Sweetwater. He was Superintendent of Sidney School District for many years and was a member of Sidney Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Sidney; daughter, Kay Ward of Sidney; sister, Betty Scales of Tulsa, Okla.; three brothers, Charles Andrews of Comanche, Okla., Eddie Ray Andrews of El Paso, and Joe Andrews of Haskel; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 today at the funeral home.

Douglas Ray Stevens
WINTERS -- Douglas Ray Stevens, 67, of Wingate, died Friday at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Paige Baize officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Bronte.
Mr. Stevens was born in Bronte. He married Wanda Tidwell in 1952 in Hobbs, N.M. He served in the Korean conflict. He was a stock farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Wingate; two daughters, Donna Jackson of Blackwell and Janice Bowman of Moro; one sister, Ruth Olsen of Shep; and five grandchildren.

Elby Choate
HAWLEY -- Elby Choate, 79, a longtime area resident, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hawley Church of Christ. Burial will be in Hawley Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Choate was born in Gorman and attended school at Boyd’s Chapel. He married Frances Hankins in 1940 in Abilene. He was the founder and president of Overhead Door Company in Abilene. He was a member of the Hawley Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Hawley; five sons, Larry Choate of Hawley, Ronnie Choate of Decatur, Michael Choate of Fredericksburg, and Bruce Choate and Mark Choate both of Abilene; one brother, Gene Choate of Levelland; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Cleo P. White
CROSS PLAINS -- Cleo P. White, 73, died Thursday at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Amity Cemetery.
Mrs. White was born in Hale Center. She was the widow of Hayden White, whom she married in 1946 in Rising Star. She was a school cafeteria supervisor and a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, Roger White of Las Cruces, N.M.; two daughters, Cliffadean Hargrove of Cross Plains and Shirley Pettijohn of Hico; one brother, Bobby Dillard; one sister Von Dell Bailey of Cross Plains; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

William James Brokenbourgh
COMANCHE -- William James Brokenbourgh, 85,a longtime area resident, died Friday in a Brownwood care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Erath Gardens of Memory in Stephenville.
Mr. Brokenbourgh was born in Ottewma, Iowa. He married Dolores Dewaine in Chicago, Ill., in 1934. He was a quality control engineer for Ford Motor Company and later owned and operated the American Motel. He was a 50 year Mason, a member of Par Country Club and a member of the East Side Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Comanche; two daughters, Joyce Bailey and Billie D. Hailey both of Comanche; two sons, David Brokenbourgh of College Station and Willia James Brokenbourgh Jr. of Oregon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.

Vestlene Greer
SWEETWATER -- Vestlene Greer, 76, a longtime resident,died Friday in an Abilene hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Sweetwater Cemetery with the Rev. Keith Clifton officiating, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mrs. Greer married Truman Greer in 1942 in Sweetwater. She was a Licensed Vocational Nurse and worked in Simmons Memorial Hospital and for Dr. Supowit. She was a homemaker and a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Sweetwater; three sons, Terry Greer of Midland, Gerald Greer of Sweetwater, and Tommy Greer of Maryneal; four sisters, Faye Clinton of Abilene, Georgia Green of Arlington, Winona Kennedy and Merl Minton both of Irvin; two brothers, Calvin Critz of Irvin and Jimmy Critz of Garland; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Robert Charles Daughtry
HOUSTON -- Robert Charles Daughtry, 53, died Tuesday.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church with Rick Jones officiating, directed by Earthman Hunter’s Creek Funeral Home.
Mr. Daughtry was the widower of Frances Daughtry. He was a graduate of San Fernando Valley State College and was employed as a staff analyst with Equiva Service. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-78.
Survivors include one daughter, Yvette Cadiere of Houma, La.; one son, John Thompson of Sneads, Fla.; and one sister, Barbara Voit of Abilene.

Marjorie Rhea Green
LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Marjorie Rhea Green, 67, died Wednesday in a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, directed by Palm Mortuary of Las Vegas.
Ms. Green was born in Abilene. She was a retired waitress.
Survivors include one son, Robin W. Green of Las Vegas; three daughters, Marsha Peables of Buda, Karen Green and Kelly Green both of Austin; two sisters, Mary Ann Soe of Manilla, Iowa, and Letha Mae Merkle of Snohomish, Wash.

Thelma Womack McCaleb
ANSON -- Thelma Womack McCaleb, 91, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Anson Church of Christ with Pete Lollar and Earl McCaleb officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Lawrence-Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. McCaleb was born in Pleasant Hill where she attended school and graduated from Anson High School. She graduated from Abilene Christian College. She was the widow of Ervin McCaleb, whom she married in 1928 in Abilene. She taught in the Union schools and was a member of the Anson Church of Christ.
Survivors include three sons, Charles McCaleb of Abilene, Jack McCaleb of Scranton, Ark., and Tom McCaleb of Norman, Okla.; two daughters, La Nell Payne of Littlefield and Janice Todd of Mesquite; one sister, Billye Tate of Bryan; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
