Gaston C. Boykin
COMANCHE -- Gaston C. Boykin, 92, former Comanche county sheriff, died Thursday at his home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Hall & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dan Flourney and James Upshaw officiating. Burial will be in Oak Wood Cemetery.
Mr. Boykin was born in Sipe Springs. He married Gerry Slider Allen in 1948 in Comanche. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Pearl Street Church of Christ. He was co-founder of the Comanche County Museum, a former officer in the Texas Sheriff’s Association and, following his retirement, a rancher.
Survivors include his wife of Comanche; two daughters, Judith Allen Smith of Winston Salem, N.C. and Marilyn Boykin Thomson of Dallas; one sister, Maurine Schlenker of Portales, N.M.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorial may be made to the Comanche County Museum, Pearl Street Church of Christ or Central Christian Church.

Ruby Allen
COLEMAN -- Ruby Allen, 96, a longtime resident, died Thursday in a local care center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Sheffield and Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in Voss Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born in Mansfield and attended school in Starkweather which is now Mozelle. She was the widow of Arthur Winfred Allen, whom she married in 1927 in Coleman. She was a cafeteria worker in the Coleman and Abilene school systems. She was a member of the Concho Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, A.W. Allen Jr. of Abilene and Charles Clifton Allen of Wautauga; two sisters, Oneta Thate of Burkett and Sybil Coleman of Hurst; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Concho Baptist Church.

Sarah Elizabeth Gutierrez
Sarah Elizabeth Gutierrez, infant daughter of Marcus and Anissa Gutierrez, died Thursday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater with the Rev. Michael Tomlinson officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Survivors include her parents of Abilene; one sister, Lexie Gutierrez of Abilene; grandparents, Mike and Donna Tomlinson of Abilene, and Phillip Gutierrez of Seminole; great-grandparents, Hobert and Betty Tomlinson of Sweetwater.

Ernest W. Cox
Ernest W. Cox, 79, a longtime Breckenridge resident, died Thursday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 North Second with the Revs. David Chandler and Geoffery Gunter officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Breckenridge Cemetery.
Mr. Cox was born in Bonham. He married Luella Alston in 1936 in Clovis, N.M. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He owned Universal Auto Service in Breckenridge and was a member of Trinity Nazarene Church.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; three daughters, Joyce Baughn of Jacksonville, Fla., Jan Droegemeier of Amarillo, and Pat Turvan of Fort Worth; two brothers, M.T. Cox of Hobbs, N.M., and John R. Cox of Abilene; one sister, Oma Allison of Brownwood; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Texas, 1802 Pine, Abilene 79601 or a favorite charity.

John H. Delano
John H. Delano Sr., 65, died Thursday at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Floyd Leverton officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Mr. Delano was born in Caps. He married Pat King in 1973 in Vista, Cal. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was employed by R-Enterprises.
Survivors include his wife of Abilene; three sons, Johnny Allen Delano of Fort Collins, Col., Pat Delano of San Diego, Cal., and John H. Delano Jr. of Union City, Mich.; six daughters, Cecelia Snyder of Greensburg, Penn., Joann Bice of Ala., Darla Power of Texarkana, Mary Berron of Mammoth, Penn., Annie Lessler of San Diego, Cal., and Clarise Bennett of Lorraine, Ohio; two sisters, Virginia Dare Lyon of Abilene and Mildred Evelyn Meckley of Alvin; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ramona Carrion
Ramona Carrion, 74, formerly of Abilene, died Friday in Lampasas.
Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. today at the Allen-Korzenewski Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 North Second. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Saint Francis Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Carrion was born in Richmond. She was the widow of Daniel Carrion. She was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include six sons, Leonard Carrion, Raynaldo Carrion, Danny Carrion, Gilbert Carrion, Alex Carrion and Armando Carrion all of Abilene; four daughters, Santos Loya of Lampasas, Lydia Ledbetter and Josie Mendez both of Abilene, and Delia Carrion of Irving; one brother, Jessie Flores of Houston; three sisters, Francis Diaz of Abilene, Gomasinda Alonzo of Corpus Christi, and Martina Gonzales of Houston; 45 grandchildren; and 73 great-grandchildren.

Juanita ‘Nena’ Clark
LORAINE -- Juanita "Nena" Clark, 68, a longtime resident, died Saturday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Lightfoot Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Loraine Cemetery, directed by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.
Mrs. Clark was born in Loraine. She was the widow of Howard Clark, whom she married in 1994 in Lubbock. She was a retired Licensed Vocational Nurse and a member of the Lightfoot Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son, Charles Darwin Casinger of Virginia Beach, Va., one daughter, Diane Heath of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one brother, Gene Stewart of Roscoe; three sisters, Donna Seaton of Abilene, Lyn Calvert of Brooksville, Fla., and Debbie Finley of Loraine; and five grandchildren.

Charles Monroe Thomas Jr.
CLYDE -- Charles Monroe Thomas Jr., 72, died Saturday in Duncanville.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Clyde Cemetery with Dr. Jerry Joplin officiating, directed by Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Thomas was born in Marble Falls. He had worked as a home builder and was employed at Carroll Welding Supply at the time of his death.
Survivors include one son, Tony Thomas of Longview; two daughters, Thresea Thomas of Clyde and Shella Thomas of Longview; one step-son, Kenneth Ollmann of Austin; one step-daughter, Sherry Stephenson of Austin; one brother, Glenn Thomas of Duncanville; and six grandchildren.

Winnie A. Johnston
KNOX CITY -- Winnie A. Johnston, 90, died Saturday in Stamford.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Knox City Cemetery with Rev. Bill Trice officiating, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnston was born in Haskell county. She graduated from Knox City High School. She was the widow of F.A. "Ted" Johnston, whom she married in 1928 in Haskell county. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of O’Brien.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Johnston of Possum Kingdom Lake; one daughter, Barbara McGaughey of Stamford; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the John McGaughey Scholarship Fund at the Stamford Independent School District.

Jerry Branson
SWEETWATER -- Jerry Branson, 60, a longtime Roby resident, died Friday in a local hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Roby United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Branson was born in Sayre, Okla. He was the widower of Freda Jane Etheredge, whom he married in 1960 in Roby. He was a graduate of Roby High School, Stephen F. Austin College and received his Master’s degree from Sul Ross University. He taught school for many years at Texas State Technical College, in Westbrook schools, and in Roby schools.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Branson of Katy; two daughters, Julie Galindo of San Angelo and Jill Ratcliffe of Katy; two brothers, John Branson of Roby and Cecil Branson Jr. of Katy; one sister, Mary Alice Shearer of Longview; and three grandchildren.
