Martha Lee Pettigrew
Memorial services for Martha Lee Pettigrew, 86, formerly of Brownfield, will be at 11:00am, Friday, July 23, 2010 at Brownfield First Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Flowers of Kingsland, officiating.
Burial will be in Terry County Cemetery, under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00-8:00pm, Thursday, July 22 at the Fulford Barn on Pecan Drive.
Martha passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 in Katy, TX.
She was born May 31, 1924 in Long Beach, CA, to Willie and Verna Polk.
She graduated from Slaton High School.
Martha married Tom C. Pettigrew on June 21, 1944 in Slaton, Texas.
He preceded her in death on August 18, 1993.
They moved to Brownfield, in 1946, where they farmed until 1959.
She worked at Ruth s Beauty Shop for 15 years.
They owned and operated the Gulf Service Station in Brownfield, and then Tom s Conoco and Distributorship from 1967 until retiring in 1983.
She was a past board member of the Terry County Cemetery Association.
Martha was an active member of the Challis Home Demonstration Club for more than 50 years until moving to Houston.
She was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church of Katy, and former member of First Baptist Church of Brownfield.
Martha is also preceded in death by a son, Larry Dale in 1973; 4 brothers Bert, Donald, Wayne Polk and Harley Patterson and a sister, Billie Hennington.
Martha is survived by her son, Tom C. Pettigrew, Jr. and wife, Mary of Houston; a granddaughter, Pebble Dawson and husband, Michael of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Jaci and Swayde Roberts and Mason and Mallori Dawson.
Clarice Godwin
Memorial services for Clarice Godwin will be at 11am, Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Brownfield Church of Christ with Bob Reynolds and Bo Shero officiating.
Burial will be in Terry County Cemetery at 9am, prior to the service.
Clarice Godwin, 70, of Brownfield, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at her home in Brownfield.
She was born October 4, 1939 in Lamesa, to Clarence and Marie Cornett.
She graduated from Brownfield High School.
She attended Abilene Christian University.
Clarice married Don Godwin on February 8, 1960 in Abilene.
She and Don have been life long residents of Brownfield.
She was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ.
Clarice is survived by her husband, Don of Brownfield; a son, Clinton Godwin and wife, Celia of Broken Arrow, OK; daughter, Donice Jordan and husband, John of McKinney; 5 grandchildren, Blake Godwin, Trevor Godwin, Amanda Jordan, Casey Jordan and Stephanie Jordan.
Brad Seaton
Services for Grover Bradley Seaton, 79, of Brownfield, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 3, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Steve Carter and Pastor Chris Seaton officiating.
Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Brad passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at his home in Brownfield.
He was born June 7, 1931 in Redmud, Texas, to Grover U. and Alice M. Seaton.
He moved to Terry County, and attended Brownfield Schools.
He was a Korean Army Veteran.
He married Billie Yvonne Dunn on June 14, 1952 in Brownfield.
She preceded him in death in 1982.
Brad then married Jerinne E. Bulsterbaum on September 14, 1985 in Union. \
He was employed for many years for Terry County, until retiring.
He was a member of Brownfield Church of Christ and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Brad's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Brad is survived by his wife Jerinne of Brownfield; five daughters, Jacquelinne, Dianna and Stephanie Seaton, Brenda Langehennig and husband, Robert of Lubbock, and Donna Bradley of Flower Mound; two sisters, Julia Woodard of Brownfield, and Rose Jones of San Angelo; four grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
IMA JEAN PARRISH
Ima Jean Parrish, 89, of McKinney, formerly of Meadow, and Lubbock, died Jan. 29, 2005.
Following Mrs. Parrish's wishes, she was cremated.
A memorial service in Meadow, will be held at a later date.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charles Smith Funeral Home of McKinney.
Mrs. Parrish died Jan. 29th, 2005..
JUANITA M. ALVARADO
Juanita M. Alvarado, 77, of Brownfield, was called from this life to be with her Lord, Wednesday, Dec. 1st, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock.
Services were held Saturday, Dec. 4th, at Templo Sinai Assembly of God Church, under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors.
EARNEST CHARLES CODY, JR.
Earnest Charles Cody, Jr., age 72, of Robinson, TX, died Saturday December 4, 2004.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet, with Darrell Debo officiating.
Interment followed at Post Mt. Cemetery in Burnet.
FRANKIE BEATRICE MONTGOMERY
Services for Frankie Beatrice Montgomery, 83, of Brownfield, were held Monday, Dec. 6th, in the Brownfield First Baptist Church, with Rev. Randy Land officiating.
The services were under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Mrs. Montgomery died Friday, Dec. 3rd, 2004 in Brownfield.
LINUEL EWEL "JACK" McCRARY
Graveside services for Lineul Ewel "Jack" McCrary, 79, of Brownfield, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9th, in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
The services will be under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 8th at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Mr. McCrary, died Monday, Dec. 6th, 2004 in Amarillo.
EUGENE CUMMINGS
Services for Eugene Cummings, 56, of Brownfield, will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11th in the First United Methodist Church, with Elder Donnie Scott officiating.
The services will be under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors.
Mr. Cummings died Sunday, Dec. 5th, 2004 in Brownfield.
DOLORES MOLENDY
Dolores Molendy, age 83, longtime resident of Brownfield, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2004 in Lubbock.
No local services are planned, but interment will be in the Ascension Cemetery, in Libertyville, Ill.
JESUS CANO
Services for Jesus Cano, 95, of Brownfield, were held Saturday, Oct. 2nd in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.
Burial was in Brownfield Cemetery, under the direction of Mark A. Jones Funeral Directors.
Mr. Cano died Wednesday, Sept. 29th, 2004 in UMC in Lubbock.
