JOHNIE GAUNTT
Graveside services for Johnie Mae Gauntt, 80, of New Caney, Texas, were held Oct. 2nd in Terry County Memorial Cemetery, with Rev. Jerry Payne, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church, officiating.
The services were under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gauntt died Sept. 30th [1999] in Northeast Medical Center Hospital in Humble.
She was born Aug. 12, 1919 in Noodle, Texas, where she was raised and attended school.
She was employed by General Telephone Co. as a chief operator.
Mrs. Gauntt is survived by one daughter--Linda Powers of New Caney; one son--Michael Gauntt of San Antonio; one sister--Dora Clark of Fort Worth, and by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter--Georgia Altman in 1979.
NADINE CLANAHAN
Services for Nadine Clanahan, 80, of Fort Worth, were held Oct. 2nd in Lunn Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Calvin Beach of Dallas, officiating.
Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Clanahan died Sept. 30th [1999] in James L. West Center in Fort Worth.
She was born Feb. 3, 1919 in Erath County, and was married to Leon Clanahan on Dec. 31, 1944 in Olney.
He died on July 3, 1988.
Mrs. Clanahan lived in Tokio, for 36 years.
She had also lived in Rising Star, and Abilene, and had moved from Granbury, to Fort Worth in 1995.
She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rising Star.
She is survived by three daughters--Mary Clanahan of Granbury, Helen Clanahan of Abilene, and Bonnie Earnest of Plains; two sisters--Phebie Branch of Olney, and Wanda Battey of Victoria, and one brother--Albert C. Nix of Richland, Wash.
Mrs. Clanahan is also survived by three grandchildren--Michael Earnest of Tokio, Keith Earnest of Plains, and Jennifer Crews of Lubbock, and by three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter--Nancy Clanahan on May 24, 1990 and by one brother--Lonzo Nix on April 3, 1988.
GLADYS THOMASON
Services for Gladys Thomason, 93, of Denver City, will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2007 in the First Church of the Nazarene in Denver City, with Pastor Harold Brown officiating, assisted by Pastor Jody Talbot.
Burial in at 3 p.m. in Terry County Cemetery in Brownfield, on June 7.
The services are under the direction of Boyer Funeral Chapel of Denver City.
Gladys Farrell was born June 7, 1913 in San Angelo.
She was three years old before she was christened Gladys by her father because they were so glad to have her as the only daughter among four boys.
Gladys and Wilton (deceased) have four daughters--Virginia and F.A. Corley of Eustace; Gwendolyn and Nathan Patterson of Haskell; Sharon and Carl Huber of Hobbs, N.M. and Camelia Camay and Glenn Jennings of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
In addition to their daughters, there are 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren to complete the family.
After Wilton and his business partner, Jeff Davis, designed and patented the first spreader box in the 1950 s, paving construction became the family business.
Wilton and Gladys formed the Thomason Construction Company, Inc. which paved many of the roads and highways throughout Texas and New Mexico.
Gladys served as Vice-President, bookkeeper and office manager for many years before the company was sold in the 1980 s.
Gladys was an avid game player.
Her highly competitive nature made her a formidable opponent. ,
For many years, you would find her at the Senior Center getting in a fast game of dominoes or 42 before lunch.
Gladys cherished the time that she spent with her family, playing Mexican Train, Skip Bo and Wahoo.
She loved life and family and she will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2002; four brothers, Earl, Arp, Zack and Bob Farrell and by two grandsons, Michael Lee Lloyd in 1959 and Randy Gene Huber in 1995.
The family will have visitation on Wednesday, June 6, at the Boyer Funeral Chapel in Denver City, from 5-7 pm.
She is survived by four daughters, Virginia Wanell Corley and her husband, F.A. of Eustace; Gwendolyn Sue Patterson and her husband, Nathan of Haskell; Sharon Ann Huber and her husband, Carl of Hobbs, N.M. and Avis Camellia Jennings and her husband, Glenn of Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Mrs. Thomason is also survived by one nephew, Larry Gene Farrell and three nieces, Kathy Jo Cornatzer, Dani Lee McKenzie and Peggy Brown.
SAM E. BRIAN
LTC. Sam E. Brian (RET) Air Force Chaplain died on Monday, June 4, 2007 in San Antonio, Texas.
LOLA MAE FARRIS
Graveside services for Lola Mae Farris, 83, of Hobbs, N.M. were held at Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Brownfield Cemetery.
Interment was in Brownfield Cemetery.
FREDDIE MAX OLIVER
Services for Freddie Max Oliver, 68, of Brownfield, were held Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Bob Reynolds officiating.
Interment will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Oliver passed away Saturday, June 2, 2007 in Lubbock.

CHERRY MELCHER MEARS
A Funeral Mass for Cherry Melcher Mears, 53, of Brownwood, will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Christ the King Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 9 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
JOHN PAPA BRISCOE, JR.
Graveside services for John Papa Briscoe, Jr., 83, of Brownfield, were held Thursday, Jan. 25, in Terry County Memorial Cemetery with Don McWhorter officiating.
Mr. Briscoe died Tuesday, Jan. 23, in Brownfield.
He was born Jan. 3, 1924 in Marlow, Okla., and was married to Dee Cabe in June 1946 in Brownfield.
LOU CROWDER
Services for Lou Crowder, 71, of Midland, formerly of Brownfield, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 4 in the First Baptist Church in Brownfield, with Rev. Chris Sutton officiating.
Burial will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Crowder died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006 in Midland.
MAE WOOD
Services for Bennie Mae Wood, 93, of Brownfield, will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006 in Brownfield Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Rev. G.M. Streun officiating.
Burial was in Terry County Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Wood died Sunday, Sept. 24, in Brownfield.
She was born Aug. 25, 1913 in San Angelo, and was married to John Robert Wood on Dec. 14, 1935 in Brownfield.
He died on June 27, 1987.
ROBERTO MESQUIAS
Services for Jose Roberto Mesquias, Sr., 72, of Brownfield, were held. Friday, Aug. 16, at St. Anthony s Catholic Church in Brownfield, with Father Gerald Leatham officiating.
Rosaries were prayed Tuesday and Wednesday at Mark A. Jones Memorial Chapel.
Interment was in the Brownfield Cemetery.
He died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006 in Lubbock.
