Rudolph Alfred "Rudy" Bullacher, III, age 59 of Galveston died, Friday, January 11, 2002 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston. Funeral services are set for 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home with the Reverend Peter Jory and the Reverend Raju Samuel officiating. Masonic graveside service will follow at Galveston Memorial Park, Oakview # 6, Hitchcock, Texas, under the auspices of Harmony Lodge #6. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday where an Elk's Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm.
Born July 8, 1942 in Galveston, Texas to Rudolph Alfred Bullacher, Jr. and Thelma Jean Bell Bullacher, Rudy as everyone knew him was a retired Galveston Fire Fighter serving the people of Galveston for 24 years. Following his retirement Rudy was employed at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home where he continued to serve his friends. He was a 1961 graduate of Ball High School. He was a member of the West End Baptist Church, an ordained deacon of the First Baptist Church, a faithful choir member and church musician. A member of Harmony Masonic Lodge # 6 AF & AM, where he was Past Master, El Mina Shrine Temple, The Galveston Scottish Rite Bodies 32nd Degree, La Marque Masonic Lodge # 1325, La Marque Eastern Star former Mizpah # 2, The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elk's # 126, the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, the Night Timers Band, Merry Makers, Mainland Strings, Galveston Beach Band, Johnny Christensen Band, Art Giese Orchestra, Gene Payssee Combo, L.B. Prino Combo, Bobby Richard Group, Salt Grass Dulcimers, Santa Fe Dulcimers and the Westminster Dulcimer Band. In the eleventh grade while at Ball High School, Rudy was in a talent show at the City Auditorium and a talent scout with the Glenn Miller Band offered Rudy a job playing the bass with a starting salary in 1960 of $ 25,000.00 a year. His mother not feeling that Rudy should travel at such a young age said no and so he opted to join the Manny Green Orchestra where he remained faithful for over 40 years. While in Ball High School he went to the state band contest and won 1st place bass player in the State of Texas. Rudy played music every time an opportunity arose. He played over 20 instruments, well, and he would use his God given talent to minister to the elderly and shut-in each week as he played at many nursing homes all over the county.
Preceded in death by his parents, Rudy is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Rose Hajdukovich Bullacher who he met and married on November 27, 1963 while they were singing in the First Lutheran Church Choir; son John Bullacher; brother Robert Bullacher and wife Lucy; niece Jennifer Bullacher and nephew Ryan Bullacher all of Galveston; and a great host of extended family at West End Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, First Lutheran Church and many friends in music, fraternal organizations, and civic clubs.
Honorary pallbearers are the Board of Deacons of West End & First Baptist Churches and Galveston Area Musicians. Pallbearers are members of the Galveston Fire Department.

James was born May 15, 1942, in Galveston, Texas to the union of Willie And Dorothy Clarke Burke. He attended public school in Chicago and Galveston and was a 1961 graduate of Central High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Papago and USS Shangril. He was formerly employed with Southwestern Bell and Todd Shipyard. He accepted Christ and was nurtured at an early age at the Mt. Olive B.C under the leadership of the late Rev. E.J. Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his father; wife of youth,Yvonne Johnson Burke; brother, Harold Earl and sister, Sandra Jean.

She departed this life Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at her home. She is preceded in death by her father, Ernest J. Burton, Sr. and sister, Easter DaCosta.

Pearce was born July 8, 1922 in Brule, Nebraska to Ralph Butterfield and Margaret Pearce Butterfield. After serving 4 years in the Army, Pearce attended Lawrence Kansas University were he received a degree in Civil Engineering. Pearce worked as a Corrosion Engineer in the Petroleum Industry for many years.
Preceded in death by his parents, survivors include his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Ashley Butterfield and a sister, Madge Johnson of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Born January 20, 1931 in Sherburn, Louisiana to Syrus Manuel and Elena LeBlanc Manuel, Gertie was a gracious lady who loved her family and friends and was loved by all who knew her. She was a homemaker devoting her life to the care of her family, always being available to lend a helping hand to her friends and family. She was known for her love of music, especially Cajun music and Latino music. Ms. Canales was a devoted Astros Fan and a lover of baseball in general; she practiced her faith as a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Born December 6, 1922 in Galveston, Mrs. Carpenter had been a resident of Santa Fe since 1960, previously of Galveston. She worked at the Galveston County Tax Office for 10 years, was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she was active with the Women s Circle and a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Mainland Center Hospital. Lillie was a caring wife, mother and grandmother who liked baking and mosaics.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur William Carpenter, Jr. of Santa Fe; son, Arthur W. Carpenter, III, and his wife, Janell of Santa Fe; daughter, Janice Armstrong of Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Naomi Russo of Longview; uncle, Albert Dibella and wife, Ethel of Galveston; cousins, Karen Hurt and Susan Hand, both of Henderson; grandchildren, Arthur W. Elisa was a faithful and beloved wife of CSM (RET) Richard Carrasco for forty-five tears. They were married on July 14, 1956 in San Marcos, Texas. This union was blessed with their three loves, Velda, Charles and Zelda.

Elisa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, animal lover and babysitter who nurtured and cared for numerous children, whose friendship extends to this day. She never met a stranger and had hundreds of friends. Her hand extended out to all who needed help. Nobody will ever forget her love and tender care she gave to her precious, furry and special loves in her life, Pierre and Priscilla.
She was an avid bingo and slot machine player. Win or lose, she thoroughly enjoyed bingo nights and trips to the Coushatta Grand Casino, Louisiana. She loved to travel and her most memorable trip was her visit to Europe, where she had the opportunity to visit the Vatican.
Elisa possessed a charming and witty personality, a great sense of humor, and her special aura made her a favorite among old and young members of her family and friends.
No, there was never a dull moment when Licha was around and no one will ever fill this void that is now in our lives and forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be celebrated Monday, May 13, 2002 at 6:30 pm at Carnes brothers Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will be on Wednesday, May 15, 2002 in Lampasas, Texas.

Born March 2, 1940 in Barada, Nebraska to Victor P. Rowell and Bernice Vice Rowell. Mrs. Carter was a resident of La Marque, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was employed as a meat wrapper at Texas Super Foods retiring with over 15 years of service and was a lifetime member of the VFW post # 8248Ladies Auxiliary.

Pasquale was born February 24, 1923, in Acitrezza, Catania Sicily. He served in the United States Army with Company G, 334th Infantry Division during World War II. He was awarded the American Theater Campaign, the EAME Campaign with 3 Bronze Stars, the World War II Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and the Sharpshooter's Badge. Pasquale served as a captain of the shrimpboat "St. Anthony" and was a resident of Galveston for 68 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Grillo Castorina; and brothers, Alfio and Sam Castorino.

Josephine was born April 4, 1915, in Lockhart, Texas. She worked as a legal secretary. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Galveston, and after moving to San Antonio, she became a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church.
Josephine is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Luisa Cavazos; her father, Valente Cavazos; her sister, Anna Cavazos; and her brother, Ernest Cavazos.
She is survived by her sister, Bertha Cavazos, of San Antonio; nephew, Paul Cavazos and wife, Sherrie, of San Antonio; and two nieces, Nancy Cavazos Ruhaak and husband, David, of San Antonio; and Carol Cavazos Hopkins, of Galveston; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Washburn, Robert Washburn, Chris Hopkins, Chip Kleinecke, Harry Abbott, and Louis Viaclorsky.

Mrs. Chuoke was born January 13, 1903 on the Island of Elba, Italy to Mary and Joseph Retalie. She was a member of St. Mary s Catholic Church in Texas City.
She is preceded in death by her husband Mitchell Chuoke, brothers Johnny, Robert, Anthony and Chris Chuoke and grandchild Patti Kay Pulich.
Survivors include her son Mitchell Chuoke and wife Helen; daughters Marie Skarke and Patti Pulich and husband, Ted; grandchildren: Cathy Fitch and husband J.B., Gary Skarke and wife Eugenia, Mitchell Chuoke and wife Connie, David Skarke, Debbie Moninghoff and husband Edward, Victor Pulich and Joseph Chuoke and wife Ellen; 13 great-grandchildren; one niece and three nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Gary Skarke, Mitchell Chuoke, Jr., David Skarke, Victor Pulich, Joseph Chuoke, J. B. Fitch and Edward Moninghoff.

Mary Lee Chuoke, 92, a lifelong resident of Galveston, passed away Friday, January 25, 2002 after a brief illness.

Born November 26, 1909, to Mary and Vincent Ranieri, in Galveston, Mary Lee was introduced by family members to one of her distant relatives, Robert Chris Chuoke, Sr., whom she married in 1928. Bob Chuoke, founder of Galveston's Sunday Morning Coffee Club and former City Water Commissioner, was owner and operator of Chuoke's Plumbing until his death in 1979 at the age of 73. Bob and Mary Lee had one son, Robert Chris Chuoke, Jr. Mary Lee was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Galveston, where she taught Sunday school for many years. An accomplished woman of many interests, she belonged to the Garden Club and was also an extraordinarily talented cook and baker, decorator, and above all, a passionate lover of animals. Granny lived on her own and prepared beautiful holiday meals for her family until the age of 91. She will be deeply missed by all of her family.
Mary Lee is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chris Chuoke, Sr.; her brothers, Albert and Harry Ranieri; and her daughter-in-law, Henriette Chuoke.
She is survived by her devoted son, Robert Chris Chuoke, Jr., of Clear Lake; her sister, Marguerite Ranieri, of Galveston; her brother, Rudy Ranieri and wife, Velta, of Galveston; three grandchildren: Robert Chris Chuoke, III and wife, Candy, of League City; Diane Lee Chuoke, of Houston; and David Lee Chuoke and wife, Ronda, of Houston; two great grandchildren: David Henry Chuoke of Houston; and Robert Chris Chuoke, IV, of League City; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frank was born September 6, 1914, in Buffalo, Missouri. He served as a Captain in the U. S. Army during World War II. He worked in sales for the foodservice industry, working for Continental Coffee and Monarch Foods.
Frank was a member of the National Rifle Association and an avid collector of many things. He had many hobbies, including beekeeping, photography and woodworking. Frank was also an avid horticulturist and a lover of model railroads.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Coffman; brother, Fred B. Coffman, and sister, Mary Nell Coffman.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Magliolo and husband, Alfred, of Houston; son, Steve Coffman and wife, Judy, of Houston; grandchildren: Michael, Angela, and Anne Magliolo; Heather Lou Coffman; and Cherilyn Eudy and husband Hampton; special friend, Ruby Scher of Galveston; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Mildred was born June 2, 1926, in Henderson, Texas. She was a teacher at Centenary College in Shreveport Louisiana before her retirement in 1998 with 14 years of service. She was a resident of La Marque for 12 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Mildred is survived by her twin daughters, Virginia Lynn White and her husband, Wade, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Gwynn Boehm and her husband, David, of Victoria, Texas; two sons: Ronald Keith Collins, of La Marque; and Richard Taylor Collins, of Dallas; sister, Ozelle Weiss, of La Marque; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
