JEWELL H. HALE
Jewell H. Hale of Pampa died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 1998, at Panhandle. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jacob Clemmens, rector, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Hale was born at Sudan, Kan. She married D.L. Hale, Sr., on June 6, 1927; he died Dec. 30, 1967. She had been a Pampa resident since 1943, moving from Denver City, Texas. She was a member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, the Altar Guild and Chapter #65 of the Order of the Eastern Star of Pampa.
Survivors include a daughter, Joye Cree of Pampa; a son, D.L. Hale, Jr. of Pampa; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to St. Matthew's Episcopal Day School, 727 W. Browning, Pampa, TX 79065.

ROY DALE HALL
SHAMROCK - Roy Dale Hall, 49, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998. Services are to be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Red Dukes of Allison and the Rev. Mark Thomas of Shamrock officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Mr. Hall was born Dec. 23, 1948, at Cordell, Okla. He had been a Shamrock resident since 1968, moving from Allison where he attended school. He married Linda Bradstreet in 1969 at Shamrock. He was currently employed as supervisor for Turner Transportation of Elk City, Okla., and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Hall, in 1971.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Shamrock; two daughters, Kim Shortnancy of Shamrock and Kerri Hall of Amarillo; two brothers, Jerry Hall of Wichita, Kan., and Charles Hall of Pampa; a half-brother, Max Hall of Morrilton, Ark.; and a grandchild.
MARK WESLEY PARKS
Mark Wesley Parks, 36, of Pampa, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1998, at Weatherford, Okla. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Fred Palmer, pastor of The Carpenter's Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mr. Parks was born Dec. 20, 1961, at Fairbanks, Alaska. He moved to Pampa in 1984 from Michigan, where he was reared. He worked in the oil fields from 1984-1991 and for Elliott Glass Company in Pampa from 1991-1996. He had been a resident of Oklahoma City, Okla., since 1996. He was currently employed as a glass cutter. He was a member of Pampa Moose Lodge.
Survivors include three daughters, Amanda Parks, Kelly Parks and Brandy Parks, all of Amarillo; his parents, Raymond and Barbara Parks of Pampa; four sisters, Debora Parks of Pampa, Valerie Cole of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kathleen Kreger of Houston and Michelle Cole of Coldwater, Mich.; two brothers, Bart Parks and Scott Parks, both of Oklahoma City; his grandmother, Vivian Sain of Alma, Mich.; and special friend Laurie Helton of Oklahoma City.

PAULINE JOHNSON HOOKER
MOBEETIE - Pauline Johnson Hooker, 85, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Wheeler. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Jahnel officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler.
Mrs. Hooker was born Sept. 12, 1912, in Indian Territory, Okla., to George and Merra Johnson. She had been a Mobeetie resident since 1916, moving from Wellington. She married Vernon Hooker on July 29, 1934, at Cheyenne, Okla.; he died March 9, 1975. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church of Mobeetie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; a sister; a grandson, Vernon Dale Moore, in 1996; two great-granddaughters, Whitney Luman, on Dec. 6, 1983, and Bobbi Jo Gorley, on Sept. 23, 1986; and two son-in-laws, Don Moore, on April 5, 1992, and Mac Shelton, on March 20, 1997.
Survivors include six daughters, Mearlene Scott and Joyce McIntire, both of Amarillo, Peggy Shelton of Perryton, Ellen Moore of Tucson, Ariz., and Inez Moore and Sue Harrison, both of Mobeete; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.

LeLOIS SCHNEIDER
OLNEY - LeLois Schneider, 83, a former Pampa resident, died Wednesday, July 8, 1998, at Olney hospital. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery at Quanah with the Rev. Clint Young, pastor of First Baptist Church of Quanah, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home of Olney.
Mrs. Schneider was born Jan. 21, 1915, at Quanah, to A.E. and Lois Kelly. She graduated from high school at Quanah. She married Edwin O. Schneider on March 4, 1934, at Eldorado, Okla.; he died in July of 1973. She had been an Olney resident since 1977, moving from Pampa. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church of Olney where she was an adult Sunday school teacher. She was active in Olney Senior Club Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Germayne Lane of Mesa, Ariz., and Lois Lunsford of Greenville, S.C.; a son, E.K. Schneider of Olney; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

ELISA R. WILSON
PORTALES, N.M. - Elisa R. Wilson, 95, mother of a Pampa resident, died Sunday, July 5, 1998. Rosary was recited Thursday in Our Lady of Sorrows catholic Church at Arroyo Hondo. Memorial services were to be at 10 a.m. today in Our Lady of Sorrows. Arrangements are under the direction of Steel-Todd Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Wilson was born at Arroyo Hondo and had been a Portales resident for the past 20 years, moving from Arroyo Hondo. She was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church at Portales.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Wilson, in 1959; and by a daughter, Clementina Wilson, in 1997.
Survivors include four sons, Patrick Wilson of Pampa, Cecil Wilson and Leo Wilson, both of Arroyo Hondo, and Carl Wilson of Portales; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
MELVIN A. DAVIS
AMARILLO - Melvin A. Davis, 93, died Sunday, April 25, 1999. Services were to be at 2 p.m. today in Polk Street United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Jim Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery under the direction of Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo.
Mr. Davis was born in Bosque County. He had been a resident of the Texas Panhandle since childhood, graduating from McLean High School and Clarendon College prior to attending Midwestern University. He married Dr. Frances Benson in 1961 at Amarillo. He was a dispatcher for Burlington Railroad, retiring in 1969 after 46 years of service. He was an accountant for Jeff Bentley from 1969-76 and had resided in Plainview, Childress and Wichita Falls, moving to Amarillo in 1969.
He belonged to Polk Street United Methodist Church, McDavid Sunday School Class and was a Master Mason.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Macy Cogdell Davis, in 1959.
Survivors include his wife, Frances; two daughters, Virginia Davis Calkins of Houston and Patricia Davis Buzzell of Amarillo; a son, James M. Davis of Gainesville; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
C. NELSON DYSON
LYNWOOD, Calif. - C. Nelson Dyson, 75, died Sunday, April 25, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mr. Dyson was born March 13, 1924, at Wheeler. He graduated from Briscoe High School. He was a machinist in the aerospace industry for many years.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 23, 1943, and served during World War II, obtaining the rank of sergeant. He had been a Lynwood resident since his discharge from the military.
Survivors include four brothers, Richard Dyson of Sayre, Okla., Bill Dyson of Mobeetie and Dale Dyson and R.H. Dyson, both of Pampa.
WYNAMA 'SUSIE' HAMLIN
WEATHERFORD - Wynama "Susie" Hamlin, 55, a former Pampa resident, died Monday, April 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Assembly of God Church in Pampa with Dr. Derrell Monday, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Hamlin was born July 28, 1943, at Mineral Wells. She moved to Pampa 1949 and graduated from Pampa High School in 1961. She married James N. Hamlin in 1963 at Pampa. She had been a Weatherford resident since 1996, moving from Pampa. She was a homemaker and a hairdresser for many years.
Survivors include her husband, James, of the home; a daughter, Gina Minyard of Pampa; a son, Marke Hamlin of Pampa; four brothers, Bob Stout of Weatherford, Bill Stout and Hollis Stout, both of Parker County, Texas, and Benny Stout of Pampa; and three grandchildren.
FORREST 'WOODY' MILLER
LITTLEFIELD Forrest "Woody" Miller, 41, died Monday, April 26, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Stewart and the Rev. Gilbert Forrest, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock.
Mr. Miller was born at Tulsa. He married Kathleen Marie Skinner in 1994 at New Deal. He was employed with American Cotton Growers.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; three daughters, Carmen Lee Ann Miller of Fort Worth and Kristen Marie Miller and Makenzie Aryn Miller, both of Littlefield; two sons, Curtis Charles Miller and Forrest Kaden Miller, both of Littlefield; his parents, William Charles Miller of Canadian and Barbara Gwenette Atkinson of New Deal; two brothers, Kerry Wade Miller of Kansas City, Mo., and William Scott Miller of New Deal; a sister, Deena Suzanne Baker of Albuquerque, N.M.; three stepsisters, Ruth Ann Abraham and Melinda Hedgecoke, both of Canadian, and Dana Dennis of Amarillo; and his grandmothers, Ruby Miller of Pampa and Erma Forrest of Shallowater.

ROY LEE STEELE
Roy Lee Steele, 86, of Pampa, died Monday, April 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Nathan Bailey and Raymond Jones, both of Wells Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mr. Steele was born April 3, 1913, at Thackler, Ala. He married Alcie Bogle on March 13, 1931, at Wilson, Okla. He had been a Texas Panhandle resident since 1942, moving from Lone Grove, Okla. He had lived in the Lefors and Pampa area since 1950. He worked for Columbian Carbon Company from 1942 until retiring in 1964.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin Steele, in February of 1937, and David Lee Steele, in December of 1994; and a grandson, Darrell Angel, in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Alcie, of the home; three daughters, Maxcine Chase, Imogene Angel and Lavern Fulton, all of Pampa; a son, Dwayne Steele of LaPorte; a sister, Bertie Whitmire of Tullahoma, Tenn.; a brother, Curtis Steele of Tullahoma; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

ILENE JONES
Ilene Jones, 87, of Pampa, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Larry Brown, minister of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Ms. Jones was born March 12, 1912, at Kirkland. She married Roy N. Jones in May of 1948; he died in 1987. She had been a Pampa resident since 1948. She worked at Gibsons and Elmer's Grocery. She was a longtime member of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry McAllister.
Survivors include two daughters, Claudette Schroeder of Pampa and Teresa Carlisle of New Jersey; a son, Bill McAllister of Pampa; a sister, Dorothy West of Searcy, Ark.; a brother, T.I. Loter of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

JACK DONLEY PITCOCK
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Jack Donley Pitcock, 79, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Memorial services were held recently in Las Vegas. Arrangements were under the direction of Palm Sanctuary.
Mr. Pitcock was born at Twitty and graduated from Wheeler High School. He attended Tyler Junior College, Tyler Court Reporting School and San Antonio Junior College. He was office manager of a Houston law firm prior to retiring in 1985.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, enlisting in 1940 and retiring in 1960 as a master sergeant.
Survivors include his wife, Polly; a daughter, Sherry Weed of Las Vegas; a sister, Jan Rhine of Paradise; a brother, James K. Pitcock of Mobile, Ala.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
CYRUS HAYES REUST
GUYMON, Okla. - Cyrus Hayes Reust, 80, father of a Miami resident, died Sunday, May 2, 1999, at Tribune, Kan. Military graveside services were to be at 2 p.m. today in Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Armstrong, pastor of Guymon Nazarene Church, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home.
Mr. Reust was born at the family homestead near Guymon and attended Guymon schools. He married Evelyn Nora Hill in 1941 at Guymon. He was a farmer and a rancher and a member of Panhandle Bible Center, No Man's Land Senior Citizen's Center and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II and attaining the rank of private first class.
He was preceded in death by a twin daughter, Eloise; and by another set of twins, Iona and Ivadell.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three daughters, Elaine Hughey of Bartlesville, Carrol Bursell of Miami and Evelyn Montandon of Sharon Springs, Kan.; a son, George Knudt Reust of Guymon; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

MARY FRANCES GUINN
Mary Frances Guinn, 71, of Pampa, died Aug. 28, 1999. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, and Dr. Derrell Monday, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Guinn was born May 23, 1928, at Rising Star. She married Jerry H. Guinn on March 19, 1950, at Pampa. She had lived in Amarillo for 12 years and Odessa for 18 months prior to returning to Pampa in 1973 when her husband founded Serfco.
She belonged to Central Baptist Church where she was nursery coordinator for 25 years.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of the home; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sherry Guinn of Tyler, Terri and Ronnie Williams of Pampa and Kari and Mike Parker of Lubbock; a brother, Albert Jones of Amarillo; and five grandsons, Shane and Seth Williams of Pampa, Kody and Tyler Parker of Lubbock and Cole Parker of Levelland.

LOLA B. HOLMES BRANNON
SHAMROCK Lola B. Holmes Brannon, 85, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Rogers of Lubbock, former pastor, and the Rev. John Dorn officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery under the direction of Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Mrs. Brannon was born at Shamrock and had been a Shamrock resident most of her life, graduating from Shamrock High School in 1930. She was Miss Shamrock the same year. She attended Texas State College for Women and Julliard School of Music in New York. She married H. Cabot Brannon on Aug. 5, 1934, at Shamrock. The couple operated Brannon's Shamrock Builder's Supply for several years.
She taught music in Shamrock public schools as well as private organ and piano lessons for many years. In 1987, she was awarded Texas Panhandle Distinguished Women's Service in Fine Arts Award and was recognized by Amarillo Women's Forum for outstanding community achievement. She belonged to Thursday Fine Arts Club, 1935 Forum Club and First United Methodist Church of Shamrock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Wendell Holmes; two brothers-in-law, Robley S. Brannon and Ben F. Brannon; and a sister-in-law, Jean Holmes.
Survivors include her husband, H. Cabot, of Shamrock; a daughter, Ann Brannon of Kermit; a son, Holmes Brannon of Fort Worth; a brother, William Worth Holmes of Beverly Shores, Ind.; and five grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be in lieu of flowers to Shamrock Public Library.
ALTA MARIE BAKER BROWN
WOODWARD, Okla. Alta Marie Baker Brown, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at Tender Heart Health Care. Services were to be at 10:30 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Russell Duck and the Rev. Tony Barros officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa under the direction of Billings Funeral Home of Woodward.
Mrs. Brown was born Nov. 24, 1915, at Healdton, Okla., to Andrew and Birdie Sargeant Baker. In 1928, the family moved to Lefors and she graduated from Lefors High School in 1935. She married Robert "Bob" Brown on June 22, 1935, at Sayre, Okla.; he died Aug. 5, 1990. The couple lived at Lefors until moving to Seminole, Okla., in 1957, to Corpus Christi in 1958 and to Woodward in 1962. She worked for J.C. Penneys in 1963 and was employed at Hopkins Shoe Store for several years.
She belonged to First Baptist Church, teaching Junior High Girls Sunday School Class in the 1960s, and was a member of Woodward Coterie Club.
She was a devoted and loving wife, wonderful mother and caring Nanny to her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and was happiest when in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew, Macky Brown; a granddaughter, Sarah Beth Quisenberry; and a brother-in-law, Max Brown.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jimmie Pospisil of Woodward and Beverly and Jim Quisenberry of Plano; a sister, Alma Brown of Stinnett; five grandchildren, Kimberly Hale and husband Robert of London, England, Kristi Abernathy and husband Jeff of Rogers, Ark., Amy Siefke and husband Mike of Oklahoma City, Okla., Gail Quisenberry of Dallas, and Jimmie R. Pospisil and wife Amy of Weatherford; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Abernathy and Drayton Abernathy, both of Rogers; a special niece, Kay Dozier and husband Bill of Dallas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

VANCE BRUCE
Vance Bruce, 41, of Pampa, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2000. Services are pending under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mr. Bruce was born Dec. 6, 1958, at Pampa. He graduated from Pampa High School in 1977 and attended Texas Tech University. He married Lynda Stroud on Oct. 21, 1978, at Pampa. He worked for IRI and was later employed in the optical field for 15 years. He was presently employed with Broom Optical in Amarillo.
He belonged to Trinity Fellowship Church, serving as the church's sound technician and softball coach.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda, of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Private First Class Jerry Ryan Bruce of South Korea and Christian Edward and Amanda Bruce of Pampa; his parents, Jerry and Barbara Bruce of Pampa; a father- and mother-in-law, Ed and Carolyn Stroud of Pampa; a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Bruce of Pampa; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many close, precious friends.

PEGGY BEATRICE EVANS
Peggy Beatrice Evans, 70, of Pampa, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Nachtigall officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Evans was born Oct. 7, 1929, at Ulysses, Kan. She married Don Evans on Feb. 1, 1947, at Liberal, Kan. She had been a Pampa resident since 1951. She worked for Montgomery Wards for 17 years and owned-operated The Clothes Line, a women's clothing store.
She belonged to Highland Baptist Church and volunteered at Pampa Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her husband, Don, of the home; a daughter, Leslie Gordy of White Deer; two sons, Greg Evans of Amarillo and Mike Evans of Pampa; a sister, JoAnn Pinkerton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Leland Allen of Hugoton, Kan., Dale Allen of Eaton Rapids, Mich., and Brooks Allen of Palisade, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

L.E. JENKINS JR.
AMARILLO L.E. Jenkins Jr., 77, brother of a Pampa resident, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bell Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Logan officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors of Amarillo.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Hall County. He married Juanita Bruce in 1948 at Childress. He had been an Amarillo resident since 1995, moving from Dumas. He was in the insurance business and was a retired distributor of Amarillo Globe-News in Perryton, Pampa, Panhandle and Dumas.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita; a son, Larry Jenkins of Amarillo; two sisters, Louava Hunter of Benton, Ark., and Thelma Walker of Amarillo; and four brothers, Rudolph Jenkins of Pampa, Ray Jenkins of Blackwell, Wayne Jenkins of Lee's Summit, Mo., and Jimmy Jenkins of Abilene.

RAYMOND JEWELL
AMARILLO Raymond Jewell, 79, brother of a Pampa resident, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000. Services were to be at 10 a.m. today in Valleyview Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Wayne Hicks, of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home of Amarillo.
Mr. Jewell was born at Balko, Okla. He married Edith Pauline Combs in 1940 at Davenport, Okla. He had been an Amarillo resident since 1950, moving from Perryton. He was a truck driver and belonged to Teamster Retiree Club.
He was a member of Valleyview Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his wife, Edith; a daughter, Sherri Cruz of Amarillo; a son, Ronnie Jewell of Amarillo; a sister, Evelyn Holdaway of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be to Valleyview Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
BEA HALL
Bea Hall, 78, of Pampa, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Borger. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Gillmore, pastor of Riverview Baptist Church of Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Hall was born Jan. 10, 1922, at Betsy Layne, Ky. She married Estill Hall on April 15, 1940, at Banner, Ky.; he died in 1970. She had been a Pampa resident since 1950, moving from Banner. She was cafeteria manager at Coronado Nursing Center for 10 years and belonged to Freewill Baptist Church in Wheelwright, Ky.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Rex Pryor, in 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Glema Pryor of Stinnett; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwayne and Cindy Hall of Skellytown and Ray and Peggy Hall of Pampa; five sisters, Anita Ann Farmer of Lawton, Okla., Billie Doris Guilliam of Roseville, Mich., Linda Susan Wilson and Ruth Caldwell, both of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Margaret Wilbur of Lebanon, Ky.; eight grandchildren, James Pryor Jr., Danita Sanders, Dawn Re'nee Pritchard, Amy Jo Sloan, Marcus Hall, ReDonn Woods, Rita Rogers and Cory Hall; and 11 great-grandchildren, Shoshawna Pryor, Kaylee Sanders, Ashlee Sanders, Hunter Hall, Christopher Hall, Jake Sloan, Rachael Sloan, Cody Sloan, Danielle Pritchard, David Pritchard and Marie Perez.
GLADYS E. STONE
Gladys E. Stone, 85, of Pampa, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Oceanside, Calif. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.
Mrs. Stone was born Nov. 27, 1914, at Pulco, Kan. She married Hubert M. Stone on July 20, 1935, in Oklahoma; he died in May of 1993. She lived at Phillips from 1935 until moving to Pampa in 1939. She was a homemaker and belonged to First United Methodist Church and Clara Hill Sunday School Class of Pampa. She was a member and past president of Pampa Home Demonstration Club.
She moved to Oceanside in August of 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Katheryn C. Griffin of Oceanside; two sons, Marion F. Stone of Jacksonville, N.C., and Rowland D. Stone of Oceanside; a sister, Nellie Baldwin of Holdenville, Okla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
HARRY R. WOOD
ALAMOGORDO, N.M. Harry R. Wood, 93, a former Pampa resident, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000. Graveside services were Wednesday in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Dr. Jim Garrett, of Polk Street United Methodist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tom Richardson and the Rev. Jack Moffatt officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sears Alamogordo Funeral Home.
Mr. Wood was born at Mexia, Texas. His family moved to the New Mexico territory and homesteaded at Delphos. He grew up at Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School. He married Alice King in 1927; she preceded him in death. He moved to Happy and the couple owned a grocery store there. He later owned a butane business in Tucumcari, N.M. He worked for Whites Auto from 1965 until retiring in 1979.
He married Geraldine Hasty in 1987.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving three years during World War II and participating in the Battle of the Bulge.
He belonged to Grace United Methodist Church, Parkinson's Support Group and Alamo Senior Center. He was a member of ASC Nutrition Board.
He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Alice Rae.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; two sons, Brad Hasty of Cedar City, Utah, and Charles Hasty of Burlington, Wash.; three sisters, Lorene McCarty and Rose Johns, both of Amarillo, and Joan Harris of Salina, Kan.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorials be in lieu of flowers to Grace United Methodist Church, 16th and Cuba, Alamogordo, N.M.; or to Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk, Amarillo, TX 79101.
