She had lived in Longview since 1961. Mrs. Henderson retired from Louis Morgan Drug Store after 30 years as a pharmacist. She was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Elwood Ray Henderson of Longview; one son, Eric Henderson of Longview; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Laine Godfrey of Mount Pleasant; three grandchildren, Taylor Laithe and Reese and Fenton Godfrey, all of Mount Pleasant; one sister-in-law, Loretta Bradbury of Oklahoma City, Okla.; one nephew, Kevin Bradbury of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five cousins, Linda Minor and Michael Minor, both of Marlin, and Brenda Jones, Jeremy and Julie Jones, all of Comanche. Annie Mae Ellis Watkins, daughter of Arthur and Emma Lee Ellis, was born June 3, 1920, in Sledge, Miss. She attended public school and later moved to Longview and united with Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of B.T. Webster. She later joined the Greater Mount Gideon Baptist Church under the leadership of the Rev. Robert E. Jones. Mrs. Watkins continued to be a faithful servant of the Lord until the calling of her destiny, to be with Him. Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to mourn her six children, M.C. Stoxstell, Leroy Stoxstell, John Stoxstell, Alex Watkins Jr., Eva M. Mathis and Sharon Watkins, all of Longview; one sister, Teresa Rushing of St. Louis; one brother, Chester Ellis of South Bend, Ind.; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. today, Aug. 14, at Citizens Funeral Home. Mr. Ashmore was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Wortham. He was a member of South Main Church of Christ. Mr. Ashmore was retired for the Longview New Journal, where he was a printer. He had worked for the Henderson Daily News for 17 years. Mr. Ashmore was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Good Sams Travel Club and was a rancher. He loved working his cattle and enjoyed the outdoors. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Nelle Ashmore of Henderson; one son, Dave Ashmore of Kilgore; one daughter and son-in-law, Amee and Tommy Edgar of Longview; one granddaughter, April Daily of Richmond, Va.; two grandsons, Clint Edgar of Longview and Jacob Edgar of Austin; one sister, Mary Ann Sewell of Spring; two nieces, Paula Hale of White Oak and Pamela Dean of Richardson; and two sisters-in-law, Pauline Propes of Henderson and Jo Ann Ashmore of LaPorte. DALLAS — Beverlee High Hanson, 75, a wonderful and caring daughter, mother, sister, aunt and friend, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, after a long illness. Born in Fort Worth on Aug. 28, 1925, she attended North Texas State and in 1946 graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in music. An accomplished concert violinist, Mrs. Hanson played with the Longview Symphony. She is remembered for her lively spirit and witty sense of humor, Mrs. Hanson was preceded in death by her elder son, Wanz Craig, and her parents, Thomas and Lettie High. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Karl and Susan Hanson and Kyle and Susan Hanson; her sister, Bronson Charles; her grandchildren, Evan and Savannah Hanson and Erin and Clayton Hanson; her nieces, Dr. Suzanne Black and Nancy Black and her son, Preston; and two nephews, Warren Mitchell Black Jr. and Randy Black and his wife, Olga, and daughter, Natalya. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Chapel East of Hillcrest Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Sparkman/Hill- crest, (214) 363-5401. WACO — Frances Reynolds “Frannie” McNiel, 76, of Waco, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at her residence. Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Nov. 10, at Central Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert H. Crilley officiating. Visitation was 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. McNiel was born May 5, 1924, in Craig County, Va. She graduated from Maywood High School in 1942 as salutatorian. She attended Southern Seminary College in Buena Vista, Va. On March 21, 1946, she married Charles B. McNiel in Blacksburg, Va. She was a homemaker, rearing three children. A former resident of Longview, she had lived in Waco for the past 21/2 years. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. While in Longview, they were members of the Church of the Holy Trinity. Survivors include a daughter, Dinah B. Siemon, and her husband, Randall, of Waco; two sons, Bruce McNiel and his wife, Melanie, of Longview and Donald McNiel and his wife, Rhonda, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia Huffman of Huffman, Va., and Marie Dobyns of Craig County, Va.; and six grandchildren, Brian McNiel and his wife, Carrie, Alyssa McNiel, Caroline McNiel, Randall Benjamin Siemon, Michael Charles Siemon and Douglas Edward Siemon. Mrs. Watts died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, in Longview. She was born April 28, 1914, to James Henry and Emma McKissack Patty in the Harris Chapel community in Panola County. She attended Harris Chapel schools. She lived most of her life in Galveston, where she worked at American National Insurance Co. as a department head in charge of the claims department. She retired in 1981 and returned to Panola County. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Hortman, and two half-sisters, Opal Matthews and Ima Tatum. Survivors include one sister, Darrance Kelley of Tatum; her nieces and nephews, Linda Ratcliff and her husband, Eddie, of Tatum, Dwight Kelley of Tatum, Deborah Shivers and her husband, David, of Tatum, James Hortman and his wife, Reyna, of Longview, Jeannie Walsh and her husband, Mack, of Marshall, Leonard Hortman and his wife, Carol, also of Marshall, and Kenneth Hortman and his wife, Norma, of Rogers, Ark.; three special great-nieces, Tammy Shivers, Kristy Kelley and Kelley Shivers, all of Tatum; and a host of friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Kelley, James Hortman, Mack Walsh, Leonard Hortman, Kenneth Hortman, David Shivers and Eddie Ratcliff. KILGORE — Services for Nova Ellen Southwell Adamson, 88, of Kilgore will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Kilgore with the Rev. Buddy Duggins officiating. Burial will follow in Kilgore Cemetery. Mrs. Adamson died Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, in Longview. Mrs. Adamson was born March 14, 1912, in Coleman. She grew up in Mexia, where she married her high school sweetheart, J.E. “Eddie” Adamson on Sept. 15, 1930. She and her husband moved to Kilgore in 1932 to work for the American Supply Co. In 1945, they formed the Sabine Pipe and Supply Co., where she was an officer and director until her death. Mrs. Adamson was a longtime member of the Assembly of God Church and a founding member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #630 and a former board member of Daniel Children’s Home of Fairfield. Mrs. Adamson was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Sammy and Emogene Adamson of Longview, Johnny and Nova Nadine Adamson of Kilgore and Bill and Nancy Adamson of Lake Cherokee; one sister, Melba Rogers of Arlington; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Adamson was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Anna Southwell; her husbands, J.E. “Eddie” Adamson and L.F. “Les” Shivers; one sister, Mary Pitts Baughman of Henderson; and two brothers, Walt Southwell of Kilgore and Ussery Southwell of Mexia.
