Oscar “Ike” Paul Bonds of San Antonio died Tuesday, July 31, at Country Care Manor at the age of 74.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, at Finch Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, at Finch Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Gale officiating.
Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.

Services will be held Saturday Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. at Finch Funeral Chapel in Stockdale with the Rev. Harry West officiating.
John Reid Bohmann
John Reid Bohmann passed away Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001. John was preceded in death by mother Leta Bohmann and survived by father Elton Bohmann of Seguin, sons Scott Travis, Jason (Rayna) and granddaughter Annika from Houston and Justin of San Antonio. John is also survived by siblings Sandra Bohmann Debner of Minneapolis, Robert Bohmann of Austin, Aunt Esta (Fritz) Linnstaeder and numerous nephews and nieces.
John was born March 11, 1947, in Freer, Texas. John graduated from Seguin High School and Texas Lutheran College. He served as a captain and instructor pilot in the USAF and owned the El Dorado Insurance Agency in San Antonio.
John won numerous honors and medals in basketball and golf at both Seguin High School and Texas Lutheran. In 1996 he was inducted into the NAIA Golf Hall of Fame in Tulsa, Okla.
Visitation will be at Goetz Funeral Home Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, from 5-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at Emanuel's Lutheran Church in Seguin with Pastor Haug officiating.
Interment will follow at the Guadalupe Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Texas Lutheran Golf Program or a charity of your choice.

Virginia U. Corley, 76, passed away Oct. 19, 2001, in Seguin, Texas.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at 2 p.m. at Goetz Memorial Chapel with the Rev. David Eikenburg officiating. Interment at San Geronimo Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct 19, 2001, from 5-9 p.m.
She was a member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio.
She is survived by one son, Robert L. Corley and wife Lorrie of Seguin; six grandchildren, Denise Knibbe of Bandera, Sandra Little of Iowa, Suzanne Corley of Austin, Renee Billing, Dawn White and Wade Trost of Seguin; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Elbra Thompson and one step-sister, Edna Mae Carls; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert A. Corley Jr.; her parents, Henry and Viola Underwood; two brothers, Raymond Underwood and E.V. Underwood; and two sisters, Georgia Meirhead and Martha Faye Underwood.

Manuel C. Gonzales was called by God into eternity Oct. 17, 2001, at the age of 76. Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his son, Diego Gonzales; his mother, Anita Valdez and his father, Jose Gonzales. He is survived by his wife Mary G. Gonzales of Seguin; one son, Joe A. Gonzales and wife Esther of Seguin; daughter Ra-chael Espinoza and husband Juan of Houston; Irma Gonzales and husband Jorge Hernandez of Seguin; Imelda Herrera and husband Greg of Seguin; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Mar-ciano Gonzales and Robert Gonzlaes of Seguin; five sisters, Esperanza Gonza-les of Seguin; Velia Polanco of Portland, Texas, Josie Marez of Seguin, Anita Flores of Coppers Field, Texas and Elsa Maldonado of Seguin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, from noon until 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 20, 2001, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow in San Geronimo Cemetery.

A. M. (Buddy) Lindeman, Jr.
A. M. (Buddy) Lindeman, Jr., 68, of Seguin, passed away Sept. 28, 2002, in Brussels, Belgium. Buddy was born Nov. 22, 1933 in Gonzales, Texas, to A. M. Lindeman, Sr. and Louise Jank Lindeman.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Monthalia United Methodist Church and was a 34-year member of the First United Methodist Church in Seguin.
He was a graduate of Gonzales High School and the Texas A&M University Class of ‘57. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He has been active in the poultry and ranching industries for 45 years and began Buddy’s Natural Chickens in 1988.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Ruby Johnson Lindeman; children, Lisa Dowdy and husband Tom, David Lindeman and wife Linda and Susan Bullinger and husband Pat; grandchildren, Collin and Ian Dowdy, Kara, Kate and Kendra Lindeman and Jace and Cade Bullinger; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bill and Bobbie Johnson, Dorothy and Albert Springs and Fletcher and Jane Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at First United Methodist Church in Seguin, with the Rev. Lonnie Phillips and the Rev. Linda Montgomery officiating. Graveside services and
interment will follow in the Gonzales Masonic Cemetery in Gonzales at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CLC at the First United Methodist Church of Seguin, American Heart Association, Boysville or the American Cancer Society.

April Lee Collins Montgomery of Chicago, Ill. was born April 6,

Daniel Ojeda Llanez, 61, of La Vernia, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Stockdale Nursing Center.
Visitation will be held 4-9 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Finch Funeral Chapel in La Vernia. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Galdino “Jimmy” Garcia Sr. of Seguin, Texas died Thursday, March 27, 2003 at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife Maria Garcia of Seguin; daughters Gracie Monclova and husband Rod of Seguin and Glenda Lopez of husband Alex of Seguin; son Jimmy Garcia Jr. and wife Patty of San Antonio; brother Guadalupe Garcia Jr. and wife Janie of Seguin, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday, March 28, 2003 from 5-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A funeral service was held Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 10 a.m. at Palmer Mortuary Chapel. Interment followed in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery. Arrangements by Palmer Mortuary.
Nancy Claire Turner McCoy
Nancy Claire Turner McCoy, 75, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, in Seguin, Texas.
She was born December 18, 1927, in Houston, Texas, to Dr. John Harolde Turner and his wife, Carrie McMickin Johnson Turner.
She graduated from The Madeira School, completed two years at Bryn Mawr College, and became a life-long learner. She was proud to earn a Bachelor of liberal studies degree in December 1997, from St. Edward’s University, which honored her as “Outstanding New College Graduate 1997-98.”
A woman of many interests, abilities, and achievements, she gave generously of herself to her family, friends and community.
A sixth-generation Texan, she lived in Italy, Venezuela, Libya and Trinidad at various times in her life, but always returned to her home state. She will be remembered for her great spirit of adventure and joy, her courage, her willingness to volunteer wherever she saw a need and her dedication to any task she undertook.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Libbie Wessendorff Rice.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer McCoy, Jr., her daughter Loren Carter Rice, son-in-law Dr. Gary Allen Flusche, and grandson Stephen Carter Flusche, of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by cousins Anne Baldwin and Jane Johnson Lain, of Houston, and Joe Clyde Wessendorff, of Richmond, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug.16, 2003, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 201 Nolte Street, Seguin, Texas. A burial service will follow at 5:15 p.m. at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, Texas.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, aides and friends who provided care and support during her illness.

Susie Inez Barber
Susie Inez Barber, 87, of Stockdale passed away Friday, August 8, 2003.
At Mrs. Barber’s request there will be no services.
She was born January 1, 1916 in Crowville, La. the daughter of Francis Stuart and Elizabeth Thorne Stuart.
On Aug.17, 1935 she married Walter G. Barber in Beeville, Texas. She is survived by her husband Walter of Stockdale; sons, Adrian G. Barber and wife Anita of Anchorage, Alaska, Jerry L. Barber and wife Jann of Stockdale, Texas, Edward L. Barber and wife Susan of Anchorage, Alaska, and Donald F. Concha R. Gonzales, age 83, of Seguin, passed away in San Antonio on Aug. 7, 2003. Lonzal McRae
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at the Silver City Baptist Church for Lonzal McRae. Officiating was the Rev. Ryan Humble. Vocalists, Jasoin Bradley and Kayla Zunker provided special music. Serving as casketbearers were John Keith Humble, Brian Humble, Mike Cole, Ricky Kleim, Larry Joe McRae and Mike Storey. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Don Smith Funeral Home.
Lonzal McRae was born Sept. 26, 1930 at Memphis, Tenn., the son of the late John and Eddie Lonzal. Lonzal had served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 24, 1955, L.H. and Joyce Humble were united in marriage at Luxora, Ark. Formerly of Seguin, Texas, L.H. and Joyce have been making their home in Stroud, Okla., for the past four years. In addition to his parents, L.H. was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. L.H. departed this life Aug, 5, 2003 at the age of 72 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, of the home; his sons, Harold McRae and Arlin McRae, both of Seguin, Texas; daughters, Regina Zunker, Corinth, Texas and Melissa Mahone, Elgin, Texas; one brother, James Wesley McRae, Victoria, Texas; sisters, Mary Chafin, Jonesboro, Ark., and Shirley Young, Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Jennifer and Sarah McRae, Garrett McRae, Josh Reams, Shane Mahone, Krissie Mahone, Kayla, Ty and Coy Zunker and one great-grandchild, Ronnie Romero Rodriguez, Jr.
Willie Mae Engbrock Morawietz
Willie Mae Engbrock Morawietz passed away Nov. 28, 2003, at the age of 100. Mass of the resurrection was recited at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at St. James Catholic Church with Msgr. Albert Hubertus officiating. Interment was held at St. James Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held from 3-5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003, at St. James Catholic Church, with a rosary recited at 5 p.m.
Willie Mae was born Nov. 4, 1903, in El Campo to William J. Engbrock and Mary Burtchell Engbrock. They moved to Seguin from El Campo when she was 3 years old. Willie Mae graduated from what is now known as Saint James School and attended Draughan’s Business College. Upon graduating from business college, she accepted a banking job in Falls City. It was while working at the bank she met her husband, Louis Thomas Morawietz. They were married Nov. 18, 1928, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Falls City. Ten years later, they moved to Seguin, where Louis joined his wife’s father and brother in the produce business.
Louis later ran for and was elected Justice of the Peace, Pct. 1, Guadalupe County. Louis served that office for numerous years, until his untimely death in August 1961. Willie Mae was offered the unexpired term of Louis, and accepted. Willie Mae then ran for and was elected to that office until she retired in 1978. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Circle, Seguin Fire Department Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers Jerome, Robert and Monroe Engbrock; and sisters Dorothy Heinemeyer, Josie Schulz and Lavine Jaeckle. Surviving are a sister, Margaret Norris, New Braunfels, and brother Anthony Engbrock and wife Rowena of Cuero. She will be missed by her children, Mary and husband Cleve Hunter, of Kerrville, Betty and husband Reg Ponsford III of California, Donald and wife Barbara Morawietz and Larry Morawietz and Karen Lewis, all of Seguin; grandchildren, Shane Churchwell, Michelle Churchwell Fite, Reg Ponsford IV, Brad Ponsford, Shawn Ponsford, Christie Morawietz Aldridge, Kary Morawietz, Kim Morawietz, Larry Louis, Erin, Dawn and Patrick, all of California; and great-grandchildren, Cory Fite, Kye and Kory Morawietz, Carson Aldridge, Kohl and Jake Ponsford and McKenzie and Quentin Ponsford.

Karl Lehmann Sr.
Karl Lehmann Sr., 92, of Staples, passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003. Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m., Tuesday, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Goetz Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2003, at Goetz Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels.
Mr. Lehmann was born Aug. 29, 1911, in Redwood, the son of Charles Lehmann and Lydia Rauch Lehmann. He was a farmer and rancher in the Staples area all his life. Mr. Lehmann is survived by his daughter, LaVerne Luensmann and husband Richard of Marion; sons, Karl Lehmann Jr. of Staples and Dan Lehmann and wife Lucille of Staples; two grandsons, Horace Luensmann and wife Laura of Marion and Aric Lehmann of Staples; and two great-granddaughters, Kayla and Sabrina Luensmann of Marion. He was preceded in death by his wife Lola Wersterfer Lehmann; parents Charles and Lydia Lehmann; brothers, Arnold, Valentine, Oswald, Erwin and Adolph Lehmann; and sisters, Elsa Bierstedt and Thekla Wersterfer.
