Elvin Carlton Gibson
Mr. Elvin Carlton Gibson, 61, of Houston, died in that city Tuesday.
Mr. Gibson was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Waller Chapel, with the Rev. J. V. Lewis and the Rev. J. T. Williams officiating. Burial will be in the Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Oma Dell Gibson of Houston; two sons, Terry and Gerald Gibson, both of Houston; two brothers, Jack Gibson of Crockett and Henry Gibson of Kennard; three sisters, Mrs. Jimmy Troutman and Mrs. Lena Bruce, both o Kennard, and Mrs. Grace Gunnels of Crockett; three grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Nora Wheeler Gibson
Mrs. Nora Wheeler Gibson, age 63, passed away in Santa Ana, Calif., of a heart attack, Dec. 4, 1970.
Mrs. Gibson was the wife of Gilbert Gibson, former merchant of Crockett. They had retired from business in Terrell three months ago and moved to Santa Ana. Calif.
Funeral services were conducted in the Saddleback Chapel in Tustin, Calif., on Dec. 7, and burial was in Fairhaven Memorial Park.
Other survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Sara Dabney, and four grandsons, of Santa Ana, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Stokes of Caldwell, Texas

Mrs. Lula Mae Gibson
Mrs. Lula Mae Gibson, 63, of Crockett, passed away Sunday morning, Sept. 10, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Gibson was born on April 6, 1909, in Houston County, and was a lifelong resident of this county. She was a member of the Ivie Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. E. D. Sarratt officiating. Interment was in the Ivie Cemetery, near Kennard.

Survivors include the husband, Louis Jackson Gibson of Crockett; three daughters, Mrs. Paul May of Crockett, Mrs. Boyce Gilbert of Houston and Mrs. Harvey Suttle Jr. of Nineveh; two sons, Jack Gibson Jr. of Cypress and Lonnell Gibson of Houston; five sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Selman, Mrs. Rosie Selman, and Mrs. Thelma Munzinger, all of Crockett, Mrs. Gertie McGuire of Elkhart and Miss Helen Hale of Dallas; two brothers, John Hale of Crockett and Cecil Hale of Houston; her mother, Mrs. Tallie Hale of Crockett; and 14 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Henry Edward Gibson, 70, were held at 2 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Callaway Memorial Chapel.
Rev. James Stuckey and Rev. E. D. Sarratt officiated. Burial was in the Ivie Cemetery.
Mr. Gibson, a resident of Kennard, died Feb. 11 in Houston County Hospital.
He was born Jan. 11, 1905 in Oklahoma and had lived in Houston County since 1930. He was a member of the Ivie Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtie Gibson of Kennard; a son. Melvin Gibson of Freeport; two daughters, Mrs. Bettie Tilley of Crockett and Mrs. Ruth Pyle of Kennard, a brother, Jack Gibson of Crockett.
Also, three sisters, Mrs. Jimmie Troutman and Mrs. Lena Bruce, both of Kennard, and Mrs. Grace Gunnels of Crockett; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Benford Harrison, Arlon Gunnels, Lonnell Gibson, Paul Hill, Cleeland Hill, and Jim Corbitt.

Mrs. Gilbert was born on Oct 25, 1890, in Houston County. She was a lifelong resident of the county, and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God.

L. and Royce Gilbert of Houston, and Oscar Gilbert of Orange; five daughters, Mrs. Mae Winter and Mrs. Gessie Coborn of Crockett, Mrs. Lillian Tilley of Centerville, Mrs. Loretta Holmes of Pennington, and Mrs. Willie Henley of Weches; a brother, Walter Bennett of Crockett; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Womack of Crockett; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

Mr. Herbert Leo Gilbert, 64, of Houston, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Gilbert, a retired employee of the Department of Corrections, was born in Trinity, but had lived in Houston the last 10 years. He was a member of a Baptist church.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Calvary Baptist Church in Trinity, with Rev. McKnight officiating. Burial was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Sallie Gilbert of Houston; three sons, Herbert Gilbert Jr., of Trinity, C. A. Freddie Ray Gilbreath, Jr., 3-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Ray Gilbreath of Dickinson, died Tuesday, Jan 6, in a Crockett hospital.
Graveside services were held at the English Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan 7, with the Rev. Don Austin officiating.
Survivors, besides the parents, are the grandparents, Ray Gilbreath of Dickinson, Mrs. Hazel Martin of Houston, and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Martin of Houston; and great-grandmother, Mrs. Bryan Ellis of Crockett.

Funeral services for little Sherry Lynn Giles, 2 months, of Route 6, Box 131A, Palestine, (Montalba) were held Sunday, October 20, at 2:30 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel, Palestine, with the Rev. Theo Johnson officiating. Burial was in Roselawn Park, Palestine.
Pallbearers were Roger Vance, Veri Vance, Glenn White, and Bill Kubin.
Sherry Lynn was born August 9, 1974 in Palestine in James Ralph Giles and Judy Ann Parker Giles, and she died Friday afternoon in her home following a sudden illness.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Giles, Montalba, and Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Parker of Houston; great grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Vest of Grapeland, and Mrs. Nora Parker of Crockett; a brother, James R. Giles Jr. of Montalba.

Marcus Edward Giller
Funeral services for Marcus Edward Giller, 71, of Route 3, Grapeland, were held Thursday, February 27, at 4:00 p.m. in the Church of Christ, Grapeland, with James W. Mosley officiating. Burial was in the Livelyville Cemetery, near Grapeland, under the direction of Hassell & Foster.
Pallbearers: Floyd Salmon, Clean Salmon, G. W. Marshall, Herman Earl Owens, Homer martin and Don Giller.
Mr. Giller was born in Illinois on June 7, 1903, a son of Frank and Ida R. Giller and he died Wednesday, February 26,, at 2:15 p.m. in a Grapeland hospital following a brief illness. A retired farmer, he had resided at Route 3, Grapeland for the past year. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mary Belle Pennington Giller, on July 1, 1953.
Survivors: mother, Mrs. Ida Giller, Pearsall; a daughter, Mrs. G. W. (Marcellee) Ivey of Houston; a brother, Francis Giller, Pearsall; a sister-in-law, Mrs. H. L. Masters of Grapeland.

E. L. (Mike) Gilmore
Funeral services for E. I. (Mike) Gilmore, of Elkhart, 71, were held Friday at 2:00 p.m., June 23, 1972 in Hassell & Foster Chapel in Palestine with the Rev. John Barfield and the Rev. Horace Fletcher officiating. Burial was in the Roselawn park, Palestine, under the direction of Hassell and Foster.
Nephews served as Pallbearers.
Native and lifelong resident of Anderson County, Mr. Gilmore was born September 28, 1900, and he died Wednesday June 21, 1972, at 8:43p.m. in a Palestine hospital after a short illness. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elkhart, and of the Elkhart Masonic Lodge. Mr. Gilmore was also a former Anderson County Commissioner and former employee of Campbell-Kay Construction Company of Tyler; at the time of his death, he was serving as foreman of the Pennington Construction Company of Grapeland

Mrs. Bryant (Ola C.) Gilmore, of Route 3, Grapeland, died Friday, July 14, in Memorial Hospital at the age of 79.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Slocum United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Barfield officiating. Burial followed in the Strong Memorial Park.
Pallbearers for the funeral were E. W. Monk, Thomas T. Wright, George F. Clark, Jr., Roy Corley, Kerby Smith, Raymond Tillman, LaVaughan Mixon, Pace McDonald III, Jack Franke and Elward Kendall Alford.
Mrs. Gilmore was a native and lifelong resident of Anderson County and a member of the Slocum United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bryant Gilmore; two sons, Raymond Filmore of Nacogdoches and Grady Gilmore of Slocum; two daughters, Mrs. E. B. Alford of Palestine and Mrs. Arthur Averitte of Slocum; six grandchildren; five brothers, Martin Hassell, Leonard Hassell, Forest Hassell and Clarence Hassell, all of Rusk, and Will Hassell of Alto; and two sisters, Mrs. Lottie Sullivan of Killeen and Mrs. Annie Mae Moseley of Rusk.

Funeral services for Edgar Eugene Gilson, 41, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel.

Mr. Gilson, a resident of Timpson, died Dec. 5 in a Shreveport, La. hospital.
He was born Oct. 18, 1933 in Houston County and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Faye Gilson of Timpson; six step-children; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Gilson of Latexo; a sister, Mrs. Lorene McKelvey of Bay City.
Also, four brothers, Perry Gilson of Crockett, Joe Dan Gilson and Wayne Gilson, both of Houston, and Ed Gilson of Latexo.

Mrs. Gimon was a retired postmaster of Lovelady, she having served in that capacity more than 16 years. She as born March 12, 1895, in Houston County, and was a member of the Lovelady Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Lovelady Church of Christ, with Mr. Dayton Lee of Trinity and Mr. George McKinney of Crockett officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Lovelady.
Pallbearers were Sidney Smith, Raymond Trimble, Wayne Linton, Sammie Parrish, B. N. Linton and T. L. Moffitt.

Mr. Gimon, a retired Gulf service station owner and operator, was born May 19, 1895, in Houston County. He was a member of Lovelady Church of Christ, and of Lovelady Masonic Lodge No. 539.
Funeral services were held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the Lovelady Church of Christ, with Mr. H. H. Conner and Mr. E. A. Richie officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Lovelady.

Mrs. Mildred Durst Giraud died May 9 in Rome, Italy.
Mrs. Giraud, a native of Calvert, lived in Houston many years before moving to Rome 15 years ago.

Mr. James Wilson Gladden, 83, of Route 2, Crockett, died Saturday morning in a local hospital. Born in Alto, Mr. Gladden had resided in Houston County the last 27 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired rancher.
Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Austonio Baptist Church, with Rev. Phillips and Rev. Bob Owens officiating. Burial was in the Laneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Cora Ann Glazier, 87, died at her late residence near Lovelady Thursday, following a lengthy illness. She was born Dec. 19, 1873, at Camden, Ark. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. J. B. Davis of Grapeland and Mr. Dalton Groaves, Church of Christ minister of Lovelady, officiating. Burial was in Lovelady Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bobby J. Stewart, Mack Stewart, James R. Stewart Jr., Paul Fulton, Troy Pinner and B. G. Stewart.
Survivors include two sons, John Glazier of Lovelady and Robert Glazier of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. J. R. Stewart of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Selina Jackson of Rosharon and Mrs. Henry Plunkett of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Pearl Beatrice Gleffe, 63, died in Green Bay Wisconsin, Wednesday, November 21. A native of Weldon, Mrs. Gleffe had lived in Green Bay 16 years and was a member of the Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the graveside in the Mt. Capers Cemetery near Oakhurst with Rev. C. H. Cook of Houston officiating.

Funeral services for Andy J. Goff, 75, of Slocum (Rt.2,Elkhart), were held Wednesday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. in the Muse Baptist Church, Hickory Grove, with the Rev. W. C. Littleton officiating. Burial was in the Muse Cemetery. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster.

Mr. Goff was born March 26, 1894 in the Denson Springs community, and was a son of the late Henry Clay Goff and Mrs. Finecia Reed Goff. He died Tuesday, Oct 21, at 8 a.m. in the home of his brother, Van B. Goff, near Round Rock, Texas. He was reared at Denson Springs, and farmed at Hickory Grove a number of years. After retiring, he moved to Slocum, and was a member of the Slocum Baptist Church.

Selena Irene Goldman, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Goldman, died in a Lufkin hospital shortly after birth Feb. 16, 1967.
Graveside funeral services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Corinth Cemetery with Rev. S. B. Bonee of Lufkin officiating.
Survivors are the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Goldman of Lufkin; grandparents, Mr and Mrs. O. H. Goldman and Mr. and Mrs. Frazier Patton, all of Kennard; and great grandparents, Mrs. Callie Goldman, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Harrison of Kennard, and Mr. A. J. Patton of Crockett.

Mrs. Callie Goldman, 73, of Kennard, died in a Crockett hospital Wednesday, May 24,.
Mrs. Goldman was born on May 5, 1894, in Houston County. She was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Mount Olive Congregational Methodist Church, with Rev. H. T. Isgitt officiating. Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery, near Kennard.
Pallbearers were C. D. Sides, Marvin Currie, Leon Stubblefield, Cleon Stubblefield, C. M. Stubblefield, and Jack Currie.
Survivors include three sons, Oscar and J. W. Goldman, of Kennard, and Harvey Goldman of Angleton; a daughter, Mrs. Margie Gilbert of Freeport; three brothers, J. C., R. C., and J. S. Currie, all of Kennard; three sisters, Mrs. Sally Baker, Mrs. Ella Stubblefield, all of Kennard; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Ola A. Golson, 62, of Trinity died Friday afternoon in Trinity Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Golson was a resident of Trinity County for 12 years. She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Edna with the Rev. V. A. Glaske officiating. Burial was in the Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include the husband, Albert B. Golson of Trinity; a son, J. D. Crawford of Edna; three brothers, Homer, Walter and Richard Barham; five sisters, Mrs. Melissa Stubblefield, Mrs. Elnor Binns, Mrs. Ora Mitchell, Mrs. Lodema Mitchell and Mrs. Marjorie Wayne Eads; six grandchildren.

Mr. Leslie Batty Goodenough, 85, of Trinity, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, in Trinity.
Mr. Goodenough had resided in Trinity for the past 46 years. He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Waller Chapel, with Rev. Raleigh Hooper officiating. Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lucy Goodenough of Trinity; two sons, Leslie H. Goodenough of Morgan City, La., and Wayne C. Goodenough of Grapeville; two daughters, Mrs. Neva G. Mrs. Lucy Goodenough, 88, of Houston, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, in that city.
Mrs. Goodenough was a Methodist and a 50 year member of Trinity Chapter of eastern Star # 186.

Miss Goodman, a resident of Groveton, died Jan. 21 at her home. She was born in Houston County but had lived in Pennington for the past 22 years.

Funeral services for Henry Aron Goodman, 77, were held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel.
Rev. Terry Gibson and Rev. Larry Smith officiated. Burial was in the Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Goodman, a resident of Trinity, died March 9 in Houston County Hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1897 in Trinity County and had lived there all his life. He was a member of the Piney Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Goodman of Pennington; a brother, Reesie D. Goodman of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Willie Minter of Crockett; Mrs. Lillie Dominy and Mrs. Mamie Driskell, both of Pennington, and Mrs. Ada Ashworth of Groveton.

James Clayton Goodman
Funeral services for James Clayton Goodman, seven-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Goodman of Crockett, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Calvary Baptist Church.
Rev. E. D. Sarratt officiated. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park.
The youth died Monday as the result of being struck by an automobile as he departed from a school bus near his home on Texas 19 south.
He was a second grade student at the Sam Houston Elementary School and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Marci Goodman of Crockett, a brother, Paul Goodman of Crockett; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Rose Goodman of Bryan; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Hicks of Onalaska.

Leo Bergman Goodrum
Mr. Leo Bergman Goodrum, 78, of Box 282, Weldon, died early Wednesday, Oct. 6, in Trinity Memorial Hospital, after an extended illness.
Mr. Goodrum was born Oct. 6, 1893. He was a lifetime resident of Houston County, and a retired employee of the Texas Prison System.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Walter Byers and Rev. John Goodrum officiating. Interment was in the Weldon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Roland Goodrum, Willard Johnson Jr., Kenny Johnson, Craig Hawthorne, Chris Phillips and Randall Maples.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Evelyn Goodrum of Weldon; a daughter, Mrs. Annie Johnson of Hearne; three sons, Leon R. and Earl B. Goodrum, both of Houston; and Basil Goodrum of the U. S. Army; three sisters, Ida Clements, Stacia Reed, and Becky Harrelson, all of Huntsville; two brothers, John Robert and Lon Goodrum, both of Houston; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Mrs. Sarah Janie Goodson
Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Janie Goodson, 85, of 9426 Laney Vale Avenue, Dallas, former Houston County resident, were held Friday, Feb. 5, at the graveside in Parker Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Craig officiating. Burial was in Parker Cemetery.
Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
A native of Texarkana, Arkansas, Mrs. Goodson was born Dec. 19, 1874. She died in a Texarkana hospital Tuesday, Feb 2, at 5:30 p.m. following a short illness.
Survivors: two sons, Clyde V. Goodson of Texarkana, Arkansas; a daughter, Mrs. Othella Stephens of Timpon, Texas; two brothers, Jim and Dakery Peavy of Fort Worth; 22 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Remains were brought to Hassell & Foster, Grapeland, Friday morning and were there until carried to the cemetery for graveside services.

Mr. Cleet E. Goodson, 78, of Kennard died Monday in a Lufkin hospital.

Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Dona Lee Goodson of Kennard; a brother, Willie Goodson of Kennard; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Gates of Kennard and Mrs. Lucy Causlet of Maydelle; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. Glen W. Gooden, 76, of Houston, died in Crockett Monday evening.
Mr. Gooden was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Houston.
The remains were taken overland to Houston for services to be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the Resthaven Cemetery.
Survivors include a son, Wilbur Clyde Gooden of Houston; a sister, Mrs. Foye G. Neal of Houston; two grandchildren; two great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
