Mrs. Lottie Graham
Mrs. Lottie Graham, 58, a native of Latexo but a resident of Houston for the past ten years, died Thursday, Jan 26,. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Graham is survived by her husband, Ruben of Houston; four sons, Ray of Gelsmer, la., Davis of Houston, and Jasper and Porter of Grand Prairie; four daughters, Mrs. Wessie Anderson, Mrs. Sue Weisinger, Mrs. Emma Gean Walling, and Mrs. Betty Thornton, all of Houston; six brothers, three sisters; 16 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Graveside funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 3 p.m. in the Milligan Cemetery with the Rev. Deckert Anderson officiating. Waller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. R. L. Graham, 72, of Houston, died in a Pasadena hospital Tuesday. Mr. Graham was a member of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Elizabeth Belle Graham, 64, of Houston died Friday evening. Mrs. Graham was born in Arkansas, but had lived in Houston several years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services were held from the Waller Funeral home Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. Taylor officiating. Burial was in the Latexo Cemetery. Survivors include the husband, Tracy Graham of Houston; a son, John R. Harper of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Freddie Popp of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Alee McDougel of Indiana and Charley McDougel of Oklahoma; sister, Mrs. Violet Roads of McCaskel, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Mr. Hugh David Graham, 74, of Latexo, died Saturday in the Veterans Hospital at Marli. Mr. Graham, born Sept. 13, 1895, in Houston County, was a veteran of World War I. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Raymond Craig officiating. Burial was in the New Energy Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ken Graham, K. D. Mr. Vastine Graham, age 51, of 903 Terrell Street, Crockett, passed away June 12 in the V.A. Hospital in Houston. Mr. Graham was born in Houston County on Dec. 9, 1922 and had spent his entire life here. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War II. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, in the Waller Family Chapel, with Rev. F.J. Edwards and Rev. E. D. Sarratt officiating. Interment followed in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crockett. Survivors include one son, Rex Graham of Kennard; four daughters, Mrs. Ginger Craig of Houston, Mrs. Shelia Lavole, Mrs. Diana Lively, and Miss Vickie Graham, of Crockett; two brothers, Ted Graham of Weldon and Theo Graham of Crockett; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Brimberry and Mrs. Della Mae Richardson of Crockett; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Charles Richard Grall, 106 of Houston, died Thursday, April 28, in a Houston hospital. Mr. Grall had lived in Trinity until moving to Houston ten years ago. He was a member of the Baptist church. Frank Pettus Granberry Jr.
Mr. Frank Pettus Granbery Jr., 33, died in a Dallas hospital Monday. Mr. Granberry, born March 20, 1937, in Houston County, had lived in Dallas the last five years and was employed by the Doubleday Book Store. He was a graduate of Crockett High School and of Baylor University. He was a veteran of five years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the first Baptist Church of Crockett. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church of Crockett, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey and Rev. Max Petty officiating. Burial was in the Grapeland Cemetery. Pallbearers were George D. Anderson, Marion M. Anderson, M. D. Darsey Jr., Charley C. Darsy, Dewitt Richards, Murdock Riall Murchison, Chester V. Hines, and Donald J. Gordon. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank P. Granberry P. Granberry Sr. of Crockett; a sister, Mrs. James Sumrall of Houston; a nice, Susan Ann Sumrall, and a nephew, James Stanton Sumrall, both of Houston. William Duncan Granberry
Funeral services for Mr. William Duncan Granberry, 83, of Grapeland, were held at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan 4, in the First Baptist Church of Grapeland. Reverends Bland Kirby of Grapeland, A. S. Lee of Crockett, and T. T. Lott of Houston officiated, and burial was in the Grapeland City Cemetery. Mr. Granberry died following a short illness at 5 a.m. Sunday, Jan 3, in a Crockett hospital. He was born in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 20, 1876, and was a retired banker. Mr. Granberry started his banking career as a cashier in the Farmers and Merchants State Bank of Grapeland in 1910 and later became chairman of the board. He was also chairman of the board of deacons in the first Baptist Church of Grapeland, and was Sunday School superintendent for 53 years. Mr. Granberry was treasurer of the Neches River Baptist Association. A member of the Masonic Lodge 473, A.F. & A.M., he was also affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star, Grapeland, and the Woodmen of the World. A member of the Grapeland Lions Club, Mr. Granberry was a former member of the Grapeland school board, the city council and the board of directors of the Grapeland Country Club. He was also a former station agent for L.& G.N. Railroad in Grapeland. Pallbearers were Reverends Carl Greer, Kenneth Hiner, W. E. Vaughn, Jowel Haley, J. Scott Turner, all former pastors of Grapeland First Baptist Church; and Reverends T. T. Reynolds and Edwin Johnson of Crockett. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of First Baptist church, Grapeland, all pastors of the Neches River Baptist Association, and the District Secretary, Dr. H. M. Ward. Survivors are one son, Frank Granberry of Crockett; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Scarborough of Longview, Mrs. Eleanor Whitthorn of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren, Frank P. Granberry Jr., and Miss Nancy Granberry, both of Crockett. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster. Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral of W. D. Funeral services for William Duncan Granberry, 83, of Grapeland, were held at 3 P.M. Monday in the First Baptist Church. Officiating at the services were Rev. Bland Kerby, Rev. A. S. Miss Grant was born June 27, 1953 in Crockett, and died Thursday at 5:05 a.m. in a Palestine hospital. Survivors include the parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. (Earl) Grant of Tennessee Colony; grandmother, Mrs. Clem Smith of Grapeland; three brothers, Bobby Grant of Palestine, Tommy and Jimmy Grant, both of Tennessee Colony. Funeral services for A. W. (Dink) Grant, 38, of Route 1, Elkhart, were held Sunday, August 12, at 3:00 p.m. in Hassell & Foster Chapel, Palestine with the Rev. Bill Sheffield and the Rev. Harold (Dub) Davis officiating. Burial was in the Guiceland Cemetery, Salmon. Active pallbearers were Wayne Calloway, Kenneth Calloway, Bobby Grant, Bobby Skipper, Roy Lee Moore, Charlie Davis, Milton Herod, and Billy Tucker. All other friends of the family were designated honorary pallbearers. Mr. Grant was born September 5, 1934 in Anderson County to Reuben Grant and Mrs. Mabel Shipper Grant, and he was pronounced dead on arrival at a Palestine hospital Friday, August 10, at 1:05a.m. following injuries received in an automobile accident. lifelong resident of the Elkhart area, he was a member of the Walston Springs Baptist Church, and was a self-employed brickmason. Survivors: wife Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Wells Grant, Elkhart; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Grant, Elkhart; a son, Steven W. Amanda Jo Grant, 3-day old infant of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Grant of Route 1, Elkhart, died Sunday, January 13, in a Palestine hospital where she was born Thursday 10. Funeral services were held Monday, January 14, at 4 p.m. at the graveside in Parker Cemetery, west of Grapeland, with the Rev. David Hill officiating. Burial was in the Parker Cemetery under the direction of Hassell & Foster. Pallbearers were Jimmy Bartee, Danny Herod, Bobby Gene Shipper, and Buddy Jeffcoat. In addition to the parents, survivors include grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Grant of Corsicana, and Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Mrs. Hazel Berry Grant, of Beaumont, died in that city April 15. Mrs. Grant was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. V. Berry of Crockett. She was very active in the civic affairs of Beaumont and especially in the Women’s Club of Beaumont. Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church of Crockett at 2 p.m. Sunday, with Rev. L. B. Broach officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett. Pallbearers were Reginald Driskell, Roland Bear, Jack Barbee, Sam Arledge, J. H. Berry Jr., and Homer Graham. Minnie Lee Gray
Funeral services for Minnie Lee Gray, 84, of Houston formerly of Antrim Community, were held Friday, February 2, at 2:00 p.m. at the Pilgrim Church with the Rev. John Barfield of Elkhart Methodist Church officiating. Burial was held at the Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Hassell and Foster. Pallbearers were grandsons: Bill, Dan, John Wayne, Joe Gray, and David Brown, and son-in-law Bob Austin. Mrs. Gray, the former Minnie Lee Green, was born December 28, 1888 in Houston County to E. M. Green, St., and Ann Green. She died February 1, 1973 at 7:30 a.m. in Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband John Edward (Edd) Gray in March 1959 and one son, victor Gray in December, 1960. She spent most of her life in Anderson County. She is survived by five sons: Elmo Little of Houston, Benny Gray of Tyler, Hubert Gray of LaPorte, John Lee Gray of Jacinto City and Wilbur Gray of Baytown; four daughters: Mrs. Leonidas (Mildred) Brown of Houston, Mrs. J. E. (Annie) Hensley of Dallas, Mrs. Bob (Evelyn Austin of Houston and Mrs. Roy (Dorothy) Horlock of Houston; three brothers: Millard Green of Palestine, E. W. Green of Magnolia and Lawrence Green of Spring, Texas. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Mr. James T. Gray of Palestine, Rt. 5, died in a Palestine hospital Tuesday evening May 4. Mr. Gray, a former resident of Trinity, had lived in Palestine the last three years. Funeral services for Frank Graybill 79, of Harlingen were held Saturday, February 17m in Kreidler-Ashcraft Funeral Chapel, Harlingen, with the Rev. W. E. Davis officiating. Mr. Graybill, husband of the former Lorine Edington of Grapeland, Passed away in Valley Baptist Hospital Wednesday, February 14, A native of Longview, he moved to Harlingen in 1946 and was a retired inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a member of the First Christian Church, a veteran of the first World War and a member of the Harlingen Veterans of Foreign War. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lorine Edington Graybill of Harlingen; two daughters, Mrs. Olan (Frances) Gartman and Mrs. Shirley Beane of Harlingen; thee sisters, Mrs. Louise Abnott and Mrs. Lucy G. Mrs. Lemma Greb, 79, of 116 North Grace St., died Saturday at her home in Crockett. Mrs. Greb was born in Temple on July 23, 1892, but had made her home in Crockett since 1915. She was married in Galveston on Oct. 16, 1913, to Theodore William Greb, who preceded her in death on April 24, 1938, in Crockett. Mrs. Greb was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crockett. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. E. P. Ramsey officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Memorial park in Crockett. Pallbearers were Jay Skinner, Lee Greb Jr., Charles Kent, W. C. Dobbs, Herman Knox and Jack Garner. Mr. Harvey B. Green died Friday, Jan. 1, at his home in Crockett. He was 79 years of age, a member of the Methodist Church, and a lifelong resident of Houston County. Funeral services for J. A. (Alva) Green, 77, of Rt. 2, Grapeland, were held Friday, July 12, at 3 p.m. at the Davis Cemetery, near Grapeland, with the Rev. Preston Dumas and Calvin Dickey officiating. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery. Nephews served as pallbearers.
Mr. Green was born Feb. 12, 1891, in Grapeland to the late John Green and Mrs. Molly Lou Browning Green, and died Thursday, July 11, at 1:35 p.m. in a Palestine hospital. Lifelong resident of Grapeland, he was a retired farmer and Church. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Pallie Story of Pasadena, Texas; several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were by Hassell and Foster.

William Cary Green
Mr. William Cary Green, 84, of Austonio died at the home of hi son in Austonio Wednesday, July 8, following a brief illness. A retired chiropractor, Mr. green was born in Houston County Feb. 3, 1880. Funeral services were held at 2:30p.m. Thursday from the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Dr. G. H. Stieglitz and Rev. Leslie Grounds officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery, near Lovelady. Pallbearers were Nelson Doan, John Green, Dean Gaskill, Ned Stephens, Clint Green, and Donald Green. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Faye Gaskill of Houston; four sons, W. L. Green of Austonio, M. L. Green of Longview, Basil Green of Edna and Hubert Green of Neosho, Mo.; three brothers, Holcomb Green of Crockett, J. C. Green of Oildale, Calif., and Hosea Iden of Austonio; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ethel Estelle Green, 79, of Houston died Friday, Jan. 14 in Houston. Funeral services were held from the Callaway Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, with the Rev. Leslie Grounds officiating. Interment was in the Salem Cemetery, and pallbearers were John Green, Donald Green, Ned Stephens, Mike Gaskill, Nelson Doan and Douglas Royder. Born in Houston County Nov. 13, 1886, Mrs. Green was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Fay Gaskill, Houston; four sons, W. L. of Austonio, M. L. of Longview, Basil of Edna, and Hubert of Neosjo. Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. J. C. Green of Oildale Calif., Mrs. J. A. Vinson, Houston, Mrs. Ivy Alston, Trinity and Mrs. Leona Thornton, Beaumont; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John C. Green
Funeral services for Rev. John C. Green of Oildale, Calif., were held May 29, in the Greenlawn Memorial Chapel with Rev. George P. Brown, pastor of the Oildale Assembly of God Church, officiating. interment was in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Green died May 26 at home. He was a native of Texas and had lived in California 45 years and in Kern County for 22 years. He was an ordained minister in the Assembly of God Church for 52 years. Survivors include the widow, Gertrude; a son, Irv C. of Chino; three daughters, Viola David and Florine Price of Bakersfield and Florence Kilday of Redlands; a brother, J. H. Green and a half-brother, Hosie Iden, both of Crockett; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Wayne Poe, Clyde Matthew, Ben Alsup, E. I. Coble, Herb Poe and Earl Cox.

Mr. George Ervin Green, 63, of 407 W. 33rd St., Houston, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 1970, in a Houston hospital. Mr. Green was a former resident of Crockett, but had resided in Houston for the last 27 years. Wake for Mr. green was held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Waller Chapel, with Father Walker Officiating. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, in the Waller Chapel, with Rev. H. J. Thodes Jr. officiating. interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers: David Krischke, Mike Caldwell, Joe Hawk, D. L. Perry, J. B. Krenek, Bill Krenek. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. George E. Green of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. H. L. Mr. Willie Lively Green, 65, of Austonio, died Saturday in a local hospital. Mr. Green, a farmer and rancher, was born in Houston County on July 3, 1905. He was a member of the Houston County Farm Bureau, and a former employee of the Texas Department of Corrections. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. James Holcomb Green
Mr. James Holcomb Green, 92, of 404 Runnels St., Crockett, died in a local hospital Saturday morning, Jan. 23. Mr. Green, a retired farmer and rancher, was born in Houston County on Nov. 23, 1878, and had lived here for his entire lifetime. He was a member of the First Methodist church of Crockett. Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 24, at 4 p.m. in the Callaway Memorial Chapel, with Rev. H. J. Rhodes and Rev. Edward R. Haspany officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett. Pallbearers were Wade Minter Jr., Jerry Brimberry, Larry Moore, J. B. Krenek, David Roark and Dixie Perry. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leila Haas of Crockett and Mrs. Myrtle Caldwell of Nacogdoches; a son, William C. Green of Alvin; a half-brother, H. A. Dr. Virgil L. Green
Funeral services for Dr. Virgil L. Green 74, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Waller Family Chapel. Rev. E. P. Ramsey officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park. Dr. Green died at his home Monday. He was born Sept. 24, 1899 in Tolar and had been a Crockett resident for 48 years. He was a retired dentist having practiced in Crockett for many years. He was a member of the Brazos Valley District Dental Society, a lifetime member of the Texas Dental Association, Psi Omega Fraternity, the Glen Rose Masonic Lodge, and the Spring Creek Country Club. Survivors include a brother, Moody L. Green of Cranfills Gap; two nephews, M. L. Green of Comanche, and Leonard Green of Arlington. Arrangement by Waller Funeral Home of Crockett.

Ben Green
Mr. Ben Green, 80, of Silsbee passed away Friday, Jan. 18, in the Huntsville hospital. Mr. Green was a retired contractor and was a member of the Baptist Church. He had lived most of his life in Silsbee. Graveside funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, in the Knupple Cemetery in Silsbee. The remains lay in state in the Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Trinity until Saturday afternoon, after which the remains were carried overland to Silsbee. Survivors include two sons, Homer Green of Trinity, and E. A. Green of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Eva Konarik of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Lewis of Silsbee, Mrs. Fannie Henche of Louisiana, and Mrs. Rosalee Brown of Beaumont; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren. Mrs. Pallie Green Story
Funeral services for Mrs. Pallie Green Story, 80, of 1007 Maple Street, Pasadena, longtime Grapeland resident, were held Monday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sunset Christian Church with the Rev. Leroy Stanton and Calvin Dickey officiating. Burial was in the Davis Cemetery, east of Grapeland, under the direction of Hassell & Foster. Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Mrs. Story was born May 17, 1889, in Grapeland to the late John Calvin Green and Mrs. Mary Browning Green, and she died Saturday, April 18, at 5 p.m. in Pasadena following a long illness. With the exception of her past nine years residence in Pasadena, she spent her entire life in Grapeland, and was a widow of Louis Story, who died October 10, 1962. She was a member of the Sunset Christian Church. Survivors include three sons, Sam H. Story of Pasadena, C. S. Story of Austin, and C. D. Story of Austin, and C. D. Story of South Houston; two daughters, Mrs. John P. (Reba) Childs of Timpson, and Mrs. Claud (Eula) Mason of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Violet Story of San Antonio; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Services for Arthur C. Greenville, 72, were scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Calvary Baptist church, Wells with the Revs. Horace Fletcher, Robert King and Matthew McBride officiating and burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Wells. Mr. Greenville of Wells died in a local hospital Sunday afternoon. He was born on Nov. 25, 1898, in Angelina County and had resided in Cherokee most of his life. Mr. Greenville was a retired timber buyer and was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors; daughters, Mrs. B. G. McKnight, Mrs. R. L. Pitts, both of Wells and Mrs. H. S.
