Robert Wayne Herrin, 37, of Jasper died Jan. 27, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A native of Kirbyville, he lived in Jasper a short time. Survivors include sons, Dusty Wayne Herrin and Blake Daniel Herrin, both of Jasper; daughter, Amber Renee’ Herrin of Jasper; mother, Pauline Herrin of Vidor; brothers, Tommy Herrin and Don Herrin, both of Vidor; and sister, Shawna Keith of Jasper.

KIRBYVILLE – Funeral services for Trudie Biscamp Herrin, 82, of Bleakwood, will be at 10 a.m. today in the Causey E.E. Stringer Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bleakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Herrin died Monday at 5 p.m. in the Buna Nursing Home. She was a native of the Bleakwood area. Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Hooks of Bleakwood and Mattie Herrin of Buna; four sons, Lonnie Herrin of Buna, Arthur Herrin of Bleakwood, don Herrin of Highlands and Johnny Herrin of Channelview; two sisters, Sudie Herrin of Newton and Leona Biscamp of Orange; brother, E.E. Biscamp of Beaumont.

KIRBYVILLE –Funeral for Charles Wesley Herrington, 71, of Temple, formerly of Kirbyville, will be at 2 p.m. today in Kirbyville United Methodist Church with burial in Kirbyville City Cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Masonic services will be held at the cemetery. He died at 5:30 a.m. Monday in a Temple hospital after a long illness. A native of Beach Grove, he lived in Kirbyville, Roganville and Jasper before moving to Temple two years ago. He was a retired employee of the Santa Fe Railroad Co. Survivors include his wife, Olga Griner Herrington; two daughters, Betty Cearley of Houston, and Juanell Bateman of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Ray Herrington of Shreveport, and Hillary Herrington of Call, and two sisters, Gladys Hopper of Beaumont, and Melba Fletcher of Jasper.

Genevia Herrington, 72, of Kirbyville died Oct. 12, 2001, at Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. She was a lifelong resident of Kirbyville. Survivors include her niece, Kay Midkiff of Kirbyville.

Hester, Walter E.
Walter E. Hester, 48, of Buna died at 11:02 a.m. Tuesday, January 22, 1974 in a Silsbee hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Buna and a construction worker. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Silsbee. Burial will be in Morse Cemetery in Buna under direction of Farmer Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Willie Lee Hester; his mother, Mahaley Hester of Buna; one brother, J.P. Hester of Buna and four sisters, Eugenia Porter and Essie Virdine, both of Vidor, Joyce Willie of Orange and Juanice Simms of Bedford.

Hicks, Harold H.
Funeral services for Harold H. Hicks, 68, of Kirbyville will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. The Rev. Jimmy Burks, pastor of Amelia Baptist Church, and the Rev. Percy H. Bailey, pastor of the Kirbyville Central Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Kirbyville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Truet Sharbutt, Allen Hooks, Jim Van Pelt, Arthur Key, Jack Holmes and Buster Davis. Hicks died about 9 p.m. Saturday in the Baptist Hospital in Beaumont after a long illness. A native of Kennard, he had spent most of his life in Kirbyville, was a livestock dealer and a member of the Kirbyville First Baptist Church. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ludie Mae West Hicks; one son, Jimmy Hicks of Kirbyville; two brothers, Hilton Hicks of Los Angeles and T.G. Hicks Jr. of --, La.; and three grandchildren.

Jimmy Harold Hicks, 59, of Kirbyville died February 5, 1997 at his residence. Funeral was held Saturday, February 8 at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Kirbyville he was a livestock trader and a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include sons, Steve Hicks of Sugarland and Kenneth Wayne Hicks of Panama City, Florida; daughter, Donna Kay Daggett of Constable Ville, New York; and three grandchildren.

KIRBYVILLE – Ira Clifton Higgs, 79, died at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home after an illness. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home chapel with burial in Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville. Higgs, a native of Gilmer, had lived in Kirbyville 33 years and was a retired plumber and owner of Auto Electrical Co. Survivors include his two brothers, E. Homer Higgs of New York, N.Y., and Guy T. Mitchell of Chicago, Ill.; six sisters, Daisy Bodin of Kirbyville, Blanch Murray of Sour Lake, Thelma Ray of Atlanta, Ga., Carrie Vallie, Mary Ethel Waters and Hazel Heard, all of Beaumont.

KIRBYVILLE – Lena Johnson Higgs, 76, died about 2:30 p.m. Monday in a Jasper hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville. A native of Woodville, she had lived here about 25 years. She and her husband operated an appliance store. Survivors include her husband Ira C. Higgs; two brothers, Dan Johnson of Woodville and Morris Johnson of Kirbyville.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Rogers Hightower, 82, of Kirbyville will be at 2 p.m. today in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bean Cemetery. Mrs. Hightower died at 1 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 1973 in a Buna nursing home. She was a native of Kirbyville. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth West, Kirbyville, and Mrs. Eunice Price, National City, Calif.; and two sons, Elmer Earl Wills, Kirbyville, and Harvey Coak, Shreveport, La.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Eastland and a former longtime resident of Orange, she lived in Call 20 years. Survivors include her husband, Darroll Hinson of Call; sons, Darwin A. Hinson, Clarence H. Hinson and Eugene C. Hinson, all of Orange, Jerald D. Hinson of Mauriceville, and Weldon D. Hinson and William M. Hinson, both of Kirbyville; brother, Leland Pate of Ranger; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He died at 6 p.m. Saturday in his home after a brief illness. He was born in Rosepine, La., and had lived in Newton a number of years before moving to Kirbyville 38 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Lillie Hinson of Kirbyville; three sons, Haven Hinson of Kirbyville; Doyle and Rzell Hinson, both of Orange; four daughters, Jewel Gatch, Dell Horn and Neva Roberts, all of Orange, and Etha McDonald of Kirbyville; six sisters, Melone Walker of California, Mary Woods and Bobbie Lee Irons, both of Newton, Docia Lanier of Jasper, Emma Davis of Beaumont, and Lula Bean of Galveston, and one brother, Leurman Hinson of Newton.

He died at 1:20 p.m. Monday in Orange Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Call, he had lived in Orange many years. He was a welder for the Bethlehem Steel Co. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lawrence Hinson; two daughters, Jimmie Gail White of Bridge City and Betty Jean Miller of Bay City; his mother, Lillie Hinson of Kirbyville; four sisters, Jewel Gatch, Dell Horn, and Neva Roberts, all of Orange, and Etha McDonald of Kirbyville, and two brothers, Haven Hinson of Kirbyville, and Darrol Hinson of Orange.

Funeral for Eloise Henry, 73, of Kirbyville will be at 10 a.m. today at Kirbyville United Methodist Church with burial in Jasper City Cemetery under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. She died Wednesday, April 28, 1988 at BurMont Nursing Home in Silsbee. A native of Newton, she lived in Kirbyville 47 years. Survivors include her husband, Lee Henry of Kirbyville; two daughters, Pat Boyette of Buna and Jane Wade of Kirbyville; a brother, Bobby Booker of Newton; and five grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church with burial in Jasper City Cemetery under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. A native of Aldridge, Texas, she had lived in Kirbyville 57 years and was a retired school cafeteria employee. Survivors include one son, Lee Henry of Kirbyville; one sister, Katie Pace of Jasper; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Herndon, Ann M. Burch
Funeral Services for Ann M. Burch Herndon, 94, of Kirbyville was held Monday, April 8 at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Fred Lang, former church pastor, officiating. Burial was in Kirbyville under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. She died Saturday evening, April 6, 1985 at Max Mixson Memorial Hospital after an illness. A native of Beaumont, she lived in Kirbyville 74 years and was a retired school teacher. Survivors include one son, C.B. “Buck” Herndon of Kirbyville; three grandsons, Brad Herndon of Port Neches, Jon Herndon of Bridge City and Joe Herndon of Kirbyville; a granddaughter, Lucie Price of Orange; and seven great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bill Pressley, Jim Hicks, Crawford Woods, Elton Pryor, Cotton McDonald, Earl Glenn, Ed Bradley and Jerry Nobles.

Cleve Herndon, 81, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 1974 in a Kirbyville hospital. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in United Methodist Church. Burial was in Kirbyville Cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Herndon was a native of the Choctaw Nation in the Indian Territory in Oklahoma and had lived in Kirbyville about 70 years. He was a retired lumberman. Surviving are his wife, Ann Burch Herndon; son, C.H. “Buck” Herndon, both of Kirbyville; three brothers, Frank Herndon of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kirby and Harry Herndon, both of Houston, and two sisters, Ina Herndon Sharp of Los Altos, California and Flora Herndon Helpinstill of Kirbyville.

He died at 2:50 a.m. Thursday in Doctors Hospital in Silsbee after a short illness. A native of Alabama, he was a retired employee of Santa Fe Railroad and had lived in Kirbyville 42 years. Survivors include his wife, Robbie Lumpkin Herron; one son, Robert Herron of Silsbee; two stepsons, Louie Atchley of Kirbyville and Travis Lynch of Bridge City, and two daughters, Joyce Horn and Donna Ruth Horn, both of Kirbyville.

Graveside service for Douglas Wayne Herrin, 42, of Kirbyville was held October 21 at Bean cemetery under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. He died Friday, October 18, 1985 at Max Mixson Memorial Hospital from injuries received in a stabbing. A native and lifelong resident of Kirbyville, he was a carpenter employed by Buckner Road Contractors. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Herrin; a daughter, Shawna Herrin; three sons, Robert Herrin, Tommy Herrin and Don Herrin, all of Kirbyville; a sister, Joyce Faye Herrin of bon Wier; and two brothers, Denny Ray Herrin of Clovis, New Mexico and Dalton Herrin of Kirbyville.

She died at 11:35 a.m. Friday in the Merryville, La. Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Newton, and had spent most of her life in the Kirbyville Area. Survivors include one son, J.C. McMahon, Kirbyville and one daughter, Miss Lena McMahon of Kirbyville.

NEWTON (Spl) – Funeral services for Joseph Randell Herrin, 87, of Call will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First Pentecostal Church in Newton. The Rev. Joe Coftey of Call will officiate, assisted by the Rev. C.L. Wommack. Burial will be in Bleakwood Cemetery under direction of Griner Funeral Home of Newton. Herrin died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Newton County Memorial Hospital following a heart attack. He was a retired railroad employee. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ila Herrin, and one daughter, Mrs. Vergie Woods of Newton.

James Hoy Herrin, 94, of Bleakwood died Jan. 14, 2001, at his residence. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Bob Herrin Cemetery in Newton County. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. A lifelong resident of Bleakwood, he was retired from Missouri-Pacific Railroad. Survivors include his son, Lavelle Herrin of Longview; daughters, Elnora Foxworth of Port Neches, Elsie Duncan of Kirbyville and Larue Berry of Gautier, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Funeral services for John Taylor Herrin, 80, of Kirbyville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Causey's E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. The Rev. J.C. Drake, pastor of the Lewis Chapel will officiate. Burial will be in the Kirbyville Bean Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grover Couch, Victor Hamilton, Alvis McAdams, Jeptha Stark, Bob Wilson and C.B. Herndon. Herrin died at 1 a.m. Sunday in the Jasper Memorial Hospital where he had been five weeks. He was a native of Newton County and had lived here for 30 years. He was a retired woodsman. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mezia Hall, Mrs. Elvie Dodson and Mrs. Myrtle Stark; two sons, Edmond and Ray Herrin, both of Kirbyville; one sister Mrs. Alice Wilson of Orange; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Merlin Carlton Herrin, 45, of Newton died Jan. 3, 2001, at his residence. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Home in Newton with burial at Newton City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Kirbyville, he lived in Newton most of his life and was a logging contractor. Survivors include his wife, Margie Herrin of Newton; daughters, Michelle Parrish and Melody Herrin, both of Newton; parents, T. Carlton and Joyce Faye Herrin of Fawil; brother, Arthur Herrin of Fawil; and sister, Martha Odom of Fawil.

Funeral services for Robert Lee Herrin, 89, of the Bleakwood Community were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Burial was in the Bleakwood Cemetery. He died at 4:15 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 1972 at a Buna Nursing home. He was a native of the area. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Trudy Biscamp Herrin; four sons, Lonnie Herrin, Buna, Don Herrin, Highlands, Johnny Herrin, Channelview, and Arthur Herrin, Bleakwood; two daughters, Mrs. Allen Hooks, Bleakwood, and Miss Mattie Herrin, Newton.
