Betty Quave, 59, of Call died July 31, 2001, at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Davis Cemetery in Beulah Springs. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. She was a lifelong resident of the Call and Kirbyville areas. Survivors include her husband, Raymond Quave of Call; daughter, Suzy Hanna of Lumberton; mother, Myrtie Davis of Kirbyville; brothers, Gerald Davis of Kirbyville, Dennis Davis of Port Neches and Dean Davis of Nederland; sister, Sherry Chandler of Kirbyville; and two grandchildren.

Quave, Ross Ferni

CALL – The shooting death of a 66-year-old local man Saturday has been ruled self-inflicted by Justice of the Peace J.B. Sanders. According to Sanders. Ross Ferni Quave shot himself in the neck at 2 p.m. at his residence in Call. Deputy Sheriff Wesley Felts investigated the shooting. Funeral for Quave is pending at Causey's E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Survivors include his wife, Inez; three sons, Raymond Quave of Kirbyville, Rayford Quave of Vidor and Kenneth Quave of Call; a daughter, Shirley Greenhawk of Beaumont, and his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Charlton of Kirbyville.

Randolph, Minnie Mae
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Mae Randolph, 76, of Kirbyville, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Causey's E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. The Rev. Ed Heacock, pastor of the Kirbyville United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Kirbyville Bean Cemetery. Pallbearers will be C.B. Herndon, Paul Guinn, Elton Pryor, M.R. McDonald and Paul Saunders. Mrs. Randolph died at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 10, 1971 in Buna Medical Center after a long illness. She was a native of Wheeler County, Neb., and had lived in Kirbyville for 52 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church where she supervised the nursery for many years. Survivors are two sons, Duval and W.C. Randolph Jr., both of Kirbyville and six grandchildren.

Ratcliff, Myrtle
Myrtle Ratcliff, 92, of Lindale died March 13, 1997 at Texas Hospital in Tyler. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kirbyville Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home in Lindale. A native of Kirbyville, she recently moved to Lindale. She was a retired school teacher for the Kirbyville school district. Survivors include a son, James Ratcliff of Lindale; brother, H.A. Newman of Port Arthur; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rawls, Robert Edwin “Bob”

Robert Edwin "Bob" Rawls, 71, of Jasper died Nov. 16, 2001, at his residence. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Jasper with graveside service at Jasper City Cemetery under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Jasper, he was a Texas Instruments retiree and U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include Jeannette Strahan of Jasper; son, Robert Keith Rawls of Lufkin; daughter, Donna Revel Rawls Luce of Jasper; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Children’s Burn Hospital in Galveston or First United Methodist Church.

Reddin, Willie Joe Jr.
Willie Joe Reddin Jr., 36, of Trout Creek died Dec. 9, 2000, near his residence. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery. A native of Groves, he lived in Kirbyville most of his life and was a laborer. Survivors include his parents, Elizabeth and Joe Reddin Sr. of Trout Creek; and sisters, Margaret Ann Hawthorn of Winnie and Vicki Jo Kent of Trout Creek.

Reeves, Tedra Ann
Tedra Ann Reeves, 39, of Kirbyville died Tuesday, February 22, 2000 at her residence. A graveside service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery in Buna under the direction of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral home. A native of Oakridge, Ore., she lived in Kirbyville 16 years. Survivors include her husband, Richard Reeves of Kirbyville; daughters, Melissa Racy, Angela Racy and Robin Racy, all of Kirbyville; sons, Tony Reeves, Billy Reeves and Chad Havard, all of Kirbyville; parents, Edward and Donna Racy of Kirbyville; brother, Johnny Racy of Texas City; and one granddaughter.

Renfro, William K.
Funeral services for William K. Renfro, 85, of Roganville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Roganville Baptist Church. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under direction of the J.O. Stringer Funeral Home of Jasper. He died Thursday, May 4, 1972 in a Jasper hospital. He was a member of the Roganville Baptist Church. Among survivors are his wife, Mrs. Annie E. Renfro; four sons, Cleve W. and Bradis W. Renfro, both of Angleton, Norman R. Renfro, Garrison, and Bobby L. Renfro, Jasper; and one sister, Mrs. Lottie Taylor, Kirbyville.

Reynolds, Michelle
Michelle Reynolds, 16, of Hemphill died Monday from a grocery store house fire in Yellowpine. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill with burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery in San Augustine County. A native of Port Arthur, she lived in Kirbyville before moving to Hemphill six years ago and was a student at Hemphill High School. Survivors include her father, Jerry Reynolds Sr.; and stepmother, Cathy Reynolds, both of Kirbyville; stepfather, Kaufman Williams of Hemphill; grandparents, James and Lamerle Caldwell; brothers, Jerry Reynolds Jr. and Kenneth Reynolds; and stepbrothers, Gary Redd and Michael Williams, all of Kirbyville; and a stepsister, Nell Lewis of Vidor.

Funeral services for Arbelle Richardson, 69, will be at 2 p.m. today in the Kirbyville First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Kirbyville Cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. Miss Richardson died at ...p.m. Saturday, March 16, 1974 in a local hospital. A native of Magnolia Springs, she had lived in Kirbyville about 40 years and was the office manager for the Jasper-Newton Electric Cooperative Inc. until she retired about four years ago. Survivors include three brothers, Jerald, Bernard and J.D. Richardson, all of Houston.

Funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with burial in Kirbyville Cemetery under the direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. He was a lifelong resident of Kirbyville and a retired merchant. Survivors include his wife, Beatie Richardson of Kirbyville; one son, Ray Brock of Vidor; one brother, R.V. Richardson of Beaumont; one sister, Ruby Elliot of Port Arthur; and two grandchildren.

Gun Blast Kills Kirbyville Girl; Services Today
KIRBYVILLE - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today in First Assembly of God Church for 13-year-old Kimberly Lynn Richardson who was killed by a shotgun blast Thursday, November 23, 1973. Burial under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home will be in Davis Cemetery. Jasper County Sheriff’s deputies said the girl was opening a door for a brother, who was carrying a shotgun and other items into the house, when the gun went off. She was dead on arrival at Jasper Memorial Hospital with wounds to the left chest. Survivors include her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Richardson of Kirbyville; four brothers, Larry, Randall, David and Michael Richardson, and three sisters, Sonjia, Donna and Susan Richardson, all of Kirbyville.

KIRBYVILLE – Funeral for Mary Williams Richardson, 78, of Houston will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home with burial in Kirbyville Cemetery. Mrs. Richardson died at 2 a.m. Friday at a Houston nursing home after an illness. She was a native of Jasper County and was part owner and operator of Richardson’s Grocery stores in Kirbyville before moving to Houston in 1950. Survivors include her husband, John D. Richardson of Houston; a son, Robert T. Richardson of Houston; three sisters, Beulah Sheppard of Pineland, Eula Glover of Hemphill and Catherine Cloak of Pasadena; and two brothers, Richard Williams of Buna and Marion Williams of Hemphill.

She was a native and former resident of Kirbyville. Survivors include her husband, J.D. Richardson of Houston; two daughters, Anne Speer of San Antonio and Martha Dee Schmidt of Houston; one son, David Newman Richardson of Richmond, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Blake of Kirbyville and Josephine Matthews of Houston; four brothers, Bill Christian of Livingston, Bo Christian of Channelview, Jimmy Christian of Conroe and Sugie Christian of Kirbyville; and six grandchildren.

Louise Roach, 76, of Call died Friday, March 8, 1996 at her residence. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Bean Cemetery in Kirbyville. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native and former resident of Kirbyville, she lived in Call a number of years and was a retired nurse’s aid. Survivors include her husband Prince Albert Roach of Call; son Donald Roach of Portland; brother, R.B. Gray of Enterprise, Okla. and R.T. Gray of Dayton; sisters, Dorothy Wilson of Orange and Katherine Glawson of Kirbyville; and a grandchild.

Ona Mae Roach, 72, of Call died Jan. 6, at Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport, La. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Bean Cemetery. A native of San Augustine County, she lived in Call 50 years and was a retired housekeeper. Survivors include her sons, Tommy Roach of Silsbee, Denny Roach and Dale Roach, both of Call, Oscar Roach and Carlton Roach, both of Dayton and William Henry Roach of Beaumont; daughter, Patsy Bemis of Houston; stepdaughters, Beatrice Ward and Veatrice Ward, both of Beaumont Colony; 21 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Evadale crash victim’s funeral services today
KIRBYVILLE – Funeral will be here today for Curtis Van Robbins, 37, of Evadale, who was fatally injured in an auto accident near Silsbee Wednesday night. Services will be at 4 p.m. in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home with burial in Bean Cemetery. Robbins was killed about 9 p.m. Wednesday when the car he was driving left U.S. 96 about one mile east of Silsbee and rolled over several times. He was dead on arrival at Silsbee Doctor’s Hospital. Justice of the Peace Bennie Como, who conducted an inquest, said the man apparently lost control of his car before it overturned. A spokesman for the Department of Public Safety said road conditions were good and there was no immediate indication of what caused Robbins’ vehicle to leave the road. A native of San Augustine County, Robbins had lived in Evadale 35 years and was employed as an electrician for Eastex, Inc., paper mill in Evadale. Survivors include one son, Curtis V. Robbins Jr. of Evadale; two daughters, Paulette and Jodie Elizabeth Robbins, both of Evadale; his father, Jodie A. Robbins, and one brother, Sylvester Robbins, both of Kirbyville.
