KIRBYVILLE – Elbert Hale Wade, 61, died about 4:30 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 1974 in a Jasper hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Call Junction Baptist Church. burial will be in Bean Cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home.
Wade was a native of Montgomery County, had lived in Kirbyville 37 years and was a retired carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Ola Mae Moore Wade; two daughters, Betty Wade Hall of Elizabeth, La., and Sandra Wade Litton of Kirbyville; son, Charles Wade of Kirbyville; three sisters, Eula Lee Harvey of San Antonio, Amy Lanier of Jena, La., and Donna Green of Greenwell Springs, La., and bother, W.G. Wade of Houston.
Waggoner, Sharon Moody
Sharon Moody Waggoner, 47, of Charleston, Ark., died Monday, February 7, 1994 in Kirbyville.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Kirbyville, she was a resident of Houston and lived in Charleston seven years and was a retired X-ray technician.
Survivors include her husband, Marion Waggoner of Charleston; son, Marion Waggoner Jr. of Charleston; stepdaughter, Julie Lemons of Gladstone, Mo.; parents, Minnie and Lee C. Moody of Kirbyville; brothers, Steven Moody and Andy Moody, both of Kirbyville; sister, Melinda moody Kerr of Kirbyville; and two grandchildren.
Walden, C.C. ‘Clifton’
C.C. "Clifton’’ Walden, 97, of Jasper died Jan. 10, 2001, at Timberlake Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper with burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Louisiana and a former resident of Bridge City, he was a longtime resident of Jasper and a retired Neches Butane pipe fitter.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Walden of Jasper; son, Jim Walden of Houston; niece, Quida Varnado of Port Arthur; and nephews, Bill Walden of Missouri and David Walden of Kirbyville.

Mildred Waldrup, 68, of Kirbyville died Oct. 21, 2001, at her residence.

A native of Sabine County, she lived in Kirbyville most of her life.

Charlie Walker, 89, of Kirbyville died Oct. 9, 2001, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A native of Allen and a former resident of Jal, N.M., he lived in Kirbyville 24 years and was a retired El Paso Natural Gas Co. accountant.

She died at about 11:30 p.m. Monday at Mixson Memorial Hospital after an illness.
A native of hickory, Okla., she had lived in Kirbyville since 1927 and was retired as a clerk from Mixson’s Clothing Store.
Survivors include a son, Stafford Walker of Berwyn, Pa.; brother, G.R. Speed of Jasper; sister, Anna Bevil of Jasper; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A native of Cass County, she had lived in Kirbyville 18 years.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas H. Walker of Kirbyville; one daughter, Dean Tinney of Kirbyville; three sisters, Lucy Peel and Lela Lewis, both of Atlanta, Texas, and Lottie Carlisle of Andrews, Texas; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Billy Glenn Wallace, 45, of Silsbee died Monday, May 8, 1994 at St Elizabeth Hospital after an illness.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of Beaumont; he lived in Silsbee most of his life and was employed with Santa Fe Railroad in the maintenance department.
Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Harris of Port Neches; a nephew; and a great-nephew.

Funeral services for Homer E. Wallace, 79, of Kirbyville will be at 4 p.m. today in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. The rev. Don Warden, pastor of the First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Kirbyville Cemetery.
Mr. Wallace died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Newton Memorial Hospital. A native of Lufkin, he moved to Kirbyville in 1941 after having worked in Port Arthur for 16 years. He was retired as an operator for the Texas Company. He was a member of the Nathan Corley Masonic Lodge No. 294, was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Brown Wallace of Kirbyville; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Davis of Newton; one son, J.M. (Buddie) Wallace of Nederland; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Hyche of Kirbyville, Mrs. Margie Day of Gunter, Tex., and Mrs. Lillie Hopson of Belton; and four brothers, Dave Wallace of Merryville, La., William Wallace of Port Arthur, Ray Wallace of Spurger, and George Wallace of Angleton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Clark Walters, 88, of Call will be at 3 p.m. today in Trout Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walters died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 1973 in a Kirbyville hospital.
Survivors include two sons, Archie and D.A. Walters, both of Call; two daughters, Mrs. K.V. Dees and Mrs. M.F. Bean, both of Call; and two sisters, Mrs. Essie Shofner and Mrs. Jennie Reynold, both of Longview.

Funeral for Pearl Walters, 87, of Buna was held Saturday November 24, at Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial in Antioch Cemetery.
She died at 11:45 p.m. Thursday, November 22, 1979 at Buna Nursing Home.
A native of San Augustine County, she had lived most of her life in Buna.
Survivors include a daughter, Hazel York of Beaumont; two sons, Britt Walters of Orange, and Jim Walters of Buna; two brothers Garland Stanley of Buna, and Guy Stanley of Buna; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

KIRBYVILLE – Funeral for Carroll Walton, 75, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home with graveside services at 4 p.m. in Huntington Cemetery.
Walton died at 7 a.m. Friday in Baptist Hospital in Beaumont after a short illness. A native of Broaddus, he had lived here since 1927 and was a retired automobile dealer.
Survivors include one son, Col. John C. Walton of Alexandria, Va.; one brother, Enoch Walton of Houston; two sisters, Nellie Walker of Harlingen and Mollie Schmidt of Barth, Ark.

Pearl Walton, 92, of Kirbyville died February 17, 1997 at Lakes Area Regional Hospital in Jasper.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Call Junction Baptist Church in Kirbyville with a graveside service at 4 p.m. at Myrtle Springs Cemetery near San Augustine under the direction of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
A native of San Augustine County, she lived in Kirbyville 48 years.
Survivors include a son, Richard Walton of New Orleans; daughter, Velma Y’Barbo of Kirbyville; sisters, Jesse Stotts of Nacogdoches, Dovie Bettis of Eunice, La., Ethel Mixson of Cushing and Pauline Whittaker of Tyler; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Homer Lee Ware, 71, died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 1974 in a local hospital.

A native of San Augustine County, he lived here 45 years and was a retired patrolman for DuPont Chemical Co. in Orange.

A lifelong resident of Kirbyville, he was a retired jewelry store owner and former tax assessor for the Kirbyville Independent School District. He was also the former owner of the Dr. Pepper Bottling Co. in Kirbyville.

Mrs. Watson died at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Jasper after an illness. She was a native of Dothan, Ala., and had lived in Kirbyville for 67 years.
Survivors include four sons, Archie Lee Watson Jr. of Wildwood, Harry Watson of Kirbyville and William Watson of Dallas and Jack Watson of Lake Sam Rayburn; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Marsh Watson, 59, of Wildwood, formerly of Beaumont will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Causey's E.E. Stringer Funeral Home. The Rev. John Mills and the A.B. Stockman will officiate. Burial will be in the Watson Chapel Church Yard in Bleakwood.
Pallbearers will be J.C. Miller, Cecil Richardson, John Hall, Vernon Ware, B.B. Wilson and James Singleton.
She died at 9 p.m. Monday, August 16, 1971 in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont after a short illness.

NEWTON – Funeral for Cyrus A. Weaver, 86, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with burial in the Newton City Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Woodville.
He died early Sunday morning in a Rusk hospital after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Newton and a retired farmer.
Survivors include one son, C.L. Weaver of Rusk; one daughter, Fay Salter of Newton; four brothers, Gordon Weaver of Farmersville, La., Theron Weaver of Woodville, Otis Weaver of Conroe and Aubrey Weaver of Kirbyville, and one sister, Sybil Gilbert of Newton.

He died at 3 a.m. Friday, May 30, 1974 in a Beaumont hospital. He was born in Zavalla and had lived most of his life in Kirbyville.

Crash kills woman
KIRBYVILLE – A 67-year-old Kirbyville woman was killed late Thursday when the car she was driving ran off U.S. 96 and slammed into a tree at Kirbyville’s north city limits, authorities said.
Ludie May Weaver, who was head of Kirbyville’s senior center and nutrition program, died in the 11 p.m. one-car crash.
A Jasper County sheriff’s office spokesman said the victim was traveling alone and apparently crossed the highway line into the northbound lane, ran off the shoulder of the road and struck a tree.
Weaver was driving south into Kirbyville and traveled 184 feet after she left the southbound land, the spokesman said. The wreck was investigated by Department of Public Safety Trooper C.E. Wilkinson of Newton.
The body was taken to Causey’s E.E. Stringer Funeral Home here where arrangements are pending.

Newton Resident Dies Of Apparent Seizure
NEWTON (Spl) – Funeral services for Norman Weaver, 67, of Newton will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Friendship church near Roganville with the Rev. Delbert Ross, pastor of Parkwood Baptist Church in Buna and the Rev. Devre Samson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Newton, officiating.
Burial will be in the cemetery adjacent to the church under the direction of Grammier Funeral Home of Newton. Masons will serve as pallbearers. Masonic graveside services will be held.
Weaver was a native of Newton County. He died at 9 p.m. Saturday at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was a retired welder.
He was a member of the Mason Lodge, 294 and the Order of Eastern Star 263, both of Kirbyville; a member of Pipe Fitters Local 195 of Beaumont and of Silsbee Council 380 R&S and Silsbee Chapter 464 RAM, and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newton.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Rubie Weaver of Newton; one son, Norman Weaver of Pasadena; one daughter, Mrs. Kathern Fuller of Port Neches; four brothers, C.A. Weaver of Newton; Tig Weaver of Woodville, Gordon Weaver of Farmersville, La., and Otis Weaver of Conroe; one sister, Mrs. Sybil Gilbert of Conroe; and four grandchildren.
