Mrs. Anderson passed away at her home Jan. 21, 1999. She was a native of Logansport, LA and resided in Port Arthur for 45 years. Memorial services will be held at Central Baptist Church, PA on Sat.. Jan. 23rd at 2:00 p.m. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and is survived by: Son Barry Anderson of Spring, TX, son & daughter-in-law Bryan & Nobuko Anderson of Fla., daughter-in-raw Sherry Morgan of Port Arthur, grandchildren Jaime Duhon of Beaumont, David Duhon of Groves, Ryan Anderson of Maryland, Chris Anderson of Fla., Wes Anderson of Maryland, Brandi Gott of Dallas, great-grandson Kolby Duhon of Groves. She will always be remembered for all her kindness and love for others.

Jacqueline R. Stansbury Battista
FREDERICKSBURG, Va.
Jacqueline R. Stansbury Battista, 74, of Fredericksburg, Va., died Jan. 7 in Kilmarnock, Va. A native of Port Arthur, she had lived in the Washington, D.C. area for 50 years. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and served in the Women's Army Air Corps in World War II, achieving the rank of corporal. She was a member of the Eighth Air Force Historical Society and various charities for children and animals. Services were Thursday at Ft. Myer Chapel, Ft. Myer, Va. Burial was in Arlington National Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Lt. Col D. Paul Battista, USAF (ret.); a son, James Battista of Sacramento, Calif.; two daughters, Michelle Battista of Hamilton, Va., and Teresa Conn of Fairfax, Va.; a brother, Gerald "Jerry" Stansbury of Morro Bay, Calif., and Patricia Doehring of Houston; and five grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Senior Citizen Day Care. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Larry Leduff-Gutierrez, S.S.J. officiating. Burial will be at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include two daughters, Leonide and Claudia Peron of Port Arthur; three sisters, Theresa Fontenette of Austin, Peggy Hamilton of Lafayette and Edmonia Henderson, both of Port Arthur; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson and several other relatives.

BRIDGE CITY - Rodney Vernon Schell, 69, of Bridge City died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Elton, La., he was a former resident of Port Arthur before moving to Bridge City in 1960. He was a retired operator with a local refinery and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. He was a member of Bridge City Masonic Lodge #1345 AF&AM and of the O.C.A.W. Local 4-23. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with the Rev. David Hicks officiating. Burial with masonic graveside rites will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange under the direction of Bridge City Masonic Lodge #1345. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife Jackie; a daughter, Rhonda Gail Schell McCoy of Silsbee; a son, Gordon Clifford Schell of Columbia, S.C.; a brother, Earl Buford Schell Jr. of Clinton, Ark.; two sisters, Helen Leger of Groves and June Silvernail of Kinder, La.; and two grandchildren. HOUSTON - Patricia Theriot-McDaniel, 59, died Thursday in Houston. A native of Port Arthur, she was a longtime resident of Houston. She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and an employee of JMA Properties, where she worked as an apartment manager. She received many awards during her apartment managerial career. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Brookside Funeral Home in Houston. Burial will follow in Brookside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Survivors include her husband Virgil E. Chisum Jr.; a daughter, Julie Kubrick; a son, Todd McDaniel; two stepsons, Edward and Randall Chisum; a sister, Doris Ladd; a brother, Roy Theriot; and three grandchildren.

He was a retired inspector from Texaco and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Mens' Bible Class at the United Methodist Temple, and of the Masonic Lodge in Port Arthur. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves with the Rev. Roger Shuemate officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be form 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife Barbara; two daughters, Jane Rech of Denver, Colo., and Billie Webb of Longmont, Colo.; a sister, Eva Turner of Houston; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
