Tom Blake Brantley, 89, of Houston died Aug. 2 [1998] at Memorial City. Hospital in Houston.
Funeral was at Presbyterian Church of the Convenant in Port Arthur with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
A native of Paris, Texas, he lived in Port Arthur 63 years before moving to Houston and was a retired chemical engineer for Gulf Oil.
Survivors include daughters, Cynthia Louise Brantley of Davis, Calif., and Betty Sue Norton of Katy; sister, Robbie Virginia Brantley of Paris; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
C.A. "Al" Donaldson
C.A. "Al" Donaldson, 80, of Lumberton died Aug. 3 [1998] at Baptist Hospital.
A memorial service was held at Broussard's Mortuary in Beaumont. A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., he lived in the Beaumont area 30 years and was a retired sales representative in advertising and insurance. He was also a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Donaldson of Lumberton; stepson, Robert A. Graham of Beaumont; stepdaughter, Mary Helen Graham Otey of Nederland; and three grandchildren.

Lillie Mae Denney, 76, of Port Arthur died Aug. 4 [1998] at her residence.
Funeral was at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Port Arthur with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton-Thompson Funeral Home in Groves.
A native of Lafayette, La.. she lived in Port Arthur many years.
Survivors include her husband. James H. Denney Sr. of Port Arthur; son, James II. Denney Jr. of Houston; daughter, Kathryn Salter of Port Arthur; sister, Anna Bandsma of Port Arthur; and three grandchildren.
Nina Elli Gaston
Nina Elli Gaston, 73, of Port Arthur died Aug. 5 [1998] at St. Luke Hospital in Houston.
Funeral was at St. George's Episcopal Church in Port Arthur. A native of Longview, Wash., she lived in Port Arthur 65 years and was a retired assistant manager. She was also founder of the Mid-County Guide.
Survivors include her husband, W.P. Gaston of Port Arthur; sons, David Gaston and Larry Gaston, both of Houston; sister. Patricia Ellis of Port Arthur; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Jimmie Ruth Hamman
Jimmie Ruth Hamman, 76, of Sour Lake died Aug. 3 [1998] at his residence.
A native of Mineola, she lived in Beaumont 58 years.
Survivors include her husband, E.T. Hamman of Sour Lake; daughters, Ruth Hamman Young of Kountze and Ann Hamman Carpenter of Sour Lake; and five grandchildren.

Albert Johnson, 74, of Groves died Aug. 3 [1998] at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.

A native of Washington, La., he lived in the Groves area 51 years and was a retired welder for Texaco Inc. He was also a World War H Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Jane Johnson of Groves; daughters. Charlotte Whitehead of Vidor and Faith Ann Laurents of Groves; sons, Greg Johnson of Groves and Steven Johnson of Port Arthur; sister, Rita Billman of Augusta, Ga.; brother, Adam Johnson of Groves; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Elsie Mae Leger, 82, of LaBelle died Aug. 4 [1998] at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.

She was a lifelong resident of LaBelle.

A native of Paris, France, he lived in Beaumont many years, was a retired appliance technician and a Korean War Army veteran.

A native of Nederland, he lived in Groves most of his life and was a student at Port Neches-Groves High School.

Florence Katherine Popken, 95, of Nederland died Aug. 4 [1998] at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves.
A graveside service was held at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth under the direction of Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
A native of Fort Worth, she lived in Nederland 44 years.

Catherine Tooley Brown
Catherine Tooley Brown, 80, of Port Arthur died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2001, at her home.
A lifelong resident of Port Arthur, she was a retired nurse from Christus St. Mary Hospital with 27 years of service. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. James Vanderholt officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with a rosary
