Funeral services for Pat M. Olivo, 74, of Burleson will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21 at Calvary Pentecostal Church in Fort Worth. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation is from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. only on Wednesday at Calvary Pentecostal Church. Mr. Olivo died Thursday, November 15, 2001, in Auburn, New York. He was the former owner of Arrow Lock and Key in Burleson. He was born December 17, 1926, in Auburn, New York. A veteran of World War II and Korea, Mr. Olivo retired from the Air Force in 1971. He then worked in the dry cleaning industry and later owned and operated Arrow Lock and Key in Burleson. He also served as a secretary for Metroplex Locksmith Association. He was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church. Mr. Olivo was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Inez Olivo.

Funeral services for Opal Orean Davis, 70, of Joshua, were held Friday, November 16 at Retta Baptist Church. Burial was at Cope Cemetery. Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, November 14, 2001, at her home after a courageous three year battle against cancer. She was a homemaker. She was born March 23, 1931, in Titusville County, Oklahoma to Ernest Cleveland and Jennie Orean McPike Williams. The family moved to Tarrant County when she was five. She attended Rendon Elementary and Mansfield High School, and lived in the Rendon and Retta communities until 1998. Opal and husband, Richard, retired in Mineola, moving to Joshua in June, 2001. She was active in Retta Baptist Church and North Side Baptist Church in Mineola. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her parents; brother, E.C. Williams, Jr.; half-brother, Dewey Williams; first husband, Lester Coppock; and great-grandson, Jacob Moore. He was a retired Machinist for Kodata, Inc. of Fort Worth He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Joshua, a member of Caddo Grove Lodge #352 of Joshua and a life member of VFW Post #6872. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Conn was preceded in death by his wife, M. Patricia Conn in 1989. Mr. Grassi died Wednesday, November 7, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an A/C specialist retired from Southwestern Bell. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on February 20, 1930. He served in the U.S. Navy as a navigator. He worked for 40 years as an auto mechanic; he enjoyed his computer and had a love for camping. He was a member of the Alvarado American Legion and the VFW. Mr. Grassi is survived by his wife, Mae; children, Sandra, Leonard C, Michael, Mark, Michelle, Tony, Kim, Jimmy, Tina and Jane; sisters, Ruth, Jean and Judy; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a few great-great-grandchildren; and an abundance of friends. Mrs. Esters died Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at her son's home after a lengthy illness. She was a retired Fort Worth Public School systems cafeteria employee for 13 years and manager for six years. Mrs. Esters was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Esters, in August of 1995. Graveside services for Florene A. Tye, 92, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10 at Tye Cemetery. Florene died Thursday, November 8, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was born March 8, 1909, in the Oak Grove community near Burleson to John and Della Tye. Early in life it was evident that Florene did not have the intellectual ability of most children. Nevertheless, her life was an outstanding success. Florene's life found meaning and purpose in her love for home and family. Her highest achievement was her unconditional love and acceptance of others. She will be remembered for that love and for the joy she brought into the lives of those who lives she touched. Florene was a resident of Austin State School from 1916 to 1965, after which time she lived with her cousin Mrs. Ruth Norwood Likins of Abilene. She enjoyed club activities and extensive travel with her cousin until Mrs. Likins' death in 1979. She also enjoyed music, the company of friends and family gatherings. Florene was a member of The General Society of Mayflower Descendants. During her active years she was a member of Order of The Eastern Star,Abilene Chapter#30. Florene was preceded in death by her brothers Jesse L. Tye in 2000, Robert W. Tye in 1994, Taylor N. Tye in 1972, and Hayden A. Tye in 1953. She is survived by sister-in-law, Mrs. Addie Tye of Burleson; nephew, Roger G. Tye of Alvarado; nieces, Mrs. Virginia Watkins of Burleson and Mildred Tye of Burleson. Reverend Leasel Green and Mr. David Bardin officiated. Interment was in Eastview Cemetery. Mrs. Matney died Wednesday, October 31, 2001, at her home in Mountain Valley. She was born April 1, 1905, in Comanche, Oklahoma to the late Robert and Sadie Prather Dudley. She married Chester Green on December 5, 1923, in Comanche. He preceded her in death in 1961. She later married Clyde Matney in July of 1964, in Bowie, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1971. She also lived in Odell, Bowie and Wichita Falls. Mrs. Matney was also preceded in death by her son, Darwyn Green, in 1984. She is survived by two sons, Lloyd Green of Joshua and Leasel Green of Burleson; two daughters, Oleta Mae Wiley of Wichita Falls and Patsy Bardin of Durango, Colorado; one sister, Winnie Hynson of Weatherford, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was born October 28, 1934, in Somervell County, Texas to William Bill and Edith Allen. She married James W. Watson on September 29, 1976, in Fort Worth. She lived in Burleson for 27 years. Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, James Watson; daughter, Pandy; and her parents, William and Edith Allen. Funeral services for Samuel Thomas "Sam" Baxter, 61 of Joshua will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 4 at Mountain Valley Chapel. Mr. Baxter died Monday, October 29, 2001, in Ferndale, Michigan. He was a driver for J.B. Hunt. He was a truck driver for 40 years and an OTR driver for J.B. Hunt for the past two years. He had formerly been a heavy equipment operator for Lone Star Gas for 15 years. He was an avid fisherman and had served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife, Georgia A. Burial followed at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Brown died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at her home. She was born October 8, 1923, in DeQueen to the late Hilliard and Wilma Barnes Williams. She was a member of the DeQueen Church of Christ. During World War II, Mrs. Brown was employed at Lone Star Ammunition Plant in Texarkana. Later, she and her husband, George, owned and operated Brown's Grocery in the Chapel Hill Community. However, the role she devoted her life to most of all was that of a Christian wife, mother and homemaker. She and her husband, George, celebrated 55 years of marriage on October 19, 2001. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by son-in-law, John Tollett, of Hershey, Pennsylvania. She is survived by her husband, George E. Mrs. Lane died Sunday, October 21, 2001, in Burleson. She was a retired Bank One employee. She was born April 7, 1932, in Dallas County. She attended schools in Meridian and graduated in 1950. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Burleson. Mrs. Lane was a devoted grandmother of four and an active volunteer for Taylor Elementary, Stribling Elementary, Boy Scouts of America Troop 527, with a goal of having grandsons honored as Eagle Scouts as well as baseball, football and soccer. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, traveling and manicuring her yard. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Glenn H. Lane. Mrs. McMillan was preceded in death by two husbands, James Floyd (Bo) Parrish and Robert Allen (Bob) McMillan; and son, Larry James Parrish. RAY V. "DICK" HOEFLEIN
Funeral services for Ray V. "Dick" Hoeflein, 81, were held Monday, October 15 at Valley Memorial Park Chapel in Novato, California. A reception was held immediately following the service at The Novato Horseman's Club. Mr. Hoeflein passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2001. He was born in Crowley. While living in Texas he worked as a rodeo clown. He was a charter member of the Cowboys Turtle Association, which later became the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. Mr. Hoeflein lived in Marin County for 45 years. When he moved to California, he began a career as a marine carpenter. In the early 1970's, he and his wife owned and operated Cal's Steak House in San Rafael. Later, he and his wife owned and operated "The Biggest Little Flower Shop In The World" at the entrance of Spenger's Fish Grotto in Berkeley. He was married to Gladys H. Hoeflein for 54 years. She passed away in June, 2001. Mr. Hoeflein is survived by his devoted son, Howard Ray Hoeflein and Caryn Reade of Penngrove, California; sister and brother-in-law, Berniece H. and Ed T. She was born in rural Pelelope-Birone in Hill County on May 10, 1913, to parents Paul Alexander Wimbish and Bessie Allen Crawford Wimbish of Milford. She was married 66 years to her beloved husband, Ray P. Wade. Her love and compassion will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. Mrs. Worley died Thursday, October 4, 2001, at a Fort Worth hospital. She was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Burleson since 1983. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1954 and attended Texas Wesleyan College. She met and married Joe Worley in 1954. She was the mother of one daughter and two sons. Since her husband was a United Methodist minister, Mrs. Worley spent her entire married life as a minister's wife. She raised her children in parsonages around Texas, and as a chaplain's wife, around the world. Her role as a minister's wife took her to Georgia, New York, Colorado, Oklahoma and Germany. Throughout the task of moving, adjustments and meeting new people, she remained a loving mother, devoted wife and a church and community activist. Mrs. Worley was preceded in death by her father and a sister.

She was born April 25, 1913, in Fort Worth, the daughter of John McFee Stinnett and Ida Irene Mosley Stinnett. She had been a lifelong resident of the Fort Worth area. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burleson, and was a past worthy matron of Tarrant Chapter #8, OES. Mrs. Mattinson was preceded in death by her husband, Ray E. She was born March 25, 1931, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin to Charles and Nina Chariton. She and her late husband, Glenn, resided in Fort Worth since 1952 and established their business, Lancaster Automotive, on the east side of Fort Worth for over eight years. She was an Episcopalian and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and quilting for her friends and family, and spending time with her loyal dog, Tia. She was a loving person and a friend to all she met. Mrs. Tresidder was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Tresidder of Fort Worth.

He was born September 30, 1934, in Burleson to George Robert and Rhoda Hilde-brand Russell. He was an Army veteran of Korea, and the first rural mail carrier in Joshua. He served as the mayor of Joshua for two terms, was a city councilman for two terms, and also served as Johnson County Commissioner. In the 1960's Mr. Russell helped establish the first organization to help mentally challenged children, which eventually became MHMR. He also helped establish the First National Bank of Joshua and served as bank director. Mr. Russell coached little league softball for his daughters and was on the JISD school board. He was a business owner, a volunteer fireman, and a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church of Joshua and was very active in his community. He will be missed by many. He was a loving DADDY, husband and PaPa. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by two grandsons.

Funeral services for John A. Reedy, Sr., 59, of Burleson were held Friday, September 14 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial was at Burleson Memorial Park. Mr. Reedy died Tuesday, September 11, 2001, in Fort Worth. He was a retired self-employed utility contractor. He was a member of the National Greyhound Association for 35 years. He loved to sit on the back porch and watch his dogs run and play. He loved his grandchildren and spending quiet time with his family. Mr. Reedy's favorite hobby was fishing; and he loved watching John Wayne movies and always had to be in control of the TV remote control. Mr. Reedy was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Reedy and Mattie Inez Crutcher Reedy, and by his brother, Leslie Reedy. She was born April 4, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas to William and Bessie Bain Hise.
Mrs. Sikora was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Sikora.

Ms. Legion died Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at her home. She was a property manager for KMR Management.
She had been a resident of Burleson for ten years and a longtime resident of Everman where she was active with the Everman Youth Association as a commissioner and girl's softball coach. She enjoyed golf and fishing, and was a member of Mountain Valley Country Club. Mr. Young died Saturday, August 18, 2001, in Fort Worth. He was an Aircraft Assembler for Lockheed Martin for 16 1/2 years.
He was born January 20, 1947, in Fort Worth to Everett Eugene and Dorothy Hunt Young. He married Vicky Love on July 14, 1989, in Carter County, Oklahoma. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, attached to the 67 W 30 helicopter detachment. Mrs. Davenport died Sunday, August 19, 2001, at a Fort Worth hospice house. She was a homemaker. She was born September 16, 1926, in Cullman, Alabama.

Funeral services for Robert G. (Bob) Mauldin, Sr., 68, of Burleson were held Friday, August 17 at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial was at Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Active pallbearers were Floyd Brown, Everett Summers, Allen Pennington, Melvin Ables, Jimmie Coontz and Fred Raulston. Honorary pallbearers were Lester Hughes and Ken Seawright.
Mr. Mauldin died Monday, August 13, 2001, at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth under the care of Vitas Hospice. He was retired from his family-owned business.
Mr. Mauldin attended Southwestern Texas University in San Marcos and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burleson and a Baptist Deacon for 30 years. He was a member of various community groups and was involved in many community activities in various cities throughout his life. Mr. Mauldin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Melba Mauldin of Burleson; sons, Robert Mauldin, Jr., and wife, Donna, of Eagle River, Alaska, and Jeff Mauldin and wife, Sandra, of Peaster, Texas; daughter, Michelle Walters and husband, Ted, of Denison, Texas; five grandchildren, Michaela, Catherine, Candace, David and Peter Mauldin; sister-in-law, Bernice Mauldin of San Marcos; brother-in-law, Jack Caraway and wife, Luanne, of Kyle, Texas; one niece; and three nephews. Graveside services for Raymond (Ray) Brooks, 60, of Saginaw, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18 at Bethesda Cemetery in Burleson.
Mr. Brooks died Thursday, August 16, 2001, at a Fort Worth hospital. He was a retired machinist and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Brooks was born June 30, 1941, in Girard, Texas. Raised in Burleson, he was a man of many interests. He played basketball for many years on Fort Worth leagues. He was a Commercial Artist, a Silversmith, a Musician, and a Music Critic for popular magazines. He was in the midst of his next publication entitled Texas Music Magazine. He loved his computer and stayed in contact with many friends and relatives via e-mail.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his father, John Raymond Brooks.
He is survived by his mother, Ludena Brooks; son, Terry Brooks and wife, Liz, and step-grandchildren, Heather and Jeff, all of Fort Worth; daughter, Radonna Kemper and husband, Kurt, and granddaughter, Brittany, all of Kennedale; sister, Doris Sparkman and husband, Don, of Godley; brother, John Brooks and wife, Janet, of Salem, Oregon.
