Mable Lee Adams, 71, of Joshua died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at a Fort Worth hospice house. She was a retired inventory control specialist for Alcon Laboratories. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 20 at Mountain Valley Chapel. Burial was at Caddo Cemetery. Mable Lee Adams, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, was called home to Heaven on Sunday, November 17, 2002. She was born October 23, 1931, in Rotan, Texas, the daughter of Homer and Winnie Munday Bostic. She was a 1951 graduate of Davy Crockett High School in Palestine, Texas. She was with Alcon Laboratories for 18 years prior to her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and making her special candies during the Christmas season. Mable was a very caring and giving person, and her sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Mable is survived by her husband, Robert C. Adams of Joshua; son, Jimmy R. Adams of Joshua; daughters, Patricia Markham and husband, Brian, of Joshua, Terri Duke and husband, Fred, of Cleburne; brother, Buford Bostic of Denison; sisters, Inez Boren of Channelview, Ruth Wilmoth of Midland; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. STANLEY "PA PA" BASS
1925-2002
Stanley "PaPa" Bass, 77, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at his home in Arlington. He was the retired founder of Fort Worth Aluminum Foundry, Inc. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 20 at the First Baptist Church of Burleson. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Mr. Bass was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burleson. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. As an active Mason and Shriner, he belonged to the Handley Masonic Lodge #1140, Sunrise Daylight Lodge #1433, Crowley Masonic Lodge #1437, Tranquility Masonic Lodge #2000, Moslah Shrine, Scottish Rite, Handley Chapter and Council, Worth Commandery #19, Tejas Council A.M.D., Handley Chapter Eastern Star #617, Crowley Eastern Star #1125, and the El Texa Grotto. He was past Chairman of the Texas Chapter of the American Foundry Society, past member of the National Board of Directors of the American Foundry Society, past Chairman of the North Texas American Society for Metals, and retired Executive Director of the Texas Cast Metals Association. Stanley was very active in a number of youth organizations in the Handley area of Fort Worth. He was very proud of the fact that his children followed in the family business, and he delighted in his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille Bass in 2000. He is survived by sons, Stan Bass and wife, Jan, of Arlington, and Brian Bass of Rendon; daughter, Eugenia Davies of Saginaw; two sisters, Lillie McAninch of Houston and Lois Southerland of Burleson; five grandchildren, John, Michael, Meagan, and Molly Bass and Elena Davies; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Texas Masonic Retirement Center, 1501 West Division, Arlington, Texas 76012. Jillian Denise Bullard, 20, of Crowley died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at a Fort Worth hospital. She was a Cracker Barrel employee in Burleson. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 22 at The Church at Burleson. Burial will be at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Burleson. Jill was born September 1, 1982, in Fort Worth to Jerry Don and Lori Michele Herron Bullard. She was a 2001 graduate of Burleson High School and a member of The Church at Burleson and Loving Hearts Ministry. SUGAR BILL MC CLURE

Sugar Bill McClure, 75, of Burleson died Friday, November 15, 2002, at a local hospital. He was a retired 38 year Southwestern Bell employee. Interment was Sunday, November 17 at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church in Burleson. Sugar Bill was born December 24, 1926, in Crosbyton, Texas, to Lon Carl and Willie Lee Drake McClure. He married Mary Moore on November 6, 1953, in Hillsboro. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Sugar Bill was a member of First Baptist Church in Burleson where he served as a deacon, and also volunteered with the Texas Baptist Men's Association. He served on the Burleson ISD School Board for six years, and was always helping family and friends in time of need. Sugar Bill loved his grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary McClure of Burleson; sons, David McClure and wife, Judie, of Itasca, Dennis McClure and wife, Leigh Ann of Cleburne; daughter, Janet Mormon and husband, Danny of Goergetown; sisters, Hazel Batte of Santa Fe, New Mexico, June Crumpton of Hillsboro, Babe Evans of Milford, Jo and Jesse Hampton of Amarillo; grandchildren, Stephenie and Chris Harris of Itasca, Ashley McClure of Arlington, Jake Mormon of Georgetown, Katie McClure of Cleburne, Michelle McClure of Cleburne, Meredith Mormon of Georgetown, Michael McClure of Cleburne. Margaret E. Spurlock, 84, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, in Fort Worth. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 20 at First United Methodist Church of Crowley. Burial was at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Margaret E. Spurlock was born October 11, 1918, in Cash. She retired from TCU Food Services and WT Grant. A resident of Crowley, Margaret was a volunteer at House of Hope and was a monthly luncheon coordinator of Crowley Chamber of Commerce. Margaret is survived by son, Billy George Spurlock and wife, Kay; daughter, Shirley Sims and husband, Don; grandchildren, Frank A. Brian David Gerstle, age 23, died Saturday, October 19, 2002. He was a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marines and a member of Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mr. Gerstle is survived by his parents, David and Nettie Gerstle of Ooltewah, Tennessee; sister, Christina Whaley of Cleveland, Tennessee; grandmother, Jean Thomas of Palestine, Texas; and a number of aunts and uncles. Ms. Korgan passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2002, in Cleburne. She was born June 13, 1911, in Omega, Oklahoma to William Korgan and Rachael Haffner Korgan. She was a retired caregiver who was self-employed. Ms. Korgan was a member of the Cleburne Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is survived by her nieces, Karen Yandell and Naomi Dennis, both of Cleburne, Francine Flemmer of San Antonio and Kathy Price of Oklahoma City; nephews, Ken Korgan, Larry Korgan and Milton Korgan; dear friend, Myrna Winans of Cleburne; sisters-in-law, Ruth Korgan and Viola Korgan. He was born November 28, 1953, in Fort Worth to Forrest Berry Crownover and Vergie V. Steel Crownover. He married Jolene Melton on December 30, 1976, in Keene. Mr. Crownover was of the Church of Christ faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Gearhart-Owens where he worked in Maintenance. Mr. Estes served his country in the United States Air Force. On October 20, 1962, he married Cherrie Thames in Alvarado Mr. Estes was a retired Johnson County Commissioner. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alvarado and a member of the Alvarado Masonic Lodge. Mr. Estes was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ollie Estes; and one brother, Jackie Estes. Katrina Purselley Hamilton, 26, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002, in a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside services were held Friday, October 18 at Nubbin Ridge Cemetery in Hood County. Katrina was born November 7, 1975, in Fort Worth. She was a member of the Williams Road Baptist Church in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Sam Watkins, in 1993. James W. Wilson, 54, of Burleson passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2002, at his home. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, October 24 at Kennedale Church of Christ. James was a member of the Kennedale Church of Christ and of the Donor Society. He enjoyed his employment at Ram Steel Company. James was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil Wilson and Icle Woods; sister, Karen Young; grandmother, Cora Nickerson; and grandmother-in-law, Rachel Luther. Marilyn Taylor, 64, a giving and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away Friday, October 11, 2002, at a Fort Worth hospital after a very courageous fight with a long-term illness. A private service for the family was held Monday, October 14 in the Chapel at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Cleburne. Marilyn was born June 20, 1938, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, to the late Edward and Beatrice Vodde. She was a wonderful and giving person and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Marilyn was preceded in death by a son, Ted Taylor, Jr. She is survived by husband of 46 years, Ted Taylor, Sr. of Cleburne; children, Pam Doby and husband, Billy, of Mansfield, Jeff Taylor and wife, Cindy, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Diane and Justin Doby of Mansfield, Brandon Taylor of Fort Worth; brothers, Dale and Robert Vodde; sisters, Shirley Potaracke, Donna Amundson, Bonita Mannel, Sharon Bion, Linda Vodde and Connie Olson, all of Wisconsin; and a large extended family and many friends. Hazel was born November 10, 1918, in Alvarado. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burleson. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, James Gilbert Collins, in 1997; and grandson, James Everitt Ogle in 1957. Harold LeRoy Foster, Jr., 73, of Burleson passed away Sunday, October 13, 2002, in Fort Worth. Mr. Foster was a Technical Publications Writer. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
