Funeral services for David M. Hope, 65, of Keene will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 8 at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Keene. Pastor Bill Kilgore will officiate. He was a college administrator for Southwestern Adventist University in Keene. He was born in Luling, Texas on November 17, 1935. He served in the U. S. Army. RONALD L. DAVIS

A Celebration of Life for Ronald L. Davis, 66, of Arlington was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at Bethel Temple in Fort Worth. Burial was at Moore Memorial Gardens. Reverend Davis went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at an Arlington hospital. He was a retired Assembly of God minister. He was born June 13, 1934, in East Liverpool, Ohio. He was a graduate of Kent State University and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War. At the end of his enlistment, he met and married Kathleen Ann Nelson. After a successful career in plastics, including becoming the youngest plant manager for Standard Oil Company, he answered God's call on his life and entered the ministry. He served as Pastor of A Place of Worship in Fort Worth and Trinity Church in Burleson, and as Associate Pastor of Bethel Temple in Fort Worth. In 1993, Reverend Davis received a heart transplant at Baylor University Medical Center. He thanked God for the opportunity to have eight more years on earth to enjoy his family and seven beautiful grandchildren. He devoted the last five years of his life to support efforts to increase the awareness of organ donation. Reverend Davis is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathleen Davis; sons, Richard Davis and Raymond Davis and wife, Angela, all of Arlington; daughters, Ronda Campbell and husband, Glen, of Fort Worth and Renee Rogers and husband, Richard, of Danville, California; brother, Francis Smouse; sister, Ora Banks; grandchildren, Ian, Katie and Mary Campbell, Rebekah, Rachel and Reagan Rogers and Ryan Davis; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Joe Yorek, 76, of Fort Worth were held Tuesday, April 3 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Burial was at Laurel Land Memorial Park. Mr. Yorek died Friday, March 30, 2001, at a local hospital. He was a Fort Worth Firefighter, retired after 31 years of devoted service. He was born May 23, 1924. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Mr. Yorek was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nikki Cook; a sister, Catherine Anderson; and both parents. Funeral services for Glenn Gregory Neill, 78, of Burleson were held Thursday, April 5 at First Baptist Church in Burleson. Burial was at Burleson Memorial Park. Mr. Neill died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Fort Worth from Parkinson's complications. He was an oil man. He was born May 7, 1922, in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene High School in 1940 and Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. He did some undergraduate work at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana where he served in the Marine Corps V-12 program. Mr. Neill was the owner and president of Aztech Oil Well Services of Lamesa and Ackerly, Texas, Vice President of Penrose Production Company of Fort Worth and part owner and Vice President of TST Parafin Services of Lamesa, Texas. He was a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen. Mr. Neill was a former member of University Baptist Church in Fort Worth where he was ordained as a deacon and was a Sunday School Teacher. After moving to Burleson in 1972, he joined the First Baptist Church of Burleson and became a deacon there also. He was a former trustee of the Burleson Independent School District and was also a trustee of the Sands Independent School District in Ackerly, Texas. He was formerly on the board of directors of the Child Study Center of Fort Worth and on the board of directors of the Hospice program at Huguley Memorial Hospital in Fort Worth. He was a former member of Rotary International, Colonial Country Club and the Petroleum Club of Fort Worth. He served in the Marine Corps in World War II. Mr. Neill is survived by his wife, Mary, of Burleson; sons, Dr. Max G. Neill and wife, Cherry, of Fort Worth, Dr. Richard B. Neill and wife, Christi, of Fort Worth, and Judge John E. Funeral services for Betty Jean (Gourley) Creacy, 70, of Evant were held Friday, April 6 at the Gatesville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Pearl Cemetery. Mrs. Creacy died on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in a Temple hospital.
She was born January 2, 1931, to the late Louis and Rowene Dildene Gourley. She grew up and attended school in Dripping Springs where she graduated in 1948 as Valedictorian of her class. She married Durwood Creacy on August 4, 1948. After their marriage, they resided in Belton and Salado, then moving to Evant where they have resided for the last 47 years. Mrs. Creacy was a member of the Church of Christ, the Pearl Quilting Club and the Order of the Eastern Star. She cherished and enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, flower gardening, quilting, and was an avid book reader. Mrs. Creacy is survived by her husband, Durwood Creacy of Evant; son, Larry Creacy of Burleson; daughter, Sherry Crain and husband, Doug, of Stephenville; brothers, Buster Gourley, Jr. and Buck Gourley; sisters, Helen Collins and Bobbie Kennedy; grandchildren, Andrea, Brent, Christie, Calandre and Maria; and one great-grandchild, Conner. RUTH PEACOCK

Funeral services for Ruth Peacock, 99, of Fort Worth will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4 at Polytechnic United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Peacock died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at a local nursing home. She was in retail sales at Motts until she retired at age 80. Mrs. Peacock was born April 24, 1901, in Hubbard, Texas to William Wesley and Laura Lipsey Brown, one of nine children. On February 8, 1920, she married William Earl Peacock in Hubbard; they were married for 61 years until Earl's death. After their marriage, Ruth and Earl moved to Waco where three of their children were born. They later moved to Wichita Falls where another son was born, and then to the Poly area of Fort Worth in 1927. Five more children were born in Fort Worth, for a total of nine children. All of the children attended schools in Poly and were very active in local athletics. Mrs. Peacock always attended the children's events and was given a plaque at a Poly High School reunion in 1986 for her sons' athletic contributions. Four of her sons served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and two sons served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. The family were all members of the Polytechnic United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Peacock was a long time member of the Glad Hand Class, and later the Covenant Class; she was a longtime member of United Methodist Women. She was very active in the church teaching Sunday School, working with the youth and taking an active part in many church functions. She was twice honored as the church mother of the year. Mrs. Peacock raised her family in the church and never had a family get-together without holding a devotional. She enjoyed making recorded devotional tapes for her friends and her family. When her father died, Ruth and Earl moved to Hubbard in 1951 and stayed for several years before moving back to Fort Worth. Mrs. Peacock was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; daughter, Juanita Peacock Farris; son, Dexter Peacock; four brothers; four sisters; and one great-grandson, Todd Simms. She is survived by her sons, Buddy and wife, Linnie, of Burleson, Weldon of Poolville, Kenny and wife, Frankie, of Fredericksburg, J.D. and wife, Edith, of Covington, Ed and wife, Cathy, of Burleson, Donald and wife, Carol, of Azle; daughter, Janis Peacock Arnold and husband, Nick, of Columbus; daughter-in-law, Joyce Peacock of Hubbard, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Doyle Brown of Hubbard, Texas. Mr. Dunham died Monday, March 19, 2001, at a Fort Worth hospice house. He was a retired electrical engineer. He was born November 6, 1922, in Bay Shore, Long Island, New York, the son of Percy and Emily Bohec Dunham. He had been a resident of Burleson for 41 years and was a member of Alsbury Baptist Church. Mr. Dunham had been with Docutel in Grand Prairie, retiring in 1985. He was a pioneer in designing ATMs. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and traveling. He was a resident of Burleson for over 25 years. He was an avid fisherman and golfer and loved the outdoors. He was a musician, playing bass guitar with a local group, Four Wheels and a Spare. Mr. Cowley married Sandy Haney in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 16, 1990. He was a member of the Jack County Rough Riders, Host at Fort Richardson State Historical Park in Jacksboro, Texas and ran the Jack County Jamboree at one time. Funeral services for James D. Smith, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas were held Wednesday, March 7 at the Bates-Cooper Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Reverend Steve Newton and Dr. Cecil McLeod officiated. Burial was at Concord Cemetery in Omaha, Texas.
Mr. Smith died Monday, March 5, 2001, at his home after a long illness. He was retired from Chickasha Cotton Oil Company as Vice-President in 1990.
He was born September 27, 1924, in Omaha, Texas, the son of Marvin and Ethel Smith. He graduated from Omaha High School in 1941. His formal education was received through Lasalle Business Institute and other correspondence schools and colleges.
Mr. Smith served with the U.S. Navy in World War II, receiving an honorable discharge in May, 1946, with the rating of SK2/C. He married Jean Harvey of Omaha on May 28, 1946. To this union one son, Timothy, was born.
Mr. Smith was Cubmaster 1964-65 and Scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America 1968-69 in Collinsville, Illinois. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Scouts 1974-75 in Joshua, Texas. He was a member of the Cottonseed Crushers Association Old Guard since 1986.
Mr. Smith was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He had served as Elder and Deacon at his church in Collinsville, Illinois, and Elder of his church in Joshua. He was an avid fisherman, and loved bowling, country-western music and dancing.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by parents, James Marvin Smith and Ethel Clayton Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Smith of Mt. Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Jan Smith of Burleson; two grandsons, Colte and Paden Smith of Burleson; one sister, Johnnie Mae Parker of Omaha, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wilma and Johnny Fields of Hughes Springs; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Dell Harvey of Greenville; special friend and business associate, Dwayne Tucker and wife, Billie, of Kings County; many friends, nieces and nephews. Mr. Walker died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his home. He was a retired U.S. Postal Services Director of Finance after 32 years of service.
He was born February 21, 1925, in Henrietta, Oklahoma to John Quincey and Gracie Bell Walker. He served his country during World War II in the Air Transport Division of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a Mason and Past Master of Tabernacle Lodge 1195 and affiliated member of Crowley Lodge 1437. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Moslah Shrine and various other Masonic organizations. He was a Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Godley. He was a graduate of Godley High School. Mr. Walker was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, as well as a loyal and generous friend to many. He enriched the lives of all those he came to know and love.

He was born April 28, 1926, in Azle, Texas to Gordon Alfred and Mary Savilla Admire Culver. His ancestors came from Somerset, Maryland and Sussex County, Delaware to Hancock County, Georgia, and then to Alabama in 1790. His grandfather came to the Azle area in 1891 where he is buried. Mr. Culver married Dorothy Fay Adkison while he was in the Navy during World War II. After the war he and Fay moved to Fort Worth where they raised their family. In 1962, they moved their family to Burleson. Mr. Culver is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Fay Adkison Culver; sister, Iva Mae Sparks of Fort Worth; daughter, Tina Darlene Summers and her husband, James, of Hamilton, Texas; sons, Jimmy Gordon Culver and his wife, Elaine, of Austin, Randal Wayne Culver and his wife, Mary, of Silver Springs, Maryland, Mark Steven Culver of Mineola, Texas, and Rick Culver and his wife, Elizabeth, of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Maribeth Shea, 35, died while asleep Saturday, January 27, 2001, in Crowley. Funeral services and interment were held February 1, 2001, in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. Maribeth was born November 25, 1965, in Ithaca, New York. She was a loving and vibrant Christian mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her passing dims a brightness in the lives of those who knew her. Maribeth had recently relocated to this area for health reasons. She was a third year honor student at Penn State University majoring in Criminal Justice. At the time of her death she was preparing a transfer to the University of Texas at Arlington to continue her education toward a law degree. Maribeth is survived by her mother and stepfather, Cindy and Dan Cramsey of Burleson; father and stepmother, Edward and Deb Shea of Springhill, Florida; sons, Nethanial, 18, and Tommy Lee, seven months; daughter, Emily, seven; sisters, Wendy Shea Slaugh of Cortland, New York, and Heather and Megan Shea of Springhill; brother, Paul Keenahan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; aunts, uncles, cousins and many saddened friends in Texas, Pennsylvania, New York and Florida. A memorial fund in Maribeth's name has been established at Penn State University for assistance to returning adult students.
