Syphrett
Pauline Hughett Syphrett, 92, died August 1, 2002 in Beaumont, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donley and survived by daughters Donna Price and husband Paul of Beaumont, Linda Wood of Nashville and grandson Paul Price III of Houston. She was born in LaVita, Texas on October 30, 1909 and was the first graduation class of Texas Tech University in 1929 and remained a staunch supporter all of her life. After moving to Liberty, Texas in 1948 she became active in her community, church and school system. She taught school for 26 years. She was a lifetime member of the Liberty Women s Trivium Club, the W.S.C.S., The Faith Class of Liberty United Methodist Church and The Liberty Garden Club, serving on the various boards in many capacities. She was a volunteer for many organizations including P.T.A., Friends of the Library and American Association of University Women. After moving to Beaumont in 1996 she remained a loyal member and listener to the Methodist Ministries of Liberty. Although in later life poor sight and hearing limited her physical participation, her enthusiasms were widespread and she faithfully followed the exploits of her beloved Red Raiders, The Houston Astros & Rockets and The Dallas Cowboys.
Family and Friends are asked to meet at the Funeral Home at 2:00 PM, graveside services will be held in Liberty, Texas on Sunday, August 8, 2002 at Fairlawn Cemetery, FM 563 Liberty, Texas. John Barrett Jeffrey, 35 of Liberty, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002 in Devers.
Funeral service will be held at 10am, Friday, August 2, 2002 at First Baptist Church Liberty with Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 5pm until 9pm on Thursday at Allison Funeral Service.
John was a life long resident of Liberty. He was a rice farmer and a member of First Baptist Church of Liberty, Magnolia Ridge Country Club, American Rice Growers Co-Op Assn., Sons of the American Revolution, Ducks Unlimited and served on the board of directors for Southeast Texas Agricultural District and the Texas Rice Producers. He enjoyed hunting, golf, and he worked and played outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his father Barry Neil Jeffrey; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. C.B. Jeffrey. He is survived by his wife Kristal Rose Jeffrey; daughter Georgia Jeffrey both of Liberty; step-daughter Lacey Hancock of Jasper; mother Joan Jeffrey of Liberty; sister Julia Rathgeber of Austin; grandmother Mrs. J.W. Green Timpson.
Pallbearers will be Mark Stoesser, Stevie Devillier, Grayson Pipkin, Jeff Johnson, Trevor Neale, Culley Devillier, Richie Devillier, and Chris Hacker. Eddlemon
Patsy Clarice Eddlemon, 63, of Tarkington Prairie, Texas died Monday, July 29, 2002 at the Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood.
A native of Macedonia, she had lived in the Liberty County area her entire life. She is a member of the Joy Fellowship Church in Tarkington Prairie and was a retired custodian for the Tarkington Independent School District.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 2, 2002 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with the Rev. Malcolm Land officiating. Burial will follow at the Ryan Cemetery in Tarkington Prairie.
She is survived by here Husband: Thurman Eddlemon of Tarkington Prairie; Brother: Joe Smith and his wife Faye of Dayton; Sisters: Pearl Vandver of Jacinto City, Gladys Franklin of Macedonia, Amy Crippens and her husband Lloyd of Jacinto City, Charlene Gregory of Dayton and Norma Hicks and her husband Gene of Crosby; 17 Nieces and Nephews, 27 Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews and 7 Great-Great Nieces and Great-Great-Nephews.

Mason John Cain, age 99, of Moss Hill, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Cleveland.
He was a native and lifelong resident of the Polk and Liberty counties area. He was a former grocery store owner0perator and was a member of the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for the last 70 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Arizona Creek Wildlife Association, member of the Masonic Lodge of Warren, a past deputy game warden, a logger and a cattle rancher. He was the son of the late Maxie Cain and the late Dora (Gay) Cain.
He is survived by his Daughters: Alline (Cain) Kyle & husband bill of Vidor and Kathleen (Cain) Harris & husband Carroll of Fort Worth; Sons: Garthel Cain and wife Pauline of Broaddus, Norman Cain & wife Margie of Moss Hill, Bowen Cain of Moss Hill and Donald Cain & wife Linda of Lumberton; Sisters: Henrietta Burris of Moss Hill and Edna McCormick of Hardin; Brother: Forman Cain & wife Cassie of Deer Park; Daughter-in-law Shirley Barnhart of LaPorte; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Hillyer
Oscar Hillyer, Jr., 88, of Anahuac, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 27, 2002.
A service of celebration will be at First United Methodist Church of Anahuac at 1 Pm, Tuesday, July 30, 2002 with burial following at Anahuac Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will be at 3 Pm, in the Methodist Youth Center. Visitation will be held from 5 Pm to 9 Pm, Monday, at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac.
Oscar was born December 17, 1913 in Sour Lake to parents; Eddie O. Hillyer, Sr. and Anne Stafford Hillyer, a former resident of Smith Point and Houston, he has resided in the Anahuac area for the past 15 years. He was a self made man rising from the oil fields of Sour Lake, to the Supervisor of Employee Relations of the producing department for the Houston division of Texaco, and retired from Texaco in 1976 after 43 years of service. He was also past president of the Houston Personnel Association and chairman of the United Fund, past president of the Anahuac Chapter 1171 of AARP, member, bazaar chairman, and chairman to the board of trustees of the First United Methodist Church.
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren who along with everyone else affectionately called him 'Poppy'. He loved to entertain his many friends and family with food, song, and stories along with gifts from his woodworking shop. He was a truly unique individual. He was a born leader with an infectious positive personality and untiring devotion to his family, church and community who will greatly miss him.
Mr. Hillyer was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Stafford Hillyer, and sister: Hyacinth Schmeitzel. Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Mae Hillyer of Anahuac, their two sons: Eddie Hillyer and wife Fay of Beaumont and Dick Hillyer and wife Nancy of Spring, sister: Pat Hoeber of Concan, brother: Ray Hillyer of Pensacola, FL., six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Roy Raymond Powell, 80, of Liberty, Texas died Friday, July 26, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 28, 2002 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Devers with Rev. Harry McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Whittington Cemetery. Visitation will be at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, Saturday, July 27, 2002 from 5 PM until 9 PM.
Mr. Powell was a native of Gainesville, Texas and had been a resident of Liberty for over fifty-six years. He was a rice farmer and enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and farming. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Powell is preceded in death by his parents: Ira Cluade Powell and Velma Eugene Webster Powell, Wife and Brother: Jack Powell.

Dairrell Glynn Pilgreen, age 23, of Saratoga, Texas, died Friday, July 26, 2002 in Liberty.
He was the son of the late Albert Pilgreen and Lillie (Singleton) Messer. He was a native of Silsbee, had lived most of his life in Hardin County and was an Oil Field Roughneck. He is also survived by his wife Angela Slaughter of Spurger; One Daughter: Carley Pilgreen of Spurger, One Sons: Dave Pilgreen of Spurger; Two Sisters: Kitten Sthram of Saratoga and Amanda Thompson of Saratoga: Six Brothers: Travis Pilgreen of Saratoga, Olan Pilgreen of Kountze, Beret Pilgreen of Baytown, Leonard Pilgreen of Vidor, Jesse Pilgreen of Iowa and Daniel Pilgreen of Silsbee and Grandmother: Lillie Singleton of Batson.

He was a native and lifetime resident of Batson, worked in the petroleum industry for 50 years, was an avid horseman and fisherman and was a member of the Westend Baptist Church in Saratoga. Edwin Ray Hylton, Sr., 71 of Liberty died on Thursday, July 25, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 27, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Allison Funeral Service with Bro. Wilburn L. Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Worthy Cemetery in Liberty, Texas.
Mr. Hylton was born on June 11, 1931 in Highlands, Texas. He had lived in the Liberty County area since 1972. He was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. He was a member of the Elks Lodge & American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Randolph & Kate Chandler Hylton: wife: Billie Hill Hylton: Sister Helen Jasek.
Mr. Hylton is survived by Son: Edwin Ray Hylton, Jr. & wife Cynthia of Liberty; Daughters: Claudia Jones & husband Rick of Highlands, B. J. Felton LeNormand, 79, of Moss Hill, Texas died Wednesday, July 24, 2002 at Golden Charm Nursing Home in Liberty.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2002 at 10:00 AM at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, Texas with Rev. James B. Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Allison Funeral Service in Liberty, Thursday, July 25, 2002 from 5 PM until 9 PM.
Mr. LeNormand was a native of Hull and lifelong resident of Liberty County. He was a carpenter and loved animals, especially cows, hogs and rabbits. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and was an avid sports watcher especially football, and basketball on TV He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II.
Felton is preceded in death by his parents: John & May Fregia LeNormand, two brothers: Elton LeNormand & Rolla LeNormand and Sister: Nora Baxter.

Rusty Lynn Roehr, age 19, of Dayton died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at his residence.
He was a native of Eastland, Texas, was a longtime resident of Dayton, graduated from Dayton High School in 2002 and was a member f Faith Tabernacle Church in Tarkington Prairie. He was the son of Mitchell Roehr and Dana (Duncan) Roehr of Dayton.
He is also survived by his two Sisters: Kimberly Roehr of Dayton and Joanie Roehr of Dayton; Two Brothers: Ricky Roehr of Dayton and Pete Ladner of Dayton; Grandparents: Richard and Joan Roehr of Silverton, Texas and Norene Ducan of Cisco, Texas along with numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Church Family.
He was preceded in death by his Grandfather: Lon Duncan.

Williamson
Brunson Ellis "Punkin" Williamson, 64 of Hardin, died Sunday, July 21, 2002 in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Allison funeral Service with Rev. Tony Hines officiating. Interment will follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 9PM, Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Williamson was a life long resident of Hardin graduating from Hardin High School. He was a diesel mechanic and owned his own shop. He was a Baptist by faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, flowers and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his father Bun Williamson and his father-in-law & mother-in-law M. B. & Jewel Campbell Coward.
"Punkin" is survived by his wife Lynn Coward Williamson; daughter Laurie Anderson; sons Bull Williamson & wife Ramona al of Hardin, Mike Williamson & wife Crystal of Liberty; and 7 grandchildren.
Hancock
Marjorie May Hancock, 77 of Batson died Saturday, July 20, 2002 in a Houston Hospital after a brief illness. Services are planned for Monday, July 22, 2002 at the First Baptist Church in Batson, TX at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Guedry Cemetery in Batson. Visitation will be Sunday, July 21 from 5 PM until 9 PM at the church.
Mrs. Hancock was born July 23, 1924 to parents Clyde E. Morris and Viola Scott. She married Isaac L. Hancock and to this marriage was blessed 2 sons Luther Lynn Hancock and Leslie Hancock. Mrs. Hancock enjoyed reading, raising cattle, spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and watching the Houston Sports Teams. She also enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to this she helped at the Republican poles during the elections.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by her husband of 58 years, Isaac Hancock; sons: Luther Lynn Hancock and wife Barbara and Leslie Hancock & wife Sherry all of Batson; 4 grandchildren; Lynn Hancock Jr. & wife Hollie of Beaumont, Brandye Hancock of Batson, Jason Hancock & wife Lexi and by Kristen Hancock-White & husband Joe Bob of the US Navy. Two great grandchildren also survive Baleigh Hancock and Lauren Fregia.
Mrs. Hancock is preceded by her parents Clyde Morris and Viola Scott Morris and by 2 sisters Nancy Morris and Mamie Williams.

Herbert Jerry Fatheree, 58, of Edmond, Oklahoma, died Thursday, July 18, 2002 in Edmond.
A native of Monroe, Louisiana and a former resident of Baytown, Mr. Fatheree had hoped to make his retirement home in Dayton. He had worked in the construction business for 40 years and had traveled and lived all over the United States. He was a Member and deacon in the full Gospel Church in Louisiana.
Survivors include his Wife: Mary Fatheree of Edmond, Oklahoma; Mother : Ethel Fatheree of Alexandria, LA; Sons: William Todd Fatheree of Monroe, LA, Ricky R. Jack Lloyd Carter, 46, of Navarre Beach, Florida, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 in Pensacola, Florida.
A native of Liberty, Mr. Carter had lived in Florida for the past five years. He was a 1974 graduate of Liberty High School, an alumnus of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, and a member of the Heights Baptist Church in Liberty. While at Stephen F. Austin State University, he enjoyed playing rugby and made many friends. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his Father: Clarence B. Carter.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with the Rev. Mark Payne officiating. Burial will be held at 4:30 PM at the Fairlawn Cemetery in Liberty.

Hanson 'Bubba' Nugent, Jr., of Hardin, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at the Mother Francis Hospital in Jacksonville.

Bubba was born February 6, 1947 in Liberty, to parents; Hanson Nugent, Sr. and Kathrine Dowdell, and has resided in the Hardin area throughout his life. He was a Roustabout for Brown and Root, a member of the Hardin Baptist Church, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and drawing.
Mr. Nugent was preceded in death by his father: Hanson Nugent, Sr. and brother: Charles Lee Nugent. He is survived by his mother: Kathrine Crouthers of Hardin, sons: Henderson Nugent of California, Walter Ambrose of Silsbee, and Hanson Nugent, III of Silsbee, sisters: Margaret Nugent of Hull and Sandra Ribble of Liberty, four grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Fortune
Esther Lorraine (Frizzell) Fortune, age 76, of Dayton, Texas, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Texas.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Herby Frizzell and the late Johnnie (Sheffield) Frizzell.
Mrs. Fortune is survived by her daughters, Juana Fortune of Highlands, and Brenda Brown and husband Douglas of Tarkington; Two Sisters, Janet Melancon of Louisiana and Nita Walker and husband Jimmy of Dayton; Three Brothers, Delton Frizzell and wife Ruth of California, Coy Frizzell of Hardin, and Gary Frizzell and wife Rita of Dayton. Also six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, 1304 N. Cleveland, Dayton, Texas are handling arrangements.

Quinn
Ellis M. Quinn, Jr. 80, of Liberty died Tuesday, July 16 after a brief illness.
He is survived by his four grandchildren, Amanda, Ryan, Katie, and Emily, one daughter-in-law, Bev; two nieces, Kittie and Linda; one sister-in-law, Scottie and three sons, Pat, Mike and Brian.

A native of Beeville, TX and the son of Mr. Ellis M Quinn, Sr. and Zatella Faupel Quinn, he was born in 1922. After high school, Mr. Quinn attended Schriener Military Institute until his National Guard unit was activated in 1940. A combat veteran in WWII and the Korean War, Mr. Quinn completed his military career as Major. Serving with the 4th infantry Division on D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, he was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in combat. During the Korean War, Mr. Quinn commanded a Korean Artillery Company supporting combat infantry.
Mr. Quinn graduated from the University of Texas in 1949, after marrying Mignette Moody in 1948. Together Ellis and Mignette raised three vibrant sons, pat, Mike and Brian. The Quinns celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998. His beloved Mignette, preceding him in death by one and a half years.
Reaching the level of Vice President of Turnkey Operations for Goldrus Drilling, he led the high-risk turnkey division to great success. He was an established expert in his field often testifying as an exert witness for court cases.
A frequent fan of Liberty sporting events over the years to watch his sons, Mr. Quinn loved the outdoors. He also loved to entertain with his wife Mignette and watch his Longhorns with rabid enthusiasm.

Helen Marie Thibodeaux, 83 of Liberty, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, July 20, 2002 at Allison Funeral Service with Rev. Lamar Shane officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 PM until 9 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thibodeaux was a native of Prichard, Alabama and had lived in Spring, Texas before returning to Liberty. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents James Barney & Ella Victoria Miller Johnson and a brother J. B. Johnson, Sr. She is survived by her husband: Adam Thibodeaux of Liberty, daughter: Glenda Gibson & husband Robert of Lake Jackson; sons: James David Norris & wife Phyllis of Mountain Home, Texas; stepson: Robert Colman of Ivanhoe, MN; nephew: Elmer Ray Johnson & wife Jean of Friendswood; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Douzar
Daisy Douzar, 84, of Dayton, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 in Baytown at Baytown Nursing Facility.
A native of Alexandria, Louisiana she had been a life long resident of Dayton where she was a charter member of the First Assembly of God Church. She was the last living person who had signed the original charter in the late 1930 s.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Douzar, daughter, Pearl Don, son, Sam Ross, and brother, Clarence Jones.
Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 19, 2002 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Pierce officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Douzar is survived by grandsons, Danny Ross and wife Deleesa of Baytown and Michael Ross of Baytown, granddaughter, Susan Griffin of Calhoun. Also great-grandchildren, Joey Griffin, Nicole Oyster and husband James, john Griffin, Dustin Ross, Nick Valdes, and Sara Valdes.

Hugh McCall Meyer, 76, of Dayton died Monday, July 15, 2002 at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Dayton.
A native of Opelika, Alabama, Mr. Meyer had lived in Dayton for many years. Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 18, 2002 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Houston National Veterans Administration Cemetery in Houston.

Dugat
On July 14, 2002, Larry Allan Dugat Sr., a devoted husband, caring daddy, proud papa, and best friend, left our lives for his new life in heaven.
Born on October 17, 1938, in Barbers Hill, to parents; Leslie Dugat and Margaret Cole Dugat, and has resided in the Old River area throughout his life. Larry lived every breath of his life to the fullest as a dedicated Christian family man and devoted husband for 43 years. Proud of his Christian life, he served as a past Deacon and member of the Old River Singers for the Old River Baptist Church, and the past few years attended Mont Belvieu Assembly of God Church. Larry was a graduate of Barbers Hill High School, Class of 1957; attended Lee College and the University of Houston; former Board member for the Barbers Hill I.S.D., a machinist for Exxon of Baytown for 17 years and retired from Enterprise of Mt. Belvieu after 15 years of service, member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge #825 AF & AM, Elections Volunteer and member of the Republican Party, veteran of the US Army with service during Vietnam, and enjoyed working cattle, fishing, gardening, and genealogy. In the midst of all that he accomplished in this life, his proudest accomplishment was the family that he raised.
Larry was preceded in death by his father: Leslie Dugat, and one son: Jimmy E. Dugat.

Wayne William 'Billy' Wertz, Jr., 29 of New Caney, Texas died on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 13, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Allison Funeral Service. Interment will follow in Cooke Cemetery in Liberty, Texas.
Billy was born on January 23, 1973 in Ocala, Florida. He had lived in the New Caney area since 1998. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and art.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Joey Wertz.

Nina Cochran, 78, of Dayton, died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
She was a native of Bancroft, Louisiana, lived in Cleveland for 2 years, had previously lived in Merryville, Louisiana for 23 years, was a member of the Hi-way Tabernacle Assembly of God Church and was a retired waitress.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at the Pace-Stancil funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with the Rev. Oscar Snider officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakshade Cemetery in Cleveland under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Ana Bell Taylor Parker, 85, died at her home on July 8, 2002.

Anna Bell was preceded in death by her parents, Miteal and Hubert Taylor Sr. Her aunt that raised her, Alice Holts, and her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband Howard: daughter Carolyn Chenault and husband Davie all of Liberty: son, Daryl Parker and wife Marsha of Dayton. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great grand children, nieces and special friends. Serving as pallbearers are family members: Donnie, Danny, Joshua, Jeremy Burk, Jimmy Parker, Robert Stevenson, Paul Lirette, Davie Chennault and special family friend Dr. Ricky Myers.
Anna Bell was raised in Beaumont and graduated form South Park High School. In 1996 she moved to Liberty after having lived in Baytown for many years. She spent her adult life making a home for her husband of 64 years and her children. Some of her great pleasures were hunting, fishing, and entertaining guests in her home.

Frances Elaine Pebbles, 83, of Liberty died Saturday July 6, 2002 at her residence.

Mrs. Peebles was born in Shelby County, Texas on December 10, 1918 to Parents Richard H. & Mary Frances "Fanny" Beck Blackstock. She attended Center High School & received her degree from College of Marshall (now East Texas Baptist University). She taught school in Midway, Texas before starting her family. She moved to Liberty from Livingston in 1958. Mrs. Peebles was a member o the United Methodist Women, Lifetime member of the Coterie Club & the Faith Sunday School Class. She enjoyed playing bridge & making ceramics, especially nativity sets. She was also an artist & enjoyed traveling, making trips to Europe, the Holy Land & the Bahamas.
Mrs. Peebles was preceded in death by her parents, Her husband: M. A. "Tony" Pebbles & son: David A. Peebles, three brothers & three sisters.

Mervin Sanford, 74, of Dayton, died Saturday, July 6, 2002 at the Citizens Hospital in Victoria.
A native of Huntsville he was previously of Crosby and had resided in Dayton for the past 18 years. He was retired from Houston Natural Gas and Pipeline serving 38 years and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 8, 2002 at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel in Dayton with the Rev. Wayne Hardin officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4:30 PM at the Anahuac Cemetery in Anahuac.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years: Edith Sanford of Dayton; Daughters: Jo Carroll Filley and her husband Mike of Austin and Linda Hankins and her husband Bud of Victoria; Son: Robert Willis and his wife Debbie of Dayton; Sister: Ola Martin of Austin and 3 Grandchildren.
