LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Joe "Doll" Banks, 80, of Livingston were held Friday, March 9, 2003, from Providence No. 1 Baptist Church in Leggett, the Rev. Ronnie Coleman pastor, with the Rev. L.V. Branch officiating. Interment followed in New Wensley Cemetery in Leggett.
Mr. Banks died May 4 in Houston.
He was born March 14, 1923 in Leggett, the son of the late Wiley Banks and Jennie Bailey Banks. He attended Leggett schools, was self-employed and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen L. Jackson of Leggett, Sharon Johnson of Houston and Toni Banks of Houston; brother, Willie Banks of Houston; six grandchildren, LaRonda Banks, Taneika Jackson, Joseph Richards and Haramel Johnson, all of Houston, Tommy Jackson Jr. of Ranger and Floyd Jackson of Livingston and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were Dennis Dunham, Milton Benton, Wayne Franklin, Jerome Jessie, Reginald Banks and Tommy Jackson Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Jim Jessie, Earl Jessie, Sam Davis, Alvin Taylor, Ellis Taylor, Porter Joyce and W.T. Hill.

HUNTSVILLE - Charles Anthony Wilson, 55, was born on April 1, 1948 and died on May 8, 2003.

LIVINGSTON - Kimberly Dawn Johnson McDowell, 36, died early Tuesday morning, May 13, 2002, at her residence in Livingston.
She was born July 6, 1966 to Richard and Patricia Cramer Johnson in Bartlesville, Okla. She grew up and received her education in Bartlesville until 1982. She moved with her family to Livingston and graduated in Livingston in 1984. She married Thomas McDowell in October 1983. They made their home in Las Vegas, Nev. until they divorced. She returned to Livingston in 1996 and met and established a home with Luther "Bubba" Thompson. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Harvey Johnson and Leonora Johnson.
Survivors include a son, Dustin Tyler McDowell; daughter, Zoe Marissa McDowell; her mother and stepfather, Don and Pat Cox of Livingston; father and stepmother, Richard and Sandy Johnson of Hurricane, Utah; husband, Bubba Thompson Jr. of Livingston; sister, Lisa Johnson of Livingston; stepsisters, Nancy Gardner of Victoria and Abby and Brittany Cox of Livingston; stepbrother, Jerry Cox of Midland; grandparents, Jim and Darlene Cramer of Nowata, Okla.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luther and Myrtle Thompson of Livingston and many other family members and friends.
Services were held Thursday, May 15, at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial was on Saturday, May 17, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, Okla.

Mrs. Hopson died Monday, May 12, in Livingston.
She was born April 10, 1935 in Livingston, the daughter of Williams Bryant Platt and Minnie Lee Poor Platt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carol Dean Hopson; her parents; daughter, Betty Carol LeGeare; six brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Barney Stephenson of Wells; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Alicia Hopson of Evergreen; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Steve Lee of Trinity; daughters, Brenda Lewis and Sharon Lewis, both of Livingston; grandchildren, Lynn, Tommy, Ginny, Angela, Elizabeth, Lloyd, April, John, Richard, Kevin, David and Amanda; seven great-grandchildren and brothers, Morriss Platt Sr., Curtis Platt and Floyd Stowe, all of Livingston.

LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Trevor Vinning Pinder Jr., 55, of New Waverly were held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Durham officiating. Burial followed in Baker Bell Cemetery in Fred.
Mr. Pinder died Sunday, May 11, in Kerens.
He was born March 27, 1948 in Kountze, the son of Trevor Vinning Pinder Sr. and Alma Jewel Freeman Pinder, both of whom preceded him in death.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and David Hyatt of Montgomery; son and daughter-in-law, Trevor Vinning and Mindy Pinder IV of New Waverly; daughter, Tobie Pinder of Conroe; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Craig Kefauver of Houston and Margaret and Phil Blanchette of Kankee, Ill.; and grandchildren, Dylan Hyatt, Taylor Hyatt, Trevor V. Sybil M. Bailey
LIVINGSTON - Sybil M. Bailey, 80, of Onalaska died on Thursday, May 1, 2003, in Livingston. A memorial service will be held.
Mrs. Bailey was born on May 11, 1922 in Logansport, La. to parents Gifford and Johnnie Edith Foshee Smith. She married Jack W. Bailey on May 31, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1976. Mrs. Bailey was a retired bookkeeper, a Methodist and had been a Polk County resident since 1976, moving from Houston.
She is survived by her children, Michael Bailey of Onalaska, Terry M. Salmasi and husband Dennis of Onalaska and Kathleen D. Brumley and husband Ray of Onalaska; sister, Edith Farris of San Antonio; grandchildren, Dena Kerschen, Kenneth Wayne Hammond, Skyler Salmasi, Cody Salmasi, Noah Brumley, Legion Brumley, Ariel Brumley, Chance Brumley and Jada Brumley; great-grandchildren, James Michael Harmon, Denee' Wilson, Raphsodi Martin, Bailey Moffett, Mia Brumley and Atticus Brumley and great-great-grandchildren, Tory D. Billy Ray Fesperman
LIVINGSTON - Funeral services for Billy Ray Fesperman, 67, were held Tuesday, May 6, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Hood officiating. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Fesperman died Friday, May 2, at his residence in Livingston.
He was born Oct. 15, 1935 in Lott, the son of John Oliver Fesperman and Maggie Lena Fesperman, both of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Lott High School in 1954. He and Angela Rowe were married on Nov. 20, 2000 in Livingston. Mr. Fesperman built churches and school furniture, was an auto mechanic, did offset photography, was with the Marlin Police Department and was a correctional officer for TDCJ.
Pallbearers were Butch Price, John Riks, Ken Bohnert, Bobby Watson, Charles Smith and Leon Middleton.

LIVINGSTON - A memorial service for Lois Virginia Fischer, 80, were held Friday, May 2, 2003, from the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Clyde Summers officiating.
Mrs. Fischer died Wednesday, April 30, in Memorial Medical Center - Livingston.
She was born Dec. 21, 1922 in Rockmart, Ga., the daughter of William and Bertha Fields Christopher. Mrs. Fischer served as a U.S. Army nurse during World War II. She was preceded in death by her husband James and her parents.

Mr. Hunter died April 27 in Livingston.
He was born Oct. 20, 1931, the son of Wilson and Gasoline Coleman Hunter. He was a Methodist.

LIVINGSTON - Graveside services for Willidene Culley, 63, were held Saturday, May 3, 2003, from Peebles Cemetery, with the Rev. James R. Holt officiating.
Mrs. Culley died Tuesday, April 29, in OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
She was born March 26, 1940 in Wetumpka, Ala., the daughter of Earl and Lucy Macon Warmack. She was a member of Pickens Baptist Church in McMillan, Okla., and a devoted mother and wife and church member. She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Harvey Warmack; mother, Lucy Macon Warmack Jones; and father who raised her, Hollis Jones.

LIVINGSTON - Manuel Patrick Barrientez, 53, of Livingston died Thursday, May 1, 2003, in The Woodlands.
Services were held Wednesday, May 7, at Pace Funeral Home. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston followed by a reception at the Idlewilde Subdivision Clubhouse in Onalaska.
Mr. Barrientez was born on July 6, 1950 in Sweeney to parents Frank and Ignacia Gutierrez Barrientez Sr. He was retired and had been a Livingston resident since January 2002, moving from Shepherd. He was known as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a versatile man who enjoyed bowling, coaching softball, playing billiards, playing with his grandchildren and dancing.
He is survived by his wife, Dee of Livingston; son, Manuel Barrientez Jr. of Shepherd; daughters, Lisa Barrientez of New Caney and Christina Davis of Baltimore, Md.; brothers, Henry, Ruben, Richard, Alfonso, Frank, Joe Alex, Raymond and Lupe Barrientez; sisters, Annice Mendevil, Rosa Salinas and Lucia Zertuche and grandchildren, Morgan Mariah Barrientez and Jordan Pierce Barrientez.

Mrs. Roberts died Thursday, May 1, at her residence in Livingston.
She was born Dec. 7, 1935 in Hemphill. She was a homemaker and had resided in Livingston since 1991.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Roberts of Livingston; daughter, Carla Hiesler and husband Gordon of Houston; sister, Agnes West of Shepherd; nephew, Charlie Wilson and nieces, Christina, Stephena and Angela, whom she raised as grandchildren; and numerous other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

James Rodney McDonald
LIVINGSTON - James Rodney McDonald, 50, died on Friday, May 2, 2003, at his residence in Conroe.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1952 in Houston, the son of James "Buck" McDonald and Jo Allie Metts McDonald, both of whom preceded him in death. Mr. McDonald served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Sweeten and Gail King of Conroe; three brothers, Michael McDonald of Conroe, John McDonald of Palestine and George McDonald of Cornville, Ariz. and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
Graveside services were held Sunday, May 4, from New Bethlehem Cemetery in Conroe. Pallbearers were Kevin Lyle, Marshall Neal, Chris Cameron, Mark Taylor, Shanon Jones and Tim Guidash. Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Pagiert, Bill Hanft and Jeffery Buzek.

Justice Lynn died Thursday, May 1, in Cooks Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth.
She was born Feb. 26, 2001 in Livingston, the daughter of Ethan and Stephanie Corbeil Wright. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jennifer Lynn Wright; great-grandfathers, Maurice Wright, Hershel Burrow and Herman Corbeil and great-grandmother, Fern Corbeil.

She was born Dec. 8, 1914 in Creek, the daughter of John B. Hester Sr. and Naomi Earle Adams Hester. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. "Pete" and her parents.

Mrs. Munson died Monday, May 5, in Livingston.
She was born March 9, 1933 in Troup, the daughter of Nathaniel and Esther Womack Seagroves. She was known as someone who loved her family, country music, playing Bingo, helping others and making sure that everyone was happy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Munson; her parents; son, Darrell Glen Munson; brothers, Elbridge Seagroves, Leon Seagroves and Roy Seagroves Sr. and sisters, Bernice Franklin and Joyce Moore.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Robert Baker of Livingston; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Mary Munson, Mike and Patricia Munson and Gerald and Teresa Munson, all of Livingston; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.

Mr. Van Lynn died March 25, 2003 in Livingston.
He was born Nov. 28, 1917 in Queens, N.Y., the son of Vincent and Agnes Bittner Herth. His parents preceded him in death.

LIVINGSTON - Kenneth Eugene Haynes Jr., 45, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at his residence in Onalaska.

He was born Nov. 18, 1957 in Sulphur, La., the son of Kenneth Eugene Haynes Sr. and Eva Lou Nemitz Haynes Sr., both of whom preceded him in death. He married Jona Haynes on Nov. 17, 1988 in Livingston. He loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

Ralph "Eddie" Nichols
LIVINGSTON - Ralph Edward "Eddie" Nichols, 51, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at his residence in Livingston.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 8, from Church on The Rock in Livingston, with Pastor Jim Sherrill officiating. Burial followed in Peebles Cemetery. Military honors were provided by VFW Post 8568.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1951 in Panama City, Fla., the son of Ralph and Lucille Sweeney Nichols. He married Kathleen Nichols on June 30, 1972. He was a member of Church on The Rock in Livingston, former member of the Goodrich School Board and DAV lifetime member. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam era and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service. He was discharged on Sept. 30, 1971.
Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Nichols of Livingston; mother, Lucille Sweeney Bounds of Livingston; stepfather, Murphy Bounds of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and C.W.
