Annette Farmer Simons

Funeral services for Annette Simons, 48 of Lexington, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Lexington Faith Temple in Lexington with Pastor Rhonda Whited officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Lexington.
Annette passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at her home in Lexington following a courageous battle with cancer.
Annette Farmer Simons was born on March 4, 1963 in Giddings, Texas to Ben & Wanda (Fulbright) Farmer. She attended school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1981. Annette married Arthur Simons on July 10, 1988 in Lexington. She led an active life and mastered everything she did. She worked as a babysitter, in customer service and as a home health care aid. She also served as a volunteer with Hospice Brazos Valley. Church was a very important part of Annette's life and she was an active member of Lexington Faith Temple where she held many positions including past principal of the day school, Sunday School Teacher and Ladies Leader. She was always a caregiver and thoughtful of others. Annette loved being "Neeno" to her grandkids and enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur Simons of Lexington; three children, Opal & Chris Hall of Lexington, Amanda & Thomas Williams of Teague and Annie & Jason Dick of Missouri; five grandchildren, Gabriel, Lukas and Sarah Hall of Lexington and Trip and Lydia Williams of Teague; her parents, Wanda Mack of Minnesota and Ben & Vicky Farmer of Corsicana; sisters and brothers, Donna Farmer of Lexington, D'Anna & Mark Hastings of Iowa, Sam & Andria Mack of Minnesota, Larry & Brenda Farmer of Bastrop and George Mack of Minnesota as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Farmer Jr., Randal Martin, Jimmy Stamport, David Wade, Larry Landreth and Sam Dalen.

Edwin "Ed" Julius Lerche
(April 22, 1922 - August 27, 2011)
Funeral services for Edwin "Ed" Lerche, 89 of Lexington, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington with Rev. Leif Hasskarl officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 7:00 a.m.until 8:30 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Lerche family will be present for visitation Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mr. Lerche passed away the morning of Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Edwin Julius Lerche was born on April 22, 1922 in Fedor, Texas to Julius & Ernestine (Kaiser) Lerche. He was baptized on May 7, 1922 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor by Rev. W.M. Seidel. He attended school at Trinity Lutheran in Fedor and was confirmed there on April 8, 1936 by Rev. Michalk. Ed was united in marriage to Ruby Exner on February 9, 1944 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas by Rev. R. Osthoff. He formed Lerche Construction in Austin in the early 1960's. Later he moved his family to Elgin, Texas where he built Lerche & Sons Rodeo Co. and Arena. He retired in 1990 and moved to Lexington, Texas. Following Ruby's death in 1993, Ed married Della Biehle of Houston on August 1, 1997 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington with Rev. Wayne Schumpe officiating. He continued with his passion of ranching and agriculture until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby; three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his wife Della Lerche of Lexington; children, Carol & husband, Don Hurst of Paige, Lois & husband, Dennis Turner of Elgin, Marcus & wife, Lavonna Lerche of Lexington, Ray & wife, Kim Lerche of Paige and Sharon & husband, Jerald Meuth of Lexington; grandchildren, Matt & wife, Andrea Hurst of Paige, Amy & husband, Stephen Turner of Webberville, Dale Ray Lerche of Lexington, Jaclyn Turner of Elgin, Ty and Lane Lerche of Paige and Logan, W.E. and Tanner Meuth of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kate Hurst of Elgin, Chase and Kynley Hurst of Paige, Avery, Peyton and Brylie Turner of Webberville and Alli Berry of Elgin; his step children, Dale and husband, William Kimmey of College Station and Jennifer and husband, Brian Pletcher of Huffmann; step grandchildren, Andrea and husband, Eric Barton of Baytown and Gregory and wife, Gina Pletcher of Huffman; step great grandchildren, Ryan and Cade Barton of Baytown as well as many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Morris Simank, Larry Lerche, Mike Gruetzner, Charlie Seggren, Bob Long and Rodney Exner. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Lerche's grandsons, Matt Hurst, Dale Ray Lerche, Ty Lerche, Lane Lerche, Logan Meuth, W.E. Meuth and Tanner Meuth.
