Thomas Hugh Rothermel of Brenham died on March 28, 2013, at the age of 88 years.
Funeral services for Thomas Rothermel are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 1 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine. Burial will follow at the Carmine Cemetery in Carmine. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31 at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Noak Rothermel of Brenham, daughters: Connie Sue Rothermel Bird and husband, Marshall of Splendora, Pamela Ann Rothermel Guthrie and husband, James of Pasadena. Granddaughters: Rachel Diana Bird Poffinbarger and husband, James, of Splendora, Johanna Ruth Bird of Houston, and Moriah Ashlee Guthrie of Pasadena. Great-granddaughters: Camille, Corinne, and Cristin Poffinbarger of Splendora. Also; brother, James D. Rothermel and his wife, Dorothy Ann Hodde Rothermel of Brenham, sisters; Nathalie Rothermel Landua, Annie Laurie Rothermel Thaler and husband, Raymond of Brenham and sister-in-law, Joan Smick Rothermel of Brenham. Nephews: James D. Rothermel, Jr.and his wife, Cindy of Alvin, Donald H. Rothermel and his wife, Debbie of Katy, Michael D. Rothermel and Cheryl Kimbo of San Jose, Calif., Charles E. Landua of Burton, & Raymond C. Thaler, Jr. and his wife, Linda of Brenham. Willie Mae Schramme Jensen, 87 of Washington passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at Scott and White Hospital, Brenham. Born April 1, 1925 in Prairie Hill to Willie and Emma Schulz Schramme, she attended the Prairie Hill schools and worked for Weingarten’s Grocery in Houston until she moved back to Prairie Hill. Upon returning from the war, she was married by Rev. P. Gogolin at St. John Lutheran of Prairie Hill December 15, 1946 to her life partner Bennie O. Jensen, who preceded her in death September 9, 2012. Their life scripture for their wedding was Ruth 1:16. She was baptized at St. John and confirmed at St. John April 2, 1939 by Rev. P. Gogolin.
Willie Mae was well known for her kind spirit, willingness to help whenever she could and tended to many cuts, scrapes and other injuries over her lifetime. She cherished her dogs and her birds, as well as her family, taking time to always be sure she kept up with who was doing what and where they were and worried for them if it need be. She was an avid gardener.
She was a member of Friedens Church of Washington, serving on the memorial committee in 1972 when the church burned and selected the furnishings in the church that were placed by memorials. She was always proud of having served the church during the rebuilding years. She was a member of the Women’s Fellowship, Washington Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, American Legion, and the Washington County Farm Bureau. She also worked in the Jensen Café many nights.
Survivors include: children, Billy and Donna Jensen, Linda Jensen Oberhoff, Mark and Carol Jensen and Robert O. Jensen; grandchildren, Jon and Lindsey Jensen, Larry Ray Jensen, Thresia and Keith Schlabach, Jared and Brooke Jensen, Zachary and LeAnn Jensen, Todd Jensen; 10 great-grandchildren, Emily Jensen, Haylie English, Hunter and Mitchell Schlabach, Brody, Sawyer Grace, Paige and Madison Jensen, Jaxon and McKenzie Wendt; sister-in-law, Olga Jensen Holle.
Preceded in death by: parents, husband, daughter-in-law Suzette Schroeder Jensen, son-in-law Bobbie Lyn Oberhoff, sister Ida Kutzer Nuernberger, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law W. C. Holle, Henry Jr., Ervin, W.A. (Bill), Lawrence, Anna, Minnie and Melvin Jensen, Ernst Kutzer and Ernst Nuernberger.
Visitation will be at Brenham Memorial Chapel Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Friedens Church of Washington with Pastor Greg Felder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jon, Larry, Jared, Zachary and Todd Jensen and Keith Schlabach.

Cynthia Jane Boehnemann, wife of Leslie Boehnemann, Jr., died March 23, 2013 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine, with Pastor Rich Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Survivors include her husband, Leslie Boehnemann, Jr. of Burton; daughters Robin Boehnemann of Atlanta, Georgia, and daughter and son-in-law Nikki and Tim Woods of Burton, and granddaughter, Shayle Woods. Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law Roy and Linda Boehnemann, and Ronnie and Tracie Boehnemann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and mother-in-law and father-in-law.

Rodney Lynn Faist, 51, of Burton, died March 21, 2013 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Foehner Funeral Home.
Survivors include his father, Bennie E. Faist, Jr.; sister, Rhonda Maass and fiancée David Lichti, all of Burton; nieces Stephanie Maass Schulze and husband Cody of Burton, and Melissa Maass Bilski and husband Justin of Brenham, and a nephew, Colton Maass of Burton; great-niece, Hadley Marie Schulze and a great nephew, Layne Ryan Bilski, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Last but not least, he is also survived by his beloved dog, Shirley. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Faist; grandparents Bennie and Frieda Faist and Hubert and Ida Stiewert.

Wilbert Horstmann of Brenham, known to many as Horse or Uncle Wilbert, was called home to be with our Lord on March 19, 2013. Wilbert returned to Brenham and attended Blinn College where he helped organize Blinn’s first baseball team and served as team captain. He graduated from Blinn College and was a lifetime member of the Ex-Student Association. While at Blinn, Wilbert met and married Hazel Wagner of Shelby, Texas.
Wilbert is preceded in death by his first wife Hazel Wagner Horstmann, his father and mother William and Johanna Horstmann, his son-in-law Michael Myers and all eleven of his siblings. Wilbert is survived by his wife Hilda Schroeder Horstmann, son and daughter-in- law Gary and Nancy Horstmann of Rosenberg, and their children Tara Horstmann Faith, her husband Jay and children Wade and Koleton of Fulshear, and Jennifer Horstmann McCorkle, her husband Joe, and daughter Kenlee of Katy, son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Barbara Horstmann of Taylor, daughter Susan Myers of Pearland, step-sons and step-daughters-in-law Tyrus and Sharon Schroeder and their children Micheal, Daniel, and Kirsten of New Braunfels, Alan and Leslie Schroeder and son Zachery of Pearland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara Cosgrove Roesler, 91 of Brenham, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Brenham Rest Home.

Fred Price, age 72 of Brenham, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center.
