Irma Webernick, died March 16, 2012 in Brenham, Texas, at the age of 100.

Garrett Lockley of Leander, TX, Madeline Baxter of San Marcos, TX, Brooke Wilton of Austin, TX and Dr. Jeff Wilton and wife Ann of Madison, WI, Jason Hueske and wife Julie, Jamie Hueske McCain and husband Chris, all of Brenham, TX. Great-grand nieces and nephews Ryan Jurries, Autumn Lockley, Scott Wilton, Patricia Wilton, Claire Hueske, Addison McCain, Braden McCain and Kade McCain.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor David Hanson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Mrs. Gladys Mattie Broz, 81, of Bleiblerville, passed away, Friday, January 9th, 2009 in, La Grange, TX.
Gladys was born in Nelsonville, Texas on June 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank and Albina (Sisa) Macat. She grew up in Bleiblerville where she attended the Santa Anna School. She married Frank Joe Broz. September 26, 1946 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Bellville, TX. They lived in the same farmhouse that her husband had been born in. She worked beside her husband on the farm. In later years she worked at Lindemann's Store in Industry. Gladys was a great cook and baker, her kolaches were the best. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren which she took fishing often. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; brother, Ernest, Jesse, Alvin (Cotton), and Otis; twin grandchildren, Kelly and Kyle Krueger.
She was a member of the St. Ann Altar Society and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Industry, TX.
Gladys is survived by three daughters, Carol Schroeder wife of Larry of Bleiblerville, TX; Janie Krueger wife of Roger of Bellville, TX; Sharon (Bebe) Wunderlich wife of Roger of Fayetteville, TX; three sisters, Vlasta Syptak of Bleibleville, TX;, Sadie Siptak of Nelsonville, TX;, Grace Kasparek of Bellville. Grandchildren; Sherry Schroeder Siemsglusz, Shannon Schroeder Froebel, Kevin Wunderlich, and Ryan Krueger; Grandchildren by marriage Brian Siemsglusz, Todd Froebel, and Kandis Sobieski Krueger; Great Grandchildren Jordan and Bailey Siemsglusz, Logan and Kyler Froebel, Kash Kreuger; and many other friends and relatives.
Charles Graham Lacy, 63, of Brenham, passed away March 14, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Glenn Gaines officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Lacy; mother, June Lacy of Garland, daughter and son-in-law Diana Dawn and Charles Edward Terry of Euless; grandson, Dillon Graham Terry; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Margaret Hickson; brothers and sisters-in-law James and Cathy Lacy of Arlington, and Robert and Pam Lacy of Arlington; sister, Joyce Spencer of Garland; special daughters Kim Milder of Richmond, Brenda Duckworth of Happy, Tx. and Annette Taylor of Plano, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. His father, Seth Lacy, and a granddaughter, Lacy Kaye Terry, preceded him in death. Per Charles’ request, memorials may be directed to a special fund at Brenham National Bank, 2211 S. Day St., Brenham, Tx. 77833, for Mr. Lacy’s grandson, Dillon Terry, for continuous rehabilitation for a traumatic brain injury. Checks may be made out to Dillon Terry Fund.

Katie Henrietta Steen Effenberger (87) of Brenham, Texas celebrated her Heavenly homecoming on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at home in Brenham, Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Franklin C. Effenberger of Brenham, Texas ; Brothers and sister in-laws: Donald and Barbara Effenberger of Sequin, Tx., Harold Meyer of Graham. TX, Marcie and Don Russell of San Antonio, TX, Shirlene Steen of Arlington, Tx, Her nephew's family that has provided care: Nathan and Julie Steen and their children, Kimberly, Ryan and Jillian of Brenham, Tx., and many other nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and many great-nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many friends including Darlene Bloudeau of Brenham, Tx, Roger and Candy Huebner of Burton, TX and the many members at Greenvine Baptist Church and AMA Heath-care providers, especially Joyce Pribilski.
Funeral Services for Katie will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 10:00am at Greenvine Baptist Church located at 5010 FM 2502, Burton, Texas. Interment will be at the Greenvine Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 15 from 6:00-8:00 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham, Texas.

Isabella Sommerlatte, 91, widow of John Sommerlatte, Sr., passed away March 7, 2013 in Industry, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Welcome Lutheran Church, with Pastor Michael Groesclose officiating. Interment will follow in the Industry Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday from 4 until 6 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Survivors include a son, John Sommerlatte; daughters and sons-in-law Pauline and James Zwernemann, and Frances and Delphine Merkel; grandchildren: Scott and Crystal Zwernemann, Lisa and Randy Dobias, Delta and Richard Kolajajak, Deanna and Stephen Scheffer, and Matthew Sommerlatte; great-grandchildren: Mallory Dobias, Jordyn Zwernemann, Addison Dobias, Trevor Zwernemann, Kayree Kolajajak, Sterling Scheffer, and Korbin Kolajajak; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin Henry and Verna Jean Coufal, and sister-in-law, Earline Coufal, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Sommerlatte, Sr., a brother, Lester Coufal, sister and brother-in-law, Johnny and Madeline Movan, and daughter-in-law, Jane Sommerlatte.

Diane Hodde passed away in her home on February 28, 2013, following a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. She lived a long life defined by devotion to her family and friends, her pets, and Washington County.
Diane is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Erin Panzer, her parents, Marvin and Doris Vineyard Hodde, brother David Hodde, and grandparents Dr. Fred Hodde and wife Anna Louise and Dr. Roy Vineyard and wife Vesta Cooper.
Visitation will take place on Thursday March 7th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A celebration of Diane's life will be held at 11:00 am the following morning at Memorial Oaks Chapel at 1306 West Main St., Brenham, Texas. Internment will be at Prairie Lea Cemetery immediately after the service. Dylan Cole, Patrick Col, Travis Cole, Renee Escobar, Michael Kalil and Dr. Michael Mabry will serve as pallbearers.

Virginia Wehrung, 97, of Brenham, died March 3, 2013, at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham with Rev. Brent Hampton and Rev. Jim McCloud officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, George IV and Julia Wehrung of Chappell Hill; grandchildren, George Wehrung V of North Carolina and Ann Marie Brown of Ontario, Canada; great-grandchildren, George W. Wehrung VI, Hailey Jensen, Nicholas Wehrung and Sydney Wehrung; and brother, Turner Findley Hamner of Chappell Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, Sam Richard Hamner and Joe Edward Hamner; and sister, Mahlah Hamner Allen.

Bonnie Jewel Perry 81, widow of Melvin R. Perry of Brenham died February 28, 2013. She was born October 9, 1931 in Waller, Texas to Carl and Minnie Mize. She attended Waller High School and was a graduate of Blinn College. On May 19, 1951, Bonnie married Melvin Ray Perry in Waller, Texas. Her love of little children and their parents led her to care for over three hundred Brenham children for a span of forty four years as a day care provider. Bonnie loved to cook and did so for friends, neighbors, family, churches, and organizations.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 52 years, Melvin R. Perry, parents, Minnie and Carl Mize, brother, Carl Allen Mize, brother in law and sister in law, Arnold and Kathryn Perry, and son in law, David Dealing.
Bonnie is survived by daughter, Vickie Johnson and husband Wallace of Wimberley; son, Aubrey Perry and wife Sandra of Brenham; grandchildren, Chris Dealing of Houston, Kyle Dealing of San Marcos, Amber Perry of College Station and Justin Perry of Brenham, and brother in law Donald Perry of Austin and sister in law Jean Kupilian of Louisiana.
A memorial service will be held at First Methodist Church of Brenham on March 9, 2013 at 11am with a luncheon immediately following at the Fellowship Hall.

Mitzi Suzett King was born Dec. 2, 1970 to parents Everitt J. and Bonnie King. She died in Brenham on Feb. 28, 2013.
Mitzi is survived by her mother, Bonnie King of College station; brother, Terry (Jenny) King and nephew Jake and niece Sophie King of Austin. She is also survived by her devoted guardian, Linda Thomas of Brenham. Her extended loving family includes the Perry and Betty Thomas family; Floya Ann and Harvey Merten family; LaVern Reuter family, and special friend, Vera Lynn Schoppe. She was preceded in death by her father and her beloved “Nanny” and “Pappo”, Marie and Buddy Thomas.
Funeral services for Mitzi King are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Salem Lutheran, with Pastor Charles Parnell and Toby Burk officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
