Elliot Thomas Krolczyk, Jr.
February 2, 1984 - March 3, 2020
Thomas Krolczyk, 36, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2020, at Kingwood Medical Center.
Thomas was born on February 2, 1984, in Houston, to parents Elliot Sr. and Loretta (Kenney) Krolczyk. Thomas and his siblings grew up around Houston and Katy. As a child, he played baseball and enjoyed playing outside with his sister. While in high school, Thomas met future wife Kathy Ann Trevino. He also got to know a group of friends that he remained close with to this day. They still enjoyed getting together and talking about the old days.
Thomas worked as a plumber, and more recently was self-employed. He was very handy and hand-made many projects such as his flags and tables for family and friends. He seemed to be able to fix anything. In his spare time, when he wasn’t deer hunting or out finding his new favorite fishing spot, he was in the garage tinkering on his pick-up and singing along with the radio. He was a longtime fan of rap and country music, but recently he had taken a strong interest in bluegrass and was a huge fan of Tyler Childers. His family and friends often complained about hearing the same five songs over and over.
As a child Thomas was very close to his grandfather, Henry, who gave him the nickname “TomKat”. Thomas had an uncanny talent for impressions, and would often mimic Grandpa’s unique expressions such as “Got ‘don mighty!”. Thomas was a jokester and could always be counted on to be silly and lighten the mood. He was full of hilarious quips and jokes. He would tease his children and niece and nephews to make them laugh, calling them “Bro” or telling them they were being “a real character”.
Thomas’ family was the most important thing in his life. He was very involved raising his children, he never missed a soccer or baseball game. He was a huge Astros fan and enjoyed taking the whole family to games in Houston. He attended all of the Krolczyk family reunions and stayed in touch with his extended family.
Being the middle child, Thomas had learned early in life to be a peacemaker. He had a gift for bringing people together and putting them at ease, even in a tense or uncomfortable situation. Thomas’ good natured personality and good sense of humor won him many friends. He was the type of person who never met a stranger. Thomas was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Thomas is survived by his wife Kathy; their children Alyssa, Benjamin, and Caroline; his parents Elliot Sr. and Loretta; siblings Crystal (husband Rene) and Jacob; niece and nephews Carmen, Alex, and Wesley; aunts and uncles Chris and Francis, Joe and Kelly, Rick and Susan, Victor and Margie, Anthony and Cybil, Aunt April, Uncle Timothy; his Grandpa Jack; numerous cousins and extended family members, and furry family members Tiki and Rex.
Thomas is preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Jennie Krolczyk, Shirley Foretich (husband Bob), and Judy Kenney.
Serving as pallbearers are Thomas’ friends and family, Paul, Rigo, Jacob, Rick, Adam, Rene, Joe, Stephen and Reed.
Please join the family for visitation at Brenham Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 12, 2020, starting at 5:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. the rosary will be recited, followed by a time to share memories of Thomas and celebrate his life.
On Friday, March 13, 2020, at 10:00 a.m., funeral mass will be held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, Texas, with Father Jozef Musiol, SDS, JCD, as celebrant. Following the mass, Thomas will be laid to rest in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
