Clement (Clem) Krolczyk
July 22, 1929 - October 19, 2008
Clement “Clem” Krolczyk, 79 of Chappell Hill, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008 at his home surrounded by family.
Clem was born July 22, 1929 in Chappell Hill to Michael and Agnes (Strenk) Krolczyk. He was baptized July 24, 1929 and confirmed in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, where he remained a life-long member. He attended Chappell Hill schools. On November 26, 1955 he was married to Germania “Janie” Flisowski in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church by Rev. John Wesolek. Clem was a rancher and also had worked at the cotton gin in Chappell Hill. He enjoyed playing Pitch, fishing and took pride in working his crossbred cattle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, one brother, three brothers-in-law and one nephew.
Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Janie Krolczyk; children, Ernest Krolczyk of Chappell Hill, Betty Krolczyk of Chappell Hill, Johnnie Ray Krolczyk, Sr. and wife Linda of Brenham, Lillian Jankowiak and husband Ronnie of Chappell Hill, Sally Grohmann and husband Kenneth of Cypress, and Lucy Lorenz and husband Billy of Washington; grandchildren, Crystal Duran and husband Luis, Christopher Faterkowski, Johnnie Ray “Bubba” Krolczyk, Jr., Bridgette Snow and fiancé Kevin Schulz, Ronald Paul Jankowiak, Amber Jankowiak, Hunter Krolczyk, Madalyn Krueger, Rena Frank, Corey Lorenz, Kayla Grohmann; five step great-grandchildren; sisters, Hattie Boratynski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Pauline Thomas and husband Lee of Spring, Nancy Kalstad of Austin; brothers, Paul Krolczyk and Edmond Krolczyk both of Chappell Hill.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 23, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Chappell Hill with Rev. Vincent Chacko as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Robert Stark, Delbert “Bubba” Stark, Jr., Christopher Faterkowski, Johnnie Ray “Bubba” Krolczyk, Jr., Ronald Paul Jankowiak, Hunter Krolczyk, Kenneth Grohmann and Stan Petty. Honorary pallbearers are Julian Bednarek, Johnnie V. Flisowski and Billy Lorenz.
Memorials are suggested to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Bonnelle Heine Landua
Born in Rehburg community, Washington County, TX on Apr. 23, 1914

After a short battle with leukemia, Bonnelle Heine Landua, 89, of Brenham, died Jan. 24, 2004, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham.
Mrs. Landua was born April 23, 1914, in the Rehburg community of Washington County, Texas, to F.H. and Dorothea Neinast Heine.
On Sept. 20, 1942, she was married to Alfred Charles Landua in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg by Rev. Paul Czerkus.
Mrs. Landua was employed for many years at Miller Pharmacy in Brenham. She later joined her husband in his business, Landua Appliance Service, and worked as secretary and bookkeeper until his death in 1993.
Mrs. Landua was active at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rehburg before moving to Brenham. She then joined St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. She served for many years on the Cradle Roll, as a Circle Sister and a member of the choir.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, F.H. and Dora Heine; her husband of 51 years, Alfred C. Landua; five brothers; and four sisters.
She is survived by her son, Ken A. Landua; daughter-in-law, Rosie Landua; and grandson, Kyle A. Landua, all of Katy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ron Kennedy, Bill Thaler, Ray Thaler, Robert “Bob” Whitener, Jerry Ray Roehling, Joe Neinast and Russell Neinast.
Honorary pallbearers will be A.C. and Lucille Miller, Deloris Burham, Alice Kolwes, Lorene Sohns, Marie Cohen and her Circle Sisters.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. today in Memorial Oaks Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Kim Little-Brooks officiating.
Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Choir Robe Fund.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
E.M. Rogers
October 24, 1917 - November 2, 2007
E.M. Rogers, age 90 of Brenham, passed away Friday, November 2, 2007 at his home with family by his side.
He was born October 24, 1917 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Ernest Meek and Maude Sherrod Rogers. On April 27, 1973 he married Lula M. Whetstone in Houston. He served in the United States Army. He was employed with Shell Oil Company for 36 years. Mr. Rogers was a member and usher at Brenham’s First Baptist Church. His community service affiliations included: Bread Partners; hospital volunteer for 30 years, Texas Children’s Hospital lifetime member, St. Jude Hospital and Trinity Medical Center; Boy Scout leader for 25 years; and member of American Legion Buddy Wright Post #48.
He delighted in his grandchildren and enjoyed hunting with his son, golfing and fishing.
His parents and siblings Thelma, Kathryn and Helen preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife Lula “Lou” Rogers of Brenham; son Dr. Thomas Ray Rogers and wife Peggy of Temple; daughters Carol Samuelson Yates of Bryan, Kathy Walters and husband Jerry of Tyler; grandchildren Scott Rogers and wife Erin, Sara Rogers, Diane Sykes and husband Jeremy, Laura Samuelson, Melissa Hopson and husband Keith, Jerry Walters III and wife Christian; great-grandchildren Isaiah Keith Hopson, Mary Elizabeth Hopson, Marley Lynn and Audrey Lynn Walters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2007 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Stephen Ponder officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Hospice or Trinity Medical Center.

Edith Engle Marsh
March 26, 1916 - January 12, 2006
Edith Frances Marsh, age 89 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2006 in Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village.
Mrs. Marsh was born March 26, 1916 in Canadian, Texas to Aaron and Emily (Parsell) Engle. Mrs. Marsh earned her Master’s Degree from Sul Ross University. She was a loving mother, devoted Christian and possessed a Pioneer Spirit. She is survived by: son and daughter-in-law, Michael Dennis and Joyce Brown of Brenham; daughter, Emily Karen Reidel of Italy; two grandchildren, David Taylor Reidel and Kathryn Elizabeth White; sister, Jean Hoffman of Ft. Stockton; and three nephews, James Hoffman of Weatherford, Texas, Dr, David Hoffman of Waco and John Hoffman of Bellville.
In lieu of usual remembrances memorials may be given to: Alpine Presbyterian Church, Alpine High School Scholarship Fund or charity of your choice.
Interment will be Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Alpine City Cemetery, Alpine, Texas. A celebration of her life will follow at Alpine Presbyterian Church under the direction of Geeslin Funeral Home of Alpine.

Alvin William Schmidt, 87, of Houston, died August 16, 2005, in Spring Branch Medical Center.
Mr. Schmidt was born November 1, 1917, in Malone, Texas, to Paul Robert and Martha Olga Neuman Schmidt. He was baptized and confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church of Malone and attended Malone schools.
On June 14, 1945, he married Evelyn Benson in Grace Lutheran Church in San Diego, California. Mr. Schmidt was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Brenham and was past president of Texas National Bank of Brenham.
Survivors include his son, Paul William Schmidt of Fort Lewis, Washington; two daughters, Karen Bohls and Patricia Smith, both of Houston; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lillie Matthews and Louise and Ray King, all of Malone; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Schmidt, on July 10, 2005; his parents; two brothers; a sister; a daughter, Sue Ellen Tompkins; a granddaughter, Kari Tompkins; and a grandson, Nathan Bohls.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Aug. 19 in Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Matthew Jacobs and Pastor William Holzer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18 in Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Bohls, Aaron Bohls, Andrew Tompkins, Paul Tompkins, Russell Tompkins and Howard Smith.

Freddie Lawrence Markert
(August 15, 1941 - July 1, 2011)
Funeral services for Freddie Markert, 69 of Lexington, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, Texas with Rev. Paul Hartfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 4, 2011 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The Markert family will be present for visitation Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Freddie passed away on Friday, July 1, 2011 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Freddie Lawrence Markert was born on August 15, 1941 in Lincoln, Texas to Carl & Emilie (Walther) Markert. He was united in marriage to Lillian Marie Beisert on July 9, 1960 at Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau, Texas. Freddie was a retired Drywall Contractor and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Loebau. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl & Emilie Markert; four brothers, Ervin Markert, Collie Markert, Willie Markert and Gilbert Markert; two sisters, Ruth Falke and Irene Strokos; parents-in-law, Martin & Clara Beisert; brother-in-law, Arnold Patschke; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy & Roy Proske and a sister-in-law, Nellie Stamport.
Freddie is survived by his wife, Lillian Markert of Lexington; three children, Jeffrey & Marcy Markert of Lexington, Deneen & Billy Herzog of Houston and Kathrine & Justin McBride of The Woodlands; former son-in-law, Daryl Cook of Conroe; grandchildren, Carl & Jaclyn Kolacek of Lexington, Rachael Markert of Waco, Phillip Markert & fiance, Kayla Smith of Tanglewood, Travis Herzog of Houston, Logan Herzog of Houston, Lauren & Brandon Foerster of Spring and Alyssa Cook of The Woodlands; great-grandchildren, Avery Kolacek of Lexington, Rylee and Cameron Foerster of Spring and Paisley Cook, who is due to arrive in October; brother, Roland & Ruth Markert of Houston; four sisters, Elyne Rackel of Lincoln, Betty Leutz of Houston, Francis Wernecke of New Ulm and Edna Green of California; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laverne Patschke of Cypress, Charles & Mary Jane Beisert of Houston, Mildred & Clarence Symmank of Lincoln, Rudy & Gertrude Beisert of Houston, James & Mary Ann Beisert of Houston, Martin Jr. & Darlene Beisert of Dime Box, Larry & Cathy Gruetzner of Loebau, Johnny Stamport of Loebau and Billy & Sylvia Beisert of Loebau as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
