Bertha Malinda Muehlbrad Koerth, 102, of Burton, and the widow of Edward O. Koerth, died Saturday June 19, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.
Mrs. Koerth was born November 25, 1901, in the Burton community, Washington County, TX, to Emil and Wilhemine Krause Muehlbrad. She was baptized March 30, 1902in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine by Reverend John Harder. She was confirmed in Emmanuel Lutheran Church on March 28, 1915, by Reverend J. S. Dallman. Mrs. Koerth attended the Boundary school.
On November 6, 1927, she was married to Edward O. Koerth in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine by Reverend Carl Ziehe. Bertha and Edward lived in the Burton area where they farmed and operated a dairy for many years. They also raised Holstein cattle. She was an excellent seamstress and made a great number of quilts.
Bertha enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great granny to everyone. She was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine and was an active member of the Afternoon Ladies Evening Circle and WELCA.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Nov. 1982; daughter, Betty Jo Petersen, May 1983 and great-grandson, Justin Joswiak, Dec. 2003, parents, two sisters and seven brothers.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M., Tuesday. June 22, 2004 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine with Reverend Pamela Werrell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be considered honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive visitors at Foehner Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, June 21, 2004.

Herbert F. Boehnemann
January 24, 1919 - November 14, 2007
Herbert F. Boehnemann, 88 of Brenham, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in Trinity Medical Center.
Mr. Boehnemann was born January 24, 1919 in Burton, TX to Carl F. and Lydia Stark Boehnemann. He was baptized April 13, 1919 by Rev. L. Hoefer and confirmed March 25, 1934 by Rev. Carl Ziehe both in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Greenvine. He attended Burton School and graduated from Blinn College. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp serving four years during World War II, two tours of duty in the South Pacific, Hawaii, Midway, Ie Shima and Okinawa, having attained the rank of Technical Sergeant. On January 26, 1947, he was united in marriage to Johnnie Mae Grote in Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome by Rev. Walter Wolf and resided in Brenham. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for over fifty years where he served on the finance committee and as an usher for many years. He was also a member of American Legion Buddy Wright Post #48. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed at Sealy Mattress with 25 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Johnnie Mae Boehnemann of Brenham; sister Allyne Boehnemann of Burton; sister-in-law Lorena Boehnemann of Burton; nephews and nieces, Roy and Linda Boehnemann, Leslie, Jr. and Jane Boehnemann, Ronnie and Tracy Boehnemann, Joyce and Keith Burns, Delores and Frank Christian; numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
His parents Carl and Lydia (Stark) Boehnemann; sisters Esther Boehnemann, Vera Lockstedt, Emerine Scroggins; brothers Leslie Boehnemann, Sr., Carl Boehnemann, Jr.; brothers-in-law Benny Lockstedt and Fermin Dale Scroggins; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Rudolph and Martha Meyer Grote and infant sister-in-law preceded him in death.
Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 16 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2007 in Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Matthew Jacobs and Rev. William H. Holzer will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Roy Boehnemann, Leslie Boehnemann, Jr., Ronnie Boehnemann, John Muegge, Nelson Zibilski and Roger Winkelmann. Honorary pallbearers are employees of Sealy Mattress Company.

Alwin Eugene Phillips, age 90, of Brenham, died Saturday, August 20, 2005, in Kruse Memorial Village.
Mr. Phillips was born May 26, 1915, in Madisonville, to Ernest C. and Fannie (Cobb) Phillips. He was married to Ira Frances Worley on October 1, 1938, in Houston.
He was retired from Texas Pipe Bending where he worked for many years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brenham, Garden Oaks Masonic Lodge #1306 in Houston, Garden Oaks Order of the Eastern Star #987 in Houston, Brenham Order of the Eastern Star #144, Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Union #211 in Houston (62 year member) and a life member of National Rifle Association.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ira Frances; sons and daughters-in-law Alfred Mitch and Louise Phillips of Austin, Leonard Irvin and Becky Phillips of Brenham; brothers; Ercel Lee Phillips of Madisonville, Ernest C. Phillips and wife Ruth of Yuba City, California, Louis Phillips and wife Barbara of College Station; sister Marie Lucas of Houston; grandchildren Frederick Carre of Rouen, France, Kevin Phillips and wife Vickie of San Antonio, Bryan Matthew Phillips and wife Sandra of San Antonio, Robin Rene Phillips of Austin, Shaunna West and husband Coy of Austin, Carrie Beth Phillips of San Francisco, California and Jordan Phillips of Austin; step-grandchildren Bruce and Sarah Sorge of Waller, Cliff and Kelly Sorge of Hempstead; great-grandchildren Beau Phillips, Faith Phillips and Makayla Phillips of San Antonio; step- great-grandchildren Dylan, Ashlyn and Lauren Sorge of Hempstead, Collin Sorge of Waller; and numerous nieces and nephews and sisters and brothers-in-laws.
The funeral service for Mr. Phillips will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel with pastors Dean Mead, Bob Craig and Larry Embry officiating. Burial to follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.

Franklin Dewayne “Schotts” Jasinski, 57, of Brenham, died June 26, 2004, at his home surrounded by his family.
Dewayne was born in Brenham, Texas, on November 3, 1946, the second of three children born to Frank John and Billie Marie Maynard Jasinski. He was baptized on November 29, 1949 and confirmed on November 13, 1960, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, Texas.
Mr. Jasinski grew up in Brenham and attended St. Mary’s Catholic School and was a 1965 graduate of Brenham High School, where he excelled in track and represented BHS twice in the state track meet.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969, and was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War.
On April 20, 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Ann Buddenberg, at St. James Lutheran Church, New Wehdem.
On January 11, 1970, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. Willard Z. Rother at St. James.
Mr. Jasinski was the owner of Grimm’s Radiator and Double J Quail Farm.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, a life member of the VFW Post # 7104 and the Pleasant Hill/New Wehdem Shooting Club.
“Schotts” never met a stranger. He lived his life with honesty and integrity, always filled with humor and received his greatest pleasure from his family. He was so very proud of all of his children and his precious Shelby and Jake.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Jasinski of Brenham; sons, Bradley Wayne Jasinski and wife Amy of Brenham; Anthony Scott Jasinski and fiancée Erika Ann Banks of Austin; daughter, Larissa Ann Olson and husband Eric of Brenham; mother, Billie Marie Jasinski of Brenham; grandchildren, Shelby Ann Olson and Jake Eric Olson of Brenham; sister, Joy Rybarski and husband Steve of Brenham; brother, Lenny Jasinski and wife Diane of Dripping Springs; mother-in-law, Bernice Buddenberg of Brenham; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sandra Teufel of Brenham and Cynthia and David Tharp of Seabrook; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts; uncles; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Jasinski; his father-in-law, William “Jake” Buddenberg; brothers-in-law, Odis Teufel and Scott Buddenberg; and a niece, Amy Teufel.
At the family’s request, Mr. Jasinski’s casket will be closed at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Oaks Chapel and will remain closed at the church.
The funeral service for Dewayne “Schotts” Jasinski will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 29 in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem with Pastor Bob Myers officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Ray Rodenbeck, Dale Williamson, Ralph Tiemann, Jimmie Dreyer, Roger Hannath, Ray Stelter, Roger Kelm, Tommy Holle, Mike Redman, Roy Kokemoor, Travis “T-Ray” Sander and Harvey Arldt.
Honorary pallbearers are his Monday night card group, deer hunting buddies, Fish or Knot group, Ro-Han golfing buddies, Karen Dreyer and Ronnie and Glenda Neutzler.

Edsel W. Wiesepape, age 74 of Brenham, passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 in Bellville General Hospital.
He was born October 28, 1934 to Eddie and Edna Hacker Wiesepape in Washington County, Texas. He was married to Dolores Finke. Edsel was a ferrier and traded horses and later in his life raised Chihuahua dogs.
Survivors include: wife Dolores Wiesepape; children and their spouses Craig and Sandy Wiesepape, Michael and Kathy Wiesepape, David Wiesepape, Carol and Richard Waligura and Leslie and Calvin Ryan; grandchildren Christina, Shelby, Cortney, and Shane Wiesepape and, Breanna, Jacob, and Kayli Ryan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Lee Alan Wiesepape.
Visitation with the Wiesepape family will be Sunday, November 16, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 17, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem with Rev. Charles Parnell and Rev. Lydia Paterson officiating.

Dennis William Schomburg, Jr., 82, of Brenham, died Oct. 1, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.
Mr. Schomburg was born Aug. 25, 1923, in Brenham, TX, to Dennis William Sr. and Margaret Eckardt Schomburg. He was baptized Jan. 6, 1924, in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham and was confirmed April 10, 1938, in the same church. Mr. Schomburg was a graduate of Brenham High School, Blinn College and attended the University of Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radioman third class.
On Dec. 8, 1946, he was married to Doris Stern in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. Mr. Schomburg served as charter member, past commander and quartermaster of James F. Dillon Post 7104 VFW. He was a member of the American Legion and Scottish Rite, charter member of Goodfellows and life member and past master of Graham Lodge No. 20 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. He was retired from TFE Co.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Schomburg of Brenham; two sons, Mike Schomburg of Fort Worth and David Schomburg of Brenham; and a brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Anne Schomburg of Brenham.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Lawrence Bade and Pastor Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
