Olevia Annie Gaskamp, 91, passed away the morning of January 30, 2014 at High Hope Care Center in Brenham. Survivors include her son, Erwin August Gaskamp, Jr. of Houston, and daughter and son-in-law, Linda Ann and David Stanley of Rockdale; grandchildren Jennifer Dyer and husband Brent of Houston, Melissa Broadway and husband John IV of Allen, Eric Gaskamp of Austin, Jon Stanley and wife Laura of Franklin, Michelle Collins and husband Chris of Leander, and Jessica Stanley of Rockdale; great-grandchildren Alexandra Broadway, John Broadway V, Emily Collins, Ethan Stanley, and Jack Stanley; sister-in-law and brother Jenell and Clarence Jaster of Round Top; sister-in-law and brother Carol and Elwood Jaster of Brenham; sisters-in-law Ruth Jaster of Houston, and uline Jaster of Brenham; brother-in-law Vernon Gaskamp of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 56 years; brothers Erich and Melvin Jaster; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Katherine and Leroy Gaskamp; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Erna and Gilbert Gaskamp; brother-in-law Alton Gaskamp; and sister-in-law Jeanette Gaskamp. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, February 3 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastors Phil Fenton and Kindlee Lund officiating. Alfred Landgraf, 86, of Deer Park, TX died January 29, 2014. Survivors include his wife, Iva Lee Landgraf of Deer Park. Interment will be held Saturday, February 1, 3:00pm in the Carmine Cemetery.
Jane Moore Cameron Koy
Jane Moore Cameron Koy, 102, died January 30, 2014. Married to Ernie for 70 years, she was a merchant by trade, and mother of Mary Jan, Ernie, Margaret and Ted Koy. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, husband and two daughters. She is survived by her sons, Ernie M. Koy and his wife Barbara, of Kenney, TX., Dr. Ted Koy and wife, Valerie, of Georgetown, TX., son-in-law, Dr. Clay Kistler, of Bellville, TX. and 7 grandchildren. Family will receive friends Saturday, February 1, 5:00-7:00pm at the Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville. Henry J. Marburger
Funeral services for Henry J. Marburger are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church, with Pastors Mark Groves and Walt Schindehette officiating. Burial will take place at Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Mr. Marburger passed away January 28, 2014 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab at the age of 82. Mr. Marburger was born Feb. 27, 1931 in Dime Box to Henry Otto and Ella (Banik) Marburger. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church of Dime Box, where he was later confirmed. After completing high school, he attended Blinn College. Henry served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On July 30, 1955, he married Joyce M. Kaase at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. Survivors include his son, Danny R. Marburger and girlfriend Kathryn Prudhomme of Houston; daughter and son-in-law Debbie Sue and Peter Gutierrez of Brenham, and their son, Aaron Gutierrez; sisters Junell Allen and husband Dale of Giddings, and Joyzelle Seely of Oklahoma; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Viola and Roland Wittner, and Gayle and Lloyd Kaase. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his wife, Joyce Marburger. Henry enjoyed spending time at his place in Dime Box, and loved being outdoors. Gardening, fishing and bird hunting were favorite pastimes. He loved listening to country and western music, as well as playing pedal steel guitar. Prior to joining Christ Lutheran Church, he was a long-time member of St. James Lutheran Church, where he served as council member, Sunday School teacher, and Luther League sponsor. He also played the steel guitar during worship services. Prior to retirement, Henry was the manager of Brenham Appliance and T.V. Previously, he was a T.V. technician at Wollie Radio, T.V. & Appliance Co. for many years. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. Esther Mary Keese, 98, widow of Alton Keese, died January 27, 2014 in Brenham. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, with Fr. Ernesto Elizondo, Celebrant. Burial will take place in the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Frenstat at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Ruth Annette Gaskamp
Ruth Annette Gaskamp, 63, of Brenham, died January 24, 2014 at Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville, with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Ruth was born May 27, 1950 in Brenham to Alfred and Nelda (Wieghat) Gaskamp. After graduating Brenham High School, she obtained a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State College. She served as an administrative assistant at her church. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Carrie Gaskamp of Kingwood, and two nephews: Clayton W. Gaskamp and wife Kristina, and Lucas Gaskamp and wife Megan. Also surviving are several aunts and uncles, as well as numerous cousins. Ruth was thankful for the many loving friends who supported her during her life. She was a prolific writer, detailing her travels, and researching various destinations throughout the world, even those she had not visited. She treasured time spent with a special friend in France, and remembered fondly her time living in Colorado. Regina (Bolcerek) Antkowiak, age 83 of Brenham and the widow of John Antkowiak, passed away at her home Friday, January 24, 2014. Regina Antkowiak is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Diana ”Sissy” and Vincent Lancaster; son, Dannie Antkowiak; granddaughter Brooklyn Lancaster; brothers and sisters-in-law, Florian Bolcerek, Albin and Louise Bolcerek, Bennie and Marjorie Bolcerek, Bonnie Bolcerek; numerous nieces and nephews. Clamens Tiemann, Sr., 90, husband of Ora Nell (Hahn) Tiemann, died January 23, 2014 at the family residence. Brian Keith Chambers, 49, died January 17, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. Virginia “Pat” (Ueckert) Brau Maass age 80 passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2014 in Kruse Village. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, January 22 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Pat was a Licensed Vocational Nurse employed at Bellville Clinic and Hospital from 1950-1959, and then Brenham Clinic where she worked with Dr. Henry Boehm from 1959 until 1998 when she retired. Clarence Herzog passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at his home in Clay, Texas. Clarence was born April 30, 1930 to Leo and Ella (Schramme) Herzog in The Prairie Hill Community. On October 14, 1950, he was married to Elizabeth “Sugar” Brewton. Survivors include: his wife, “Liz” Herzog, brothers and sisters-in-law, Glen and Britta Herzog of Austin, Harvey and Erin Herzog of Brenham; brother-in-law, Morris Brewton of Brenham, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Kay Janner of Clay, and numerous nieces and nephews. Harold Gene Rinn, 45, of Industry, died December 26, 2013 in Cuero. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome, with Pastor John Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
