David Charles “Coach Bear” Baranowski, 40, of Arlington, died August 8, 2005, in Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth.
Mr. Baranowski was born September 8, 1964, in Houston, to Alphonse and Billie Dismukes Baranowski. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Houston. Mr. Baranowski attended St. Rose of Lima in Houston, Seton Middle School and was a graduate of St. Pius High School. He also attended Blinn College and the University of Houston and was a graduate of Texas Southern.
His first love was being a teacher and football coach, previously at Warren High School and most recently at Trimble Technological School at Fort Worth ISD. He also enjoyed deer hunting at his brother’s ranch and being with his family. David was a very caring person and a dedicated teacher and coach. He loved his niece, Shelly, and nephew, Jake. He was their “Uncle Chuck.” His fellow coaches and students were also dear to his heart.
He is survived by his mother, Billie H. Baranowski of Chappell Hill; brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Elaine Baranowski of New Braunfels; niece, Shelly Elaine Baranowski, nephew, Jake Allen Baranowski, both of New Braunfels; aunts and uncles, Ernest and Barbara Bugaj of Houston, Billie June Biehle of Lexington; and numerous other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alphonse Baranowski; aunts and uncles, Leonard and Janie Baranowski and Leonard and Sarah Dismukes; and grandparents, Chester and Annie Baranowski and Hamilton and Mozelle Dismukes.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill with Father Leonard Onwumere and Monsignor Benedict Zientek, celebrants. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers include T.J. Ramsey, Raymond Nowak, Rusty Cauthern, Steve Nitesche, Brad Schroeder, Don Patton, Jerry Magin and Pete Martinez.
Honorary pallbearers are Jesse Rubio, Mike Paddy, Phillip Scoggins, Ronnie Ford, Nathan Moye, Heath Fultz, Mike Pate, Len Ellis and Leland Hand.
The rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Memorials may be given to Warren ISD, where a scholarship fund has been established in David’s name.

Ruby Lee Kiel, 84, of Carmine, TX, died April 22, 2004, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham.
Mrs. Kiel was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Carmine, to Herman and Mary Kieke Eichler. She was baptized May 2, 1920, in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine and was confirmed April 9, 1933, in the same church. She attended La Bahia and Carmine schools.
On April 9, 1941, she married Herbert Kiel in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine.
Mrs. Kiel was the owner of K&K; Sausage. She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the La Bahia Cemetery Association and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kiel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert Kiel, in 1986; and two sisters, Bernice Rohde and Mary Belle Krause.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25 in Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with Pastor Paul Bohot officiating. Burial will be in the La Bahia Cemetery.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine.

Bruce Allen Brokmeyer

Bruce Allen Brokmeyer, 54, of Brenham, formerly of New Ulm, died Friday morning at the family residence.
Mr. Brokmeyer was born March 16, 1951, in Columbus, Texas, to Isadore A. and Doris Marie Haverlah Brokmeyer. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Texas.
On February 4, 1994, he was married to Susan Lynn Simonson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Frelsburg, Texas. Bruce was a professional sawyer, specializing in cedar lumber. He loved to create and build anything out of wood and was considered a highly skilled specialist in his field. Being an avid outdoorsman, he loved to spend time camping. He enjoyed caring for his animals, especially his pigs and horses. Most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren grow and play. They were his pride and joy.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Susan Reasoner Brokmeyer of Brenham; sons & daughters-in-law: Kley & Tammy Brokmeyer of Fayetteville, TX, Cody & Gail Brokmeyer of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Russell & Katherine Simonson of New Ulm, TX; daughter & son-in-law: Stacy & Lloyd “T” Saunders of Brenham; brothers & sisters-in-law: James & Fran Brokmeyer of Katy, TX, Donald & Dawn Brokmeyer of New Ulm, TX and Randy & Charlotte Brokmeyer of Terrell, TX; sister & brother-in-law: Robin & Terrell Maertz of Alleyton, TX.; Grandmother: Mary Haverlah Klatt of Brenham; Grandchildren: Matthew Simonson, Luke Simonson, Ethan Simonson, Tucker Saunders and Eli Saunders.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Wyatt Walker Saunders.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 16, with visitation beginning at 9:00 A.M. and continuing after the memorial service, Pastor Larry Cooke will officiate.

Memorial services for Benjamin Gunter Jr., 57 of Ledbetter, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings with Rev. Tom Long officiating.
Benjamin Franklin Gunter Jr. was born on July 21, 1954 in Giddings, Texas to Benjamin Gunter Sr. & Betty Beaman Gunter. He graduated from Giddings High School and married Gloria Henry on May 10, 1997. Benjamin was a drywall applicator who enjoyed gardening, helping others and loved building things.
Benjamin died unexpectedly as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, September 23, 2011 in Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Benjamin is survived by his wife, Gloria Gunter of Ledbetter; two sons, Jon Gunter of Houston and Shawn Kirkham of Ledbetter; two daughters, Liz Gunter of Giddings and April Kirkham of Giddings; two grandchildren, Savannah Creppel and Brooke Creppel both of Giddings; three brothers, Joe Gunter of Ledbetter, Bill Gunter of Ledbetter and Travis & Lynn Gunter of Giddings; five sisters, Johnnie & Dwayne Reynolds of Caldwell, Terry & Melvin Iselt of Ledbetter, Barbara & Gene Coker of Livingston, Patsy & Cecil Buscha of Lincoln and Susie & Gary Wrinkle of Orange Grove as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members and friends.

Becky Lynn Clay, 48, of Brenham, died Sept. 25, 2005, at Trinity Medical Center in Brenham.
Mrs. Clay was born May 1, 1957, in Brenham, to George D. and Barbara Mendell Maynard. She was a graduate of Brenham High School.
On May 1, 1991, she was married to James S. Clay. Mrs. Clay was an assembler at Trepan Tools and was a supporter of Marine Moms.
Survivors include her husband, James S. Clay of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law, Brandon and Kelli Maynard of Houston, Brian and Misty Maynard of Brenham and Chris Maynard of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeniffer and Charles Davidson and Crystal and David Martinez, all of Brenham; three grandchildren; her father, George Maynard and wife Mildred of Kenney; her mother, Barbara Schroeder and husband Wesley of Anderson; brothers and sisters-in-law, George “Duncan” and Rhonda Maynard of West Virginia and Howard and Lorinda Maynard of Brenham; father-in-law and mother-in-law, T.C. and Leigh Ruth Clay of Brenham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David Jones and Patti Clay, Finney M. and Donna Clay and Tommy and Florence Clay, all of Brenham.

Joe David Dismukes, 47, of Brenham and formerly of Sealy, died Sept. 25, 2005, in Trinity Care Center in Brenham.
Mr. Dismukes was born July 24, 1958, in Brenham, to Leonard E. and Sarah Frances Kubeczka Dismukes. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. He attended Brenham schools. Mr. Dismukes was a heavy equipment operator in the construction business.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Kelly Nicole and James Antkowiak of Chappell Hill and Jenna Marie Dismukes of College Station; brother and sister-in-law, Leonard “Poncho” and Julie Dismukes of Brenham; nephews, Chad Dismukes of Brenham and Cole Dismukes of Huntsville; and aunts, uncles and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Hamilton and Mozelle Dismukes and Katy and John Kubeczka; and an infant sister.
Pallbearers will be Chad Dismukes, Ricky Kolajajak, Wayne Baranowski, Louis Kmiec, Jr., Leonard Bilski, Kenneth Schulze, Johnnie Kmiec and Joe Kmiec.
Memorials may be given to Hospice of Brenham.
