Joy Dell Grimm, a life-long resident of Brenham, was called home to the Lord on September 9, 2015. Funeral services for Joy Dell Grimm will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 10 am at Salem Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation with the Grimm family will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Joy Dell Grimm is survived by her husband, Billy Ray Grimm; her children and grandchildren: Brian Grimm and his daughter, Payton; Jonathan Grimm and his wife, Christie, and their children, Ethan and Megan; Bret Grimm and his wife, Shawn, and their son, Bentley; Angela Bernshausen and her husband, Bobby, and their children, Amber, Lauren and Wesley. Margaret Jean "Marnie" Whitmarsh
Margaret Jean “Marnie” Whitmarsh, 89, widow of Vernon Gray Whitmarsh, died Sept. 5, 2015 in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Pastor Mike Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Phil and Paula Lesser; nephews and nieces: Harry Kay Lesser, Jr. and wife, Joann; Francene Tharp, and husband, Twain; Craig P. Lesser; Cindy Gregor, and husband Brady; Mary Kay Beard, and husband, Jim; great-nephews and nieces: Cody Tharp, and wife Dana; Daren Tharp and wife Evelyn; Harry Kay Lesser, III, Sydney Lesser; Clinton Lesser; Jenna Gregor; Karra Gregor; Russell Beard; great-great nephew and nieces: Cole, Katelyn and Lauren Tharp; cousins: Shirley Manditch and Reba Kay Cooper, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Marnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Whitmarsh in 1988; brother, Harry Kay Lesser, Sr., and sister-in-law, Mavis Lesser. Daniel F. Muske
Daniel F. Muske, husband of Joyce Seidel Muske, was called home to our Lord on Sept. 4, 2015 at his residence in New Ulm, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. Pastor John David Nedbalek will officiate. Burial will follow in New Ulm Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Muske of New Ulm, Texas; son, Jay Muske and special friend, Gina Talbert of Friendswood, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law Sandra and Terry Krebs of Shelby, Texas, and Wanda and Rocky Leopold of Columbus, Texas; grandchildren: John and Monica Anderson, Michael Krebs, Justin Krebs and fiancé, Julie Locke; Cort Leopold, Drew Leopold, Lexi Leopold and special friend, Derrick Hayes; Jared Muske and special friend, Sarah Lucas, Cole Muske, Westin Talbert and Brooke Talbert; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Anderson and Wesley Anderson. Charles Tappe
Charles Tappe, 80, former resident of Washington County, and the widower of Evelyn Schroeder Tappe, died Monday in Vidor. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00am, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Prairie Lea Cemetery. She is survived by a sister, Argie Schroeder Mims of La Porte. Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham, TX 77833 is in charge of arrangements.

John William Spreen
John William Spreen, 89, of Brenham, died August 27, 2015. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 - 8:00pm Friday, August 28, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for John Spreen will be at 3:00pm, Saturday, August 29, at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. John Spreen is survived by his wife, Mildred Spreen of Brenham; and daughter Kimberly Ann Weilbacher and husband Bruce of San Antonio. Funeral arrangements for John Spreen are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham

Rev. Lester Lee Vinson
Rev. Lester Lee Vinson, 88, passed away August 26, 2015 in Bryan. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2015 at Greenvine Baptist Church, with Pastors Jack Faulkner and Tim Webb are officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. service time at Greenvine Baptist Church. Lester and Peggy have 2 children, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. His daughter, Jeanny Meeker, and her husband Jack, of Brenham, have three girls: Mandy, Lindee, and Crystal. His son, Edward and wife Gail of Fair Oaks, California, have a boy and girl, Graham and Mia. Great-grandchildren are Ivy Sage Caron and Ozzie Kiamana Caron from Mia Vinson Caron and her husband, Justin. They are twins. Rylie Jean Grey Schibler from Crystal Meeker Schibler and her husband Cory; Geneveve Mae, Anne Winsome, and Rebecca Faith are from Mandy Meeker Cunningham and her husband Gary, and Lindee Knowles and husband, Jon. Funeral arrangements for Lester Lee Vinson are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

Vinnie Rene Schroeder Jaster
Vinnie Rene Schroeder Jaster, 70, wife of Glenn Jaster, passed away August 22, 2015 at her residence in Independence, with her family at her side. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Independence Baptist Church in Independence. Dr. Phil Hassell will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery.Survivors include her husband, Glenn Allen Jaster of Independence; son and daughter-in-law Ross Allen and Gwendolyn Jaster of Iola; daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Dusty Parker of Brenham; grandchildren: Tyler Wesley Kmiec and friend, Felicia Bennett; Tiffany Rosenkranz, Ronnie Parker, and Roy and Sarah Porter; great-grandchildren: Tyler Southernwood, and Asher Porter; sister-in-law Beverly Jaster. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Vinnie was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Irene Schroeder; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Otto and Elma Jaster, and a brother-in-law, Donald Jaster. Olline Elizabeth Bradford Merritt
Olline Elizabeth Bradford Merritt, 94, died on August 19, 2015, under the care of Hospice Brazos Valley in Baylor Scott & White Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 24, at Memorial Oaks Chapel with The Reverend Richard Stadelmann officiating. A reception will follow immediately at Design II. Visitation will be at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Sunday, August 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Merritt was a member of the First Christian Church of Brenham, Texas. Survivors include daughter, Rockie Canales Rexroad; son, Rodney Merritt; son-in-law Donald Rexroad; daughter-in-law Deborah Merritt; granddaughters Addie Braziel, Echo Rexroad, Rebecca "Evie" Farrell, and Shelley McKann; grandsons Richard Merritt, Stephen Merritt, Christopher Merritt, and Samuel McKann; six great grandsons and one great granddaughter; niece, Darla Duke Smith; nephew, Mike McCrary; John Braziel and Kara Davis; Kathy and Douglas Schwarze, Emilee Scott, and Molly Schwarze. Daniel Lee Emshoff
Daniel Lee Emshoff, 66, passed away August 20, 2015 at Kenedy Health and Rehab in Kenedy, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Behlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, with Rev. Mark Moldenhauer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Daniel Lee Emshoff was born July 18, 1949 in Navasota to Herbert H. and Johanna Klussmann Emshoff. He was baptized August 14, 1949 by Rev. C. J. Appel and confirmed April 10, 1962 by Rev. Wallace Dean Marth at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, where he continued membership until his death. Daniel attended William Penn School, Brenham area schools, graduated from Brenham High School, and then attended Blinn College. After high school, Daniel joined the U. S. Navy, and was stationed in San Diego, California. A Viet Nam veteran, Daniel served on the destroyer James E. Keyes, whose mission included protecting aircraft carriers. He was a machinist mate. During his four years in the Navy, he toured Hawaii, the Philippine Islands, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Mexico, Canada and Alaska. Daniel worked on a cotton gin, as well as several construction companies, and later became part owner of William Penn Builders. Living on the banks of the Brazos River, Daniel enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a craftsman with many interests. He made boats, cedar chests, airplanes, and enjoyed woodcarving. He learned to use his mother’s sewing machine so he could sew his parafoils. Daniel made bridles from his own leather from a fresh cowhide buried icon in the ground. Reading and photography were favorite hobbies. Survivors include his sister, Lathel (Lee) Norris; niece Kristy Fessenden and husband Scott, and nephews Fox and Phoenix Fessenden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Johanna Emshoff; brother, Gordon Ray Emshoff, and brother-in-law George Norris, Jr. Serving as pallbearers are Leroy Conner, Kenneth Conner, Valgene Kohring, Stanley Sommer, Joey Brandt, Phil Cook, Trey Brandt, and Roy Schwartz. Honorary pallbearers are Fox Fessenden, Phoenix Fessenden, Kristy Fessenden, Scott Fessenden, and Mark Brandt. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Funeral arrangements for Daniel Lee Emshoff are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

Peggy Lynn (Henze) Rybarski
Peggy Lynn (Henze) Rybarski, 51 of Brenham, and the widow of Matt Rybarski, passed away Thursday, July 30 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Peggy Rybarski is survived by her loving family: daughters, Nancy and husband Talal Khan of Dallas, Taylor Herrmann of Brenham; grandchildren, Landon and Aayan Khan; sister, Carol Whiddon and husband Johnnie; brother, Cliff Henze; mother-in-law, Annie Rybarski, along with numerous aunts, uncle and cousins. Peggy was employed for 20 years in the home health care as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. The family extends a special “Thank You” to Jeanette Palmer for the unwavering care that she gave Peggy. Visitation is from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 31 with Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, all in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Nello Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers are Johnnie Whiddon, Luke Ladewig, Mike Leonard, Kenny Krueger, Mike Hohlt, Duane Ahrens. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Ladewig and Brenham Quick Mart. Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley. Ernst "Gus" August Kleiber
(February 17, 1914 - October 13, 2011)
Funeral services for Ernst August "Gus" Kleiber, 97 of Winchester, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Giddings with Father James Olnhausen officiating. Burial will follow in the La Grange City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Kleiber passed away during the early morning hours of Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Central Texas Hospital in Cameron.
Ernst "Gus" August Kleiber was born on February 17, 1914 in Winchester, Texas to Ernst & Anna (Leopold) Kleiber. He was united in marriage to Lillie Krampota on July 9, 1940 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Smithville. He retired from the LCRA and was a farmer and rancher most of his life and a longtime member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Giddings. Mr. Kleiber spent the last two years of his life living with his son, Eugene & his wife Marjorie in Milano following the death of his wife, Lillie in 2009.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years; three brothers, Leo, Edward & Alvin and a sister, Ann Kleiber Griggs.
Mr. Kleiber is survived by his three sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton & Pat Kleiber of Winchester, Leroy & Nilsa Kleiber of Kingwood and Eugene & Marjorie Kleiber of Milano; 6 grandchildren, Mike & Mary Kleiber of New Waverly, Greg & Jeri Kleiber of San Antonio, Randy & Deborah Kleiber of Brenham, Jennifer & Pat Smith of Houston, Wendy & Jon Bradley of Round Rock and Sandy & Earl Ewald of Liberty Hill; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Kleiber, Greg Kleiber, Randy Kleiber, Justin Kleiber, Jon Bradley and Earl Ewald.
Memorials may be made to the South Lee County Volunteer Fire Department, the Winchester Volunteer Fire Department or the charity of one's choice.
