Phillip Allen Loesch, 34, husband of Betty Jean (Schaefer) Loesch, passed away February 9, 2015 in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem, with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00pm Wednesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Betty (Schaefer) Loesch; parents, Elroy Paul and Carolyn (Reddehase) Loesch, all of Brenham; brother and sister-in-law Stephen Paul and Wendy Loesch of Kenney; sisters and brothers-in-law Connie Lynn and Troy Oevermann, and Debra Lynn and Ronnie Nienstedt, all of Brenham; sons Jason Allen Brending and Justin Dale Brending; granddaughter Bailey Rebecca Ann Brending; nieces and nephews: Andrew Wagner, Brianna Oevermann, and Kaitlyn and Tyler Nienstedt. He is also survived by parents-in-law Marilyn Jane and Adolph William Schaefer, also of Brenham. Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents: Melvin and Wilma Reddehase, Paul and Adeline Loesch, and Cecilia and Henry Hendrickson. Funeral arrangements for Phillip Allen Loesch are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

Clinton Otto Broecker
Clinton Otto Broecker, 76, of Brenham, husband of Ruth Lampe Broecker, died February 6, 2015 at Brenham Nursing and Rehab. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, February 9, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Broecker; daughter Rebecca Lynne Broecker and fiancé Bobby Zabala of Hutto; niece Ginger Dannhaus and husband Kyle; nephew John Kemper; great-niece Shelby Kemper; great-nephews Jason Dannhaus, Cody Kemper, and Blake Dannhaus and wife Leanne. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral arranagements for Clinton Broecker are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

Elwood Goldberg
Elwood Goldberg, 85, husband of Ora Lee Goldberg, died February 4, 2015 in Brenham. Funeral services for Elwood Goldberg are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Elwood was preceded in death by his parents, and by his daughter, Agnes. He is survived by wife, Ora Lee of Burton, Daughter Debbie of Burton, and Grandson Caleb of Burton. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Wilburn (Butch) and Anntlee Goldberg of Brenham and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ben and Barbara Bosse of Brenham. Also surviving are four nieces and their husbands: Lois and Doug Wise of Magnolia, Sandra and Jeff Gritter of College Station, Christine and Keith Muehlbrad of Burton, and Amanda and Jonathan Prior of Brenham, as well as numerous cousins and great-nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements for Elwood Goldberg are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

David M. Hargrave
David M. Hargrave, age 86 of Hockley, passed away on February 2, 2015. Visitation will be Friday, February 6, from 5:00 - 8:00pm. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 7, at 10:00am at Canon Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Wunderlich officiating. Interment will follow at Fieldstore Cemetery. Alois Zientek
Alois Zientek, 91 of Brenham, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at the family residence. Viewing will be from 6-8 pm with Rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 7 pm, Thursday, February 5 in Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 pm, Friday, February 6 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Monsignors Benedict and Boleslaus Zientek, as celebrants. Burial will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Alois is the oldest living member of the Knights of Columbus and was an electrical contractor for sixty years. Alois Zientek is survived by his loving family: wife Regina; children: Cecilia Schramm, Julia Jones, Oscar Zientek, Maxine Parker, Patrick (wife Sandra) Zientek, Robert (wife Linda) Zientek; brothers Monsignor Benedict Zientek, Julian Zientek, Monsignor “Boli” Zientek; his 12 grandchildren are Jamie Emick, Jackie Cunningham, Eric Jones, Neil Jones, Megan, Morgan and Michael Parker, Adrienne and Kelsey Zientek, Kasey, Grace and Matthew Zientek ; 5 great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Pallbearers are his 5 grandsons Eric Jones, Neil Jones, Michael Parker, Kasey Zientek and Matthew Zientek, Randy Schwartz, David Schwartz and Jerry Schwartz. Honorary pallbearers are Jimbo Hafner, Ronnie Holle, Wally Schlabach, Ralph Kallie, Sam Murski, Paul Murski and various musician friends, Members of the Gay Hill Shooting Club, Knights of Columbus and Employees of HD & Dealers Electrical Supply. Lee Roy Meier
Lee Roy Meier, age 86, of Brenham, husband of Nora Meier, passed away Monday evening at Gazebo Terrace Skilled Care and Rehabilitation. Lee Roy is survived by his wife Nora; children Donald and wife Miranda, Darrell and wife Cheryl; grandchildren: Christopher and Carra Meier, Adrienne Meier, and Nicholas Vierus and wife Erin and great-grandchildren Carter and Cooper Vierus. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Ruth Kelling and Ruby Naumann. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Caroline Meier; in-laws, Louis and Clara Naumann, brother, Leslie and wife Ernestine; Sisters and brothers- in-law: Esther and Henry Haar and Melvin and Lucille Kiemsteadt, brothers and sisters in law Herbert Naumann, Otto and Elsie Kemper, Arnold and Evelyn Naumann, Erna nd Erwin Grawunder, Lillie Mae and Johnnie Kramer and Daniel Kelling. Services for Lee Roy Meier will be held on Friday, February 6th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg with Pastor Robert Sorensen officiating. Burial will be in the Phillipsburg church cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Calvin Meyer
Calvin Meyer, 75, of Brenham, died Feb. 2, 2015, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville with Pastor Jim Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Meyer; son, Darrell Wayne Meyer; daughter Cheryl Lynn Davis; daughter-in-law Eva Meyer; and son-in-law Mike Davis; grandchildren: Melissa Meyer Farmer, Laura and Matthew Perkey, Cody Wayne Davis, and Cara Lynn Davis. Other surviving relatives are brother and sister-in-law Felix and Pat Meyer; nieces and nephews Tina and David Burkhead, and Tara and Keith Draehn; great-nephews: Dylan and Dawson Draehn; Preceding him in death were his parents, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Theodore and Welma Pelkemeyer, and his beloved dog and best buddy, Buster. Bernice Mae Loewe
Bernice Mae Loewe, 92, of Carmine, widow of J.R. Loewe, died on January 31, 2015. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine with Pastor David Tinker officiating. Burial will be in the Loewe Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Bernice will lie instate at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home until 3:00 p.m. Monday. Survivors include; sons and daughter-in-law; Jimmy and Marie Loewe of Carmine, and Wilbert Loewe of Carmine. Sister; LeVerne Hinze of Burton, grandchildren; Glenda and J.D. Maggie Kenjura
Maggie Kenjura, 87, of Brenham, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully Jan. 29, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Manor in Caldwell. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., rosary at 5:00, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 2, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham. Survivors include her brother John Kenjura Jr. and his wife Julie. Maggie’s extended surviving family of nieces, nephews, spouses and their children include: Rick Kenjura, wife Linda, children Megan, Cole, Bailey, Paige and Maggie Jane; Sharon Kenjura Williams, her husband Mark, children Carter, Jamie Williams O’Brien and husband Justin; Connie Kenjura Maples, her husband Mike, children Taylor, Garrett and Carley; Loretta Kenjura Lyons, daughters Michaela, Casey Lyons Sides and husband Cory; Thomas Joe Bugaj Jr.; Patricia Ann Bugaj Evans, her husband J.C., son Michael Ray Evans, his wife Kerri, their children Cason and Karlie; Alvin Bobby Ray Bugai, wife June, daughter Desiree Ann. Maggie is preceded in death by: her parents, John Kenjura Sr. and Rosa Lee Benkowski Kenjura; and, her sister Clementine Frances Kenjura Bugaj and husband Thomas Joseph Bugaj. Viewing and rosary will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham. Funeral services will be at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 701 Church St., Brenham. Funeral arrangements for Miss Maggie Kenjura are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.

Yvonne (Monceaux) Fontenot
Yvonne (Monceaux) Fontenot of La Grange, age 71, passed away on January 28, 2015. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 31, at 3:00pm from the Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home in La Grange. Burial will follow at Rutersville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 3:00pm on Saturday, January 31 at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Wanda Ralston Schulz
Wanda Ralston Schulz of Waller, Texas passed away on January 29, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 4-6pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 2, 2015 at 2pm at Canon Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at the Waller Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Waller, Waller County Historical Society or the American Cancer Society.

Marie Blum
Marie Blum, 94 widow of Herbert Blum, passed away January 28, 2015 at Brenham Rest Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville, with Pastor Pat Lehrer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Her mother, Minna Rubesam Schuermann, one year old twin sister, Martha, and infant sister, Emma, preceded her in death in Germany. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; daughters Mary Schwettmann and Kathy Raffo. She was also preceded in death by her father, Henry, stepmother, Dora Schuermann, as well as one sister, Frieda Schuermann; brothers and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Henry and Emma Schuermann, Gus and Zelma Schuermann, Willie and Lena Blum, Fritz and Emma Blum, Ed and Mary Blum, Otto and Lydia Blum, and Lena and Herman Lange. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Dorine and Elmer Marburger of Brenham; five grandchildren: Lisa Conner and husband Craig, Lori Wittner and husband Rodney, Michael Marburger and wife JoAnn, all of Brenham; Alan Schwettmann and wife Brandy of Bastrop, and Vicki McGuire and husband Gary of Georgetown; nine great-grandchildren: Emily and Matthew Conner, Katelyn and Kathryn Wittner, Allison Marburger, Megan and Cole McGuire, and Danielle and Whitney Andress. She is also survived by sons-in-law David Raffo and wife Marilyn of Vineland, New Jersey and Bill Schwettmann and wife Vicky of Georgetown, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Funeral arrangements for Marie Blum are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
