Larry Eugene Huron, 69, of Brenham died January 3, 2015 in Brenham. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Chapel with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Jay Polisetty, celebrant. Olivia Pieper, 96 of Brenham and the widow of Erwin Pieper, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015 in Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility, Bryan. Mrs. Pieper’s surviving loving family includes: daughter, Ruth Goeke and husband Burgess DeWayne; son, James Pieper and wife Julie; grandchildren, John and Michelle Goeke, Sarah and Todd Johnson, Will and Kim Pieper; great-grandchildren, LeAnn and Heath Goeke, Josiah and Jill Johnson, Poppy Olivia Pieper. Alton Otto Haar, 83, of Brenham, died Nov. 28, 2014 at Scott and White Hospital in College Station. Ora Dell “Tuttle” (Buenger) Ludwig
Ora Dell “Tuttle” (Buenger) Ludwig, 99 of Industry, passed away on November 26, 2014 after many years of living at Kruse Village in Brenham. Ora Dell was born on June 28, 1915, the daughter of Jesse C. and Elsa (Rinn) Bunger. She married Edwin J. Ludwig on February 27, 1937 in Industry. She graduated from Industry High School in 1933 as valedictorian of her class. “Tuttle” then continued her education in cosmetology. Upon her graduation in 1934, she became a hairdresser in Industry for 23 years. In 1957, Ora Dell and her brother, Jay C. Buenger, took over their father’s business, Buenger Chevrolet Company. The business was sold in 1980 and Ora Dell retired. Ora Dell was a member of the Industry United Methodist Church. She taught the youth Sunday School, worked with the Methodist Youth Fellowship, and was a member of Happy Hardt Sunday School Class and a charter member of Dora Circle of the United Methodist Women. She is survived by her grandson, Kyle Pomykal and wife, Laura; seven grandchildren: Morgan, Katherine, Edwin, Jacob, Marjory, Stella and Kyle Levi; brother, Jay C. Buenger; two nephews: Greg Buenger and wife, Anneta, and Bruce Buenger and wife, Cheryl; great nephews, great-nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edwin and daughter, Betty Ann. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Koenig & Strickland Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Industry United Methodist Church, Industry, Texas at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Marjorie Ann Grace (Matthies) Thaler, 79, widow of Eugene (Gene) Thaler, passed away November 20, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Jacquelin Ketcham, 94, of Brenham and a former resident of Houston went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 21, 2014. She is survived by a brother Pat G. Ketcham and wife Montie, her sister Jody Tyson and husband Frank, and a sister-in-law Joyce Ketcham and twelve nieces and nephews. Mildred Louise Kalkhake, 90, of Shelby, passed away November 21, 2014 at Oak Haven Assisted Living in Industry. Juanita Seilheimer, 91, the widow of Allen Seilheimer, died Nov. 18, 2014, in Bryan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Sharon Ullrich “Bitsy” Lett, 60, widow of Tony Lett, died November 4, 2014 in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Bitsy Lett was born March 29, 1954 in Brenham to Otto A. Jr. and Gladys Werchan Ullrich. She was baptized and confirmed at Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine, where she was married to Tony Lett on Sept. 9, 1972. After completing her education, Bitsy was employed as a direct care provider, serving the needs of patients in this area. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Tiffany and Keith Brooks, Tasha and Jason Ladewig, all of Brenham, and Charity and Bradley Shiflett of Tomball; grandchildren: Avery and Addison Brooks, Jayden and Jacob Ladewig, Wyatt, Blair Shiflett, and soon to arrive Weston Shifflet, and Alexa Lett Mulder; brother and sister-in-law Douglas and Sedalia Ullrich; sister and brother-in-law Fritzi and Anson Jones, all of Carmine; brother-in-law Charlie Adamcik; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sherry and Terry Maxwell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wallace and Vicki Johnson, and father-in-law, Billy Starnes. Eunell Lucille (Spies) Weyand
Eunell Lucille (Spies) Weyand of Round Top passed away on November 1, 2014 at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Eunell was born on March 19, 1929 in Winedale, Texas to Benno and Alma Cordes Spies. She was baptized in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Warrenton on August 25, 1929 by Rev. H. Brussotte and confirmed September 6, 1942 in the same church by Rev. Jul. Bosshard. She married Kearney Weyand on April 13, 1947 in Warrenton at St. John’s. She was a rancher, homemaker, and was employed by Round Top-Carmine ISD for 32 years. Eunell was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top and helped serve and provide food for various occasions. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, N.R.A., T.R.T.A., Texas Farm Bureau, the 42 domino club at “On Deck”, and the Shelby birthday group. Eunell is survived by two sons, Roger Weyand of Burton and Kerry Weyand of Burton: daughter; Kay Landua and husband, James, of Brenham; sister, Rosalie Moehring of Latium; and sister-in-laws Joyce Spies of Waller and Dorothy Spies of Bryan. She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are: Axel Weyand of Fort Hood, Shannon Bullin and her husband, Keith, of Bryan; their children, Bailey Kay and Brad Allen. Surviving also are Matt Lampe and wife, Michelle, of Brenham; their children, Megan Marie and Mason Derek. Three step-grandchildren; Robin Landua, Jennifer (Matt) Marek, and James Landua, Jr. (Meredith) and four step-great-grandchildren also survive her as well as numerous friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers; Glenver Spies and Ledell Spies and two infant children. Eunell loved her day lilies and flowers and watching them grow and bloom. As a rancher, she kept track of the cattle and loved the land. She was generous by nature and enjoyed the many activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was looking forward to the birth of another great-grandchild in December. Eunell enjoyed family get-togethers and lovingly made Christmas ornaments and keepsake boxes for her great-grandchildren. She never complained about her health, although the ravages of vasculitis were apparent at the end. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 3, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Interment will follow at Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top.
