Funeral services for Hortense Z. (Betty) Schultz, 83, wife of Gilbert Lee Schultz, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Industry United Methodist Church, with Rev. Leo Carrasco officiating. Burial will follow in the Industry Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Mrs. Schultz passed away May 1, 2014 at Grimes St. Joseph Hospital in Navasota. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Thomas C. and Sheryl Schultz of Industry, and Rodney and Linda Schultz of Brenham; grandchildren: Tammy and James Johnson, Thomas C. Schultz, Jr. and Bryan Cotton, and Amanda and Jim Weaver; great-grandchildren: Ryan Johnson and Reese Johnson; sisters-in-law Esther Schultz and Viola Weiss, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Reinhardt Schulze; brother Melvin Ziesemer, Elsie and Bill Reich, Erna and Hank Schroeder, Rueben and Erma Ziesemer, brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Billie Ziesemer. Roy Dean Kyle
(February 21, 1943 - April 12, 2012)
Roy Dean Kyle was born on February 21, 1943 in Bisbee, Arizona to Charley & Naomi (Crain) Kyle. He grew up and graduated from high school in Madisonville. Roy was united in marriage to Connie Lehmann on April 3, 1970 in Denver, Colorado. He was a retired machinist and a member of the American Motorcycle Association. He put many miles on motorcycles both on road and off road. He enjoyed playing music, especially his guitar, and volunteered this talent at a local nursing home when he and Connie lived in the Houston area.
Roy passed away the afternoon of Thursday, April 12, 2012 at The Methodist Hospital in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lawrence Kyle and his father-in-law, Clarence Lehmann.
Roy is survived by his wife, Connie Kyle of Bryan; his brother, Kirby & Glenda Kyle of Round Rock; nephew, Jeff & Amy Kyle of Hutto and their children, Mercy, Alyssa, Ethan & Jordan; niece, Lauri & John Berka of Ft. Worth and their children, Joshua & Aaron; mother-in-law, Dorothy Lehmann of Ledbetter; brother-in-law, Larry & Debbie Lehmann of Giddings and their children, Ross Lehmann and Lauren Lehmann both of Austin.
Funeral services will be private.

Willie “Bill” Thaler
Willie “Bill” Thaler, 90, passed away May 1, 2014 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Rehburg, with Pastor Denise Seymour officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Billy and Susie Thaler of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law Diane and Tom Rau of Columbus, Jackie and Raymond Mueller of Brenham, Lois and Jerry Faigle of Waller, Laurie and Roger Jones of Lago Vista, and Sherie Koudelka of Moulton; grandchildren: Cheyne Solesbee, Tyler Rau, Curt Faigle, Greg Faigle, Carl Faigle, Amy Fritz, , Kim Ellison, Jill Lozano, Adam Mueller, Billy Thaler, Jr., and Kristy Knight; great-grandchildren Madison, Cole, Alyssa, Brianna, William, Jack, Drew, and Blake; brother and sister-in-law Raymond and Annie Laurie Thaler of Brenham, sister-in-law Marjorie Ann Thaler of Houston, as well as his good friend, Sara Branch. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding him in death was a brother, Eugene Thaler, and sisters Eloise Whitener and Lunette Roehling. Robert E. Sprenger
Robert E. Sprenger, age 76 of Brenham and the husband of Donna (Henke) Sprenger, passed away Wednesday April 30, 2014 at College Station Medical Center. Mr. Robert Sprenger is survived by: wife Donna Sprenger of Brenham; daughter Cheryl Ann Williamson (Alan); sons Rodney Charles Sprenger, Bryan Mark Sprenger (Lisa), Glenn Lowell Sprenger all of Houston; one granddaughter Nikkole Mari Sprenger; sister Phyllis Mattson; brother George Sprenger (Joanne); sister-in-law Linda Sprenger. The funeral service for Robert E. Sprenger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 in the First United Methodist Church of Brenham with Rev. Jon Stouffer officiating. Ernestine Jahnke Kieke
Our family’s Matriarch, Ernestine Jahnke Kieke, was called to Eternal Life on May 1, 2014, just two months shy of her 99th birthday. She was welcomed to her heavenly home by her husband of 72 years, Fred Andrew Kieke, her parents, August and Fannie Pearl Warden Jahnke, along with her three beloved sisters, Annie Mae Engelage, Louise Stueber Akin and Barbara Joyce Muery. Those who will miss her most are her daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra and Edgar Schwartz and Sharon and Donald Winkelmann, all of Brenham; Naw Kieke will also be missed by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Rebecca, Tim, Madeline, and Caleb Buchanan of Aledo; Tina, Ron, Joshua and Aliyah Ahasan of Spring Branch; Robert, Brandi, Emma and Andrew Schwartz of Brenham; Adrienne, Jerremy, Lydia, Jackson and Brody Guthrie of Seabrook; Chris, Tina, Will, Eric, Alysse, Jordan, Tomas, and Tristan Winkelmann of Boyertown, PA, and Tara, Lamar, and Kayleigh White of The Woodlands. Troy Jene Glasco
Troy Jene Glasco, 52, joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, at the family home, Tara Farms. The family requests casual dress (Troy hated suits), and invites you to join them for a meal and fellowship afterward. Troy was born to the late Albert Jene, ‘AJ’, and Teresa Glasco on September 26, 1961, in Houston, Texas. After graduating Waller High School, he went on to attend Blinn Junior College. Troy was baptized at Waller Baptist Church in 1980. Troy started Glasco & Co. Landscaping in 1980, with just a single push mower and a whole lot of hard work. Since then, he and Tami have grown the company to employ over 70 men and women. Troy always conducted his business as if his work were worship to the Lord, and set a high standard for excellence, integrity, and strong work ethic. He truly cared for and highly respected each and every one of his employees. Troy was also a founding elder of Champion Fellowship. He considered it a high honor to serve and lead in the church, and was passionate about making disciples and equipping others to serve. It was impossible to be around Troy without him sharing about his love for the Lord. He was always looking for ways to bring unity within the churches in Brenham and how we could all serve our community better together. Troy loved the Lord and was truly a man after God’s own heart. His relationship with God, his family, and commitment to serving our community were the most important things in his life. Survivors include his high school sweetheart and bride of almost 33 years, Tami Lynn Glasco; daughter and son-in-law, Tori and Colin Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Haley and Kyle Ogle; daughter and son-in-law, Paige and Nathan Meyer; grandchildren, Luke Gardner, Emmerson Grace, Olivia Kate, Piper Lou, Micah Manning, baby Meyer; mother, Teresa Glasco; brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Julie Glasco; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Traci and Bill Moran; brother-in-law, Daniel Stefka; nephews, Dustin Morgan, Noah Glasco, Daniel Stefka, Jr.; nieces, Kaci Morgan, Carlee Stefka, Julienne Stefka, Abbie Mikolajewski, Chandler Stefka; special friend, JB Wright. Walter Richter
Walter Richter age 91 of Brenham and a resident of Brenham Rest Home went to his heavenly home on Friday, July 25, 2014. Walter served his country in the United States Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge from the Army, Walter came home to work on the family farm. He was employed by Johnny Emshoff doing carpenter work and also worked for Brenham Wholesale for 21 years. Survivors include: sister, Mildred Hendrix of Bryan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Richter of Richmond; nieces, Gail Terry, Ann Reed, and Cheri Blankenship and husband Dean; nephews, Paul Richter, David Hendrix and Glen Hendrix; great-nieces and great nephews, Joe Terry and wife Kathy, Amber Terry, Larry Ray Reed, Bennie Ray Reed, Craig Richter and wife Jennifer, Cody Richter, Chloe Blankenship, Alec Blankenship, and Breck Blankenship; and a host of friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 29th from 5 PM to 7 PM at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services for Walter Richter will be held Wednesday, July 30th at 10 AM in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastor Charles Parnell and Pastor Toby Burk officiating. Timothy Lee Exner
(November 20, 1959 - May 2, 2012)
Funeral services for Timothy Exner, 52 of Manheim, Texas, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim with Rev. Herb Keistman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. The family will be present for visitation Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Timothy Lee Exner was born on November 20, 1959 in Giddings, Texas to Walter "W.O." Oscar & Norma Marie (Toepper) Exner. He was baptized on December 6, 1959 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Paul Stengel and was confirmed on April 7, 1974 at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. Robert Hartfield. Tim attended school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1978. He was united in marriage to Lisa Herklotz on June 21, 1986 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Rudolph Kurz. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Kyle and Sloan. Tim had been employed with Alcoa in Rockdale as a mechanic and certified welder for nearly 30 years. He was currently employed with Lee County as a road hand with Precinct 2. Tim was an active member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder, a member of the Manheim Youth Supporters and was the unofficial mayor of Manheim. He enjoyed ranching, working cattle, hunting, roping, fishing, gardening and helping out and visiting with his friends and neighbors. He was his sons' greatest supporter in their athletic and school activities.
Tim passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin from injuries he received in an accident at his farm.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Exner and his parents-in-law, Jim & Dolores Herklotz.
Tim is survived by his wife, Lisa Exner of Manheim; two sons, Kyle Exner of Huntsville and Sloan Exner of Manheim; father, W.O. Exner of Lexington; two brothers, Rodney & Becky Exner of Lexington and Mickey & Robin Exner of Forest Grove; two brothers-in-law, Lane Herklotz of Huntsville and Shannon & Michelle Herklotz of Lexington; nieces and nephews, Brandon Exner of Lexington, Dustin Exner of Manor, Matthew Exner of Lexington, Ashley & Ryan Priem of McKinney, Rex Herklotz of Huntsville, Brooke Herklotz and Kennedee Herklotz of Lexington; great nephew and great-nieces, Braden Exner and Bailey Exner both of Lexington and Addison Priem of McKinney as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon Exner, Dustin Exner, Matthew Exner, Jimmy Stewart, Russell Schimank, Kyle Kieschnick, Steve Arldt and Bill Woodward. Honorary pallbearers are Tim's former co-workers from Alcoa and his fellow workers with Lee County Precinct 2.
