OKLAHOMA CITY - W.A. 'Bill' Monce, 70, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, at an Oklahoma City hospital.
Services were Saturday, July 4, at the South Colonial Chapel in Oklahoma City with the Rev. Jimmy Harness officiating. Burial was Monday, July 6, in Memory Gardens in Pampa, Texas, under the direction of Vondel L. Smith and Son Mortuary.
Mr. Monce was born May 13, 1928, in Pecos, Texas. He and Ruth Edwards were married Nov. 24, 1965. He attended school in Electra. He was retired from U.S. Steel.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jo Ann Hanretty of Gillette, Wyo., and Linda Williams of Wichita Falls; a stepson, Randy Williams of Texas; two stepdaughters, Elaine White of Pampa and Marilyn Payne of Midland, Texas; a sister, Hazel Henderson of Electra; and three grandchildren.
Lewis P. Gray
BURKBURNETT - Lewis P. Gray, 82, of Burkburnett, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett with the Rev. Tim Russell, pastor of First Baptist Church of Burkburnett, officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery.
Mr. Gray was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Olney in Coal County, Okla. He and Ruby Avery were married May 30, 1937, in Antlers, Okla. She died in 1994. He was employed by civil service from 1942-1962. He was then involved in the investment business. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wynnewood, Okla. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne of The Colony, Texas, and Lewis A. of Raleigh, N.C.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
'Bill' Hitchcock
THROCKMORTON, Texas - William Eugene 'Bill' Hitchcock, 56, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, in his Throckmorton home.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Throckmorton Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Davis, of Snyder, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Merriman-Archer Funeral Home.
Mr. Hitchcock was born Oct. 22, 1941, in Mertzon, Texas. He served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War era. He was a retired backhoe operator. He moved to Throckmorton from Snyder in 1995.
Survivors include a son, Billy Kyle of Burleson, Texas; two daughters, Kelli Thompson of Throckmorton and Tobie Clark of Breckenridge, Texas; his mother, Verdie Powell of Graham, Texas; four sisters, Ada Smith and Doris Mitchell both of Woodson, Texas, Ruthie MacArther of Graham, and Martha Henry of Coahoma, Texas; a brother, Leroy of Coahoma; and four grandchildren.
Harvey L. Rainwater
SEYMOUR, Texas - Harvey L. 'Mousie' Rainwater, 68, of Lubbock, Texas, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, in Lubbock.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Seymour Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Garrett officiating. Burial with military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7871 will be in Bomarton Cemetery.
Mr. Rainwater was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Waco, Texas. He was raised in Bomarton, Texas. He was an oilfield driller for many years, retiring in the 1970s. He was a Baptist. He had lived in Lubbock since 1987. He was a Marine veteran and a member of V.F.W. Post No. 7871.
Survivors include a sister, Opal Rather of Lubbock; and by two brothers, Odell of Bowie, Texas, and Kenneth of Spencer, W.Va.
Lois Louise Ford
Lois Louise Ford, 77, of Wichita Falls, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Gene Varnell and the Rev. Richard Moore officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ford was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Wewoka, Okla. Her husband, Leroy 'Buck' Ford, died Sept. 24, 1997. She had lived in Wichita Falls for 77 years. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Gospel Church, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. A son, Roy Lee, died April 2, 1998.
Survivors include four daughters, Annette Reynolds of Electra and Patsy Tellez, Darlene Rhodes, and Charlene Gates, all of Wichita Falls; two sons, David Wayne and Wesley, both of Wichita Falls; a sister, Frances Smith of Silsby, Texas; a brother, Raymond Crain of Wichita Falls; 19 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7-8 p.m.

Winnie E. Brown
PADUCAH, Texas - Winnie E. Brown, 92, of Paducah, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at a Paducah nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah with Dr. Tilden Armstrong of Paducah officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 24, 1906, in Erath County, Texas. She and Marvin C. Brown were married in 1927. He died in 1961. She had been a resident of Cottle County since 1919. She worked as a nurse and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Paducah.
Survivors include four daughters, Rubye Rodgers and Peggy Harrison, both of Oklahoma City, Jimmye Taylor of Paducah, and Reba Ray of Katmandu, Nepal; four sisters, Erma Franks of Tulia, Texas, and Ruth Cunningham, Wanda Campbell and Lorene Kirkland, all of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Lonnie "Bill" Cornell of Memphis, Texas, and Clarence "Dude" Cornell of Clarendon, Texas; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
Lloyd Hill Howell
WEATHERFORD, Texas - Lloyd Hill Howell, 86, of Graham, Texas, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at a Mineral Wells, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.
Mr. Howell was born March 6, 1912, in Dennis, Texas. He played the fiddle in a band while stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas. He also played in Bewley's Chuck Wagon Band during the 1940-50s.
Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn of Graham; a daughter, Diana Mitchell of Fort Worth; two stepdaughters, Jo Ann Nunley of Snyder, Texas, and Mary Ramsey of Dallas; two brothers, Joe of Weatherford and Leon of Cleburne, Texas; four sisters, Opal Finley of Springtown, Texas and Lorene McKinzie, Cleo Heniganand Nell Alexander, all of Weatherford.
Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Rev. Roger D. Allen
VERNON, Texas – Rev. Roger D. Allen, 30, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at a Wichita Falls nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church of Vernon with the Rev. C.E. Franklin, the Rev. Quinton Burnett, and the Rev. E.J. Tyson officiating. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Rev. Allen was born July 14, 1967, in Plainview, Texas. He was a graduate of Vernon High School and attended Prairie View A & M University, majoring in speech and theatricals. He was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church where he served as assistant pastor and choir director in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was also founder and director of instruments of Praise Choir of Dallas from 1992-1998.
Survivors include his mother, Faye Douglas of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Sharon Holder, Leticia Holder and Saundra Allen all of Wichita Falls; 6 brothers, Altron Holder of Tyler, Texas, Larry Holder and Brint Allen both of Wichita Falls, Morris Holder and Glenn Holder both of Lubbock, Texas, Marvin Holder of Ft. Sill, Okla.; and his grandmother, Lorene Whitten of Lubbock.
The family will be at 513 Texas in Wichita Falls.
Martha Ann Stout
BOWIE, Texas – Martha Ann Stout, 93, of Bowie, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at a Bowie hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Dick Hennings, minister of music of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie.
Mrs. Stout was born May 26, 1905, in Dye Mound, Texas. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Bowie, and the First Assembly of God Church in Bowie. She was the daughter of a Civil War veteran. A son, Wyne Pollard, died in 1952. A daughter, Mary Ruth Pollard, died in 1933.
Survivors include three sons, Odell Pollard of Angleton, Texas, Thomas A. McGlasson of Austin, Texas, and Jerry L. McGlasson of North Richland Hills, Texas; a sister, Mary Key of Wichita Falls; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel Cornell
PADUCAH, Texas – Hazel Madolin Cornell, 81, of Paducah, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at an Abilene hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor, and the Rev. Jeff Utter, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Paducah, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cornell was born April 14, 1917, in Dallas. She and Homer Cornell were married in 1967. He died May 1, 1986. She lived in Cottle County for a number of years, and later lived in San Antonio, Texas, before returning to Paducah in 1962. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired restaurant cook and homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Bruce Earl Cox of Valley View, Texas; two daughters, Margaret Taylor of Northfield, Texas, and Judy Sunday of Paducah; a brother, Andrew Johnson of Weatherford, Texas; three sisters, Viola Wells of Kingsland, Texas, Marcella Richardson of Paducah, and Josephine Bingham of San Juan Bautista, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Marguerite Nancy Miller
VERNON, Texas – Marguerite Nancy Miller, 93, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, in Solomons, Md.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, Okla., under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Miller was born July 29, 1904, in Berwyn, Indian Territory, Okla. She and Dr. Bradford Walter Miller were married in 1928, in New Orleans. He died in 1967. She was a former Wilbarger County librarian and homemaker. She had lived in Vernon from 1937 until 1991 when she moved to Maryland. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Vernon.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Donald Bradford Miller of Lusby, Md.
Bernard F. Wolf
MUENSTER, Texas – Bernard F. Wolf, 89, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at his Muenster residence.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in Muenster with the Rev. Chris Steinle, O.S.A., officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Wolf was born Nov. 22, 1908, in Muenster. He and Agatha Catherine Lueb were married June 20, 1933, in Lindsay, Texas. He worked as a farmer and rancher most of his life and was a member of Sacred Heart Parish.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Julia Klement of McAllen, Texas, and Ginger Kupper of Rockwall, Texas; two sons, James of Decatur, Texas, and Truman of Prosper, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Michael Louise Carroll
IOWA PARK – Michael Louise Carroll, 41, of Iowa Park, died Friday, July 10, 1998, in Iowa Park.
No services are planned.
Mr. Carroll was born Nov. 2, 1956, in Selma, Ala. He was in the Air Force. He had moved to Iowa Park three years ago from Schertz, Texas. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Dylan of Plattsmouth, Neb.; a daughter, Christina Desjardin of Universal City, Texas; a brother, Robert E. of Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Joanne Eaves of Iowa Park; and two grandchildren.
Lena Pearl Baker
VERNON, Texas – Lena Pearl Baker, 90, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, at an Amarillo, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Douglas Hall officiating. Burial will be in Wilbarger Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born May 15, 1908, in Johnson County, Texas. She and Buster Baker were married May 7, 1927, in Crowell, Texas. He died Oct. 11, 1987. She and her late husband farmed and operated and owned a custom harvesting operation. She had been a Wilbarger County resident since 1918. She was a member of Wilbarger Street Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two sons, Joe Carroll in 1995, and Jackie Bob in 1977.
Survivors include three sons, William Buster of Dickinson, Texas, Donald Ray of San Diego and Robert D. of Amarillo; six daughters, Frances Walker of Vernon, Mary Katherine Holden and Carolyn Homer, both of Amarillo, Betty Jean Anderson of Miami, Texas, Imogene Collins of Fort Worth and Judy Norris of Arlington, Texas; and 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7-8 p.m.

Doris Anderson
THROCKMORTON, Texas – Doris Millican Anderson, 79, died Sunday, July 12, 1998, in a Haskell, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Merriman-Archer Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Clark, pastor of the Church of God of Haskell, officiating. Burial will be in Throckmorton Cemetery.
Mrs. Anderson was born July 16, 1917, in Throckmorton County, Texas. She and R.L. Anderson were married June 16, 1933, in Elbert, Texas. He died Aug. 14, 1982. She had lived in Haskell County for 32 years. She was a minister, and had served for 27 years. The last church she served at was the Church of God of Rochester, Texas. She was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn King of Haskell and Gwen Falco of Mesquite, Texas; a son, Robbie Dean of Knox City, Texas; a sister, Lessie Moore of Haskell; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Brianna Marie Losoya
Brianna Marie Losoya, 7-month-old daughter of Domingo Domingo and Cara Losoya of Wichita Falls, died Friday, July 10, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. tonight at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Hector Medina, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Brianna was born Nov. 16, 1997, in Wichita Falls.
Other survivors include two brothers, Domingo Losoya Jr., and Chandler Lowell, both of Wichita Falls; a sister, Gabrilla Losoya of Wichita Falls; and her grandparents; Cam Lowell, Sandra McComis, Debbie Lowell, and Regino Losoya, all of Wichita Falls.

Wayne Edwin Stearns, 65, of Wichita Falls, died Friday, July 10, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Harvey McMurry, pastor of City View Baptist Church, officiating. Burial with full military graveside services will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. Stearns was born March 27, 1933, in Holland, Vt. He served in Korea and was a Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans He was a tech sergeant in the Air Force. He had lived in Wichita Falls for 20 years. He was a Methodist.
Survivors include his mother, Murial Turrnne of East Hartford, Conn.; two sons, Ralph Floyd and Richard Wayne, both of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Debra Lynn Romero and Delores Sue Pickren, both of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a brother, Lyle of East Hartford; a sister, Lorraine Orsini of East Hartford; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Cara ‘Lane’ Fenoglio
NOCONA, Texas – Cara DiLane “Lane” Fenoglio, 15, of Ringgold, Texas, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, in Nocona.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Nocona Middle School Gym with the Rev. Eldon Johnson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Ringgold, and the Rev. Lamoin Champ, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church of Nocona, officiating. Burial will be in Ringgold Cemetery under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home.
Miss Fenoglio was born Feb. 18, 1983, in Henrietta, Texas. She was about to be a sophomore at Nocona High School. She was involved in the Nocona girls sports programs. She was the freshman class favorite and the eighth grade salutatorian at Nocona Junior High. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ringgold.
Survivors include her parents, Larry and Janna Sewell Fenoglio; a brother, Chance of Ringgold; her grandparents, F.T. “Sonny” and Mary Lou Fenoglio of Ringgold, and Don and Mackie Sewell of Nocona; and her great-grandparents, Norma Tanner of Terral, Okla., Mary Jo Simpkins of Nocona and Johnnie McCord of Commerce, Texas.
