Louise L. McGuigan
FORT WORTH -- Louise Lincoln McGuigan, 73, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Phillips Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Mrs. McGuigan was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Monte Vista, Colo. She received her MSSW in 1976 from University of Texas at Arlington. She worked for a number of years as a social worker in Tarrant County MHMR and Family Services Inc. She was a lifetime ACLU supporter and former board member. She was a volunteer for Mid-Cites Care Corps. She was a member of St. Phillips Presbyterian Church in Hurst since 1958 and a lifetime member of Women of the Church. She was instrumental in beginning the Stephen Ministry at St. Phillips and Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a social worker retiring in 1983.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Patrick; two daughters, Janie Ross and Anne Knight, both of Fort Worth; two sisters, H.A. Hawkins Olney, Ill., and Robert Tomlinson of St. Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
James A. Rogers
James A. Rogers, 66, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Tom Lyda, associate at First Christian Church, officiating.
Mr. Rogers was born July 4, 1932, in Burkburnett. He and Bette Morris were married Aug. 30, 1957, in Wichita Falls. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. He was a former accountant and vice president at Beacon Insurance Group for 31 years. He graduated from Midwestern State University in 1957. He was a member of Northwest, Texas, Field and Stream Gun Club. He retired in 1990.
Survivors include his wife, Bette of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Jamie Keel and Shannon Harmon, both of Wichita Falls; two sons, Bradley Allen of California and Charles B. Johnson of Pasadena, Texas; two sisters, Lois Price of Dallas and Barbara Wilkerson of Duncanville, Texas; a brother, J.L. of Friendswood, Texas; and five grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to A.R.E Volunteer Fire Department at lake Arrowhead Ranch Estate.
Clifford W. Meckstroth
Clifford William Meckstroth, 81, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1998, in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Howard Chapman, pastor of Senior Adults First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. Meckstroth was born April 1, 1917, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the Army during World War II as a pilot. He was a used car manager for Longhorn Chevrolet and Joe Pistocco for 35 years. He had lived in Wichita Falls since 1944.
Survivors include his wife, Jane of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Suzanne Cobelle of Dallas; a son, Michael of McAlister, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6-7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Catherine Holloway
IOWA PARK -- Catherine Mary Fay Halloway, 82, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Highland Cemetery with the Rev. Patrick Burke, pastor of Christ The King Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holloway was born June 6, 1917, in Quincy, Mass. She and John Edward Holloway were married Sept. 30, 1944, in Norfolk, Va. He died in 1996. She was a homemaker and a member of Christ The King Catholic Church. She was a resident of Iowa Park since 1979 coming from Honolulu.
Survivors include two daughters, Katei Faulkingham of Iowa Park and Fay Leong of Honolulu; a brother, Donald Fay of Easton, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

Joe Pershing Gilbert
Joe Pershing Gilbert, 80, of Wichita Falls died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michael Miller officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.
Mr. Gilbert was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Carbon, Texas. He and Josephine Bunsh were married May 30, 1943, in Corsicana, Texas. He served in the Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945 achieving the rank of first class petty officer. He was a member of the Good Sam Travel Club and a active member of Wesley United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. He had worked for Texas Sash and Door of Fort Worth for more than 30 years and Shamburger Building Center of Wichita Falls for 10 years. He had lived in Wichita Falls since 1951. He was a graduate of McMurry College of Abilene, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Lon and James Bryan, both of Wichita Falls; a brother, Charles Wade of St. Charles, Miss.; and six grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 3-4 p.m. Sunday.
The family will be at 2414 Barbados Drive in Wichita Falls or 2612 Bretton in Wichita Falls.

Jody Posey Richardson
Jody Posey Richardson, 73, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, in her residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Brownsfield, pastor of Faith Baptist Churchm, officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Colorado City Cemetery in Colorado City, Texas.
Mrs. Richardson was born Nov. 3, 1925, in Colorado City, Texas. She and Sam Smartt Richardson were married Aug. 29, 1942, in Big Springs, Texas. He died in 1996. She had worked as deputy clerk in the Tax Collector Office from 1953-1961. She had worked as office manager at car dealerships in Minland, Wichita Falls, Dallas and Fort Worth. She was a Baptist. She had lived in Wichita Falls since 1986 coming from Fort Worth.
Survivors include a daughter, Sammye Jo Waldrip of Wichita Falls; two sons, Terry Lee of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Tommy Ray of Fort Worth; a sister, Jerry Strain of Colorado City, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home for visitation following the services.

Wendell Pierce Griffis
SAINT JO, Texas -- Wendell Pierce Griffis, 89, of Saint Jo died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, in a Nocona hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo with C.E. Cole officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Griffis was born Nov. 17, 1909, in Cooke County, Texas. He and Carmen Jo Harwood were married Dec. 23, 1969, in Saint Jo. She died July 1, 1991. He was a farmer and a construction worker. He was raised in the Saint Jo area and returned to his home town 40 years ago. He was a Mason and a body builder with an exercise and running program. He won body building contests and was in some movies as a body builder. He was a amateur wrestler in his early years. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Vinnie of Dallas; two sisters, Doris Adrian of Saint Jo, and Margaret Hovis of Lawton, Okla.; four brothers, Hulen of Saint Jo, Tilford of Harlingen, Texas, David and Bobby both of Wichita Falls; and two grandchildren.
Leon Bond
VERNON, Texas – Leon Bond, 72, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, in a Shattuck, Okla. hospital.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Teusday in Eastview Cemetery with the Rev. David Fox, of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mr. Bond was born May 28, 1926, in Dugginsville, Mo. He and Lova Veal Hudgens were married Aug. 31, 1977, in Amarillo, Texas. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a retired auto body worker. He lived in Vernon from 1977 until 1988 when he moved to Gage, Okla. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Enid, Okla.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Johnny of Arlington, Texas, and Jerry of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Jolene Turner of Mountain Home, N.C.; a brother, Orville of Dewey, Okla.; two sisters, Mattie Purcella of Farmington, N.M., and Loraine Pritchard of Clovis, N.M.; two step-children, Sandra Hargerman of Vernon, and Sam Hudgens of Lancaster, Texas; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Golden Wings Hospice Foundation.
The family will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday.

Marjorie McAfee
WINNSBORO, Texas -- Marjorie McAfee, 68, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Beaty Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Suche officiating. Burial will be in Lee Cemetery.
Miss McAfee was born July 28, 1930, in Winnsboro. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Winnsboro Historical Society. She helped with the restoration of the Rock Gym of Wnnsboro and was a former employee of Andrews Independent School District.
Survivors include a nephew, Don McAfee of Leesburg, Texas; and three nieces, Pat Lincoln and Frances Slack, both of Wichita Falls and Barbara Stevens of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Luther Raybourne
IOWA PARK – Luther Raybourne, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, in a Wichita Falls hospice center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Dr. Greg Ammons, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.
Mr. Raybourne was born Feb. 26, 1915, in Kreole, Miss. He and Judy Barnhart were married Jan. 28, 1942, in Lebanon, Ohio. He was a construction foreman for Wagner Smith Construction Co. and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8066 in Eaton, Ohio and of the Labor Contractors Union of Dayton, Ohio. A son, Robert L., died in 1981. Another son, John V., died in 1946. He had lived in Iowa Park for 20 years, moving from West Alexandria, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judie Morgan of Kamay and Susan Carroll of Iowa Park; a sister, Irene Southam of Eaton; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today.
