Lorraine Anderson
MANGUM, Okla. – Lorraine Anderson, 76, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in a Mangum hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bonnie Ralph Reed officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Funeral Service.
Mrs. Anderson was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Pauls Valley, Okla. She and Kenneth Vernal Anderson were married Sept. 25, 1937, in Anadarko, Okla. He died in 1991. She had lived in Magnum since 1951. She worked in retail at Smith’s Style Shop and was co-owner of K-Lock Tool Box Company. She was a member of the Birthday Club and the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Harold of Wichita Falls and Murl of Grand Junction, Colo.; a sister, Cubby (Ineta) Dollarhide of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 228 North Oklahoma, Mangum, Okla., or the American Cancer Society.
Edna Mae Fisher
QUANAH, Texas – Edna Mae Fisher, 98, of Quanah, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at a Hardeman County hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church with Lesley Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Price-Jackson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fisher was born June 12, 1900, in Tupelo, Miss. She and Ruben E. Fisher were married in 1919 in Avery, Texas. He died Jan. 29, 1971. She was a longtime resident of Quanah. She was a retired nurse and a member of the First Baptist Church. A son, Eugene, died Nov. 7, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Fisher of Quanah; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Memorials may be made to the Quanah Memorial Hospital Fund.
Cliff C. Hyatt
LUBBOCK, Texas – Cliff C. Hyatt, 72, of Lubbock, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998, in a Seymour, Texas, hospital.
Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, at W.W. Rix Chapel with the Rev. Jay Beyer officiating. Burial was in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Rix Funeral Directors.
Mr. Hyatt was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He and Vergie McNeely were married May 15, 1947, in Clovis, N.M. He served in the U.S. Navy and was on board the USS Gosselin (APD-126). He owned and operated Just Rite Plumbing. He was a Scout Master for Troop No. 157 and No. 159 and earned the Wood Badge. He was a volunteer at the Lubbock Lake Landmark and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Darwin and Sherman both of Lubbock, and Zachary of Kailua, Hawaii; three sisters, Floy Woods of Sulphur Springs, Ruby Peterson of Lubbock, and Irene Peel of McKinney, Texas; and two granddaughters.

Jonnie Green Heatly
PADUCAH, Texas – Jonnie Green Heatly, 82, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in her Paducah residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at First Christian Church of Paducah with the Rev. Steve Hinton of Fort Worth officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Heatly was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Burkburnett. Her husband, William S. ‘Bill’ Heatly, a State representative from 1954-1982 and chairman of House Appropriations Committee for several terms, died Feb. 25, 1984. She was a resident of Wichita Falls before moving to Paducah in 1948. She was a member of First Christian Church of Paducah and involved in Paducah civic and state civic affairs. A son, Stan, died July 7, 1995.
Survivors include two sons, Gene of Vernon, Texas, and Bill of Paducah; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Paducah Cemetery Association or the First Christian Church of Paducah.
Dub Dierke
RIO RANCHO, N.M. – Dub Dierke, 41, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, at a local hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fine Arts Building at Rio Rancho High School, 301 Loma Colorado Road, with the Rev. Ted Dotts officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rio Rancho Funeral Home.
Mr. Dierke was born Oct. 6, 1956. He and Marie Ann Vokes were married Jan. 2, 1982, in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Bishop, Texas, High School in 1974 and from Texas Tech University in 1978. He earned his MBA from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, Texas. He moved from Lubbock 10 years ago. He was employed by Intel as a Corporate College Recruiting Manager and FAB 9 Start-Up Engineer. He was an Intel University Instructor, Jonah with Goldratt Institute, formerly the manufacturing manager of Texas Instruments in Lubbock, a YDI (Youth Development) sponsor and formerly owned Electro Polish of Albuquerque. He was involved in the United Way at Intel and was a chase crew member with the Albuquerque Balloon Federation.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Connie Dierke Sr.; a sister, Katy Duncan; and a brother, Charles.
The family will be at the funeral home today from 1-4 p.m.

Sarah Lucille Royall
CHILDRESS, Texas – Sarah Lucille Nippert Royall, 91, of Childress, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Flower Mound, Texas.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Sims, a Baptist minister of Childress, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery.
Mrs. Royall was born July 28, 1907, in Kirkland, Texas. She and L.V. Royall were married March 20, 1938. He died Nov. 3, 1984. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Childress and Kirkland and Childress Home Demonstration Club. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Childress.
Survivors include a daughter, Lu King of Lewisville, Texas; a sister, Alice Sharp of Wichita Falls; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Mary Belle Crockett
GRANDFIELD, Okla. – Mary Belle McClellan Crockett, 92, of Frederick, Okla., died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in a Grandfield nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Grandfield with the Rev. Joseph Albrecht officiating. Burial will be in Frederick Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gray Funeral Home.
Mrs. Crockett was born March 10, 1906, in Safford, Kan. She and James David Crockett were married April 3, 1925. He died June 30, 1961. She moved to Loveland in 1907, where she graduated from high school. She attended Central State College at Edmond, Okla. She taught school in Tillman County for seven years, and was employed by the Department of Institutions, Social and Rehabilitative Service for 25 years. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Frederick. A son, Truman, died March 1991.
Survivors include two sons, Ted of Grandfield and Charles of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Maxine Gossett of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Priscilla Puckett Holmes
Priscilla Puckett Holmes, 60, of Hot Springs, Ark., died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in a Hot Springs hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lunn’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Ivor Koch, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Ms. Holmes was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Wichita Falls. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1955. She attended Baylor University, Fairfax Hall in Virginia, and Santa Barbara School of Music. She had a brief movie career. She moved to Hot Springs in 1994.
Survivors include a son, William Randolph Smith of Houston; a daughter, Michelle Smith of Fort Worth; a brother, Robert Moore Puckett of Wichita Falls; and three grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 6-7 p.m.
Grace Adell King
Grace Adell Ewing King, 86, of Wichita Falls died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Megargel, Texas, Cemetery with Harvey McQueen, minister of Megargel Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. King was born July 17, 1912, in Olney, Texas. Her husband, Vaughter J. King, died in 1965. She was raised in the Megargel area, moving to the Dallas area in 1965. She retired in 1979 as a postmaster for the Post Office of Copeville, Texas. She was a volunteer at the McKinney, Texas, hospital, and a member of the Farmersville, Texas, Garden Club. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Louise Pope of Farmersville; two sons, Joseph Christopher and James Edward, both of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home this afternoon from 5-6 p.m.
Wesley ‘Bud’ Gibbons
Wesley H. ‘Bud’ Gibbons, 76, of Lakeside City, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Holliday, Texas, First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Darryl Sewell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Gibbons was born Sept. 26, 1921, in Wood County, Texas. He served with the Air Force during World War II. He retired after 29 years, in 1973, as a cable tool driller with Expando Production Company. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Gibbons of Lakeside City; a daughter, Jana Tucker of Lakeside City; a son, David of Shreveport, La.; a brother, Lewis of Lubbock, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Holliday, Texas, First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Jean Davis
Jean Davis, 71, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in her Wichita Falls residence.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Louie Carver, pastor of Central Baptist Church, the Rev. William Etheredge and the Rev. Robert Wright, pastor of Pecanway Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Davis was born Feb. 13, 1927, in Wichita Falls. She was retired from McBride Land & Cattle Company and Henry On’s Ding How Restaurant. She was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls and a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; Albert D. Davis of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Dona Jean Giles of Palestine, Texas, and Levada Jean Davis of Garland, Texas; two brothers, Willard A. McFerrin of Wichita Falls and James Leroy McFerrin of Bowie, Texas; a sister, Mary Lou Sudberry of Abilene, Texas; and one granddaughter.

Metcha Evans-Fortner
Metcha Gail Evans-Fortner, 46, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, in her Wichita Falls residence.

Mrs. Evans-Fortner was born Feb. 7, 1952, in Sacramento, Calif. She was a homemaker and a longtime resident of Wichita Falls.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Fortner of Wichita Falls; a son, William Cardenas of Arlington, Texas; four daughters, Carla Hassell, Toni Halady, Melissa Gresham and Diana Finnell, all of Wichita Falls; a brother, Michael January of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Carol Shur of Gordon, Texas, Connie Merrell and Diana Bordreaux, both of Wichita Falls; and seven grandchildren.

HENRIETTA, Texas – Kenneth ‘Dobber’ Stewart, 68, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in his Henrietta residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Davis Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta.
Mr. Stewart was born June 3, 1931, in Fisher County, Texas. He and Florence Hohenstein were married July 28, 1949, in Henrietta. He was retired from the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation as a maintenance technician. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen R. of Wichita Falls and Dennis R. of Henrietta; a daughter, Connie Joyce Peck of Henrietta; two brothers, James E. Stewart Jr. and Clyde R., both of Henrietta; eight grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7-8:30 p.m.

Jean Winn Staley
Jean Winn Staley, 83, of Wichita Falls, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Mike Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Staley was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Frederick, Okla. She and Marcus E. ‘Gene’ Staley were married Oct. 22, 1938, in Waurika, Okla. She was a clerk for the Wichita Falls Independent School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 55 years, a past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, and a Sponsor of the Patrol for the Daughters of the Nile. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1936 from Belcherville, Texas.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Beverly Mayberry of Wylie, Texas, and Betty Taylor of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home this afternoon from 4-5 p.m.

QUANAH, Texas – Cleva Owen Richmond, 67, of Quanah died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in a Hardeman County hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of Christ with J.B. Lamb of Hilltop Lakes, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Goodlett Cemetery under the direction of Price-Jackson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richmond was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Hardeman County. She and Bob Richmond were married in 1951. She was a longtime resident of Quanah and was a school teacher. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Charles of Moore, Okla.; a daughter, Robyn Knight of Lubbock, Texas; four sister, Billye McKaskle, Norma Fay Jackson, Dorothy Goss and Robbie Hurt, all of Quanah; a brother, Clifford Owen of Tuscon, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.

NOCONA, Texas – LeShaya Ann Coleman, 5, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, in her Berryville, Ark., residence.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Nocona Cemetery with the Rev. Clifford Anderson of Duncan, Okla., officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
LaShaya was born Dec. 7, 1992, in Nocona. She attended pre-kindergarden in Nocona. She was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include her father, Brad Coleman of Nocona; her mother, Tammy Gehring of Berryville; her stepfather, Lynn Gehring of Berryville; two sisters, Shy Coleman of Bowie, Texas, and Robyn Gehring of Berryville; a brother, Bradford Coleman Jr. of Berryville; her grandparents, Beauford Carson of Nocona, Patsy Basaldua of Nocona and James F. Miller of Nocona; and her great-grandmother, Bernice Pennington of Nocona.
Junia Irene Ketchum
PADUCAH, Texas – Junia Irene Ketchum, 86, of Paducah died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in a Kingsland, Texas, nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of Paducah with the Rev. Jeff Utter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ketchum was born Sept. 11, 1911, in Soper, Okla. She and Edward C. Ketchum were married May 9, 1932, in Hugo, Okla. He died in 1979. She moved to Paducah from Guthrie, Texas, in 1968. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paducah. A daughter, Alice Major, died in 1987.
Survivors include two sons, Edward C. Ketchum Jr. of Tyler, Texas, and Thomas W. of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Elizabeth June Lindsey of Kingsland, Texas, Elizabeth Marler of Stillwater, Okla., and Mona L. Zehner of Spring, Texas; a sister, Pauline Williams of Soper, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mamie Roberts
PADUCAH, Texas – Mamie Willingham Roberts, 92, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in her Paducah residence.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah with Rick Popejoy, minister of Paducah Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roberts was born Nov. 12, 1905, in Wedowee, Ala. She and Homer Roberts were married July 24, 1925, in Paducah. He died in 1969. She moved to Cottle County in 1920. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Lavelle Whatley of Vega, Texas, and Sue Rusihin of Paducah; a brother, Ewell Willingham of Duncan, Okla.; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
