CROWELL, Texas Michael Ray Forrest, 47, died Friday, August 7, 1998, in a Vernon, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Womack-Manard Funeral Home with the Rev. Steven Brooks, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Crowell, officiating. Burial will be in Crowell Cemetery.
Mr. Forrest was born Aug. 8, 1950, in Wichita, Kan. He and Shayne Garrett were married Aug. 2, 1997, in Crowell. He served in the Marine Corps where he was a corporal E-4. He served during the Vietnam Conflict. He received the National Defense Service Medal: Vietnamese Service Medal with one star, the Vietnamese Commendation Medal with Device Combat Action Ribbon, and the RVNMUC Cross of Gallantry with palm and frame. He was a longtime resident of Wichita until recently moving to Texas. He worked for Boeing Aircraft Company for 12 years and was a sub-contractor for the aircraft industry for the past year. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wichita.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Michelle and Sheila Forrest both of Wichita; two sons, Shawn of Wichita and Shannon of Lenexus, Kan.; a stepdaughter, Laura Krause of Gordonville, Texas; three stepsons, Jason Mechell of Wichita Falls, Tanner Dean and Daniel Dean, both of Vernon; a brother, Larry of Wichita; two sisters, Marsha Hockman and Rebecca Wilson, both of Wichita; and six grandchildren.
Ronald L. Bell
DALLAS Ronald L. Bell, 49, of Carrollton, Texas, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Carrollton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sparkman-Dickey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park.
Mr. Bell was born Nov. 25, 1948, in Paris, Texas. He had survived a bone marrow transplant five years ago and was waiting for a liver transplant.
Survivors include his wife; Susan McDaniel; a son, Jeffrey M.; his parents, Don and Patsy Bell; a sister, Jackie Spragins of Wichita Falls; and one grandson.
The family will be at the funeral home today from 3-5 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Baylor University Medical Center Transplant Unit.
Chalmer C.E. White
OLNEY, Texas Chalmer C.E. White, 78, of Olney, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1998, in an Olney hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Lunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Williams, of Arlington, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. White was born March 11, 1920, in Calvin, Okla. He and Laura White were married July 27, 1946, in Merkel, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a retired masonry contractor. He moved to Olney in 1992 from Lubbock, Texas. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Olney.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Walters of Lubbock and Gail Johnson of North Richland Hills, Texas; a brother, J.D. of Mississippi; three sisters, Gladys Edison of Illinois, Odessa Cox of Cisco, Texas, and Pauline Sanford of California; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Jerry Dale Carter
Jerry Dale Carter, 59, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in his Wichita Falls home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Charlie, Texas, Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Smith, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter was born March 14, 1939, in Petrolia, Texas. He served with the Army. He was a boat mechanic and a former Baptist minister. He was a member of the American Legion in Archer City, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; Kaye of Wichita Falls; three sons, Joe Paul of Olympic, Wash., Carlton Dale of Mabank, Texas, and Brian Keith Kinnett of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Carolyn Richardson of Port Aransas, Texas, and Sabrina Kinnett of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Earnest Miller of Houston, Roscoe Miller of Walters, Okla., and Jimmy Miller of Olney, Texas; a sister, Viola Howard of Olden, Texas; and five grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7-8 p.m.
Russell Metcalfe Sr.
Russell Farnaby Metcalfe, Sr., 96, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with David Sabine officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Northlawn Cemetery in Peninsula, Ohio.
Mr. Metcalfe was born Nov. 15, 1901, in Roscoe, Pa. His wife, Leona Purchis Metcalfe, died Oct. 3, 1997. He moved from Lansing, Mich., to Akron, Ohio, in 1946, where he lived in Akron and Cuyahoga Falls for 45 years. He retired in 1983 from B.F. Goodrich and Gil-Mac as a quality control inspector. He was the music director at Akron First Church of the Nazarene and served on various boards and committees for the church. He traveled with his wife as a song evangelist. He was the church treasurer for many years. He moved to Texas in 1991. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Wichita Falls.
Survivors include a son, Russell Metcalfe Jr. of Boston; a daughter, Ruth Edwards of Iowa Park; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home tonight from 7-8 p.m.
Rita McKee
Rita McKee, 52, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Downtown Chapel with the Rev. Harvey McCurry, pastor of City View Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, officiating.
Mrs. McKee was born May 7, 1946, in Wichita Falls, where she was a lifetime resident. She was a nurse and a Baptist.
Survivors include her mother, Hellen Pettyjohn of Muskogee, Okla.; her husband; Dennis of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Karen Lockett of Oklahoma City; two sons, Russell Buffington and Jason McKee, both of Wichita Falls; a sister, Tollie Pettyjohn of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Mike Pettyjohn of Muskogee; and two granddaughters.

HENRIETTA, Texas Kenneth Dobber Stewart, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in his Henrietta residence.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Davis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Slate, of Duncan, Okla., and the Rev. Raymond Payne, pastor of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta.
Mr. Stewart was born June 3, 1931, in Fisher County, Texas. He and Florence Hohenstein were married July 28, 1949, in Henrietta. He was retired from the Texas Department of Highways and Public Transportation as a maintenance technician. He was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen R. of Wichita Falls and Dennis R. of Henrietta; a daughter, Connie Joyce Peck of Henrietta; two brothers, James E. Stewart Jr. and Clyde R., both of Henrietta; eight grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Dessie Mabel Coffey
COMANCHE, Okla. Dessie Mabel Coffey, 91, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in a Comanche, Okla., nursing home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Comanche with Alvis Edmondson and David Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home.
Mrs. Coffey was born Nov. 4, 1906, in what is now Oklahoma. She and Ed Coffey were married in 1928 in the Diamond community. She was a Baptist and a past Sunday school teacher at Fair Baptist Church. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Homemakers Club.
Survivors include a son, Jimmie of Cresson, Texas; a brother, Levi Nelson of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Zelma Jennings of Duncan, Okla., and Sammie Bean of Wichita Falls; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home today from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Cleva Owen Richmond
QUANAH, Texas Cleva Owen Richmond, 67, of Quanah died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in a Quanah, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ with J.B. Lamb of Hilltop Lakes, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Goodlett, Texas, Cemetery under the direction of Price-Jackson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Richmond was born Sept. 19, 1930, in Goodlett. She and Bob Richmond were married Jan. 5, 1952, in McAllen, Texas. He died March 25, 1975. She was a longtime resident of Quanah and was a teacher. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Charles of Moore, Okla.; a daughter, Robyn Knight of Lubbock, Texas; four sister, Billye McKaskle, Norma Fae Jackson, Dorothy Goss and Robbie Hurt, all of Quanah; a brother, Clifford Owen of Tuscon, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
Algerine Churchman
COMANCHE, Okla. Algerine Catherine Churchman, 80, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in a Duncan, Okla., hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Corum Baptist Church with Bruce Humphries and Bo Blakey officiating. Burial will be in Hastings, Okla., Cemetery under the direction of Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home.
Mrs. Churchman was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Hastings. Her husband, E.C. Skeet Churchman, died December 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of Corum Extension Homemakers Club.
Survivors include two sons, James of Comanche and Ron of Dallas; a daughter, Joyce Curran of Oklahoma City; a sister, Lou Dean of Vernon, Texas; four brothers, Dorvin Garison of Hastings, Preston Garison of Sacramento, Calif., Gerald Garison of Waurika, Okla., and Jack Garison of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Bill Himstedt Sr.
DALLAS Bill Himstedt Sr., 61, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998.
Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Huntsville, Texas.
Mr. Himstedt was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Wichita Falls. He retired from Southwestern Bell in 1985 and was recently employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacy L. Wilhite; a son, Billy Himstedt Jr.; a brother, Fred Himstedt; a sister, Tillie Himstedt; and three grandchildren.
Rosemma White
Rosemma White, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, in her Wichita Falls home.
No services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. White was born June 27, 1919, in Pittsburgh, Penn. She was a retired manager at GNC and had lived in Wichita Falls for 16 years.
Survivors include a son, John B. White Jr. of Laramie, Wyo.; and a granddaughter.
Alma L. Nulty
FREDERICK, Okla. - Alma Lorene Nulty, 78, of Decatur, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in a Howard, Kan., nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Burkhardt Chapel of Frederick Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Gish Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nulty was born Aug. 15, 1919, in Decatur. She and L.B. Nulty were married in March of 1968 in Wichita Falls. He died in 1984. She attended Decatur schools. She was a member of City View Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Burkburnett.
Survivors include a son, Larry Mitchell of Elk City, Kan.; a sister, Jewel Collett of Houston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

IOWA PARK - Thelma Irene Ginn Ferguson, 82, of Iowa Park died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in Wichita Falls.

Mrs. Ferguson was born Sept. 5, 1915, in Paducah, Texas. She and John Ferguson were married Feb. 4, 1946, in Floydada, Texas. He died March 10, 1986. She had lived in Iowa Park for 40 years and was a former resident of Jolly, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was a member of Dorcas Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny of Olney, Texas, and Tommy of Garland, Texas; a daughter, Donna Myers of Iowa Park; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Frank P. 'Sarge' Jircik
HASKELL, Texas - Frank P. "Sarge" Jircik, 80, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998, in a Burleson, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Turner and Dr. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.
Mr. Jircik was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Rosenburg, Texas. He and Bonnell Bailey on July 4, 1939, in Huntsville, Texas. He retired from the Department of Public Safety-Highway Patrol Division in 1980 after 39 years of service. He was a Baptist, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 862, and was active with the Haskell Teenage Baseball Program from 1960-80, winning the state championship in 1975.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Hickman of Stanford, Texas; two sons, Dr. Frank P. Jircik Jr. of Fort Worth, and Herbert E. Polgue of Pasadena, Texas; a brother, Jerry Jircik of Alvin, Texas; four sisters, Lilly Lindsey of Tulsa, Okla., Martha Ernst of Carlsbad, Calif., and Marie Strahan and Betty Coon, both of Pasadena; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Ray V. Oliphant
HASKELL, Texas - Ray V. Oliphant, 95, of Haskell died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Herricks officiating. Burial was in Willow Cemetery under the direction of Holden-McCauley Funeral Home.
Mr. Oliphant was born in 1903 in Bell County, Texas. He worked as a truck driver and in agriculture for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church for more than 80 years, joining at the age of 10. He was a lifetime resident of Haskell. His wife, Willamet Johnson, died in January of 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Sallie Camp of Colorado City, Texas, and Jane Reeder of Clay Pool, Ariz.; a son, John F. of Perris, Calif.; three sisters, Elsie McGee of Haskell, Bennie Ammons of Pampa, Texas, and Nora Ammons of Brownfield, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

HENRIETTA, Texas - Edward Moser, 94, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in his Hurnville, Texas, home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Henrietta, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Moser was born Oct. 13, 1903, in Hurnville. He and Annie Lena Wiest were married Dec. 23, 1923, in Petrolia, Texas. He was a farmer. For the last five years at the Clay County Pioneer Reunion, he and his wife had received the award for the couple married the longest and in 1997 they received the oldest native son and daughter award. A son, Paul Leonard, died Jan. 24, 1988. A son, Herman Lee, died Aug. 12, 1995.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Al and Bobby, both of Henrietta; four daughters, Ida Brown, Mary Faye Lambiotte and Ela Mae Davis, all of Wichita Falls, and Clara Nuegebauer of Henrietta; a sister, Maggie Fuhrman of Wichita Falls; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jean Winn Staley, 83, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Mike Blaylock officiating. Burial was in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Staley was born Dec. 10, 1914, in Frederick, Okla. She and Marcus E. 'Gene' Staley were married Oct. 22, 1938, in Waurika, Okla. She was a clerk for the Wichita Falls Independent School District. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 55 years, a past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, and a Sponsor of the Patrol for the Daughters of the Nile. She moved to Wichita Falls in 1936 from Belcherville, Texas.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Beverly Mayberry of Wylie, Texas, and Betty Taylor of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Crippled Children's Hospital or the Shriner Children's Burn Center.
Maxine Russell
Maxine Russell, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Dingmore, pastor of Fairway Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Russell was born July 6, 1925, in Electra. She was a buyer for shoe sales at Perkins-Timberlake Department Store. She was a member of Fairway Baptist Church, Red Door Clowns and the Wichita Wagons Chapter of Good Sams Club.
Survivors include her husband, Dale of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Sharyn Ribnick of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sons, Charles of Sugarland, Texas, and Gary of Wichita Falls; a sister, Shirley Golladay of Duncan, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
