SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas - E.J. "Don" Young, 67, of Sulphur Springs died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in a Hopkins County hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Malcolm King officiating. Masonic graveside services with full military honors conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8560 will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Highland Cemetery.
Mr. Young was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Electra. He and Dale Finch were married July 21, 1973, in Iowa Park. He was retired from the Navy. He was a Baptist, a lifetime member of VFW Post No. 8560, American Legion Post No. 243 in Mt. Vernon, Texas, and Masonic Lodge No. 1158 in Wichita Falls. He was a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife; and a brother, David C. of Fort Worth.
Chad Henry Rivers
SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. - Chad Henry Rivers, 25, of Satellite Beach died Saturday, Aug. 8, 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beach Funeral Home in Satellite Beach.
Mr. Rivers was born in Wichita Falls. He was a graduate of Eau Gallie High School, where he played football. He was a former Boy Scout. He attended Marshall University in Missouri and was a heavy equipment operator. He moved to Florida from Wichita Falls in 1991.
Survivors include his father, Charles C. of Satellite Beach; his mother, Jo Ann of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Janice Williams and Deborah Miller, both of Burkburnett, and Cinci of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Danny of Tyler, Texas, Charles R. of Burkburnett and Jimmy of Wichita Falls; and his grandmother, Mary Barrett of Wichita Falls.
Alice Phillips
Alice Phillips, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 1998, in Denver.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jackson Memorial Church of God in Christ with Leroy Cleaver officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Young & Company Funeral Home.
Mrs. Phillips was born Oct. 8, 1912, in Paris, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ in Denver. She moved to Wichita Falls from Paris 30 years ago. Her husband, Chink Phillips, died in May of 1984.
Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Jones of Dallas.
The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Florence Alexander at 111 Paradise.
Morgan Ailey
Morgan Ailey, 93, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Greater Miracle Church of God in Christ with Bishop Alfred Ailey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Ailey was born Feb. 12, 1906, in Rockdale, Texas. He had worked for Cruse Tire Co. and as a custodian for Kirby Junior High School. He was a member of the Greater Miracle Church of God in Christ and the Masonic Lodge. He had lived in Wichita Falls for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Helen of Wichita Falls; four sons, Allen, Alfred and Bryant, all of Wichita Falls, and Johnny of Mansfield, Texas; three daughters, Helen Dollard of Warner Robins, Ga., and Erma Ailey and LaShawn Green, both of Wichita Falls; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. today for visitation.
Irene Anna Young
Irene Anna Young, 101, of Holliday, Texas, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Graveside services will be at noon Thursday in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Mo. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Young was born June 2, 1897, in Aurora. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Buford H. Young, died in November 1980.
Survivors include two grandsons, B. Allen Young and Roger V. Young, both of St. Paul, Minn.; and several nieces and nephews.
Clifford Looney
BURKBURNETT - Clifford Looney, 67, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in Randlett, Okla.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Abundant Life Church of God in Burkburnett with the Rev. Anthony West, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Randlett Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
Mr. Looney was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Madill, Okla. He and Joan Swiney were married March 18, 1963. He was a farmer and a member of the Assembly of God Church. He lived most of his life in Randlett.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Donna Nixon and Tammy, both of Randlett; a son, Duane of Randlett; three brothers, Lester and Chester, both of Randlett, and Eugene of Madill; four sisters, Christine of Bennington, Okla., Hazel Manley of Randlett, Wilma Buckaloo of Madill and Linda Robinson of Wichita Falls; and a grandson.
Merle O. Laisure
GRAHAM, Texas - Merle O. Laisure, 85, of Graham died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Graham hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Morrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Edgar Jones and Billy Dan Wadley, both of Graham, officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
Mr. Laisure was born Jan. 30, 1913, in Parsons, Kan. He and Pauline Hannon were married Oct. 16, 1967, in Durant, Okla. She died Aug. 5, 1974. He and Emma Williams were married Feb. 20, 1975, in Graham. He was a veteran of World War II and was a longtime resident of Graham. He was the former owner of Bill's Barbeque in Graham and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, Lois Ainsworth of Graham; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Maxine Russell
Maxine Russell, 73, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Dingmore, pastor of Fairway Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Russell was born July 6, 1925, in Electra. She was a buyer for shoe sales at Perkins-Timberlake Department Store. She was a member of Fairway Baptist Church, Red Door Clowns and the Wichita Wagons Chapter of Good Sams Club.
Survivors include her husband, Dale of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Sharyn Ribnick of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two sons, Charles of Sugarland, Texas, and Gary of Wichita Falls; a sister, Shirley Golladay of Duncan, Okla.; and four grandchildren.

Enrique C. Ramirez Sr.
HUMBLE, Texas - Enrique C. "Henry" Ramirez Sr., 69, died July 8, 1998, in Houston.
Burial with full military honors was in Houston National Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
Mr. Ramirez and Isidora Franco were married Jan. 20, 1968, in Wichita Falls. He retired from the Air Force at Sheppard Air Force Base in 1967 as a master sergeant after 21 years. He moved to Houston in 1968 and in 1972, he began a 17-year career with the National Weather Service. He returned to Wichita Falls in 1980. He retired in February of 1989 and moved back to Houston.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Enrique C. Ramirez Jr.; three daughters, Arlene Patterson, Jeanette Villamor and Jo Ann De La Cruz; and 13 grandchildren.
Edward Moser
HENRIETTA, Texas - Edward Moser, 94, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in his Hurnville, Texas, home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Henrietta, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Moser was born Oct. 13, 1903, in Hurnville. He and Annie Lena Wiest were married Dec. 23, 1923, in Petrolia, Texas. He was a farmer. For the last five years at the Clay County Pioneer Reunion, he and his wife had received the award for the couple married the longest and in 1997 they received the oldest native son and daughter award. A son, Paul Leonard, died Jan. 24, 1988. A son, Herman Lee, died Aug. 12, 1995.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Al and Bobby, both of Henrietta; four daughters, Ida Brown, Mary Faye Lambiotte and Ella Mae Davis, all of Wichita Falls, and Clara Neugebauer of Henrietta; a sister, Maggie Fuhrman of Wichita Falls; 17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Forrest Starnes
HENRIETTA, Texas - Forrest Starnes, 96, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Henrietta nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Vashti, Texas, with Lewis Sleeth, pastor, and Don Joplin of Fort Worth officiating. Burial will be in Vashti Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. Starnes was born Sept. 4, 1901, in Annston, Ala. He and Eula Donnell were married May 18, 1924, in Post Oak, Texas. She died Feb. 20, 1987. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Navy, and was retired from Civil Service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Henrietta. He had lived in Clay County since 1912.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Don of Wichita Falls and Lee Eddie of Aurora, Colo.; a daughter, Mary Lou Kostecki of Santa Fe, N.M.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 this evening for visitation.
Ethel Jones
VERNON, Texas - Ethel Jones, 88, died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Vernon hospital following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Wilbarger Memorial Park with Johnny Welborn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born June 24, 1910, in Thalia, Texas. She and Roy Lee Jones were married Feb. 28, 1935, in Ardmore, Okla. He died Feb. 2, 1990. She was a member of the Wilbarger Street Church of Christ. She retired from the Canton Café as a waitress.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Robert Bertram of Amarillo, Texas, and Allyson Lednicky of Austin, Texas.
The family will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time Friday for visitation.
Earl McDonald
RYAN, Okla. - Virgil Earl McDonald, 88, of Terral, Okla., died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Waurika, Okla., hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Terral Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Haynie and the Rev. Charles Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Terral Cemetery under the direction of Grantham-Worley Funeral Home in Ryan.
Mr. McDonald was born March 5, 1910, in Justin, Texas. He and Gadie Tanner were married Sept. 14, 1933, in Terral. He grew up in the Fort Worth area, where he attended public schools. He moved to Oklahoma in 1928 and settled in the Fleetwood community east of Terral. He farmed for more than 50 years before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Terral.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Helen Sue Brown of Springtown, Texas, and Shirley Nell Skelton of Amarillo, Texas; a son, Jack of Nocona, Texas; a brother, Tom of Newark, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Velma Stilwell
BOWIE, Texas - Velma Stilwell, 75, of Bowie died Monday, Aug. 10, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. O.D. Oliver, interim pastor of the First Baptist Church in Gilmer, Texas, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Stilwell was born June 8, 1923, in Lexington, Okla. She and Frank Stilwell were married Oct. 21, 1990, in Bowie. She was a homemaker and worked for Civil Service at Tinker Field in Oklahoma City for 21 years as a key punch operator. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bowie, where she was a member of the Homemakers Sunday School Class. She was active in the Bowie Senior Citizens Center. She was a longtime resident of Dell City, Okla., before moving to Bowie nine years ago.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Louise Roberts of Stonewall, Okla., and Mickey Neal of Dewey, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Jackie Sue Roop of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a stepson, George of Corpus Christi, Texas; three sisters, Pauline Shea of Lexington, Bethena Watts of Rosedale, Okla., and Thelma Watson of Las Vegas; a brother, Claude McLaughlin Jr. of Marchville, Mo.; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
James Leon Miller
VERNON, Texas - James Leon Miller, 58, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998 in a Vernon hospital.

Mr. Miller was born Jan. 27, 1940, in Fort Worth. He moved to Vernon in 1991 from Altus, Okla. He was a Baptist and a self-employed lawnmower repairman. He was engaged to be married to Marietta Elliott of Vernon.Survivors include a daughter, Judy Renee Mill; a brother, Dod Hankins of Muskogee, Okla.; and two sisters, Beatrice Miller and Mary Frances Rogers, both of Fort Worth.
Susie Zuber Brown
BOWIE, Texas - Susie Zuber Baker Brown, 103, of Whitney, Texas, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home with Dr. Ronnie Lawson, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bowie, officiating. Burial will be in Truce Cemetery near Bowie.
Mrs. Brown was born Feb. 7, 1895, in Burton Springs, Texas. She and Louie Baker were married in 1915. He died in 1957. She and Lee Wiley Brown were married in 1959. He died in 1979. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a former resident of Newport, Texas, and Bowie. A daughter, Novella Barto, died in 1996.
Survivors include a son, L.E. of Chico, Texas; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth D. Harty
GRAHAM, Texas - Ruth D. Harty, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in a Graham care center.

Mrs. Harty was born Oct. 7, 1907, in Aurora, Texas. She and R.B. Lucy were married June 12, 1929. She and William E. "Bill" Harty were married July 17, 1964, in Wichita Falls. He died Feb. 24, 1997. She was a retired school teacher in Iowa Park and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Graham. A son, Mac, died in 1988.
Survivors include two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gertrude Wells, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 1998, in a Wichita Falls care center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 809 Harding, with the Rev. R.M. Castle, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Wichita Falls under the direction of Young & Company Funeral Home.
Mrs. Wells was born Aug. 13, 1906, in Hearne, Texas. She and Clint Wells were married in 1945 in Anson, Texas. She was a retired domestic technician. She had lived in Wichita Falls for 30 years. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Temple of Wichita Falls; two sons, Sanco Nash Jr. of Lubbock, Texas, and Roosevelt C. Nash of Denver, Colo.; a brother, Arthur Lee Rice of Bryan, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at 509 Jalonic in Wichita Falls.

Henry Phillip Heard
VERNON, Texas - Henry Phillip Heard, 51, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in a Vernon hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sullivan Funeral Home with Ed Smith officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
Mr. Heard was born Aug. 5, 1947, in Graham, Texas. He and Carolyn Smith were married March 4, 1997, in Altus, Okla. He moved to Vernon from Archer City, Texas, in 1962. He served in the Army in Vietnam from 1967-69 and was a specialist fourth class. He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4747. He was a volunteer with Citizens on Patrol for the city of Vernon and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sherry Honaker of Vernon; two sons, Mark Heard and Steven Johnson, both of Vernon; and two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 this evening for visitation.
Charlie Estes Morgan
COMANCHE, Okla. - Charlie Estes Morgan, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in his Comanche home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home with Mirl Yates officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Morgan was born July 14, 1919, in Cotton County, Okla. He and Lillian Geraldine Bragg were married July 15, 1939, in Duncan, Okla. She died in 1987. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Comanche Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Charles of Comanche; a daughter, Jean Keck of Sulphur, Okla.; a sister, Eda Yearby of Comanche; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Bessie Lee Kilcrease

Mrs. Kilcrease was born Feb. 22, 1900, in Bowie. She and William Edward "Edd" Kilcrease were married Oct. 18, 1924, in Bowie. He died Dec. 12, 1942. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bowie. She was a lifetime resident of Bowie. A grandson, Ricky Rosendahl, died 1987.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise Rosendahl of Wichita Falls and Glenna Mae Piotzsch of Roscoe, Texas; a son, Frank of Lubbock; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
