Frederick Young Sr.
Frederick 'Polly' O'Neil Young Sr., 44, of Wichita Falls died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Saint John Baptist Church with the Rev. Paul Delaney, associate minister, officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery under the direction of Wells Funeral Home.
Mr. Young was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Wichita Falls. He was a graduate of Wichita Falls Independent School District. He attended Vernon Regional Junior College.
Survivors include two sons, Frederick Jr. and Cory, both of San Diego; a daughter, Candi of San Diego; a sister, Carolyn A. Young Holland of Wichita Falls; and two brothers, Charles and Kenneth, both of Wichita Falls.
The family will be at 220 Dirks Drive in Wichita Falls.

Lottie McReynolds
ELECTRA - Lottie Ruth Hampton Montgomery McReynolds, 95, of Electra died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in Electra.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of God in Electra with the Rev. J.W. McNeese, retired Church of God minister of Burkburnett, and the Rev. Charles Wilson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.
Mrs. McReynolds was born May 1, 1903, in Bonham, Texas. She and James Robert Montgomery were married Sept. 30, 1918, in Clutter, Texas. He died Sept. 8, 1957. She was a nurses aide at Seymour Hospital and Wichita General Hospital. She had lived in Knox City, Texas, before moving to Electra 30 years ago. She was a member of Church of God of Electra. An infant son died in 1920. A son, Lemuel Leroy Montgomery, died in 1923. A son, James Glen Montgomery, died in 1980.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Battle of Electra and Mary Pennington of Wichita Falls; a son, John 'Cowboy' Montgomery of Wichita Falls; a sister, Alma Skipworth of Bonham; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Church of God in Electra, 521 North Electra, Electra, Texas 76360.

Mike Singleton
BOWIE, Texas - Mike Singleton, 82, of Bowie died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in a Nocona, Texas, hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dick Hennings, minister of music at First Baptist Church of Bowie, officiating. Burial will be in Montague, Texas, Cemetery.
Mr. Singleton was born Dec. 15, 1915, in Denver. He was a rancher and a lifetime resident of Rock Springs community near Bowie. He had lived in Bowie for seven years.
Survivors include an uncle, Jack Hildreth of California; and a cousin, Pauline Morton of Bowie.

Jack Lewis Phipps
HENRIETTA, Texas - Jack Lewis Phipps, 65, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Chapel in Henrietta under direction of Davis Funeral Homes.
Mr. Phipps was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Electra. He and DeEtta Hollis of Henrietta were married Sept. 10, 1958, in Guymon, Okla. He served 11 and a half years with the Department of Public Safety and 11 years with the Wichita County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dumas, Texas, and the Faith Masonic Lodge. He had lived in Henrietta for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jack Lain Phipps of Fort Hood, Texas, M.L. Gossett of Amarillo, Texas, Daryl Wayne of Houston, Texas, Curtis Ron Phipps of Schweinfurt, Germany; one sister, Kay Lucy of Holliday, Texas; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Letitia 'Toots' London
Letitia 'Toots' London, 67, of Wichita Falls died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in a local hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Crestview Mausoleum Chapel with Bill Floyd, minister of North Fourth Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mrs. London was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Tulsa, Okla. She and Gordy 'Jack' London were married June 2, 1948, in Henrietta, Texas. She worked as a secretary for Beacon National Insurance Company in Wichita Falls for 26 years. She was a member of North Fourth Street Church of Christ in Wichita Falls and the Eastern Star. She was a past president of National Women's Insurance of America.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Haley of Richardson, Texas; two brothers, Larry Kennon of Wichita Falls and Bobby Kennon of Campbellsville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

Agnes Patterson
Agnes Patterson, 96, of Wichita Falls died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998, in a local nursing home.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Vern Raschke, pastor, officiating. Services under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Patterson was born May 6, 1902 in Black Rock, Ark. Her husband, Scott C. Patterson, died Dec. 3, 1977. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and the Altar Guild. She was a retired registered nurse in Memphis, Tenn., Fort Worth, Rising Star, Texas, and Breckinridge. She lived in Snyder, Texas, for 25 years and moved to Wichita in 1987. A son, Ray Light, died Dec. 21, 1985.
Survivors include one sister, Lucille Payne of Breckinridge; and one granddaughter.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church or to the Backdoor Theatre.

Howard Estes Johnson
ALTUS, Oklahoma - Howard Estes Johnson, 74, of Olustee, Okla., died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998, at an Altus hospital.
Services were held Aug. 31 at Kincannon-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Altus with the Rev. Don Harrold officiating. Burial was in the Olustee Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Kincannon-Lee Funeral Home of Altus.
Mr. Johnson was born March 15, 1924, in Jolly, Texas. He and Nelda Lou Crawford were married Oct. 12, 1946, in Wichita Falls. He attended school in Henrietta. He worked the majority of his life farming and ranching. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Olustee, Woodmen of the World and the Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gene Johnson of Marlow, Okla., David Johnson of Muskogee, Okla., Kenneth Johnson of Wichita, Kansas.; a sister, Georgia Ruth Draper of Wichita Falls; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Jack Clinton Camp
COMANCHE, Okla. - Jack Clinton Camp, 92, of Comanche died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in a Meridian nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Comanche Church of Christ with Charlie Thomason and Robert Mathews officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Morehead-Goetz Funeral Home.
Mr. Camp was born May 3, 1906, in Chickasha, Okla. He and Laura Florene Salkill were married Nov. 9, 1929, in Pawkuska, Okla. He was a retired engineer with Pipeline Mobil Oil Company. He was a member of Comanche Masonic Lodge and the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David of Deer Park, Texas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 1-7 p.m. today for visitation.

Edward M. Wuensch Sr.
HENRIETTA, Texas - Edward M. Wuensch Sr., 63, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998, in his Arrowhead residence.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., today at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta with deacon Ernest Van Orman of Long Valley, N.J., officiating.
Mr. Wuensch was born April 26, 1935 in Staten Island, N.Y. He and Judith Kuffner were married April 11, 1959, in Staten Island. He was a Catholic and an engineer superintendent at Cryovac. He served in the Air Force.
Survivors include wife; three sons, Edward M. Wuensch Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas, Matthew A. Wuensch of San Antonio and Michael C. Wuensch of Fort Worth; a brother, Lawrence Wuensch of Rowaytou, Conn.; a sister, Margaret Wuensch of New York; and seven grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 89 Newbury St., Danvers, Massachusetts 01923.

Lelia Crain Scott
NOCONA, Texas - Lelia Crain Scott, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, in her Nocona residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church of Nocona with the Rev. Richard Koeppe officiating. Burial will be in Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scott was born June 22, 1905, in Breckenridge, Texas. She and W. L. Scott were married Feb. 19, 1933, in Nocona. He died July 19, 1985. She was a 1922 graduate of Nocona High School. She attended Baylor College and received her bachelor of arts degree at the University of South California. She was an elementary school teacher at Montague School and a first-grade teacher at Crockett School in Wichita Falls. She resigned in 1933. She was a charter member of the Maids and Matrons Club, serving as president from 1928-1929, and again from 1949-1951. She was recognized as the Woman of the Year by the Nocona Chamber of Commerce in 1985. She was a member of the Women's Forum and was involved in the Major Francis Grice of the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter in Wichita Falls. She was also a member of the original Nocona Public Library Board. She a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Scott Diehl of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Nancy Scott Newhouse of Winchester, Mass.; and six grandchildren.

James Howard Jennings
BURKBURNETT - James Howard 'J.H.' Jennings, 86, of Burkburnett died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home Chapel of Burkburnett with the Rev. Buel Smith Jr., pastor of Saint John the Divine Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery.
Mr. Jennings was born July 27, 1912, in Boyd, Texas. He and Anne Marie Watson were married March 27, 1934. He retired after 32 years with Bell Oil and Gas. He served on the Burkburnett Police Department. He had lived in the area since 1916. He was a member of Saint John the Divine Episcopal Church.
Survivors include his wife; and a brother, Cecil Allen of Burkburnett.
Visitation for the family will be at 3:30 p.m. today at 405 Mistletoe in Burkburnett.

Leslie D. Smith
COLLEYVILLE, Texas - Leslie D. Smith, 64, died Thursday, Sept. 10, 1998, in Fort Worth.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Mr. Smith was born Sept. 14, 1933, in Narphlet, Ark. He was a retired salesperson for Slaughter Distributing. He volunteered with Haltom City, Texas, Beautification.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Gayle of Fort Worth; a son, Scott of Fort Worth; a daughter, Julie of Haltom City; two sisters, Nanci Nelson of Houston and Leota Baker of Plano, Texas; and one granddaughter.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today for visitation.

Barbara Hubbs Grigsby
DENVER, Colo. - Barbara Routh Hubbs Grigsby, 71, died Monday, Aug. 24, 1998, at her Denver residence.
Memorial services were at Mount St. Evans in Denver under the direction of A Choice Cremation & Funeral services at Lakewood, Colorado.
Miss Grigsby was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Wichita Falls. She attended Carrigan Elementery, Regan Junior High and Wichita Falls High School. She worked for AT-CHUR Service as secretary and had been a resident of Denver for 26 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Carter of Denver; one son, Bobby Caswell of New Mexico; one brother, John Fred Hubbs of Junction, Texas; mother, Mildred Hubbs of Wichita Falls.

Lola Analee Hines
JACKSBORO, Texas - Lola Analee Hines, 86, of Jacksboro died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in Jacksboro. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coker Funeral Home Chapel with Norman Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Hines was born July 2, 1912, in Jacksboro. She and Bert Hines were married April 1, 1934, in Jacksboro. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksboro.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Beverly Johnson of Palestine, Texas, and Barbara Jackson of Hurst, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6:30-8 p.m. today for visitation.

Lorene Lowry Langford
HENRIETTA, Texas - Lorene Lowry Langford, 93, died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in a Henrietta hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Valerie Mireb officiating. Burial will be in Bluegrove, Texas, Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Langford was born Sept. 5, 1905, in Clay County, Texas. Her husband, Cliff Lowry, died in 1976. Her husband, Floyd Langford, died in 1982. She retired from the dietary department of the Wichita Falls General Hospital. A daughter, Jene Fields, died in 1987.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. this evening.
Memorials may be made to Bluegrove Cemetery Association.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Newcastle Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Bazan, pastor of Faith Center Assembly of God in Graham, officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home of Graham.
Mr. Pounds was born Aug. 22, 1906, in what is now Navajo, Okla. He and Hallie Jean Neal were married in Newcastle. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Newcastle Assembly of God. He was a lifetime resident of Newcastle. Survivors include a sister, Clara Anderson of Grand Prairie, Texas; and two brothers, R.J. Pounds of Brenham, Texas, and Ferris Pounds of Newcastle.

Ira H. Riddle
HENRIETTA, Texas - Ira H. Riddle, 89, of Bowie, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in a Bowie Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta with Dr. Larry Cox officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Homes.
Mr. Riddle was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Jack County, Texas. He and Laura Tillerson were married June 5, 1954, in Iowa. She died Dec. 28, 1991. He spent most of his life in Clay County and was retired from Lone Star Gas Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bowie, and was a Navy Veteran of World War II. He had lived in Bowie for three years.
Survivors include two sisters, Ena Bumgardner of Bowie and Floy Quirk of Arnold, Calif.; and two brothers, Raymond Riddle of Goldsboro, N.C., and Reece E. Riddle of Houston.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. today at Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Leola Vassar
FREDERICK, Okla - Leola Vassar, 90, of Frederick died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Tipton, Okla., Cemetery with the Rev. Royce Couch, pastor of Wichita Baptist Church of Cache, Okla, officiating. Arrangements under the direction of Gish Funeral Home of Frederick.
Mrs. Vassar was born Nov. 1, 1907, in Brownwood, Texas. She and John Vassar were married June 15, 1928, in Crowell, Texas. He died in 1974. She grew up in Thalia, Texas, and attended schools there. She lived in Liberal, Kansas, before moving to Tipton in 1970. She moved to Frederick five years ago and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Clifford 'Pete' Hammonds of Crowley, Texas, B.W. 'Bill' Vassar of Frederick and Charles Vassar of Hobart, Okla.; a daughter, Thelma Dowdy of Albuquerque, N.M.; and 17 grandchildren.

Betty Leona Miller
BURKBURNETT - Betty Leona Miller, 84, of Burkburnett died Wednesday, Sept. 9, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett with Dr. Tim Russell officiating. Burial will be in Burkburnett Cemetery.
Mrs. Miller was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Willis, Okla. Her husband, Herman Y. Miller, died Dec. 15, 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Burkburnett, Senior Adult Sunday School, Wichita Falls Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, several camping clubs, and was a former member of Unity Garden Club. She had lived in Burkburnett for 58 years.
Survivors include two sons, Royce Miller of Burkburnett and Philip Miller of Wichita falls; and a brother, Raymond Corder of Kingston, Okla.
