CUSHING, Okla. - B.H. Berry, 89, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, in his Cushing residence.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Cushing with Lonny Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Euchee Valley Memorial Park under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. Berry was born Oct. 15, 1908, in Willow, Okla. He and Louise Kennemer were married Nov. 2, 1934, in El Reno, Okla. She died Aug. 23, 1996. He was raised and educated in Brinkham, Okla. He attended Southwestern Teachers College in Weatherford, Okla. He taught school in western Oklahoma. He had worked for Shell Oil Company in the accounting department for more than 30 years prior to his retirement in 1973. He had been a resident of Cushing since 1942. He was a longtime member, deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church. He was involved in Cushing Senior Citizens Center. He was a member of Shell Retirees.
Survivors include two daughters, Bonita Fraser of Oklahoma City and Linda Higgins of Burkburnett; three sisters, Lou Tee Hefley of Elk City, Okla., Rada Kohl of Okeene, Okla., and Ysleta Coughlin of Tulsa, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Gladys Craighead
ELECTRA - Gladys Lorraine Forster Craighead, 64, of Electra died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in Electra.
Services will be held in California. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Electra. California arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Mortuary of Cypruss, Calif.
Mrs. Craighead was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Grand Island, Neb. She and Dale Craighead were married Aug. 12, 1978, in Reno, Nev. She had lived in Rancho Murietta, Calif., before moving to Electra seven years ago. She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kyla Bentitou of San Mateo, Calif., and Debbie Mixon of Palmetto, Fla.; a sister, Garnet Dunn of Fountain Valley, Calif.; three brothers, Gary Forster of Reno, Larry Forster of Nokesville, Va., and Paul Forster of Newport Beach, Calif.; and three grandchildren.
Annie Mae Randolph
QUANAH, Texas - Annie Mae Randolph, 90, of Oklahoma City died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in an Oklahoma City nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ with Lyndal Werner officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Price-Jackson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Randolph was born Aug. 12, 1908, in Fort Towson, Okla. She and Dan Randolph were married March 18, 1935, in Frederick, Okla. She had lived in Quanah since 1953, where she was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star and the Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Georgia Shaw and Ella Wagner, both of Oklahoma City, and Bobbie Randle of Wichita, Kan.; two sons, Daniel and Johnny, both of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Emma Lee Williams and Mary Lee Burris, both of Las Vegas; 17 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 26 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Church of Christ Bible Study Class.
James Orvil Davis
BOWIE, Texas - James Orvil Davis, 79, of Montague, Texas, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Montague with the Rev. Darius McKay, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forestburg, Texas, Cemetery under the direction of Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis was born Sept. 19, 1918, in Velma, Okla. He and Geneva Culver were married March 11, 1971, in Bonita, Texas. She died Nov. 29, 1995. He was a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Montague. He was retired from Nocona Boot Company.
Survivors include four daughters, Joann Jones of Jacksboro, Texas, Virginia Helen Alleman of Holtwood, Penn., Myrle Taylor of Wichita Falls and Zoe Green of Ozona, Texas; three sisters, Elma Lee Gentry and Dovie Bramdlett, both of Oklahoma City, and Ruby Jones of Lodi, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mildred Laverne Burke
WEATHERFORD, Texas – Mildred Laverne Burke, 76, of Weatherford died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in a Fayetteville, N.C., hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Weatherford with Bishop Pete Carroll officiating. Burial will be in East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford under the direction of White’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burke was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Wichita Falls. Her husband, John Charles Burke, died in 1980. She had been a Weatherford resident for the past 40 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A daughter, Beverly Ann, died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Verlen Charles of Riverside, Calif.; three daughters, Karen Trotter of Azle, Texas, Debra Newsom of Weatherford and Stephanie Pelley of Fayetteville, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Blanche Nelson
WEATHERFORD, Texas – Blanche Tompkins Nelson, 98, of Weatherford died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Johnson Cemetery in Munday, Texas, with the Rev. Alan Barbee of Arlington, Texas, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of White’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nelson was born May 6, 1900, in Munday. Records indicate that she was the first baby born in Munday. She and Clyde Nelson were married Feb. 9, 1923, in Benjamin, Texas. She attended San Marcos Academy and Simmons College, which later became Hardin Simmons University. She was a school teacher. She was recognized as the Texas Baptist Mother of the Year by the Baptist General Convention of Texas in 1959. She had lived in the Knox County area for 76 years before moving to Weatherford in 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, a Sunday School teacher and a Women’s Missionary Union leader.
Survivors include a son, Paul of Abilene, Texas; three daughters, Wanda Barbee of Bronte, Texas, Mary Lou Morgette of Austin and Ann Nelson of Fort Worth; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Suzanne Stringer
GRAND SALINE, Texas – Suzanne Stringer, 42, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in her Grand Saline residence.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Broad Street Church of Christ in Mineola with Lee Peters and Steven Neville officiating. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stringer was born April 28, 1956, in Hobart, Okla. She and her husband, Bob Stringer, had been married for 23 years. She received her undergraduate degree in elementary education from Stephen F. Austin University and her master’s degree in early childhood development from Texas A&M University, Commerce. She was an elementary school teacher for more than 20 years, teaching in George West for two years and Grand Saline Independent School District for the past 19 years. She was recognized as the teacher of the year in 1995 in Grand Saline. She was a member of Broad Street Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include her husband; her mother and step-father, Floy and Wilse Edwards of Olney, Texas; two sons, Philip and Jeff, both of Grand Saline; a daughter, Erin Stringer of Grand Saline; three brothers, David Seigler of Urbana, Ill., Karl Seigler of Wichita Falls and Richard Seigler of Madison, Miss.; four sisters, Meleese Seigler of Austin, Jeanie Crosthwait of Shallowater, Texas, and Babette Coles of Rowlett, Texas; and one step-sister, Marnell Marone of Olney, Texas.

Ann E. Allbritton Seals
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Ann E. Allbritton Seals, 84, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel No. 2 with her daughter, the Rev. Dr. Mary Elizabeth Seals, officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Mausoleum under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home.
Mrs. Seals was born April 14, 1914, in Oklahoma City. She and John Raymond Seals were married Dec. 19, 1936. He died July 10, 1991. She was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and Hardin Junior College. She attended the University of Texas.
Survivors include a son, Dr. John Raymond Jr. of San Antonio; two daughters, Ann Caroline Moore of McAllen, Texas, and the Rev. Dr. Mary Elizabeth Seals of Claremont, N.H.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel No. 2.

Dennis Pate
Dennis Pate, 66, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in a Fort Worth nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Larry Shields, associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mr. Pate was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Electra. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Navy. He worked as an inspector at Special Projects Manufacturing Company, Inc. He was a member of the American Society for Quality Control.
Survivors include his wife, Tanya; a daughter, Denise Pate of Royce City, Texas; three step-daughters, Stacy Littrell of Dallas, Shelly Shields of Wichita Falls and Stephanie Daniel of Guthrie, Texas; six grandchildren; and his mother, Thelma.
Doris Good Johnson
IOWA PARK – Doris Good Johnson, 86, of Iowa Park died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of Christ with Jeff Ratliff, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.
Mrs. Johnson was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Wichita Falls. She and Albert Johnson Jr. were married Aug. 6, 1938, in Frederick, Okla. He died Dec. 23, 1989. She was a lifetime resident of Iowa Park. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Dockman of Wichita Falls and Kate Wright of Iowa Park; two sisters, Martha Dennis and Edna Good, both of Wichita Falls; her father, Raymond Good of Iowa Park; four granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
Henry Will Barton
Henry Will Barton, 86, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, in a local nursing center.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Perkins Chapel, with the Rev. John Dillard, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Barton was born Jan. 24, 1912, in Decatur, Texas. He had lived in Wichita Falls since 1926. He was a retired colonel with the Army National Guard Artillery and a retired English professor at Midwestern State University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the church choir for 50 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Margaret of Austin; a son, Henry David of Centreville, Va.; and two granddaughters.

David B. Maldonado Sr.
David B. Maldonado Sr., 80, of Wichita Falls died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in a local hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Thursday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Hector Medina, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mr. Maldonado was born Nov. 17, 1917, in Bay City, Texas. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. He was a retired carpenter, a longtime Wichita Falls resident and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Survivors include four sons, Ben Jaramillo of Abilene, Texas, David B. Jr. of Fort Worth and Raymond and Raul, both of Wichita Falls; six daughters, Connie Perez, Irene Butterfield, Hope Hernandez and Rachael Lay, all of Wichita Falls, Mary Garza of Fort Worth and Stella Maldonado of San Antonio; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Daniel Boone Lesh
Daniel Boone Lesh, 80, of Wichita Falls died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in a local nursing center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Jimmy Whitney, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Memphis, Tenn., and the Rev. T.L. Wilborn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Lesh was born July 19, 1918, in Petrolia, Texas. He retired from Texas Electric after 30 years of service. He had been a Wichita Falls resident since 1953 and was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Mary Ann of Brookline, Mass., and Candi McKee of Wichita Falls; two step-sons, the Rev. Jimmy Whitney of Memphis and Bobby Whitney of Wichita Falls; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today.
Janie Ruth Lane
Janie Ruth Lane, 63, of Wichita Falls died Sunday, Sept. 13, 1998, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Lane was born May 3, 1935, in Cookietown, Okla. She had lived in Wichita Falls for six and a half years. She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Brown of Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren.
Ruby E. Overton
BOWIE, Texas – Ruby E. Overton, 85, of Montague, Texas, died Monday, Sept. 14, 1998, in a Bowie hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Montague with the Rev. Darius McKay, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Montague Cemetery under the direction of Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Overton was born Aug. 4, 1913, in Hutchins, Texas. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse. She had been a longtime resident of Wilmer, Texas, Hutchins and Brownwood, Texas, before moving to Montague seven years ago. She was a member of Women’s Missionary Union and Harmony Rebecca Lodge No. 266 in Dallas. She taught Sunday school for many years at Southern Oaks Baptist Church in Dallas. A great-grandson, Christopher Hamilton, died in April 1995.
Survivors include a son, Joe of Borger, Texas; a daughter, Wilma Hamilton of Montague; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. tonight.

Charles Maddin
VERNON, Texas - Charles Emmett Maddin, 94, of Wilbarger County, Texas, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998, in Lubbock, Texas.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Fox of Calvary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
Mr. Maddin was born Feb. 25, 1904, in Harrold, Texas. He and Etta Martin were married Dec. 7, 1935, in Vernon, Texas. He had lived in Wilbarger County until 1987 when he moved to Lubbock. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Vernon.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Travis and Charles Jr., both of Lubbock, and Neal and Keith, both of Houston; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Friday for visitation.
Gloria Fae Taylor
Gloria Fae Taylor, 70, of Yauapai, Ariz., died Friday, Sept. 11, 1998, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Howard Chapman, pastor of senior adults at First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mrs. Taylor was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Wichita Falls. She was a homemaker.

Marlin K. Anthony
Marlin K. Anthony, 83, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 1998, in a local nursing home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Floral Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Wilkinson officiating and guest speaker Hal Ray Jr. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel.
Mr. Anthony was born Feb. 2, 1915, in Fargo, Texas. He and Merle Nelson were married Nov. 13, 1948, in the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Texas. He attended Hardin Junior College, now Midwestern State University, and Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University, where he was a member of Alpha Phi Omega. He also attended the University of Tulsa. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II for 36 months. He received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon and a Good Conduct medal. He retired from James Lane Air Conditioning in 1987, after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy, Wichita County Historical Commission, Merle Anthony Bible Class, Floral Heights United Methodist Church and Civil War Round Table. He was a 50-year member of Faith Lodge, and was a member of the Masons for 60 years. He was an Eagle Scout.
Survivors include his wife; and a sister, Mrs. Rudolph Baggett of Vernon, Texas.
