Elizabeth Scanlin Trott
Elizabeth Jane Scanlin Trott, 89, of Wichita Falls died Sunday, Aug. 16, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Crestview Mausoleum with the Rev. John Payne, rector of All Saints Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Trott was born Oct. 10, 1908, in Saint Clairsville, Ohio. Her husband, Arthur G. Trott died Sept. 29, 1973. She had lived in Wichita Falls for 23 years, coming from Columbus, Ohio. She retired from the Social Security Administration as a claims representative on Feb. 13, 1968. She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Red Door Senior Citizens Community Center and University United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son, Tim Scanlin of Wichita Falls; a brother, Donald Coates of West Branch, Mich.; a sister, Jeanne Harrison of Naples, Fla.; and two grandchildren.
Della Mae Smirl Payne
Della Mae Smirl Payne, 46, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Chapel with the Rev. Russell Sweeney, pastor of Christ Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Payne was born Sept. 28, 1951, in Wichita Falls. She worked for Spraque Electric for 18 years and for Stanley Tools for the past four years. She was a lifetime resident of Wichita Falls and a Baptist.
Survivors include her mother, Alice Joyce Smirl of Wichita Falls; two sons, Michael of Wichita Falls and David of Petrolia, Texas; two sisters, Christine Jones of Lake Arrowhead, Texas, and Gail Esly of Wichita Falls; three brothers, Wayne Smirl of Lake Arrowhead, and Richard and Eddie Smirl, both of Wichita Falls; and five granddaughters.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. this evening.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls or the American Cancer Society.
Verne Chambliss
Verne Chambliss, 68, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Christmas, pastor of Allendale Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
Mr. Chambliss was born April 25, 1930, in Eros, La. He and Polly Chambliss were married Oct. 20, 1960, in Home, Ark. He was a master sergeant for the Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jan Hamilton of Iowa Park; a son, James Kelly Chambliss of Vidor, Texas; two brothers, Boyce of Eros and Bobby of Monroe, La.; a sister, Betty of Eros; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. this evening.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Robert 'Bobby' Gray
SEYMOUR, Texas - Robert Arlin 'Bobby' Gray, 39, of Houston died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, in Conroe, Texas.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Houston. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Seymour Catholic Cemetery with Jim Novak officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Seymour Funeral Home.
Mr. Gray was born Dec. 2, 1958, in Roseburg, Ore. He was an automobile salesman.
Survivors include a son, Cody Allen of Kentucky; his mother, Doris Hrncirik Gray of Houston; a sister, Teresa Espinoza of Pearland, Texas; and a brother, Ronnie Allen of Houston.
Robert Glen Miller
BOWIE, Texas - Robert Glen Miller, 67, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in his Bowie home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie with the Rev. Jamie Reed, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church in Bowie, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller was born Feb. 9, 1931, in Hill City, Kan. He and Lois Clevenger were married Nov. 14, 1951, in Gentry, Ark. She died May 14, 1998. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army. He was a retired truck driver and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He had lived in Bowie for 38 years.
Survivors include his father, Roy Miller of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Robert D. of Burkburnett; a daughter, Debbie Giles of Sherman, Texas; two brothers, Everett of Wichita and Alvie of California; a sister, Bonnie Vanderburg of Hobbs, N.M.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

OLNEY, Texas - A. Alan Anz, 32, of Olney died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Luke Lutheran Church with the Rev. R.C. Gauger of Olney officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mr. Anz was born May 8, 1966, in Olney. He graduated from Olney High School in 1984. He was employed by Olney Door and Screen. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and was a member of Saint Luke Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Justin and Austin both of Olney; his father, Butch of Olney; a brother, Jim of Olney; and his grandmother, Peggy Holmes of Olney.
Memorials may be made to Saint Luke Lutheran Church.
Timothy Scott Rogers
OLNEY, Texas - Timothy Scott Rogers, 34, of Olney died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Rogers was born May 17, 1964, in Garland, Texas. He graduated from Olney High School in 1982. He was a self employed musician. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his father, Beryl Rogers of Olney; and three brothers, Gary of Lubbock, Texas, Clay of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Philip of Lubbock.
Memorials may be made to the Southside Baptist Church.
Billy J. Scobee
OLNEY, Texas - Billy J. Scobee, 68, of Olney, Texas, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in a Wichita Falls hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Graham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in True Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mr. Scobee was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Newcastle, Texas. He and Vida Crista were married July 25, 1957, in Olney. He graduated from Newcastle High School and served in the Air Force for three years. He retired from the Postal Service in 1991 after 31 years of service. He was a lifetime resident of Olney and a Methodist. A son, Raymond, died Nov. 11, 1992.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tommy of Olney and Kenneth of Blanchard, Okla.; four brothers, Raymond of Kamay, Otis of Iowa Park, Frank of Burkburnett, and Glen of Olney; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
