Leona Snyder
Died On March 1, 2001
Leona May Snyder, 83, Nevada, MO passed away Thursday afternoon, March 1, 2001 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born April 26, 1917 in Milo, MO to the late Leslie Roy Nichols and Ursula Ann Lauppe Nichols. She was married February 18, 1942 in Nevada, MO to Edwin H. Snyder who preceded her in death March 6 1969. After WW II she and her husband moved to Nebraska. Edwin was employed by Consumer Public Power Company and they settled in Nelson NE in 1950. During the next 17 years Leona worked part-time at numerous jobs, but her primary job was a full-time Homemaker. She loved gardening along with her husband and the satisfaction of canning corn, green beans, beets and just about anything that could be grown. She was active with the Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts as a den mother and troop leader. Because of her husband’s illness, she sold their home place and moved to Santa Rosa CA in 1967 where she lived until her husband’s death. Leona moved back to Nevada, MO and remained there except for three years when she lived in Kansas and in Rockport, MO. During her time in Nevada she worked for Green Thumb in Vernon County. She spent her last seventeen years in the nursing home in Nevada. Survivors include one daughter, Mary Adeline Ray, Lusby, MD; three grandchildren, four step grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Burgess, Nevada, MO, Annabelle Chubick, Blue Springs, MO; one brother, Albert Nichols, Mexico, MO; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Alvin, Robert, Charles, William, Carl and Harold Nichols and one son William Ray Snyder. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 5, 2001 at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO with Reverend Wes Anderson officiating. Interment

Irene Mae Snelson, 88, Nevada, MO passed away Sunday morning, February 4, 2001, at Christian Health Care in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born June 2, 1912 in Sedalia, MO to the late James W. Moore and Grace Truman McElfresh Moore. She was married in Nevada, MO, May, 1931 to Raymond N. Snelson. He preceded her in death June 15, 1982. Irene graduated from Central Business College in Sedalia, MO. After her marriage she lived in Nevada and remained here her entire lifetime. She was a very active member of Calvary Baptist Church in Nevada. Survivors include one son, Gary Snelson, Willard, MO; one daughter, Gloria Yeazle, Stockton, MO; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and one grandson. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2001 at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, MO with Dr. Melvin Mabra officiating. Cecil "Leroy" Smith

Cecil “Leroy” Smith, 77, Nevada, passed away Friday morning, November 17, 2000, following a lengthy illness at Nevada Regional Medical Center. He was born April 26, 1923, in El Dorado Springs, MO, to Earl Moore Smith and Mamie Bland Smith. He married Violet Renfro on May 6, 1944, in Ft. Scott, KS, and she survives of the home. Leroy was born and raised in the El Dorado Springs area. He worked for the Associated Transport, Liberty, MO, for 32 years, retiring in 1980. He and his wife came to Nevada in 1975 where he has lived ever since. He enjoyed traveling and camping. Survivors in addition to his wife, Violet, include one son, Michael Smith, Nevada, MO; two daughters, Sandra Stephens, Independence, MO, and Linda Wade, Lathrop, MO; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers and his parents. Funeral services will be Monday, November 20, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at Ferry Funeral Home with John Nichols officiating. Interment

Eugene Smith

Eugene F. Smith, 75, Nevada, MO, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2001, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada, following a short illness. He was born May 10, 1925, the son of Floyd Franklin Smith and Ruth Marie Fast Smith. He married Lucille Scott Smith on October 22, 1955, in Kansas City, MO, and she survives of the home. Mr. Smith was born and raised in Chetopa, KS, and graduated from Chetopa High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. Navy in WWII from 1943 to 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific Region and received the Victory Medal. Following his discharge, he returned to Kansas City and went to work for Armco Steel as a welder in 1946 where he worked for 30 years until his retirement in 1976. He had lived in Vernon County the past 16 years. He served on the Walker City Council. He played the guitar and sang for various nursing homes and senior centers throughout the area including the Crawford House in Nevada. He was M.C. of the Marmaton Valley Chapter of the Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers, and Singers. He also performed for the Senior Swingers in Ft. Scott every Monday for the past 14 years. Survivors in addition to his wife, Lucille, include one son, Jim Scott, Ft. Scott, KS; one daughter, Patricia Warner, Independence, MO; three grandchildren, Sarah Scott, Buffalo, NY, Jessica Warner, and Nathan Templeton, both of Independence, MO; one brother, Albert D. Smith, Parsons, KS, and one sister, ZoeNell Nading, Coffeyville, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul L. Smith. William Frank Smith, 60, Sheldon, MO, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2000, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. He was born January 20, 1940, in E. Peoria, IL, to Frank M. Smith and Elizabeth Hoffer Smith. He married Betty L. Fields on May 14, 1983, in Las Vegas, NV, and she survives of the home. Mr. Smith served in the Army for five years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly, Nevada, MO. He was a truck driver all of his life. He moved to Sheldon in September 2000 from Las Vegas, NV. Survivors in addition to his wife, Betty, include one son, Bryan Smith, Fresno, CA; two daughters, Angela Gongalas, Raymond, CA, and Allison Hanley, Las Vegas, NV; five grandchildren; one brother, Ronald Smith, Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Sharon Kaiser, Olathe, CO, and Patricia Smith, Las Vegas, NV. Dorothy Theresa Sinsley, 102, Independence, MO, formerly of Sheldon, MO, passed away Wednesday night, June 20, 2001, at the Monterey Park Nursing Home in Independence. She was born on August 28, 1898, in Cucamonga, CA. She married Frank L. Sinsley on May 11, 1920, in Huntington Park, CA. He preceded her in death on August 15, 1986. Mrs. Sinsley grew up on her parents’ fruit ranch in Cucamonga. In 1943, she and her husband moved from California to Oregon for a few years, and then to Sheldon where they purchased a farm. For the next 40 years they owned or rented several farms, houses, and apartments in the Sheldon-Nevada-Rich Hill-Bronaugh areas. In 1984, they moved to Independence to be near their sons. Survivors include six children, Dorothy Williams and husband, Jack, Sun City, CA, Helen Carnes, Tow, TX, Alice Torgerson and husband, Russ, Ventura, CA, Lloyd Sinsley and wife, Hazel, Frank Sinsley and wife, Betty, all of Independence, MO, and Jeannette George and husband, Bob, Poway, CA; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Brumund and wife, Reba, San Bernardino, CA, and one sister, Idris Knutson, La Mirado, CA. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred Jones. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2001, at Sheldon Cemetery with Jeffrey Sinsley officiating. Ruby A. Sikes, 83, Excelsior Springs, MO, formerly of Nevada, MO, passed away Thursday evening, April 11, 2001, at Excelsior Springs Hospital following a sudden illness. She was born February 25, 1918, in Jerico Springs, MO, to Charlie Boston and Minnie Mae Brown Boston. She married Everett Sikes on April 15, 1939, in Jerico Springs, MO, and he preceded her in death on December 10, 1964. Mrs. Sikes was born and raised in Jerico Springs and graduated from Jerico Springs High School. She was a member of the Sylvandale Baptist Church. She lived most of her life in and around Nevada until living the past 15 years in Excelsior Springs. Survivors include one son, Everette Sikes, Jr. and wife, Sharon, Nevada, MO; two daughters, Debbie Estes and husband, Andrew, Excelsior Springs, MO, Bonnie Beebe, K.C., MO, seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one sister, Eva Carroll, Carson City, NV. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and several half brothers and sisters. LeRoy "Bub" Shields

LeRoy “ Bub” Shields, 87, rural Liberal, MO, passed away Sunday morning, March 18, 2001, at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born December 21, 1913 in Hollow, OK to the late Adam T. Shields and Clarabelle Kimrey Shields. He was married to Waneta May Shields November 14, 1934 in Vernon County, MO. She preceded him in death September 25, 1984. LeRoy came to Vernon County at the age of four years and resided in the Horton area most of his life. He was the caretaker at Pence Gun Club in Vernon County for many years. He was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Logan-Moore Lumber Company and retired from Producers Grain after many years of service. After his retirement he moved to the Liberal area. Survivors include one son, Roy Eugene “Gene” Shields, Moundville, MO; one daughter, Argie Faye Hickman, Deerfield, MO; 11 grandchildren along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Greenlee, Nevada, MO. Helen Marie Sheridan, Joplin, MO, formerly of Moundville, MO, passed away Tuesday morning, January 23, 2001, at her home in Joplin, MO. She was born January 18, 1916, in Moundville, MO, to John T. Dirks and Mary Elizabeth Weber Dirks. She married Eldon James Sheridan on January 30, 1943, in Nevada, MO, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1985. Previous to her marriage, Mrs. Sheridan taught rural schools near Moundville. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Nevada, the Christian Women’s Fellowship, and the Wayside Club. She was a homemaker and loved to do embroidery work. She lived in the Moundville area her entire lifetime until moving to Nevada in October 1993 and then to Joplin in August 1999. Survivors include three sons, James R. Sheridan, Carl Junction, MO, Larry G. Sheridan, Washington D.C., and Edward L. Sheridan, Dawn, MO; one daughter, Margaret Ann Sheridan, Longmont, CO; 11 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and George Dirks. Scott, KS to the late Charles Michael Sheehy and Stella Lorene Minor Sheehy. Michael was born, raised and spent his entire lifetime in the Richard’s area. He was a Catholic. Othella Maxine Selby, 79, Nevada, MO, passed away Tuesday morning, July 31, 2001, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born September 18, 1921, in Sayre, OK, to Willie Hobart York and Jessie Elmira Moulton York. She married Oliver Dillard Selby on November 26, 1939, and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1988. Mrs. Selby was born and raised in Western Oklahoma. She moved to Vernon County in the fall of 1961 and spent the remainder of her life here. She was a Baptist. She worked for Edmiston’s Clothing, Kellwood Manufacturing, and for the Nevada State Hospital retiring in 1983. She was an avid reader, seamstress, and crocheter. She was very dedicated to her family. Survivors include three sons, Dane Selby, Runaway Bay, TX, Larry Selby, Moundville, MO, and Keith Selby, Nevada, MO; one daughter, Armenia Dougherty, Reidsville, NC; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; five brothers, Wesley York, Donnie York, and Phil York, all of Durham, OK, Oran York, Keene, TX, Carol York, Fremont, CA; two sisters, Edna Hicks, Lodi, CA, and Doris Hatley, Miami, OK. Balzoria Schulze

Balzoria I. Schulze, age 92, of Nevada passed away early Thursday morning, November 9, 2000, at The Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. She was born June 6, 1908, in Walker, MO, to Charles A. Reynolds and Olive M. Hartsock Reynolds, who had a family of 14 children, three of whom died in infancy. Another named George died with influenza during the epidemic of the First World War. Her remaining brothers and sisters lived to be in their 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. She was married to Albert L. “Buster” Schulze on December 23, 1929, in Butler, MO, and he preceded her in death in March 1963. Mrs. Schulze was a lifelong resident of Vernon County and a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Yahweh New Covenant Assembly. Survivors include one son, David Eugene Schulze, and wife, Dorothy; five grandsons, Charles, Ron, Rick, Scotty, and Kerry Schulze; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Gladys Conley, Rock Springs, WY, Velma Hartline and Floy Rynard, both of Nevada, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by an older son, Reynolds Lee Schulze in May 1966; three brothers, Hurley, Volney and Ted Reynolds; three sisters, Lula Forkner, Emogene Hodgson, and Flossie Lee, and one great-granddaughter, Krista Elise Schulze on November 23, 1991. Graveside services will be Saturday, November 11, 2000, at 2:30 p.m. at Newton Burial Park under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home. John Nichols will officiate. Survivors include the infant’s parents, Rodney Allen Schmoranz and Robin Louise Baker Schmoranz, Lamar, MO; two brothers, Travis and Jeremy Schmoranz, both of Lamar, MO; one half-brother, Timothy Schmoranz, Kansas City, KS; maternal grandparents, Donald and Janice Baker, Tulsa, OK; paternal grandfather, Harold Schmoranz, Sheldon, MO. Lennis Delayne Schmidt, 55, of Nevada, MO, passed away Saturday night, January 20, 2001, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born May 8, 1945, in Enid, OK, to Albert H. Schmidt and Pearl Pearline Buller Schmidt. He married Rita Nightengale on Stepember 6, 1970, in Fairview, OK, and she survives of the home. Mr. Schmidt was born in Enid and raised in Goldtree, OK. He moved to Vernon County in April of 1976 and has resided here since. He made his living as a farmer. He was a member of the Living Faith Mennonite Church, Walker, MO, and served as a deacon in the church. Survivors in addition to his wife, Rita, include three sons, Monte Schmidt, Schell City, MO, Marjo Schmidt, Harwood, MO, and Anthony Schmidt, of the home; one daughter, Tyanne Schmidt, of the home; three grandchildren; father, Albert Schmidt, Mound Ridge, KS, and one sister, Joan Koehn, El Dorado Springs, MO. He was preceded in death by one brother, Norman Schmidt. Clara Marie Sass, 80, Nevada, MO, passed away Wednesday evening, May 2, 2001, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada. She was born August 7, 1920, in Clinton, MO, the daughter of Darsie Everett Edwards and Jessie Agnes Stone Edwards. She married Elmer William Sass on March 8, 1946, in Ft. Scott, KS, and he survives of the home. Mrs. Sass was a member of the Church of Christ in Nevada and spent her married life as a beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and homemaker. Survivors in addition to her husband, Elmer, include two daughters, Sharon Moyer, and Hazel Lawson, both of Nevada, MO; three grandchildren, Sherry Leo, North Carolina, Leona and Miranda Lawson, both of Nevada, MO; three brothers, John and Glen Edwards, both of Springfield, MO, and Earl Edwards, Henderson, TN; three sisters, Helen Weger, Springfield, MO, Mary Barton, Abilene, TX, and Martha Moser, Bella Vista, AR; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Homer Edwards. She was also survived by special friends, Jeff and Cathy Greer, Francis Gipson, and Jeanie Baldwin. Opal Sanders

Opal Priscilla Sanders, Nevada, MO, passed away Thursday night, July 5, 2001, at her home in Nevada following a short illness. She was born August 28, 1908, in Walker, MO, to Samuel Edward Taggert and Hanna Louise Jones. She married Elmer Ridge in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1950. Then she married Jesse Sanders in 1951 and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1972. Mrs. Sanders was born and raised in Walker. She graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. She lived her entire life in El Dorado Springs and Nevada. She worked for the El Dorado Springs Shoe Factory for a number of years. She and her husband, Elmer Ridge, operated Phillips 66 Service Station in the late 1940’s. She and her husband, Jesse, operated Nine Wonders Motel in El Dorado Springs for a few years until 1963. Survivors include two granddaughters, Brenda Darnell, and Sandra Page, both of Nevada, MO, and one great-granddaughter, Jessica Blue, Ft. Belvoir, VA. She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2001, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO. Interment

Betty L. "Brown" Ruddick, 77, of Nevada, was born November 28, 1923 in El Dorado Springs, Missouri, the daughter of Daniel O. and Arta F. "Mann" Brown. Mrs. Ruddick passed away December 31, 2000 at the Nevada Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Ruddick graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1941. She was a graduate of the Kansas City School of Cosmetology in 1942. She was employed as a beauty operator for McClellans Beauty Shop. She was united in marriage to Stephen J. Ruddick September 3, 1947 in Nevada, Missouri at the home of Pliney Elliott. Mrs. Ruddick was then employed by Davison Shoes for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. Mr. and Mrs. Ruddick were honored by Christian Health Care as their 2000 King and Queen. Mrs. Ruddick was a member of First Baptist Church. She loved to travel, knit, and most of all, spend time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Steve, of the home, a daughter, Cindy Smith and her husband Richard of Milo, Missouri and a sister, Ruth Walker of Nevada. She is also survived by a granddaughter Kimberly See and her husband, Michael, a grandson, Michael Smith, a great grandson, Andrew See and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Ruddick was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond "Butter" Brown, Frank Brown and Glen Brown. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Webb and her parents. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 4, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at the Evergreen Memorial Chapel with Dr. William C. Cox and Rev. Paul Patterson officiating. Interment
will follow in the National Cemetery at Fort Scott, Kansas. Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Evergreen Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nevada High School Junior Air Force ROTC in care of the Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

Irene Pearl Roush, 91, Nevada, MO, passed away on Sunday evening, April 22, 2001, at Christian Health Care, Nevada, following a brief illness. She was born February 18, 1910, in Sabetha, KS, to George Charles Smiley and Letha Belle Embrey Smiley. She married Arthur S. Roush on June 8, 1928, in El Dorado Springs, MO. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1989. Mrs. Roush was born in Sabetha, KS, and grew up in El Dorado Springs, MO. She lived most of her life in Springfield and came to Nevada in 1980 following her husband’s retirement. She was an active member of the RLDS Church in Springfield. She was currently a member of the RLDS Church in Nevada, MO. Survivors include two sons, Billy A. Roush, Independence, MO, and Robert E. Roush, Elk Grove, CA; one daughter, Joan Hicks, Nevada, MO, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Cora Stafford, Osceola, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Jimmy Ray, one brother, Cecil Smiley, and one sister, Edith Roush. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2001 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO, with Elder Wayne Kent officiating. Interment
will follow in Clintonville Cemetery, El Dorado Springs, Missouri. Helen Rothenberger, 57, Nevada, MO, passed away Tuesday night, November 27, 2001, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born January 10, 1944, in Salem, OR, to Floyd Brundidge and Ola Pearl Roberts Brundidge. She was married to Mike W. Rothenberger on August 26, 1983, in Fairhaven, MO. He survives of the home. Helen lived most of her life in Nevada. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She worked for Nevada Manor for several years. Survivors in addition to her husband include three sisters, Elaine Birks, Mary Burnham, and Maxine Klontz, all of Nevada, MO; one stepdaughter, Misty Rothen berger, Walker, MO, three grandchildren, and mother, Ola Brundidge, Quinlan, TX. She was preceded in death by one son, David Cargill in 1978 and her father, Floyd Brundidge. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2001, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Nevada with Pastors Dennis Mix and Tom Scull officiating. Interment

Lynda “Shannon” Rosamond, 57, Nevada, MO, passed away Sunday night, October 22, 2000, at Nevada Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born October 27, 1942, in Bridgeport, CT. She married Lynn Rosamond on December 24, 1970, in Pleasant Hill, MO, and he survives of the home. Mrs. Rosamond grew up in California and was a graduate of high school in Sacramento, CA. She received her Associates Degree from Ft. Scott, KS, Community College. She came to Vernon County from Pleasant Hill, MO, in 1972 where she has lived ever since. She was a member of the Church of God in Deerfield, MO. She was a homemaker most of her life. Survivors in addition to her husband, Lynn, include three sons, Harvey Nichols, California state and Robert Eugene Nichols, of Texas, and Richard Rosamond, Louisiana; two daughters, Mary Duncan and Treasa Nichols, both of California; her stepfather, Richard Alberghini and mother Delores Kurnan Alberghini, Sacramento, CA; two brothers, Mike Alberghini and Dan Alberghini, both of California; and one sister, Kathy Ecdeston, California. Hurchal Anthony Rolando, 83, Mapleton, KS, formerly of Bronaugh, MO, passed away Thursday night, December 14, 2000, at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO, following a brief illness. He was born on May 9, 1917, in Iantha, MO, to Anthony Rolando and Sarah Elizabeth Greer Rolando. He married Maudie Marie Sisseck on December 6, 1938, in Lamar, MO, and she preceded him in death on December 9, 1981. Mr. Rolando was born and raised in Barton County, MO. He made his living as a mechanic, farmer, and sales representative retiring in 1979. He lived in the Bronaugh area all of his married life. He was a member of the Bronaugh United Methodist Church. He had had memberships as a Mason and a Lions Club member. Survivors include his special friend, Evalena Rash, of the home; three sons, Joe Rolando, Denver, CO, Tony Rolando, Nevada, MO, and Terry Rolando, Bronaugh, MO; seven daughters, Deann Farmer and Kathy Davis, both of Bronaugh, MO, Pansy Legall, Blairstown, MO, Ruth Hopkins, K.C., MO, Joyce Trotter, Nevada, MO, Patty Gibbs, El Dorado Springs, MO, and Frances Hill, Lamar, MO, 41 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; two sisters, Katie Sisseck, Liberal, MO, and Hazel Bogart, Nevada, MO. He was preceded in death by one son, Clinton Rolando; one daughter, Susie Evans, and three brothers, Winfred, Jesse, and Fred. Earnest Roby

Earnest Raymond Roby, 94, Nevada, MO, passed away Friday evening, March 30, 2001, at Christian Health Care, Nevada, MO, following a lengthy illness. Mr. Roby was born August 14, 1906, in Claude, MO, the son of Ernest Rubin Roby and Rose Catherine Watts Roby. Mr. Roby came to Vernon County in 1961 and spent the remainder of his life here. He made his living as a mechanic, a carpenter, and as a farmer. He also ran a milk route for Carnation for many years. He was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church. On September 7, 1927, he was united in marriage to Nora Sylvania Lukenbill at Harwood, MO. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1956. Mr. Roby later married Irous Dovie Hess in Nevada, MO, on April 13, 1961, and she survives. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include seven sons, James Roby, Medford, OR, Gene Roby, White Oak, TX, Franklin Roby, Martinez, CA, Jerry Roby, Grandview, ID, Johnnie Roby, Lee’s Summit, MO, Donald Roby, El Dorado Springs, MO, and Dean Roby, Jonesboro, AR; four daughters, Ida Kessler, Petaluma, CA, Norma Murry, El Dorado Springs, MO, Irene Wallace, Nevada, MO, and Mae Smith, Gainesville, TX; one stepson, Leroy Pryor, Lee’s Summit, MO; six stepdaughters, Betty Parrach, Nevada, MO, Dovie Crossland, Independence, MO, Annie Mayfield, Grove, OK, Edna Hunter, Versailles, MO, Pauline Allen, Bently, KS, and Ivy Wilson, Jefferson City, MO. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Martin Roby, El Dorado Springs, MO, and one sister, Magdalen Grow, Joplin, MO.
