Murray Jasphy, 80, died Tuesday, September 14, at Jewish Hospital.
Mr. Jasphy was a native of Brooklyn, New York.
He was a retired salesman and an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by: his wife, Marilyn Goldwyn; his daughter, Diane (Robert)
Puckett; a son, Howard (Beth) Hoffman of Nashville, Tennessee; a brother,
Irwin Jasphy; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held today (Sunday) at 2:00 p.m. at the Adath
Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston Highway.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.

Vulf Malkin died on Thursday. He was a retired electrical engineer, a native
of Russia and a member of The Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Natalya Malkin; a son, Alex Malkin; and one
grandchild, Tatyna Malkin.
A graveside service will be held today (Friday) at The Temple Cemetery, 2716
Preston Highway, at 3:00 p.m.

Frances M. Wexler, 71, of Louisville, died Sunday, September 12, 2004.
She was a member of Temple Shalom and the National Council of Jewish
Women, Louisville Section.
Survivors include her husband, Leonard Wexler; sons, Lawrence J. Wexler
of Estes Park, Colorado, and Bruce H. Wexler (Paula) of Duluth, Georgia; a
daughter, Donna A. Wexler (Tracy Towns) of Seneca, South Carolina; a brother,
Robert J. Levin (Dorothy) of Lake Worth, Florida; and grandchildren, Alexander
and Matthew Wexler.
Her funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. (today) Tuesday at Temple Shalom, 4615
Lowe Rd., where visitation will begin after 1 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the
Temple Shalom section of Cave Hill Cemetery.
Memorial gifts may go to Temple Shalom or to the Jewish Hospital Foundation.

Harriet Richter, 83, formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died on Tuesday,
August 31, 2004, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
She is survived by: three sons, Harlan Richter of Louisville, Mark Richter of
Tucson, Arizona, Stephen Richter of Israel; and a brother, Seymour (Sy)
Meyerson of New York.
The funeral will be on Thursday in Minneapolis at 1:00 p.m.

Morton Weiss, 67, died Thursday afternoon. He was a graduate of Palmer
Chiropractic School, the former owner of the old Nathan's Shoe Store, a
retired sales assistant with Fisher Meat Packing Company and a member of
Temple Shalom.
He is survived by his wife, Alyse Weiss; sons, Brian (Rose) Weiss and
Kevin (Robin) Weiss; daughter, Sherry (Billy) Shaft; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today (Friday) at 2:00 p.m. with interment
in Cave
Hill Cemetery - Temple Shalom section, 701 Baxter Avenue. Visitation will
begin after 1:00 p.m.

Norman W. Kahn, died Monday, August 23rd at Four Courts Senior
Center. He was 85 years old and a native of Louisville.
Kahn was the retired president of Irvin Kahn & Son, a wholesale floor
covering company. He was a graduate of DuPont Manual High School,
and Western Kentucky University.
He also served as lieutenant in the US Navy during World War II. He
served over 4 years in the Navy, most of which was aboard an L.S.T. in
the South and Central Pacific, and was in five major invasions.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Roberts Kahn, a native of Owensboro,
Kentucky; sons, Marshall (Shelley) Kahn and Dan (Mindy Shapiro) Kahn of
Indianapolis; a daughter, Caroline (Larry) Werboff of San Francisco; step-
daughter, Mary Louise Kent of Villa Hills, Kentucky; step-son, Reid Brodie of
Salisbury, North Carolina; a sister Annalee (Eli) Jaffe; and 8 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held today (Thursday) at 1:00 p.m. with interment
following
in the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston Highway. Visitation will begin
after 12:00 noon.

Albert S. Lipp, 83, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died on Sunday.
He is survived by his wife, Elayne; children, Jonathan (Susan) Lipp, Alana
(Grant) Byington and David (Laura Metzger) Lipp; Elayne's children, Catherine
(Jack) Youngbuck, Jeffrey (Kim) Hussman and David (Andrien Thomas)
Hussman; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His funeral service was held Monday (today) in Edina, Minnesota.

Raymond Schwartz, 67, died Tuesday at Norton's Audubon Hospital.
He was a partner with Welenken Himmelfarb + Company and a former
president of Congregation Adath Jeshurun.
He is survived by his wife, Minda Schwartz, and two daughters, Suzanne
Schwartz (Jeff) Knapp of San Jose, California, and Janice Schwartz of Homer,
Alaska.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (today) at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will begin
after 1:00 p.m. today. Burial will follow in the Keneseth Israel Cemetery, 719 Locust
Lane.

Karl Heilman, 89, formerly of Louisville, died in Pensacola, Florida on Sunday.
He was a native of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, where he was a licensed funeral
director and embalmer with the old Heilmann- Briese Funeral Home. He retired as
Dean of the Kentucky School of Mortuary Science in 1980. He was also a trustee
of the Indiana School Of Mortuary Science. The two schools were the forerunner
of Mid-America College of Mortuary Science in Jeffersonville, IN. He was also an
instructor at The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he taught micro-
biology for many years. While teaching, he published a textbook on microbiology,
which was used in many mortuary schools throughout the country. He was a
member of St. George Masonic Lodge 239 F& AM.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Heilmann of Pensacola; daughter,
Sharon (Kenneth) Rosenberg; two sons, Charles (Julia) Heilmann of Elgin, Ilinois
and Robert (Chrissie) of Pensacola; 11 Grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
A Masonic service will be held on Thursday (tomorrow) at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will
be Wednesday evening (today) from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Internment will take place in
Beaver Dam, Wisconsin on Saturday.

Dr. Leonard Allen Rosenthal, 91, of Louisville, died Saturday, August 7, 2004.
He retired after practicing dentistry for 40 years in New Albany, IN. He was a captain
in World War II and a member of The Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Noretta Rosenthal; son, Stephen D. Rosenthal; daughter,
Diane (Irving) Joels; three grandchildren, Julie Rice of Atlanta, GA, David Joels and
Charles Joels, MD, of Charlotte, NC; and four great-grand-children, Mallorie and
Ethan Rice and Lori and Susan Joels.
Private burial will be in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.

August 4, 2004.
She is survived by her daughter, Lois (Philip) Flarsheim, six grandchildren and

Cemetery, 719 Locust Lane.
