Lauren Ruth Pomerance, 5 years old, of Louisville, was born on March 1, 2001 and made her transition to join God on July 17, 2006.
Lauren proudly attended Adath Jeshurun preschool, was an accomplished gymnast, and lit up our world with her effervescent personality.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Warren Pomerance.
Lauren's memory is proudly honored by parents, Suzanne Ades Pomerance and Louis Pomerance; her beloved nine year old brother, Evan Pomerance; grandparents, Kay and Gerald Ades, Dorothy Pomerance and her companion, Jack Jaffee, and great-grandmother, Estelle Labiner. She is also fondly remembered by Aunt Cheryl Ades, Aunt Bette Ades Grove and Uncle John Grove, Aunt Ginger Pomerance Schirmer and Uncle Ed Schirmer; great-uncle and aunt Myron and Sonya Sholem; cousins, Lily Zhen Ades, John Robert Grove Jr., and Gabrielle, Alexis and Isabel Schirmer; and Lauren's numerous friends will deeply miss her.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, (today) at the funeral home, with the funeral and celebration of Lauren's life to be held at 11 a.m. followed by graveside interment in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston Highway.
Family and friends may express their condolences and support at the Pomerance residence immediately following the service, as well as at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
Contributions may be sent to Kosair Children's Hospital, to the Lauren Pomerance Meningitis Research Fund or to your favorite charity.

Norton R. Cohen, 81, of Louisville, died Saturday, July 15, 2006. He was a graduate of Male High School and attended the University of Miami and the University of Louisville. Norton was a veteran of World War II, having served as a tank gunner in Normandy before being transferred to write and direct an Army show entitled "For Men Only." He served in the European theater until the war's end, and returned home to later become President of the Acme Paper Stock Company, a member of the Temple, and a member of the board at Jewish Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, formerly Barbara Becker; his sister, Norma Jean Seidman; children, Laurie Cohen Winner, Deborah Metts Walker, Betsy Cohen Ceder (Carl), Sharon Metts, Glenn Cohen (Kelly), Janice Metts Helson (Tim), Cathleen Metts Conn (John); grandchildren, Graham Goldsmith, Gordon Goldsmith, Justin Walker, Rachel Helson, Riley Ceder, Jackson Helson, William Cohen, Reed Conn, Frances Cohen and Annabeth Cohen; and great- grandchild, Elijah Goldsmith.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday at The Temple, 5101 U S Highway 42, followed by burial in The Temple Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:15 p.m.
Contributions are requested to be sent to Hospice.

Matthew Riozzie, died Friday, July 15, 2006. He was a native of Liverpool, England.
He is survived by his close friends, Bill and Eve Withrow.

Eda Zauler, 83, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Four Courts Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mina and Jerry Tasman; son, David Zauler; sister, Paula Monheit; 3 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday (today) at the funeral home, with burial in Anshei Sfard Cemetery, 721 Locust Lane. Visitation will begin after 1 PM Wednesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Four Courts Senior Center.

Mark Speier, 86, of Louisville, died Tuesday. He was the owner of Hyman Cohen Furniture. He was one of the oldest members of Keneseth Israel Congregation, a member of St. George Lodge 239 F&AM, Scottish Rite, Kosair Shrine Temple, Odom Club and Keneseth Israel Men's Club.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bernard Speier.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Speier; son, Paul Speier (Janet); daughter, Shirley Yussman; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday (today) at the funeral home, with burial in Keneseth Israel Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 1:30pm Sunday.
Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Keneseth Israel Congregation.

Jeanne Susanne Plattus Wasserman, 75, died on June 14 in Boca Raton, Florida.
A beloved mother and grandmother, she was born to Morris Plattus and Bess Sotsky Plattus on January 28, 1931, in Louisville but raised in Syracuse, New York, where she was valedictorian of her high school class. After graduation, the family returned to Louisville, where she met and soon wed Irvin Levitch Wasserman in 1950. While raising their four children, she continued to attend classes in psychology and social work at the University of Louisville, receiving her baccalaureate degree in 1974. She also made significant progress towards a MSW and interned as a social worker at the Jewish Community Center. In her later years, she followed her children and grandchildren to Phoenix, Arizona and Boca Raton, Florida.
She survived Irvin by eight years, and was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Plattus of Scarsdale, New York, and James Plattus of Louisville.
Her children and their spouses Stanley and Sarah Wasserman of Bloomington, Indiana; Rosanne Wasserman and Eugene Richie of Port Washington, New York; David and Martha Wasserman of Dallas, Texas; and Robert and Ann Wasserman of Boca Raton will miss her brilliant and attentive personality, her beauty and warmth, her endlessly generous heart, and the depth and sparkle of her humor. Her brother Simon Plattus of Glendale, Arizona, her seven grandchildren, and all of her friends and family will cherish her memory.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Sunday (today) at the Anshei Sfard Cemetery, 721 Locust Lane, in Louisville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Irvin and Jeanne Wasserman Senior Adult Musical Arts Fund, of the Jewish Community Center in Louisville, or to the Jewish Family and Vocational Service in Louisville.

Bertha C. Davis, 89, of Louisville, died Friday at Jewish Hospital.
She was a member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun, Hadassah and the Jewish Community Center.
Bertha is survived by her husband, Benn B. Davis; sons, Dr. Roger Davis (Roberta) of Tucson, AZ and Lee Davis (Susan) of Louisville; daughters, Karen E. Davis of Louisville and Suzanne Kahn (Robert) of Westport, CT; her sister, Esther Rippe of Danville, VA; grandchildren, Sarah Davis and Scott D. Davis and Jeff Kahn and Laura Kahn; and special friend, Mary Ann Johnson.
The family would like to express there deepest gratitude to Dr. Alfonso Cervera.
Funeral services will be held at 12PM Sunday (today) at the funeral home, with burial in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston Highway. Visitation will begin after 11AM Sunday.

Eric Rosenblatt, 47, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2006, in San Diego, California.
He is survived by a son, Asher Vincent; sister, Helen Rafson (Paul); nieces Laura and Melissa Rafson; and Ari Aponte Rosenblatt.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Friday (today) at the funeral home, with burial at Keneseth Israel Cemetery, 719 Locust Lane. Visitation will begin after 2:00pm

LAWRENCE C. "LONNIE" Falk 63, of Prospect, died Friday, June 9, 2006. He was the Mayor of the City of Prospect, Kentucky for the last 13 years. He was (past) Council member, City of Prospect. For the Jefferson County League of Cities, he was Past President and is currently Vice President and President elect. He is a Director of Republic Bank. In addition, he had a long career in journalism and publishing. He had been editor of the Crimson White, The University of Alabama newspaper, a reporter for The Birmingham Post-Herald and a Bureau Manager in Birmingham, Raleigh and Chicago and Alabama state Editor for UPI (United Press International). During his years in journalism, he covered the following historical events: He was one of the first reporters to cover devastating Hurricane Camilla on-location in New Orleans; He reported on Neil Armstrong's landing on the moon; He covered a breadth of civil rights developments, including Martin Luther King Jr., the Alabama civil rights movement, the state's race riots and Governor George Wallace's "The Stand at the Schoolhouse Door" at the onset of the University of Alabama's historic integration. Also, he was Director of Information Services, University of Alabama and Vice President of PR , for The University of Louisville. He also ran public relations for The American Medical Association. He was the founder of Falsoft, the first computer magazine publishing firm in the world, which included titles Rainbow, PCM and Scorecard, the University of Louisville sports publication. Survived by his wife Willo: two daughters Wendy MacGregor (P.J.) of Chicago, IL, and Laurie Fields (Jason) of Atlanta, GA; and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Connor and Jeremiah Fields, and Madison Barsky and Sophia MacGregor.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Monday (today) at The Temple, 5101 US Highway 42. Visitation will begin after 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Birmingham, AL, on Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to City of Prospect Reading Center.

Loretta K. (Laura) Cohen, of Louisville, died Wednesday.
She was the owner and proprietor of Beehive Antique Store in Middletown, Kentucky and a member of Keneseth Israel Congregation.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Byron Cohen; sons, James Cohen of Westlake, Ohio, David Cohen of Haymarket, Virginia and Daniel Cohen of Fairfax, Virginia; brothers, Paul Kramer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Arthur Kramer of Cleveland, Ohio; and 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Sunday (today), at the funeral home, with burial in Keneseth Israel Cemetery, 719 Locust Lane. Visitation will begin after 10:00am Sunday.

Helen L. Wiser, 56, died Sunday, May 21, 2006 at her home. She was a native of Los Angeles, California and a member of Temple Shalom. She was also a chairperson for Temple Shalom Gift Shop, a member of Women of Temple Shalom, a former board member of Chosen Children and a former board member of Temple Shalom.
She is survived by daughter, Jessica Leigh Wiser; a sister, Janice Marks and her husband Arnold; nephew, Garrett Marks; and her dear friend, Glenda Wagner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday (today) at Temple Shalom, 4615 Lowe Road. Burial will follow in Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue. Visitation will begin after 10:00am Wednesday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Temple Shalom, City of Hope or to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Alek Tsozik, 43, of Louisville, died Monday, May 15, 2006.
He was the owner of ABC Driving School.
He is survived by: his wife, Erena Tsozik; parents, Joseph and Roselee Tsozik of North Port, FL; and his brother, Efim Tsozik (Sofia).
The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Wednesday (today) at the funeral home, with burial in The Temple Cemetery, 2716 Preston Highway.

Susie Katz, 59, of Louisville, died Friday. She was the vice president of Speier Hardware and a member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun, the Louisville Tennis Club and the National Council of Jewish Women ' Louisville section.
Susie is survived by her husband, Kevin Katz; daughters, Amy Katz Meriwether and Jodie Katz; her mother, Dorothy Speier; and a brother, Ronald Speier (Sharon Silversmith) of Albany, New York.
Her funeral will be at 1pm Monday (today) at the funeral home, with burial in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston Highway.
Visitation will begin after 11:30am Monday.

Larisa Polyakova, 66, of Louisville, died Friday. She was a native of Ukraine and a member of The Temple.
She is survived by her mother, Reyza Polyakova and her sister, Ada Medvedovskiy.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday (today) at The Temple Cemetery, 2716 Preston Highway. Visitation will be from 11am until 1pm on Sunday at the funeral home.
