DEBORAH PAULINE LEVINS
ROBERTSDALE - Deborah Pauline Levins , a native of Summerdale and a resident of Robertsdale, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999. She was 46.
Mrs. Levins is survived by her husband, H. C. Levins of Robertsdale; one daughter, Tammy Wilson of Robertsdale; parents, Alvin and Inez Scott, of Summerdale; two sisters, Wanda Scheimert of Bon Secour and Shirley Davis of Montgomery; and one brother, Otis Scott of Summerdale.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale.
EDWARD W. GATFIELD
GATFIELD - Edward W. Gatfield, a native of Muskegon,
Mich., and a resident of Lillian, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 1999. He was 73.
Gatfield was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Air Force and Army. He was also an active member of the Masonic Temple in Muskegon, Mich.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Gatfield of Lillian; one daughter, Sherrie Jo Robotham of Elburn, Ill.; two sons, William Edward Gatfield of Batavia, Ill., and Scott N. Gatfield of Portage, Ind.
Private memorial services will be held later.
The family suggests that contributions be made to Mercy Medical Hospice in Daphne. Cremation arrangements were handled by Mack Funeral Home & Crematory in Robertsdale.

Jesse R. Smith
Jesse R. Smith, a retired tree surgeon for a local company, died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 56.
A native of Bibb County, Ala., Smith was a longtime resident of Mobile.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Pierce Smith of Mobile; two sons, David W. Smith of Irvington and Jesse R. Smith II of Mobile; three daughters, Teresa D. Smith of Mobile, Lynda R. Gregory of Mobile and Lisa L. Ruffin of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers, Jerry W. Smith, Kenneth O. Smith, Ronnie Smith and Terry Smith, all of Birmingham; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Services are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Marvin T. Koen
BOLINGER — Marvin Tillman Koen, a retired truck driver, died Saturday at an area nursing facility. He was 82.
Koen, a native of Alabama, resided in Bolinger.
He is survived by a son, Jerry D. Koen of Homewood; five daughters, Linda K. Pinkerton and Charlotte K. Todd, both of Silas, Judy K. Jackson of Axis, Cathy K. Barber of Butler and Edith K. Fant of Raymere, Mo.; a brother, Carl Koen of Silas; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Bumpers Funeral Home in Butler. Services are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial at Spring Bank Cemetery.

Patsy King Ellis
COATESVILLE, Pa. — Patsy King Ellis, a former employee of the Naval Supply Depot, died Saturday at a Coatesville hospital. She was 75.
Mrs. Ellis was a founding member of one of the Episcopalian churches in Mobile and served with the Women's Auxiliary of Frankford Hospital-Torresdale Division.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold Ellis of Coatesville; her sons, Dan Jones of Bensalam, Pa., and Bill Ellis of Perora, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Wednesday at Burns Funeral Home in Philadelphia, Pa., from 8 a.m. until services begin at 10:30 a.m., with burial at Rosedale Memorial Park in Trevose, Pa.

Arnold Steadman
JASPER, Ala. — Arnold LaNeil Steadman, a truck driver, died Thursday. He was 60.
Steadman, a native of Alabama, resided in Jasper in Walker County.
He is survived by three daughters, Vicky Steadman and Jimmie Sue Sivley, both of Jasper, and Brenda Gann of Dora, Ala.; his mother, Tressie Grace of Jasper; four brothers, Ron Steadman of Jasper, Virgil Grace and Larry Grace, both of Carbon Hill, and Harlan Grace of Hendersonville, Tenn.; seven sisters, Bobbie Sides, Shelby Lynn and Judy Pierson, all of Carbon Hill, Sue Keeton of Narvoo, Ala., Shirley Darty of Adamsville, Ala., Betty Gross of Jasper and Cindy Tittle of Sumiton, Ala.; and a grandchild.

JASPER, Ala. — Peggy Williams Steadman, a furniture factory inspector, died Thursday. She was 60.
Mrs. Steadman, a native of Alabama, resided in Jasper in Walker County.
She is survived by three daughters, Vicky Steadman and Jimmie Sue Sivley, both of Jasper, and Brenda Gann of Dora, Ala.; a brother, Jimmy Neal Williams of Westminster, Calif.; and a grandchild.

MONTROSE — Ernest L. Burdette Jr., a native of Birmingham and a resident of Montrose, died Friday, Aug. 27, 1999. He was 81.
He is survived by his wife, Florence F. Burdette of Montrose; one son, Ernest L. Burdette III of Pass Christian, Miss.; one sister, Dorothy Walsh of Birmingham; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church in Daphne. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
The family suggests any memorial donations be made to a charity of choice. Cremation arrangements are by Fairhope Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. in Fairhope.

FOLEY — Lennie Boone, a native of Robertsdale and a resident of Foley, died Saturday at her residence. She was 86.
Mrs. Boone is survived by one son, Daniel E. Boone of Florence Ala; three daughters, Ethel Riddle of Ringgold, La., and Sandra Jansen and Barbara Norris, both of Foley; two sisters, Evelyn DeFilippi of Daphne and Leona Patterson of Robertsdale; one brother, Raymond Jerkins of Cantonement Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine R -NT est Memorial Park in Foley.

Sylvia Grimes
Sylvia M. Cole Grimes, a homemaker, died Monday in a local hospital. She was 79.
Mrs. Grimes was a native of Hodges and resident of Saraland.
She is survived by her husband, W.J. Grimes of Saraland; and two sisters, Mary Zimmerman and Sarah Brown, both of Arizona.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday from the chapel of Valhalla Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Gardens.
Edmund Turner Jr.
Edmond Charles Turner Jr., a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died Monday, Aug. 23. He was 57.
He was a former driver for Poole Truck Lines.
He is survived by one son, Demetrius Osborne of Mobile; two daughters, Erika C. Turner-Horn and Anna Maria Mitchell Gwin of Mobile; two brothers, Michael Turner of Nashville and Gary Turner of Mobile; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced by the family.

Michael J. Salmon
GULF SHORES - Michael J. Salmon, a native of Bloomington, Ill., and a longtime resident of Gulf Shores, died Sunday at a local hospital.
Salmon was a retired attorney and a former municipal judge who had practiced law in Mobile, Gulf Shores and Washington, D.C. A graduate of Spring Hill College and Georgetown Law School, Salmon served with the judge advocate general and had appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court.
Survivors include a son, Michael Joseph Salmon Jr. of Citronelle; a daughter, Mary Salmon Walker of Atlanta; and a brother, Thomas W. Salmon of Richmond, Va.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Gulf Church in Gulf Shores.

Jeff McKinley
THOMASVILLE - Jeff McKinley, a native of Monroe County and resident of Thomasville, died Sunday at home. He was 104.
McKinley, who was a school bus driver, was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Louise McKinley of Thomasville; one sister, Addie Sheehan of Demopolis; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Liberty Baptist Church in Thomasville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
